- Dewease Beats Dietrich For Grove All Stars Paxton Classic 8K Win - Jackson sweeps wingless sportsman mains
Mechanicsburg - Lance Dewease of Fayetteville turned back 11th starter Danny Dietrich to win the All Stars Circuit of Champions Sprints Lynn Paxton EMMR Legends Classic at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night. The 30-lap, $8,000 win was the 116th of Dewease's illustrious career at the oval and his 11th at the speedplant over the traveling All Stars series. In twin 20-lap wingless super sportsman mains, Tony Jackson proved victorious to sweep both events. Dewease earned the pole for the All Stars Paxton Classic by winning the dash and he was flanked by Ryan Smith for the start. Aboard the Kreitz No. 69K, Smith drove into the lead when action began with Dewease second and Justin Whittall racing third. Dewease stalked the leader during the early going and when Smith entered the backmarkers on the 13th tour, he was there to challenge. It was clear that Smith was struggling to maintain the lead as the race wore on and with 14 laps to go, Dewease used a smooth bottom lane run to take control away. At the same time, 11th starter Danny Dietrich of Gettysburg was blistering through the pack and on lap 18 he took the second spot away from Smith before setting his sights on leader Dewease who at that point held a 1.5 second advantage. Dietrich continually whittled away at that advantage and with three laps left it was down to about a half-second. And a lap later is when Dietrich took his shot for control with a low swoop into the first turn. Dietrich pushed the nose of his No. 48 past Dewease's No. 12 momentarily before Dewease rode his high line momentum back into control on the backchute. A bobble on the cushion by Dietrich as the pair came to the white flag then allowed Dewease to snare the win by .875 seconds. Smith rode home third followed by Chase Dietz and Freddie Rahmer. Sixth through 10th went to Brock Zearfoss, Troy WagamanJr., Whittall, Chad Trout and Kody Hartlaub. Kalib Henry was the highest finishing All Star with an 11th place run. Heats went to Dietrich, Zane DeVault, Rahmer and Whittall with Aaron Bollinger claming the B Main. Dewease won the dash. A strong field of 40 cars spun off time trials with Smith taking the $300 Fast Tees Fast Time Award with a lap of 16.654 seconds. Tony Jackson started fifth in the make-up wingless sportsman main run early in the night and took the lead from Chad Thomas on the third circuit. Jackson began seventh in the second main of the night and drove by leader Brandon Shearer on lap seven for his second victory of the night. - Three-Time Champ, Stambaugh Earns Third Lima Win of 2025 with GLSS
LIMA, OH - The Ohio CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP showed up to a version of Limaland Motorsports Park that produced intense racing throughout the entire night. After four different leaders of the race, Elida, Ohio native, Max Stambaugh found GLSS victory lane for the third time this season at his home track. Corbin Gurley and Luke Griffith led the field to green in the setting sun Friday night after a day filled with overcast skies and moments of drizzly rain. Gurley jumped out and led the first lap, but a hard-charging Jared Horstman came from sixth to take the lead on lap two. While Horstman raced away quickly to lapped traffic, the battle raged on for third through sixth as Phil Gressman, Kasey Jedrzejek, and Max Stambaugh all argued for realestate around the track. While that was going on, Horstman slapped the wall down the backstretch while trying to set-up a pass on lapped traffic, which allowed Gurley to chase down the two-time GLSS Champion. As Gurley was setting up the pass, the right front tire went down entering turn one and Horstman's No.17 came to a stop at the top of turn two. A trip to the work area to change the tires brought Horstman back onto the race track. On the restart, Gurley and Gressman raced hard for the lead, and it proved to be important as Jedrzejek was challenging for the lead entering turn three and clipped the opening in the wall to exit the track. While his No.11N didn't flip, the damage ended Jedrzejek's night. The leader at the last completed lap was Gressman. With 14 laps to go, Gressman brought the field back to life. Stambaugh made his move around