Myers, Wagner, White win as Rod End Supply "Road to the Hockett" begins at Lucas Oil Speedway

WHEATLAND, MO. (May 16, 2026) - West coast native Joel Myers Jr., continued a successful trek through mid-America with a dominant win as the Rod End Supply "Road to the Hockett" kicked off Saturday night at Lucas Oil Speedway.

The 20-year-old Myers started on the pole and led all the way to capture the POWRi Winged 410 Sprint feature win, worth $5,000, and getting a leg up in the four-race series that leads to an open-wheel crown jewel in September.

Other winners in the opener of the "Road to the Hockett" series were Jack Wagner (POWRi WAR Sprints) and Peyton White (POWRi/IMCA WOW 305 Sprints). The series points champ after the four races in the POWRi 410 Winged Springs and POWRi WAR will receive an automatic bid into this fall's 16th annual Jesse Hockett-Daniel McMillin Memorial, Sept. 17-19.

Other rounds on the Rod End Supply Road to the Hockett: Round 2 on June 27, Round 3 on Aug. 1 and Championship Night on Aug. 22.

Myers drives to POWRi 410 Sprints win: Joel Myers Jr. of Santa Rosa, Calif., led all 25 laps to outduel 10th-starting Landon Crawley for the POWRi 410 Sprint feature. Myers also won at 36 Speedway in the division on Friday night.

Myers led Marcus Thomas as the front-row starters set the early pace with Miles Paulus going from sixth to third, before a red flag brought action to a half as Jack Potter rolled his car onto its side in turn one.

The restart saw Paulus continue his charge as he drove into second with Thomas fading quickly to 10th. Meanwhile, Myers was pulling away, opening a 2.2-second lead over Paulus by lap nine.

Paulus cut into the lead as Myers battled lapped traffic, pulling within 1.3 seconds by lap 15. One lap later, Landon Crawley completed a slider to get around Paulus for second, but that allowed Myers to extend his lead to two seconds with just six to go.

Myers continued to sail from there, beating Crawley by 2.9 seconds at the finish.

"This is a testament to the (crew) guys busting their butts," Myers said in victory lane. "I had a driver error on Tuesday (at Fremont Speedway) and it destroyed a race car. They kept their heads high and build a whole new race car. This weekend was really good."

Myers said hitting his marks consistently in lapped traffic kept him in good shape over the final half of the race.

"They really hit it on the race track tonight," Myers said. "It had a bottom, a middle and a top. I'm glad they decided not to re-work it. A big goal this weekend was to work on decision making in lapped traffic because that's what wins races."

Xavier Doney rallied from eighth to third with Paulus settling for fourth and Nixa's Kyle Bellm was fifth.

Jack Wagner previews in POWRi WAR Sprints: Fourth-starting Jack Wagner of Lone Jack took the lead with six laps remaining and held off Nixa's Wesley Smith to capture the POWRi WAR Sprint feature victory.

"They really had my number there until about halfway to go," an excited Wagner said in victory lane. "I'm so excited, I can't see straight. I am a non-wing winner at Lucas Oil Speedway."

Third-starting Wyatt Burks made an inside pass on Smith out of turn four to take the lead on lap three, seconds before a caution flew for a spin by Jesse Bebee. Just one lap was completed before Bebee spun again to bring out caution No. 2.

Once the field starting stacking green-flag laps, Burks was able to open a half-second lead by lap 10, but Smith moved to the high groove and cut the lead to a car length when caution came out again on lap 12 when fourth-running Samuel Wagner rolled to a stop trying to exit the track.

Burks continued to maintain the lead after the restart as Jack Wagner moved past Smith for second on lap 13. Caution No. 4 flew two laps later when Brett Combs' car dropped fluid in turn four.

Wagner grabbed the lead on lap 19 coming off turn four. He rolled from there, expanding his margins to more than a second by lap 22 and taking the checkers over Smith by 2.7 seconds with Burks third and Chase Howard fourth.

"Jack's been working his tail off to get to victory lane at Lucas Oil Speedway and hats off to him," Smith said. "Everybody did a great job here tonight, Jack was just better than us."

White takes POWRi/IMCA WOW 305 victory: Peyton White, a 15-year-old from LaMonte, Mo., lost the lead to Laney Moore briefly before rallying to regain the top spot and held off Moore for the 305 Winged Sprint victory.

Peyton White set the early pace over Laney Moore with Monty Ferriera third as action settled into a rhythm after two early stoppages.

White had nearly a one-second lead at the mid point on lap 10 as he started to encounter lapped traffic. That allowed Moore to close in within a couple of car lengths.

Moore took over the lead on lap 15, but White grabbed it back the next time around. The two battled it out, side-by-side at times the rest of the way and White was able to prevail by .629 seconds.

Ferriera was third with Mike Trent fourth and Randy Martin finishing fifth.

Show-Me 100 next: The 34th annual Show-Me 100 Presented by Ace Doran Hauling and Rigging is set for Thursday-through-Saturday, May 21-23, at Lucas Oil Speedway.

The three-day mega event, May 21-23, will pay $75,000 to win for the

100-lap feature event on Saturday. The first two nights will feature a full show for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series paying $10,000 to win on both Thursday and Friday,.

Saturday's final night will include B-Mains, The Midwest Sheet Metal Show-Me Challenge and the 100-lap feature paying $75,000 to win.

Hickamo Super Stocks will join the Late Models on Friday with O'Reilly USRA Stock Cars set to run on the Saturday program.
