Eddie Tafoya Jr. Returns to His Home Track, Perris Auto Speedway, This Saturday

Chino, CA - June 19, 2025 — Popular sprint car racer Eddie Tafoya Jr. will return to action this Saturday night, June 21st, when the Avanti Windows and Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series visits Perris Auto Speedway. The historic half-mile clay oval in Riverside County is considered the home track for both the 21-year-old series and the Chino Hills, California native.
Saturday's event was originally scheduled to be Tafoya's sixth series appearance of the year at Perris. However, two events earlier in the season were canceled due to rain. That means this weekend marks just the fourth 2025 outing at the track, located less than 30 minutes from Tafoya's home.
Tafoya, who drives the eye-catching #51T sprint car, recorded his best Perris finish of the year on April 5th when he placed eighth. He backed that up with a solid ninth-place run in the prestigious Salute to Indy on May 24th. His top finish overall in the USAC/CRA Series so far this year came at Arizona's Mohave Valley Raceway, where he finished fifth.
Saturday's race will be Tafoya's 14th start of the 2025 season, spanning the USAC/CRA Series, the USAC National Sprint Car Series, and the Ultimate Sprint Car Series. His most recent appearance came two weeks ago when the Ultimate Series competed at Bakersfield Speedway. Tafoya recorded another top 10 finish when he placed ninth that night.
Though Tafoya is not chasing points full-time in 2025, he has entered six of the first nine USAC/CRA races. Despite missing three events, he still sits 15th in the championship standings — a testament to his consistency and competitive performances.