Gurley to take the second spot as Gressman was catching lapped traffic. With five laps to go, Stambaugh and Gressman exchanged lanes on the track like trading cards. Finally, Stambaugh got to Gressman's inside in traffic and officially took the lead with two laps to go. Carving his way through traffic, Stambaugh opened up his advantage and held on to collect his third win at Limaland and fourth of the season. Gressman held on to second, Gurley third, Noah Dunlap fourth, and Dustin Daggett fifth. "First off, Horstman was on a roll," Stambaugh said in victory lane. "We got her trucking so I didn't lift, I can promise you that. We might have got her a little hot tonight, but this is my third win at Lima this year - you dream about [stuff] like this as a little kid." The next event for the Ohio CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints is Saturday, June 7th at Lawrenceburg Speedway. Advanced tickets are available online at GreatLakesSuperSprints.com. - Ryan gets 1st 410 Attica win; Moore stops Schlenk's win streak in late models; Schneider hangs on for 305 win
ATTICA, Ohio - Jordan Ryan has been so close to a 410 sprint car win at Attica Raceway Park over the past several years, only to see a late race pass or a mechanical issue arise. The Bellevue, Ohio resident finally expelled the demons Friday, June 6 on Burns Electric/Smith Family Foods/Ohio Contractors Association Mid-Season Championship Night to score his first 410 sprint car win at "Ohio's Finest Racing" speed plant. The victory in the Callie's Performance Products 410 Sprints is Ryan's 10th overall victory at Attica as the former track 305 sprint champion had nine feature wins in that division. Despite leading all 30 laps for the $4,000 pay day, Ryan had to execute a couple of perfect restarts to take the win over TJ Michael, Cap Henry, Bryce Lucius and Brock Hallett. "Finally! We've run second here so many times and led a lot of laps in a 410 here. We made a lot of changes to this car over the past week and it paid off. I can't thank the Russell family enough for giving me this opportunity to race and all the hard work from my dad and Matt and everyone involved in this. The car was fantastic tonight. I said a prayer to my buddy Prince (Evans)…I know he was looking down on me," said Ryan beside his Joy Ride Transportation, Meggitt's Sandblasting, Ernst Tire Recycling, Cole's Energy, Troy Sapp & Kerri Deel Realtors, Lil Craft Barn, Burn's Electric, Oscars Auto body backed #25R. Henry's third place finish will pad his points in his pursuit of a second straight All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads/ Kistler Racing Products Attica Fremont Championship Series presented by the Baumann Auto Group title. Defending Attica Dirt Nerds Podcast Powered by Propane UMP Late Model champion Kyle Moore from Mansfield, Ohio finally put an end to Rusty Schlenk's win streak at Attica. Moore led all 25 laps of the feature and held off several challenges from Schlenk to score his seventh career Attica late model win. Schlenk, who won the first six features at the track in 2025, settled for second with Devin Shiels, Collin Shipley and Jeff Warnick rounding out the top five. "The track has thrown us a curve every week we've been here. We were finally able to put together a complete night," said Moore beside his Kepling Flooring, Tye Tworg Longhorn, Joyride Transportation, Smitley Towing, Short Stop, Malcuit Race Engines, Wilson Realty, Robin Jakubick, RL Bond Septic, Hepthorn Golf Cart Sales, House of Spud, K&B Septic Service, Coffman Composites, Team Midwest Paint, Platinum Design backed #1*. Fremont, Ohio's Seth Schneider survived a broken Jacobs ladder after contact with the front stretch wall when a lapped car came down and hit him and went on to earn his second Fremont Fence 305 Sprints feature win of the year at Attica. Schneider had to hold off a charging John Ivy for his third career win at Attica with Matt Foos, Jamie Miller and Jimmy McGrath rounding out the top five in the 25-lap non-stop feature. "I knocked the ladder off of it when Bateson hit the front stretch wall and that made me really tight and that's when I went to the bottom. It was the only place I could steer at. I'm surprised no one passed me…it was pretty bad. The lapped cars moved up high enough where I could get under them. The RCF Chassis has been bad ass," said Schneider beside his Josh Kromers Seamless Gutters, Commercial Glazing Systems, Overwatch Precision, Level Performance, Level Utilities, Sandusky Bay Remodeling backed #36. Miller's charge from eighth to fourth will add to his point lead in the Real Geese Decoys/Real Capz Attica Fremont Championship Series champion as he looks to repeat as the series champion. Attica Raceway Park will kick off the 43rd Annual Ohio Sprint Speedweek on Friday, June 13. - "Shugah" Shane Sexton Makes First Lightning Sprint Start of 2025 at Barona this Saturday
