WHEATLAND, MO. (May 3, 2025) - The power of top-level truck racing returned to Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday as the Show-Me Off Road Shootout opened the AMSOIL Champ Off Road Series season.
Cole Mamer came away the Pro 4 winner, taking command just after the halfway point, with Ryan Beat leading all the way to earn the Pro 2 main event to headline Round 1 action.
Racing is scheduled to resume on Sunday on the off road course with 13 sportsman divisions starting the program with 8:45 a.m. opening ceremonies. The seven pro divisions follow with their opening ceremonies at 2:30 p.m.
Mamer, of Holtville, Calif., grabbed the lead from RJ Anderson four laps into the Pro 4 race after Anderson had paced the action from the start. Anderson regained the lead in the 4-wheel-drive division when Mamer slipped just before the halfway flags.
But on the first lap after the restart, Mamer passed Anderson coming to the table-top on the back of the course. Mamer gradually pulled away from there and beat Anderson by just under one second. CJ Greaves finished third, 7.8 seconds behind the winner.
"Man, it feels good," said Mamer, who won the season finale in Pro 4 last season. "It took us about three years to figure out this Pro 4 platform. I can't thank my guys enough.
"Racing with RJ was a blast. I had a lot of trust in him sideways; he had a lot of trust in me sideways and I don't think we ever touched."
Beat earns Pro 2 win: Beat, of Iron Station, N.C., drove away to a dominating victory in the Pro 2 trucks, emerging from an early battle with Ronnie Anderson to establish command.
Beat emerged the leader after a hard-fought opening lap and was able to open a 1.8-second lead. Beat went on to lead Anderson by 3.8 seconds as action slowed for the halfway flags.
The second half of the race also was all Beat.
"We put in the work this offseason and I think it shows," Beat said, moving up to Pro 2 this season from Pro Lite, a division in which he had wins in the past when the Lucas Oil Off Road Series raced at Wheatland.
