- Cal Lane Memorial Next for Empire Super Sprints
By Curtis Berleue (Oswego, NY) | With just two more points events on the 2025 Empire Super Sprints schedule, the tour will head to the Outlaw Speedway on Friday. The annual 'Outlaw Fall Nationals' will again honor the late Cal Lane, and pay $4,220 to the A-Main winner on Friday night. Originally scheduled as part of the 'Outlaw Spring Nationals' which fell victim to Mother Nature, the Cal Lane Memorial will now be run as the second trip of 2025 for the tour to the Yates County oval. When the tour visited back in July, Davie Franek was victorious over Dalton Rombough and Dylan Swiernik. Three time and defending champion Jordan Poirier remains at the top of the standings with a 179 point lead Dylan Swiernik in second place. Davie Franek sits in third, 159 points behind Swiernik, while Jason Barney is just fourteen points behind Franek in fourth. Shawn Donath completes the top five in the standings. Poirier has again been a model of consistency, finishing in the top ten 20 times through 21 events thus far, and second place Swiernik is not far behind with 18 top ten finishes. Pit and grandstand gates are set to open at 5pm on Friday, with pit admission set at $47 and general admission $25. Hot laps will take the track at 6:50pm, while the first heat race is set to take the green at 7:30pm. - The Craziest Show on Dirt, LKQ Pick Your Part Night of Destruction, Returns to Perris Auto Speedway This Saturday
Perris, California — September 16, 2025 — After what many fans are calling the wildest LKQ Pick Your Part Night of Destruction ever three weeks ago, the crash-'em-up, tear-'em-up, rip-'em-up madness returns to Perris Auto Speedway this Saturday night, September 20th. The evening of family fun will feature Figure 8 racing, a Figure 8 Trailer race, Mini Stocks on the road course, Democross, and of course, the ever-popular Double Deckers. Spectator gates open at 5:00 p.m., and the first crash will take place at approximately at 7:02. "It was hard to believe what we were seeing at the last Night of Destruction," promoter Don Kazarian said. "It was so wild you didn't know where to look, because crashes were happening all over the track at the same time." The wildest moment of the night came in the Democross Main Event. As the checkered flag flew, Alex Kiss of Riverside—driving his Dale Earnhardt Jr. tribute SUV—ended up perched on top of a boat, which was sitting on top of a giant tractor tire right at the start/finish line. The packed crowd roared as Kiss climbed out and celebrated by dancing on top of his #8 machine. "When you come to Night of Destruction, you know you're going to see crazy things," Kazarian added. "But an SUV on top of a boat that was on top of a tire? That was unbelievable. And just when you think these drivers can't top what you've seen, they go out and do it. I don't know how, but I'm sure they'll top it again. Maybe this Saturday." With three events left in the 2025 season, championship battles are heating up. The tightest point races are in Demo Cross and Mini Stocks. In Demo Cross, Corona's Brett Wayland holds a slim nine-point lead over two-time defending champion Trebor Stephens of San Jacinto. That's the same margin Lake Elsinore's Steven Green Sr., the defending Mini Stock champion, has over his son, Steven Green Jr. In the other divisions, Beaumont's Jesse Gordon, a three-time Figure 8 champion, leads four-time champ Earl Cox of Norco by 18 points. In Figure 8 Trailer competition, Lane Hoffarth of San Jacinto has a 33-point cushion over his son Kyle. In the Double Deckers, Lonnie and Cale Skillman, piloting the "Bug Ya' Later," are aiming for their second straight title, with an 18-point lead over "Ghost Busters" drivers John Flowers and Kevin Sauceda. In the overall Iron Man standings—combining points from all classes—Orange's Rob Multhaupt has a commanding 168-point lead over Lane Hoffarth. Kyle Hoffarth sits third, followed by Riverside's Austin Kinnane and Gordon. Fans are encouraged to arrive early for the expanded on-track autograph, photo, and candy giveaway session with all drivers and cars from 5:15-6:00 p.m. Tickets: Adults (13 & up) $25. Kids (6-12) $10. Children 5 and under are free. Parking on the fairgrounds is $20 (card only). Advance tickets are available at tix.com, but plenty of walk-up tickets will also be available at the gate. Perris Auto Speedway is located on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds, 18700 Lake Perris Drive, Perris, California. On-site camping is available for $25 per night beginning at noon on Fridays. - SPEEDWAY SEASON IS BACK
