Eddie Tafoya Jr. Looks To Continue Early-Season Prowess at USAC/CRA Race at Central Arizona Raceway

Chino Hills, CA — April 16, 2026 — After last weekend's race was canceled due to weather, Eddie Tafoya Jr. will climb back into his beautiful #51T and head to Central Arizona Raceway for Saturday's Avanti Windows and Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series event. It will be his first appearance at the track since last November's USAC National Sprint Car Series Western World Championships.
Tafoya has enjoyed a strong start to the 2026 season. Through four starts, he has yet to finish worse than sixth. He opened the year at another Arizona venue, Mohave Valley Raceway, on February 28, where he finished third in the USAC/CRA main event. A couple of weeks later, he ventured to the half-mile Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for two nights of Ultimate Sprint Car Series competition, recording sixth-place finishes on both nights in "Sin City."
He then returned to USAC/CRA action at his home track, Perris Auto Speedway, on March 21, where the 2019 USAC/CRA Rookie of the Year came home fifth.
This season, Tafoya has been a consistent frontrunner, leading laps and running near the head of the pack in every outing. His performance has drawn attention from both fans and competitors alike.
"I feel really good, and pretty confident this year," Tafoya said last month. "The car has been working good and the balance is good. It is a combination of preparation and experience. I am just relaxed and confident on what we have got. It has been pretty good and I am excited."
For fans heading to Central Arizona Raceway, the track is located at 512 11 Mile Corner in Casa Grande, Arizona, 85194. Gates open at 5:00 p.m., with racing at 7:00.

For fans unable to attend in person, the race will be streamed live on Flo Racing.
Following Saturday's race, Tafoya is scheduled to undergo surgery on Tuesday for a hand injury sustained in a crash at Perris Auto Speedway last August. He plans to return to action when the USAC/CRA series visits Central Arizona Raceway again on May 15.
