PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY OPENS 28TH SEASON SATURDAY - NETFLIX CAR MASTERS RUST TO RICHES WILL BE ON HAND

(Perris, CA, February 4, 2024) Perris Auto Speedway will kick off its 28th season of family fun and racing action this Saturday, February 10th, when LKQ Pick Your Part presents Night of Destruction. Spectator gates for the first of nine "Craziest Shows on Dirt" in 2024 will open at 5:00 p.m. and the crashing will begin at 7:00. Adult tickets are $20.00. For kids 6-12 it is only $5.00 and children 5 and under are free.
Fans are urged to come out early and bring all of the kids in the neighborhood for the on-track autograph and free candy giveaway session with all of the drivers and cars from 5:15 to 5:45.
Saturday's thrill-a-minute show will feature daredevil Figure 8 Racing, a wild Figure 8 Trailer Race, crazy Mini Stocks on the challenging PAS road course, rough and tumble no holds barred Demo Cross, and the fan favorite zany Double Deckers. All of the 2023 champions are expected to get in on the opening night action. That group includes Figure 8 star Earl Cox of Norco, San Jacinto's Trebor Stephens in Demo Cross, Riverside's Mini Stock hero Kris "Hot Wheels" Martin, Overall Iron Man Champion Bryce Wade-Pack of Murrieta, Michael Schattilly of Whittier in the Figure 8 Trailer race and Double Decker kings Lonnie Skillman and Don McCall of Perris.
"We are hoping for our biggest season of Night of Destruction to date," promoter Don Kazarian said on Saturday while taking a break from getting the facility ready for the opener. "Night of Destruction has become wildly popular over the years. It features racing and crashing all night long. The fans love the excitement and the racers love the affordability. Of the classes besides the Figure 8s, drivers can hit the local Pick Your Part or scan the neighborhood for a relatively cheap vehicle and be on the track for very little money. It is a fun way to get into the action without breaking the bank."
Adding excitement to the season opener, the popular NETFLIX series "Car Masters Rust to Riches" will be on hand to shoot an episode and will have a car competing in the demanding Demo Cross class.
"It is going to be a great night of racing," Kazarian said. "We are pleased that "Car Masters Rust to Riches" will be on hand to put together an episode for the popular show. They will have a car competing with all of the Demo Cross regulars. That will add intrigue and excitement for the fans. We are anticipating that it will be one of the wildest Demo Cross Main Events in the history of the speedway. The whole night will be wild. Opening night with new equipment for many of the teams always brings out the beast in everyone."
Another addition to Saturday's show will be the return of infield announcer Tom Gillum. The popular infield mic man will be back at his old post interviewing drivers throughout the night. He missed the last couple of races in 2023 due to back surgery.
Adult tickets for Saturday's race are $20.00. For kids 6-12, it is only $5.00. Children 5 and under are free. For those who do not wish to buy advance tickets, there will be plenty available for everyone at the ticket window on Saturday night.
The fairgrounds charge $10.00 for parking.
After Saturday's Night of Destruction, racing will return on February 24th when the Avanti Windows and Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series begins its historic 20th season. Joining the fastest non-wing sprint cars west of the Mississippi on that night will be the PAS Senior Sprint Cars, Gas Chassis Young Gun Sprints, and the PASSCAR Super Stocks and Street Stocks.
