Dobie Dominates Waynesfield Sunday for Great Lakes Super Sprints Win

Waynesfield, OH - The Field of Speed played host to the Ohio CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP on Sunday night and speed was the name of the game as Devon Dobie outlasted the field for the second GLSS sanctioned win of his career.

With 22 cars on the property, Dobie had a full field of heavy hitters to contend with on Sunday afternoon. A fast-paced program put the 25-lap main event on the track while the sun was still over the tree tops in northwestern Ohio, which could have played a factor throughout the race. Dobie led the field to green alongside Brian Sebetto and jumped out to a quick lead.

Much like Friday night's show, as the field would make it to lapped traffic, a caution would fall, stunting the progress of Sebetto and Kasey Jedrzejek, who tailed Dobie. A few single-car incidents slowed the field throughout the night, but the biggest issue was on lap six when Chase Dunham and Keith Sheffer, Jr came together on the frontstretch and sent Dunham flipping down the frontstretch. Dunham was ok but his night came to an end. Sheffer was able to continue.

Restarts weren't a problem for Dobie who mixed up his launch points and kept Sebetto on his toes. The final restart of the race came with just three laps to go and it was a non-issue for Dobie who held on for his first win of the season. Sebetto took second ahead of Jedrzejek, Max Stambaugh, and Jared Horstman.

"Coming up on 10 years that we won our first 360 feature here," Dobie explained. "It's always special to race here anyway, but any chance we get to race here is usually special in front of a home town crowd. The track was absolutely amazing all night tonight. Traffic here is tough, it's so narrow, the sun was actually really blinding coming through the middle of three and four, so you couldn't see great coming off of four. But you know you can't slow down too much with guys like Brian Sebetto behind you."

The next event for the Great Lake Super Sprints is Friday and Saturday, June 6th and 7th with stops at Limaland Motorsports Park on Friday, June 6th and Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday, June 7th. Fans who can't make the trip can enjoy the show at www.GreatLakesSprints.Tv.
