Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Set for Championship Weekend at Eldora

BATAVIA, Ohio (October 14, 2024) - Get ready for a thrilling conclusion to the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series 2024 season! The action culminates at the iconic Eldora Speedway with the highly anticipated 44th Annual General Tire Dirt Track World Championship presented by ARP, taking place from October 17-19.

The weekend will begin on Thursday, October 17, with preliminary events for the Modified division. Additionally, a complete program is on tap for the Eldora Super Stocks, which pay $1,000 to win.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will take center stage on Friday with Dirt Draft Hot Laps, Allstar Performance Time Trials, and Heats Races. The Steel Block Late Model Series will compete in their preliminary events, while the Modified division will contest their 30-lap, $5,000-to-win A-Main.

Saturday's festivities will kick off with a Dirt Racing Outreach Service at 3:00 PM, followed by a Drivers Autograph Session at 4:00 PM. The on-track action will begin with Hot Laps for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at 6:00 PM. Then, B-Mains for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be contested, followed by the Jim Dunn Memorial Non-Qualifiers Race and the 100-lap, $100,000 to win, 44th Annual General Tire Dirt Track World Championship presented by ARP.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Series will crown the 2024 National Champion and O'Reilly Auto Parts Rookie of the Year following Saturday's main event. The Steel Block Late Model Series will cap the weekend with their 25-lap, $5,000-to-win A-Main.

The Turn 3 Pit Gate will open at 11:00 AM on Thursday, 10:00 AM on Friday, and Noon on Saturday. The General Admission Gates will open at 2:00 PM on Thursday and Friday and at Noon on Saturday.

Eldora Speedway is a half-mile facility at 13929 State Route 118 in New Weston, Ohio. The 'Big E' is owned by three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion, Tony Stewart. The Indiana native purchased Eldora from legendary promoter Earl Baltes in 2004. Baltes built Eldora in 1954 and had been the sole owner of the facility from day number one. Eldora hosts some of the country's most significant dirt racing events, including the Dirt Late Model Dream, Kings Royal, and World 100.

A three-way battle for the Big River Steel Chase for Championship presented by ARP will culminate in Saturday's finale at Eldora Speedway. Ricky Thornton Jr., looking for his first Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series title, leads the current standings. Meanwhile, Jonathan Davenport and Devin Moran are tied for second, a mere 50 points behind Thornton.

The 2024 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series National Champion will earn $200,000 from the over $1,000,000 points fund.
