The heart of dirt track racing in Oklahoma will be beating strong in 2020 as the Outlaw Motor Speedway near Muskogee will reopen for business this season with racing on Friday nights featuring the USRA Modifieds and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods. Ted Holt Jr., who was tabbed to be the promoter when it was purchased by John Fiore in late 2016, announced that more than three years of silence at the high-banked 3/8-mile dirt oval will come to an end this spring.

The winningest driver in Lucas Oil MLRA history is among a class of eight people set for induction at Saturday's 33rd annual Ozarks Area Racers Foundation Reunion and Hall of Fame ceremony in Springfield. Terry Phillips, with a record 116 MLRA feature victories and four championships in the regional Late Model series, will enter the Hall in the formal portion of the program that starts at 5 p.m. at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds E-Plex.
Humboldt declares USRA sanction for 2020
When cars roll onto the 3/8-mile bullring in Southeast Kansas for the first time in 2020, they will be defined under a familiar sanctioning body as the Humboldt Speedway rejoins the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series after a three-year stint with NASCAR Home Tracks. "We appreciate everything NASCAR Home Tracks has done for Humboldt Speedway the last three years," said Ryan Whitworth, co-owner of Humboldt Speedway. "USRA will allow for our drivers to compete locally and nationally with other area tracks and USRA traveling series. When it comes down to it, ultimately we have to decide what is best for our drivers."

Registration is open for drivers who will compete in the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series during the 2020 calendar year.