This Saturday night (September 20) the gates will open to a new season with the opening event of the 2025/26 South Australian Speedway season at the Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway. The dirt is set to fly with a full field of Wingless Sprints the feature event along with Street Stocks, Modified Sedans, Formula 500's and Junior Sedans. A small field of Sprintcars is also expected to conduct a series of hot laps in preparation for their season opener in a few weeks. Despite an early start to the season the Wingless Sprint event has attracted a field of 34 drivers from across the State and Victoria. The entry list includes some of the best competitors in the country including dual Australian Champion Joel Chadwick, who will drive the Andrew and Lyn May owned #47, Rylan Furler, Tailem Bend's Sam Martin, regular Speedcar and Sprintcar racer Robert Heard, Mason Merritt, Kaitlin Vickers, Bordertown's James Rodda, Kadina's Tate Cowie, and Michael Spoljaric. Victoria will also be well represented with Hamilton racer Aaron Kennett making his regular early season trek to Murray Bridge along with Mildura residents Jordon Bolitho and Diesel Fallon. One encouraging sign for the Wingless Sprint class is the number of newcomers who will take to the track for the first time, with seven drivers expected to take to the 360-metre clay way for the first time. The format for the Wingless Sprints will see two rounds of heats along with a B-main and a 25-lap finale. The Formula 500's are set to rocket their way around the Murray Bridge Speedway with former South Australian Champion Jack Bell joining fellow Victorian James McDonald in a series of battles against the locals including Harrison Pfitzner, Darren Richter, and rookie Jeff Martin. In the Sedan categories the Street Stock season opener has attracted 14 entries with Track Champion Nigel Reichstein being the one to beat. Over the past few seasons' veteran Carey Weston has always started a new season strong and he will be looking to continue that trend again on Saturday night. Keith Moore, Neville Nitschke, Grant Harris, Phil Watson, Ryan Buchanan, and Curtis Brown will also be drivers to watch out for the overall event victory. The Junior Sedans will see a mix of seasoned drivers and rookies in attendance with Mildura's Ryan Burns, local Henry Brumfield, Brodie Reichstein and Cody Gartner looking to start their seasons in style while a small field of Modified Sedans, headed by Terry Brown, Darren McCarthy and Tony Hardy will battle it out for night 1 honours. - Petaluma Speedway Adobe Cup welcomes SCCT this Saturday
Petaluma, CA…With the season winding down the Elk Grove Ford Sprint Car Challenge Tour is prepared to sanction the $5,000-to-win "Adobe Cup" at Petaluma Speedway this Saturday September 20th. The evening of family fun at the 14th annual Adobe Cup marks the final appearance of the season for SCCT at Sonoma County's longest running entertainment venue. Following this Saturday's outing the Sprint Car Challenge Tour will have just two events remaining in 2025. Adding to the excitement at the event will be the annual Bob McCoy Super Stock Memorial, along with the BCRA-WMR Midget Super Series. The familiar Petaluma 3/8-mile oval routinely produces thrilling wheel-to-wheel racing, as lapped traffic can create some of the most frenetic competition of any venue on tour. Please note the facility features an earlier start time, with the Pit Meeting at 3:45pm and cars on track around 4. "We look forward to having the Sprint Car Challenge Tour as part of the 14th annual Adobe Cup this weekend," said Petaluma Promoter Rick Faeth. "Petaluma Speedway doesn't hold as many Winged Sprint Car shows nowadays, but the fans have certainly flocked to the track when we have. The Bob McCoy Memorial has also become a big stock car race, and the Midget Super Series has been successful this season, so we think this will be a superb program for everyone to attend." This Saturday's 14th annual Adobe Cup marks the first event for the Elk Grove Ford Sprint Car Challenge Tour since finishing WST Speedweek in July. Sacramento's Austin Wood goes into Petaluma sitting atop the standings, as he looks to become the youngest SCCT champion in its history. Wood hopes to secure his first win of the season at the Adobe Cup. Yuba City's Seth Standley has moved to second in the Elk Grove Ford Sprint Car Challenge Tour standings following Speedweek. Standley finds himself 46 points back of Wood and will be gunning for a solid night at the Adobe Cup to help close the gap. Cole Schroeder has also been a common sight this year and has positioned himself third in the points with three shows remaining. The Bozeman, Montana driver stands 50 markers out of the top spot heading into the $5,000-to-win Adobe Cup. Western Sprint Tour Speedweek champion Max Mittry of Redding and Marysville's Dawson Hammes complete the top five in the Sprint Car Challenge Tour standings with three rounds left. The remainder of the top 10 in SCCT points is filled out by Santa Rosa's Tyler Cato, Brentwood's Adrianna Demartini, Elk Grove's Bubba Decaires, Marysville's Carson Hammes and El Cajon's Braden Chiaramonte. - Ayrton Gennetten Captures Victory with POWRi 410 Outlaw Sprints at Lee County Speedway
