EDDIE TAFOYA JR. SET FOR FIRST START AT THE NEW BAKERSFIELD SPEEDWAY THIS SATURDAY

Chino, CA - June 3, 2025 — Eddie Tafoya Jr. will make his first appearance of the 2025 season at the newly relocated Bakersfield Speedway at Kevin Harvick's Kern Raceway this Saturday night. The event, a marquee stop on the Ultimate Sprint Car Series calendar, will honor Bob Vermeer and Narcie Ferriera.
While Saturday marks his debut at Bakersfield this season, it will also be his first race of 2025 with the USCS. The Chino Hills, California, racer is no stranger to the old Bakersfield Speedway location, but only began competing at the newer Kern facility last year. After a May rainout, he made three starts at the venue in 2024, including a pair of USAC/CRA events where he posted solid fourth and ninth-place finishes. In his only 2024 USCS start there, Tafoya came home eighth.
In 2024, Tafoya turned in a strong showing with the USCS, finishing third in the final point standings with three top-10 results in eight starts. His highlight came on June 15th at Santa Maria Speedway, where he finished second in the main event.
Big changes have greeted racers and fans in 2025 at the reimagined Bakersfield Speedway. The track surface has been reconfigured from turn two through turn three, while upgraded infrastructure includes a brand-new press box, expanded grandstands, modern restrooms, and state-of-the-art lighting. The track, located just off Interstate 5, offers an improved experience for both competitors and fans.
Though this weekend is his first USCS outing of the year, Tafoya has already logged a dozen starts in 2025 across Florida, Arizona, and California with the USAC National and USAC/CRA series. His best finish so far was a fifth-place run at Arizona's Mohave Valley Raceway on February 22 in a 30-lap USAC/CRA feature.

After Saturday's event, Tafoya will take a weekend off before returning to USAC/CRA action at his home track, Perris Auto Speedway, on June 21.