Warner Springs, CA — Warner Springs racer "Shugah" Shane Sexton will return to his racing roots this Saturday night, June 7th, when he straps back into a SoCal Lightning Sprint Car for the first time in 2025 at Barona Speedway. Sexton, who honed his skills racing mini dwarfs and Pintos on the San Diego County clay oval, will be making his season debut in a division he's long been competitive in. "Barona is where it all started for me," Sexton said. "Every time I go back, it feels like home. I'm really looking forward to getting back in a lightning sprint and seeing what we can do." Saturday's event marks Sexton's return to the quarter-mile oval where he competed five times in Lightning Sprints in 2024. Despite racing in less than half the SoCal Lightning Sprint Car Series (SCLS) schedule, he finished an impressive ninth in the championship standings. In those five starts, he never finished outside the top 10 and secured four top five results, including a pair of runner-up finishes to close out the season. "We had a strong finish to last year," Sexton said. "The car was really good, and I felt more comfortable every time out. Hopefully, we can pick up where we left off." A proven talent in Lightning Sprints, Sexton's standout year came in 2022. He captured preliminary wins at two of the division's marquee events—the Clay Cup in Deming, Washington, and the Cal Cup at Lemoore Raceway in Central California. That same season, he also placed second in a feature at Central Missouri Speedway. "Those wins in 2022 were a huge confidence boost," he reflected. "Lightning sprints are super competitive, and when you win at races like the Clay Cup or Cal Cup, it really means something." Saturday will be Sexton's fourth overall race of the 2025 season. His previous three outings have come in the Avanti Windows and Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series at Perris Auto Speedway. Each time, the 20-something wheelman has improved on his starting position in the 30-lap mains. Most recently, he charged from 21st to 15th in the prestigious Salute to Indy on May 24th—his best finish so far this year in 410 sprint car competition. "Running with USAC/CRA is helping me grow as a driver," Sexton stated. "It's tough competition every night, and that kind of seat time helps me no matter what kind of car I'm in." - NARC SPRINT CARS INVADE THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST FOR THE FASTEST FIVE DAYS IN MOTORSPORTS
(June 6, 2025 - Andrew Kunas) Auburn, CA ... One of the best weeks of the year for West Coast sprint car fans is here, as the NARC 410 sprint car series invades the Pacific Northwest for the annual Fastest Five Days in Motorsports, part of the "Road to the Dirt Cup." Five consecutive nights of action at as many tracks across two states are on tap, gradually moving north up the I-5 corridor. For most of the tracks, it will represent their only 410 sprint car races of the season. All of this is ahead of the $100,026-to-win Jim Raper Memorial Super Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway on June 19th, 20th and 21st. It all begins Wednesday, June 11th at Southern Oregon Speedway outside of Medford. The next night sees the series visit the Douglas County Dirt Track in Roseburg, followed by a visit to Cottage Grove Speedway, a short drive from Eugene. The final Oregon stop on Saturday, June 14th is Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, near Salem. The final day, Sunday the 15th, sees the NARC sprint cars cross the Columbia River into Washington and head to Elma for the annual Father's Day Timber Cup at Grays Harbor Raceway. Drivers from up and down the West Coast have committed to running all or at least part of the Fastest Five