Donnellson, IA. (9/12/25) Ayrton Gennetten would time a late race restart to perfection with the POWRi Honest Abe Roofing 410 Outlaw Sprint League in the Harvest Hustle presented by Start2Finish TV to notch his eleventh league victory and earn the hard-fought feature victory at Lee County Speedway. Speeding up excitement on the smooth surfaces of Lee County Speedway with twenty-one talented entrants of the POWRi 410 Outlaw Sprints would see Sean Rayhall set a quick qualifying time of 13.208-second lap with Jack Anderson, Joe B Miller, and JJ Hickle each earning heat racing victories. Exciting the audience members in Southeast Iowa, the initial green flag start would find high-point qualifier Hank Davis and Sean Rayhall lined up in the front row as Hank Davis would gain the lead with Ayrton Gennetten, Sean Rayhall, Xavier Doney, and Joe B Miller all battling within the top five. Setting the pace for the first eighteen laps, Hank Davis would appear on pace to claim the feature checkers as a late race caution would bunch the field back together for late-race dramatics coming into play. Overtaking for the top spot on a lap eighteen restart, Ayrton Gennetten would time the re-launch perfectly and not be denied in earning his third seasonal POWRi 410 Outlaw Sprint victory in an action-packed main event, with Hank Davis holding onto the runner-up position. "I hit the wall trying to keep pace with Hank early, but I knew I wanted to make my move in lap traffic. I was focused on that last restart and made it work going into one," said Ayrton Gennetten in victory lane ceremony celebrations. Adding "Hank got really tight on that restart and I was able to capitalize for a great points night for the whole team". Contesting closely behind would find JJ Hickle placing on the final podium placement from the starting seventh on the initial green flag. Sean Rayhall would be among the frontrunners, all feature to fourth as Austin McCarl would hard-charge past seven other drivers to round out the top-five finishers for the POWRi Honest Abe Roofing 410 Outlaw Sprint League in the Harvest Hustle presented by Start2Finish TV at Lee County Speedway. - Zearfoss Claims Williams Grove Kimmel Memorial, Norris Scores Third In 358 Sprints
Mechanicsburg - Brock Zearfoss of Jonestown claimed the Billy Kimmel Memorial for 410 sprint cars at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night, getting his first oval win for car owner Rich Eichelberger. The victory was the fifth of Zearfoss' career at Williams Grove, worth $6,000. In 358 sprints, Dylan Norris of Hanover won for the third time this season at the oval and extended his point lead with just a pair of shows remaining on the year. Zearfoss started second in the 25-lap Kimmel main and took the lead over polesitter Justin Whittall when green appeared. He entered the rear of the field on the fifth tour with Whittall giving chase and the pursuer nearly got the lead on the 11th lap with a low groove run through the third and fourth turns. Whittall's chance came when Zearfoss made contact with Preston Lattomus high in turn three while putting him a lap down. The slight contact unsettled Zearfoss' No. 8 and before he could regain his composure Whittall got to his inside. However Zearfoss was able to hold on to control back to the stripe before a caution flag slowed the pace. Zearfoss sped away on the restart and had nearly a three second lead with 10 laps to go. At the finish Zearfoss was victorious by 3.607 seconds ahead of Whittall, Chase Dietz, Lance Dewease and Chad Trout. Sixth through 10th went to Kody Hartlaub, Freddie Rahmer, Lucas Wolfe, Troy Wagaman Jr., and Cameron Smith. Heats went to Whittall, Dietz and Zearfoss. Dewease set fast time with a lap of 16.745 seconds. Matt Findley led the first eight laps of the 20-lap 358 sprint main and all the while battled with Seth Schnoke for control. Schnoke repeatedly would drive ahead in the corners only to see Findley reclaim control onto the straightaways. Finally on lap nine Schnoke was able to get far enough ahead of Findley to hold onto control. Meanwhile, fourth starter Dylan Norris was advancing to the front and took second from Findley on the 11th tour. Norris first took a swipe for the lead with eight laps to go but Schnoke drove an extremely smart race, changing his lines every time around to keep his challenger at bay. It took until there was just five laps to go for Norris to finally make his way around Schnoke for good. Norris then drove to his seventh career oval win by 2.559 seconds with Schnoke ending up second followed by Cody Fletcher, Kyle Spence and Findley. Sixth through 10th went to Derek Locke, Cole Young, Eli Tuckey, Chase Gutshall and Nash Ely. Heats went to Schnoke, Findley and Spence. Feature Finishes 9/12/25 410 sprint cars, 25 laps: 1. - Cap Henry overcomes early race mishap to win All Star event at Fremont
