Cypress, CA — August 12, 2026 — Good news for Southern California sprint car fans. Brody Roa picked up his repaired engine from Shaver Specialties on Monday, installed it in his familiar green #91R and will be back in action when Heimark Distributors presents the Avanti Windows and Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Cars at Perris Auto Speedway this Saturday, August 15.

"The Pride of Garden Grove" got a late start to his 2026 sprint car season, making his first appearance when he finished second in the Salute to Indy at Perris on Memorial Day weekend. Four weeks later, he went one spot better with a convincing victory on the Riverside County half-mile.

Three weeks after his win, the 2023 USAC/CRA champion returned to Perris and laid down a sizzling 16.997 on his first qualifying lap. That ended up being the third quickest of the night. Unfortunately, he slowed dramatically coming off turn two on his second lap and headed back to the pits. His night was over.

The problem was eventually traced to failed rocker arm bolts that knocked several pushrods out of position. Roa took the engine to Shaver Specialties in Torrance hoping the damage was not severe enough to keep him out of this Saturday's race. He got the news he wanted when he picked it up on Monday.

While qualifying has not traditionally been Roa's strongest suit, he has been exceptionally quick this season. In three appearances, he has qualified second once and third two times.

After Saturday, the "softball dad" plans on returning to his favorite California track, Calistoga Speedway, for the USAC/CRA Labor Day weekend shows. The trip to the "Wine Country" also gives him a chance to enjoy great family time with his wife Tailor and their two young daughters.

"It has been a long time and that is my favorite track on the West Coast," Roa said about Calistoga last month. "It is big, and extremely fast. I like that stuff; it is just kind of my style. I am excited to get back up there."

Roa and the team are also seeking additional sponsorship to help make the Calistoga trip possible.

"If anybody is interested, the side of the hood is wide open for a primary sponsor. They can jump on for a night or for a bunch of races. It is kind of wide open for anyone who wants to be a part of a winning race team."
