"SHUGAH" SHANE SEXTON FINALLY RETURNS TO USAC/CRA COMPETITION ON SATURDAY AT PERRIS

(Warner Springs, CA, June 20, 2024) Finally, after more than three months of waiting, the best-looking sprint car in Southern California and its driver, "Shugah" Shane Sexton, will return to Perris Auto Speedway this Saturday night, June 22nd, to compete in the Avanti Windows and Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series. Spectator gates to see the eye-catching car and its young, talented driver in action will open at 5:00 p.m. and the first race will take the green flag at 7:00.
The #74, with the purple chassis and flashy blue wrap resplendent with chrome decals, was plagued by engine issues the first two races of the year. Now, with the engine rebuilt, "Shugah" will be back and slinging clay on the famous half-mile banked oval this Saturday.
In addition to the two attempts to race in his own car in 2024, the friendly driver from Warner Springs, California, wheeled a Bill Perkins-owned 360 at the April 27th race at The PAS. Competing against a full field of 410 cars, he finished 21st in the 30-lap main event.
Sexton's only other start in 2024 came two weeks ago when he steered one of Dustin Dumas's powerful lightning sprint cars in a SoCal Lightning Sprint Car Series race at the Barona Speedway. The likable driver led every lap for the win in his eight-lap heat race and things looked good for the main event. However, five laps into the race, he hit a big rut that jostled the car. The hit shook something loose in the electrical system shutting down the car and saddling him with a 10th place finish.
For fans making it to Saturday's race, be sure to come down to the pits after the night's final event to meet "Shugah" Shane and the #74 crew.
Adult tickets for Saturday's exciting race and night of family fun are $30.00. Seniors 65 and over get in for $25.00. For kids 6 to 12, it is only $5.00, and children 5 and under are admitted free. Perris Auto Speedway is conveniently located on the freeway close Lake Perris Fairgrounds at 18700 Lake Perris Drive in the City of Perris. Take the 215 freeway, exit at the Ramona Expressway, and go three miles east of the fairgrounds.