FREMONT, Ohio - I get knocked down, but I get up again...you are never gonna keep me down. I get knocked down, but I get up again. You are never gonna keep me down." - Tubthumping by Chumbawamba. That describes Cap Henry Friday, Sept. 12 at Fremont Speedway presented by Gill Construction. The Republic, Ohio driver slid off the high side of turn four battling to retain the lead on lap six of the 35-lap NAPA Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champions Presented by Valvoline and slid back to fifth. It looked like Henry's bid for another feature win was in jeopardy. Darin Naida took the lead and fended off several challenges from Bryce Lucius despite a hand full of cautions which necessitated a fuel stop on lap 17. Henry had raced his way back to second. When the race resumed Naida now held off challenges from Henry. With 10 laps to go Henry drove under Naida to take the lead and despite a caution with four laps to go, drove off to his fifth win of the season at "The Track That Action Built" on Kistler Engines Night over Kasey Jedrzejek, Naida, 22nd starter Kalib Henry and Cale Thomas. Henry's charge from 22nd to fourth keeps him atop the All Star championship chase heading into their last event Saturday at Fremont. It is Henry's 16 overall victory of 2025 (leads the nation), his third straight All Star win and 11th series victory of his career and his first at Fremont since 2020. He now has 26 career wins at Fremont Speedway "I watched a pretty cool interview with Bloomquist (Scott) and Stewart (Tony) a couple of weeks ago and it was talking about driver intros and nobody saying anything when they get introduced and Bloomquist going and half the field booing and half the field cheering and Tony said the same thing and Earnhardt telling him if everybody is quiet no one likes you at all. I'm just proud of my guys. That was a tough deal there losing the lead. I thought that was going to be detrimental and we go that open red and Zack (Myers, crew chief) kind of tweaked on that thing a little and we got to move around a little bit and figure the car out. To have a season like this I honestly never thought it would happen. I'm just so grateful for everybody. Fremont's always been special and the Jim Ford Classic is special to me," said Henry beside his Premier Planning Service, Jeff Ward Demolition, Ohio Logistics, Primal Tee Shop, Innovative Excavating, Elliott's Custom Trailers and Carts, FK Rod Ends, King Racing, Griff's Engines; Berryman Racing Shocks, Callie's Performance Products, Dyers, Power Cool Manufacturing, SCS Gearbox, Tony Elliott Foundation backed #33W. Jedrzejek, who won last Saturday at Fremont, a collapsed front wing early had him scrambling. "We were solid all night. The nose wing fell down the first lap of the race. I just tried to limp my way to the open red and stay up as far front as I could. Once we got that fixed I took a few laps to figure out where to put my top wing and we started passing some cars. Wish we could have gotten to lapped traffic to see if we had anything for Cap," said Jedrzejek. Naida was disappointed after leading a lot of laps. "We've been struggling a little on and off here all year with just difference stuff but Fremont just kind of feels like home for it. We've been really good here all year early in the night when it has moisture in it…need to get better when it dries out," said Naida. The Burmeister Trophy Dirt Trucks were split into two fields for two feature events. In the first 25-lap feature Craig Dippman took the lead on lap three and held off challenge after challenge from Shawn Valenti to score his second career Fremont win. In the second feature Steve fended off challenges the final three laps by Kent Brewer to score his second career Fremont win. The 18th Annual Jim Ford Classic will wrap up Saturday, Sept. 13 at Fremont Speedway for the $10,000 to win All Star event, the 139th visit of the series to Fremont. The All Stars will crown their 2025 champion as well. The 305 sprints will also be in competition. - Brody Roa Ready for Saturday's So Cal Showdown at Perris Auto Speedway
