(Hartford, OH)...After a weekend off, Sharon Speedway is set to resume racing action this Saturday night (August 15) for "Fan Appreciation Night" with a four-division "Steel Valley Thunder" program as part of the 97th anniversary season. The Hovis Auto & Truck Supply UMP Mods presented by A&MP Electric, Gibson Insurance Agency RUSH Sprints, Alcon Mechanical Econo Mods, and the Alcon Mechanical Crown Vics will be part of the program. It's Flynn's Tire (company picnic), A&MP Electric, and Kangaroof Night. Racing will get underway at 7 p.m.
As part of "Fan Appreciation Night", general admission is just $10, while kids 13 and under are FREE! In addition, fans can enjoy FREE hot dogs (two per person), and $2 beers! It's also Twin-State Auto Racing Club Night as all members will receive FREE general admission!
The Willy's World Kids Club presented by Millcraft Barns will include games and sensory friendly crafts and will open when the general admission gates open at 5 p.m. We're excited to welcome four rising go-kart stars to the Kids Club: Jacob Boyer, Joey McFalls, Diesel McFalls, and Ella King. Their go-karts will be on display and they'll be available to meet the fans. Big Ed's Tire Service is giving away two back-to-school backpacks (one boy's and one girl's). Sign-ups are available at the Kids Club. Winners will be announced following the first feature event.
The Hovis Auto & Truck Supply UMP Mods will race for $1,000 to-win; special thanks to A&MP Electric, Holbrook Sewer & Excavating, Wedge Motorsports, and Kangaroof for their support of the UMP Modified division in 2026. Thus far this season, there have been four different winners in as many races. Eric Wilson won his first career UMP Mod race at Sharon on June 6. Ty Rhoades then did one spot better than opening night as he scored his fifth win in the division and 11th overall at the track on June 13. The UMP Mods were a companion class to the World of Outlaws Late Models on July 11 as David Stremme invaded and scored his first career win at the track, worth $1,500 over the 43-car field. And most recently on July 25, Coleton Longwell won his first career Sharon UMP Mod feature giving him wins now in four different divisions!
The Gibson Insurance Agency RUSH Sprint Cars have been rained out four of their scheduled six appearances to date. The non-wing Chevrolet Performance crate engine powered cars are in their ninth year of racing. John Mollick has won both events this season and has now won 10 of the last 11 races at Sharon dating back to 2024! Gale Ruth, Jr. leads the $5,000 to-win RUSH Rustler Sales & Service Weekly Series points with four victories on the circuit, but hasn't won at Sharon since June 25, 2023 when he won back-to-back weeks.
The Alcon Mechanical Econo Mods will also be running in just their third program of the season. After going winless in 2025, Jeremy Double is two-for-two in 2026. Both events had 27 cars on hand meaning Double took home $600 for his efforts for each victory and all competitors in their field received a payoff boost. Double has now won an all-time Econo Mod best 24 times at Sharon.
Rounding out the four-division program on Saturday night will be the Alcon Mechanical Crown Vic division. The Crown Vics made their season debut on May 30 with a record 19-car field as Brad Shaffer scored the victory. Since then, the Longwells have ripped off three straight wins. Coleton Longwell won two-in-a-row giving him a division best three victories since the division debuted last season, and most recently, his father Jason won his first career feature on July 25. Summit Racing Equipment will present the hard charger award on Saturday night to the Econo Mods. The driver that passes the most cars in the feature will receive a $100 Summit gift card. In the event of a tie, the tiebreaker will be the driver that finishes highest in the feature.

Fans can not only experience viewing from the frontstretch and backstretch grandstands, but also from the infield fan zone, which includes concessions and restrooms. Sharon is the only track in the area to have viewing from the unique infield perspective. There will be times throughout the night when fans can cross on the frontstretch back and forth.
The pits will be open throughout the day on Saturday with passes going on sale at 4 p.m., while general admission opens at 5. Heat races will get underway at 7 p.m. Grandstand/fan zone admission for those 14 and over is just $10. Patio seating upgrades are just $10 and can be done on race night at the track office for non-special events. As always, children under 14 and parking are always FREE. Pit passes are $35. As a reminder, coolers nor outside food or beverages are not permitted. Sharon Speedway is a Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Friend Venue; information is available at the Kids Club site behind the main grandstand building.
Coming up on Saturday, August 22 will be the "Open Wheel Clash" featuring five classes of Modified racing; Big Blocks, UMP, RUSH Sportsman, Econos, and Vintage! It's on-track autograph night for all divisions. It's Ladies Night with 50% off general admission. Sharon Speedway will also recognize past owners of the facility. Novus Home Mortgage and Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Night. Gates open at 5 p.m. with racing at 7.