Days in Motorsports. And many fans will be traveling with them for the ultimate sprint car "road trip." Dominic Scelzi, the two-time NARC champion from Fresno and one of the most popular with Northwest race fans, is among those expecting to compete the entire week, and hoping for some good luck to come his way after some recent difficulties. Scelzi won last year's Timber Cup at Grays Harbor Raceway, one of his 23 career NARC triumphs, and hopes for more of that in this year's Fastest Five Days aboard the Gary Scelzi Motorsports No. 41. Reigning NARC champion Justin Sanders of Aromas has had the very meaning of an "up and down" season but has two NARC victories this season and is a still a threat to win on any given night. The 2024 "King of the West" is coming off a recent Top 5 finish at the Dave Bradway Jr Memorial and wants to stay on the "up" side of things aboard the Mittry Motorsports No. 2x during the Fastest Five Days. Dominic Gorden of Clovis is riding high with momentum himself aboard the Fortitude Driver Development No. 10, coming off a lucrative victory at the Dave Bradway Jr Memorial. The winner of two NARC events in his short sprint car career, the young driver is hoping that momentum from the Bradway continues, and he adds to his win total during the Fastest Five Days. One big name arriving in the U.S. this week is Australian superstar James McFadden, who will be piloting the Tarlton Motorsports No. 21 entry for the Fastest Five Days and the Dirt Cup at Skagit. McFadden, the winner of 12 World of Outlaws and three High Limit Racing events, was also the winner in January of the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic, Australia's largest sprint car race. Having previously won a NARC event; McFadden is anticipated to immediately compete with the Tarlton team. This team has already experienced success this season with Tanner Holmes as the driver, including securing a NARC victory at Thunderbowl Raceway in May. Many more drivers from California will be making the trip to the Northwest, including former NARC Rookie of the Year Caeden Steele, who recently won his first NARC feature, and 2025 rookie candidate Mariah Ede, both from the Fresno area, along with former NARC champions DJ Netto of Hanford, Bud Kaeding of Campbell, and Sean Becker of Oroville. Benicia's Billy Aton, winner of one NARC feature in his career, is expected also along with a number of drivers who are strong candidates for their first NARC wins, including Lemoore's Gauge Garcia, Rio Oso's Landon Brooks and Tucson's Nick Parker. Angelique Bell from Sacramento, Redding's Max Mittry, John Clark of Windsor, and Laton's Geoffrey Strole are all also expected to join. NORTHWEST DRIVERS DEFENDING THEIR TURF Speaking of Tanner Holmes, the young driver from Jacksonville, Oregon has been looking forward to this stretch of races in his home state and region. After racing for the Tarlton team, Holmes will jump into his family's No. 18T for this week's races and looks to perform well in front of friends and family. Southern Oregon Speedway will always be a special place to Holmes as last year's Fastest Five Days opener saw Holmes win his first NARC race. Holmes has won sprint car features at all four of the Oregon tracks NARC is visiting, including already this season at Cottage Grove, and hopes that it translates to more NARC success. Tyler Thompson, piloting the Main Motorsports No. 35km, is also racing on home soil this week. The Harrisburg, Oregon driver is a former track champion at Cottage Grove Speedway. Chasing NARC Rookie of the Year honors and sitting third in point standings, Thompson is hoping his familiarity with the Oregon tracks can be a spark, as he is one of the drivers pursuing his first NARC feature victory. It would also surprise absolutely none of the Oregon sprint car fans if Tyler Thompson and Tanner Holmes wound up racing each other with a victory on the line at any of the four races in the Beaver State. Whether it's in their family cars or racing for others, Thompson and Holmes have always seemed to find themselves racing around each other, going back to their younger days racing limited sprint cars. It's continued in the 410 ranks as the young men have found themselves racing each other for position multiple times in NARC competition this year. Drivers from