WHEATLAND, MO. (June 16, 2025) - Fans can enjoy a free night at the races while helping out their neighbors in need this Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway with the annual Ozarks Food Harvest Food Drive Night at the Races.
The Arctic Food Equipment USRA Modifieds will run a special 25-lap, $1,000-to-win feature to highlight Pitts Homes and Realty Weekly Racing Series Round 7. The Ozark Golf Cars USRA B-Mods, O'Reilly Auto Parts USRA Stock Cars, Hickamo Super Stocks and Hermitage Lumber Late Models also will be in action.
Usual grandstand admission is $5, but fans will be admitted free by bringing four non-perishable food items to the front gate. The food donations will support Ozarks Food Harvest's partner food pantry in Wheatland, Hickory County C.A.R.E.S. Ozarks Food Harvest is the Feeding America food bank for southwest Missouri, serving 270 hunger-relief charities across 28 Ozarks counties. The Food Bank reaches nearly 70,000 individuals monthly and provides more than 21 million meals annually.
"Our fans always rise to the occasion to help out a great cause as Food Drive Night at the Races," Lucas Oil Speedway general manager Danny Lorton said. "We're happy to partner again with our friends at Ozarks Food Harvest for a night that will make a difference for people facing hunger."
Since 2008, Lucas Oil Speedway has collected more than 85,270 pounds of food to help provide more than 71,000meals for Ozarks Food Harvest and their hunger-relief partnership with Hickory County C.A.R.E.S. Last year, 2,800 pounds - accounting for 2,400 meals - was collected at the speedway food drive.
On the race track, the championship chases resume with some close battles shaping up entering the second half of the schedule. In the featured Arctic Food Equipment USRA Modifieds, Nick Bidinger of Perry, Kan., holds a seven-point lead over Jeff Cutshaw of Bolivar with Chad Lyle of Lone Jack just 20 behind.
JC Morton of Springfield has an 11-point margin over Robbe Ewing of Stockton in the Hermitage Lumber Late Models. The Hickamo Super Stocks find Tim Brown of Stoutland 10 in front of Tony Anglin of Walnut Ridge, Ark. Things are a bit more separated in the other classes as Urbana's Mason Beck leads Zack Neugin of Fair Play by 57 points in the O'Reilly USRA Stock Cars and Nevada's Jon Sheets is 43 clear of Springfield's Ryan Gillmore for the Clear Creek Golf Cars USRA B-Mod lead.
Pit gates and grandstands open at 4 p.m., with hot laps at 6:30 and opening ceremonies at 7.

Bicycle donations sought: The biggest night of the racing season for kids is just a couple of weeks away at Lucas Oil Speedway and track officials need assistance in making some dreams come true for the youngsters.
Casey's Thursday Night Thunder Kids' Night at the Races is set for July 3rd with a big post-race fireworks display capping the night of racing. But perhaps the biggest highlight will occur during intermission with the annual kids' bicycle giveaway on the midway.
The speedway is rounding up new bicycles and is asking fans, drivers and sponsors for help in either donating bikes for kids up to age 12 or money that can be used to purchase the bicycles. Youngsters ages 5 through 12 can sign up at the RCR Designs Jr Fan Club table before intermission for a chance to enter a drawing for the new bicycles of various sizes.
For more information about the bicycle giveaway and how to donate, contact the speedway office at (417) 282-5984.
RCR Junior Fan Club: The RCR Junior Fan Club Kids' Pit Tour continues this Saturday. Youngsters can sign up on the midway for the fan club before 5 p.m. and be a part of a drawing to join flagman Chris Loberg on a golf-car tour of the pits to meet drivers.