Cypress, CA - September 12, 2025 — Fresh off a season-best USAC/CRA fourth-place finish at Perris Auto Speedway on August 16, Southern California sprint car standout Brody Roa is set for battle in tomorrow night's So Cal Showdown. The popular Avanti Windows and Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Cars will share the stage with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars on the famous half-mile clay oval. Spectator gates open at 5:00 p.m., with racing at 7:00. The last time the Outlaws and USAC/CRA teams combined for a doubleheader at The PAS, Roa was actually on the other side of the fence—competing with the Outlaws in 2022. That season, he and his team put together a "fun-first" schedule, which included a handful of winged sprint car races. Roa's winged journey kicked off on February 26, 2022, with a King of Thunder event at Hanford, where he scored a solid ninth-place finish in the A-main. A month later, he faced the Outlaws for the first time at Bakersfield Speedway, finishing ninth in the B-main. The very next night, he rolled into Perris to take on the Outlaws again. After finishing ninth in his heat, Roa started seventh in the B-main, needing to crack the top six to transfer. With one of the largest crowds in track history cheering him on, he reeled in the final transfer spot, made the pass, and pulled away to secure his spot in the feature. "That was the year we kind of bounced around just having fun," Roa said of the 2022 campaign. "Experimenting with all the wing stuff and trying something new. I think there were like two cars that missed the main event. It was exciting, and I passed Noah Gas. We passed him for the last transfer. It was a tough race. It had him, Tanner Thorson, and I think Logan Schuchart was in the race. It was like a 7-car B main." Starting 24th in the main event, Roa passed several cars before disaster struck on lap 21 when a car got out of shape in front of him. With nowhere to go, Roa made contact, damaging the wings and flattening the left front tire. Per Outlaw rules, there is no extra time in the work area after lap 20, and with too much damage to repair in time, his night ended with a 24th-place finish. "Honestly, not much," Roa laughed when asked what his expectations were racing against the Outlaws. "We ran the two nights with Outlaws, and we ran a couple of nights at Hanford with NARC, I think. It was like let's show up and try something new with no expectations and have fun again. It was a little refresher from what we had always done, and it was a lot of fun trying something new and experimenting. It was doing some stuff that was outside of our comfort zone." That would turn out to be the Garden Grove, California driver's most recent winged race. A planned NARC start at Hanford in April of 2022 was canceled when dangerous winds forced the promoter to call off the show. Just like in 2022, Roa is racing mainly for fun this season, focusing on Perris but leaving the door open to future winged opportunities should the right ride come along. "At this point, I just like driving Sprint cars," Roa Stated. "You know non-wing stuff is my history and my passion. That wing stuff was super fun, and I would do it again. I don't think I was terrible in the wing car. I thought I was pretty comfortable. Just needed some experience." "I'm having fun taking this thing out to Perris every month," he assured. "Me, my dad, my uncle, family, and Joe (Joe Gibb). He's (Gibb) going to miss this weekend, and my dad is having a procedure tomorrow. He's not going to be able to help on Saturday, but he is going to be there to watch over things and see how it goes." "I've reached out to a half dozen people that I know who I would like to come out and help, and they're not available," Roa lamented. "So, if anybody wants the experience of working on a non-wing sprint car, we need a couple of hands on Saturday. We will be there either way. Tailor (his wife) and I have made plans, and we are going to take the car out. We are bringing our girls out (young daughters Addison and Rylee). It will be a family event." Fans can see Roa and all of the other stars in action this Saturday at Perris Auto Speedway. Spectator gates open at 5:00 p.m., with racing at 7:00. Advance tickets are available now at worldofoutlaws.com, and walk-up tickets will also be available at the track ticket window. Perris Auto Speedway is located on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds at 18700 Lake Perris Drive in the city of Perris. For more information, please visit perrisautospeedway.com or call (951) 940-0134. Roa would like to thank his 2025 sponsors, "Biker" Bruce Fischer, Burris Racing, ALR Virtual Services, Caltrol, Molecule, and Wilwood Disc Brakes.
