dirtFan website

Mechanicsburg - Buddy Kofoid romped to the win on opening night of the C & D Rigging World of Outlaws Summer Nationals at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night.

The $12,000 victory was the second of Kofoid's career at Williams Grove and his 10th overall on the outlaws series tour in 2026.

Kofoid drew the pole for the dash and won it to start the 25-lap sprint car main in the same position, flanked by Daryn Pittman aboard the Kreitz-owned No. 69K.

Kofoid would lead every lap with Pittman in tow.

Pittman stuck close to Kofoid during the first 10 laps of the feature and at times cut Kofoid's advantage in half as the pair circled the famed half-mile oval.

On lap eight the Oklahoman took Kofoid's lead from 1.5 seconds to .88 seconds and then two laps later the leader entered the rear of the field.

As the race hit traffic, Pittman was eyeing the leader and Logan Schuchart was eyeing David Gravel for the third spot as the pair wrestled for the position.

At the halfway point Pittman was still only behind by eight-tenths of a second but shortly thereafter Kofoid began getting away, setting a pace that could not be matched.

The Penngrove, California pilot would take the win by 1.873 seconds at the finish.

Gravel perseverd over Schuchart for third.

Fifth starter Brent Marks finished where he started.

After starting 12th, Anthony Macri rallied for sixth followed by third starter Logan Rumsey, 14th starter Chase Dietz, Sheldon Haudenschild and Garet Williamson.

Heats went to Pittman, Gravel, Williamson and Brent Shearer.

Williams Grove point leader Troy Wagaman Jr. won the C Main and Justin Whittall won the B Main.

Pittman set fast time over the field with a lap of 17.258 seconds.

Williams Grove Speedway will host the World of Outlaws in the C & D Rigging Summer Nationals Finale on Saturday night, August 1 boasting a 30-lap feature paying $20,000 to the winner.

Action begins at 7:30 pm.