Washington state and British Columbia are expected to venture down for all or part of the Fastest Five Days in Motorsports. One will be Cobble Hill, B.C.'s Robbie Price, a former Dirt Cup winner who won his first NARC race at last year's Willamette Speedway event. Jesse Schlotfeldt of Arlington, Washington will be a driver from the Evergreen State to watch. Schlotfeldt is a 410 winner at Skagit this season and also has wins this spring at both Douglas County Dirt Track and Grays Harbor Raceway in non-NARC competition to his credit. Schlotfeldt had indicated his plan to run the entire week and hopes to be a first-time NARC winner sometime during the week. Levi Klatt from British Columbia, a former Skagit Speedway track champion, has said he will run at least the first three races in Oregon, and depending on how things go sticking around for the last two races are a possibility for him. Medford, Oregon's Camden Robustelli, a standout from dwarf cars who has been finding success in limited and 360 sprint cars, has gotten his feet wet in 410 sprint cars and plans to get seat time against the stars of NARC. Robustelli indicated his plans to run at least four Oregon races, but if things go well, he may continue north to Elma for the Timber Cup and to Skagit for Dirt Cup. Medford's Blaine Cory, who made his NARC debut at April's Mini-Gold Cup, is expected to get more seat time against the best of NARC and run the entire week. Puyallup, Washington's Trey Starks, twice a NARC winner in the past and a High Limit Racing winner last year, is anticipated to appear at a couple of races towards the end of the week. Starks is a former NARC winner at Grays Harbor Raceway and already has numerous Skagit Speedway wins this season. While regularly racing Skagit Speedway, Starks is usually a contender wherever he goes and same goes for when he shows up at a NARC race. - Great Lakes Super Sprints Head for Limaland and Lawrenceburg
Merrill, MI - The Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP (GLSS) are geared up for a doubleheader weekend with a pair of events for the Ohio CAT division this Friday and Saturday night. The action begins Friday at Limaland Motorsports Park for the Ron Kahle Jr. Memorial before heading down to Lawrenceburg Speedway for the loan stop in southern Indiana this season. The first three races at Limaland have seen just two different winners so far. Hometown driver and three-time and defending GLSS Champion, Max Stambaugh, took the first two appearances at Limaland with wins on May 2nd for the Ohio CAT Division opener and then again on Saturday, May 16th during the Run for the Rabbit, Stambaugh's first. On May 23rd, Kasey Jedrzejek made his first appearance of 2025 with GLSS and made it count, holding off a hard-charging Nate Dussel, on his way to victory lane for the first time this season. In 2024, Lawrenceburg Speedway hosted nearly 30 cars in the first-ever visit for GLSS. Jedrzejek set fast time in the final group of qualifying turning in a 13.371. Some top names in 360 Sprint Car racing had to come through a B-Main, including Randy Hannagan, Phil Gressman, and Jared Horstman. In the A-Main, Danny Sams III, who started fourth, trailed Jedrzejek through the early part of the race, which saw several cautions on a technical race track. Jedrzejek and Sams were nearly involved in their own caution when they collided in turns three and four while working lapped traffic. The hit, which was significant, flattened Jedrzejek's tire and resulted in a solo spin in turn two. Sams went on to collect the win over Stambaugh and Hannagan, who was the hard charger, gaining 15 spots. The Championship battles are good entering the month of June. In the Ohio CAT division, Stambaugh holds a 65-point advantage over fellow Ohio driver Horstman, and a 68-point advantage over the most recent GLSS winner, Devon Dobie. Meanwhile, the battle to become and overall Tour Champion is tight. Just three points separate Stambaugh from Horstman entering the weekend. Tickets for Friday's event at Limaland Motorsports Park are available at the gate on raceday. Advanced tickets for Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday are available online at www.GreatLakesSuperSprints.com. Fans who can't make it to the track can catch all the action online at www.GreatLakesSprints.Tv.
