- New Winners Hartlaub And Merriman Visit Williams Grove Victory Lane
Mechanicsburg - A pair of new winners visited victory lane at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night when Kody Hartlaub walked off with the 410 sprint win and Cameron Merriman scored an exciting win in the Dirty Deeds 25 Finale for 358 sprints worth $3,000. Hartlaub would lead all 25 laps of the 410 sprint main with TJ Stutts trailing. His pace was slowed twice during the feature, once on lap 11 for a stopped Lance Dewease and again with six laps to go for a stopped Doug Hammaker. Hartlaub entered the rear of the field with the lead on the sixth circuit and began opening up some distance in traffic. Ninth starter Brock Zearfoss raced into fourth on lap 12 and appeared ready to continue his advance before he too slowed and pulled pitside. The leader again entered traffic on lap 18 just before the final caution flag unfurled. Hartlaub pulled away on the restart as Cameron Smith flexed his muscle and drove by point leader Troy Wagaman Jr. before going after Stutts for second. Smith briefly took the spot only to see Stutts reclaim it with five laps to go. Hartlaub would go on to score his first career Williams Grove Speedway victory by 1.691 second, worth $5,000. Stutts finished second followed by Smith, Wagaman Jr., and Anthony Macri. Sixth through 10th went to Kyle Moody, Freddie Rahmer, Brady Bacon, Jordan Thomas and Preston Lattomus. Heats went to Macri, Wagaman J r., and Dewease. Macri set fast time in warm-ups with a lap of 17.317 seconds. Cameron Merriman of Ellicott City, Md., turned in an impressive and exciting run to victory in the Dirty Deeds 25 feature for the 358 sprints. After starting third in the feature he raced into second behind leader Chase Gutshall on the opening lap. Merriman wasn't within striking distance during the early going but a lap 10 restart bunched the field and that's when he went to work for the win. For three consecutive laps Merriman thrust his No. 8 to the outside of Gutshall's No. 1a in the third and fourth turns and all three times he took the lead only to see his car slip over the cushion, allowing Gutshall to race back by before the stripe on laps 11, 12 and 13. After that Merriman regrouped and actually lost second briefly to a surging Ayden Hare. However with five laps to go Merriman was again ready to mount a challenge and after drag racing Gutshall down the backstretch he stuck to his outside into the third turn and this time made the move stick as the pair raced through the fourth corner on lap 21. And once in front Merriman was able to drive away to the $3,000 win for his first ever win anywhere in a 358 sprint car. He took the victory by 2.338 seconds over Hare, who took second with three laps to go. Third went to Gutshall with Cody Fletcher finishing fourth and Adam Carberry riding home in fifth spot. Sixth through 10th went to Dylan Norris, Derek Locke, Bryn Gohn, Jude Siegel and Nash Ely. Heats were taken by Hare, Frankie Herr and Eli Tuckey with Norris scoring the consolation race. Norris set fast time in warm-ups with a lap of 18.445 seconds. Feature Finishes 8/15/25 410 sprint cars, 25 laps: 1. Kody Hartlaub, 2. TJ Stutts, 3. Cameron Smith, 4. Troy Wagaman Jr., 5. - Henry continues 410 dominance at Attica; Shiels gets 1st Late model win; Schneider earns 3rd 305 victory
ATTICA, Ohio - Cap Henry continued his dominating season with his fifth win of the year Friday, Aug. 15 at Attica Raceway Park. The three time and defending track champion survived a late race caution to score the win on Croghan Colonial Bank/Five Star Maintenance/FE Kroka & Associates/Ohio Truck Sales Night. The Republic, Ohio driver started fifth in the 30-lap Callie's Performance Products 410 Sprint feature and took the lead from Zeth Sabo on lap eight and drove to his 25th career win at Attica and 10th overall victory in 2025. Bryce Lucius, DJ Foos, TJ Michael and Larry Kingseed Jr. rounded out the top five. "In qualifying we blew a power steer line and me being a very unprepared race car driver I didn't bring a spare uniform so Mike Bores let me borrow one of his. The guys did a good job after qualifying getting the power steering changed out. That car was fast and it was fun…it's fun when your stuff's that good and you can just move around. Zack (Myers) did a bunch of stuff we haven't done all year and I'm just glad he's working on my car and I get to drive this thing," said Henry beside his Premier Planning Service, Jeff Ward Demolition, Ohio Logistics, Primal Tee Shop, Innovative Excavating, Elliott's Custom Trailers and Carts, FK Rod Ends, King Racing, Griff's Engines; Berryman Racing Shocks, Callie's Performance Products, Dyers, Power Cool Manufacturing, SCS Gearbox, Tony Elliott Foundation backed #33W. Since no one could defeat Henry, the Attica Raceway Park bounty increases to $600 next Friday. Britton, Michigan's Devin Shiels, a five time Attica track champion in the Dirt Nerds Podcast Powered by Propane UMP Late Models, has been held winless in 2025 at "Ohio's Finest Racing" speed plant. That came to an end Friday as Shiels took the lead from Larry Bellman on lap five and held off numerous late challenges from Matt Irey and Kyle Moore to score his 21st career victory at Attica. Irey, Gregg Haskell, Collin Shipley and Ryan Markham rounded out top five. While battling for the lead with seven laps remaining, Moore, the current and defending Attica point leader, got into the front stretch wall, ending his night. With the victory, Shiels collected the $500 for the bounty the track put on Moore. "I figured Kyle would be ripping the lip and doing something crazy here…he's pretty darn good here. It was a pretty demanding track, I think I heated up pretty good. We've led some here this year and broke a lot of stuff," said Shiels beside his Magic Fountain Auto Wash, Rally's Hamburgers, Dundee Products, Banshee Graphics, Salenbein Trucking & Excavating; T-Town Lawn Care, Dirt Nerds Podcast,Continental Service, Emerson's Cigar Lounge backed #51. While the stats show he led all 25 laps of the feature, Fremont, Ohio's Seth Schneider had to hold off a hard charging Blayne Keckler the final five laps to score his third win of the season in the Fremont Fence 305 Sprints at Attica. It's Schneider's fourth overall victory of 2025 and his fourth career win at Attica and it came over Keckler, Logan Mongeau, John Ivy and Steve Rando. Defending track champion and current point leader Jamie Miller was involved in a heat race crash and did not compete in the A-main so the bounty on him increases to $600 should someone defeat him next Friday. "That motor gets it. I have to thank Bryan (Sebetto) for letting me run it all year. That thing is bad ass…thanks Level Performance. Kevin (Schlachter, car owner) did a lot of homework and learned a lot over the off-season. He's freaking awesome…he got us here," said Schneider beside his Josh Kromers Seamless Gutters, Commercial Glazing Systems, Overwatch Precision, Level Performance, Level Utilities, Sandusky Bay Remodeling, RCF Chassis backed #36. Attica Raceway Park will be back in action Friday, Aug. 22 with the 410 and 305 sprints and UMP Late Models in action. - PASSCAR Super and Street Stocks Join the USAC/CRA Sprint Cars Saturday at Perris
Perris, California — August 15, 2025 — When the Avanti Windows and Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Cars take to the track this Saturday night at Perris Auto Speedway, they won't be alone. Heimark Distributors/Anheuser Busch will also present the PASSCAR Super Stocks and Street Stocks for their fourth appearance of the year on the famous half-mile clay oval. Heading into the night, Yucaipa's Chuck Becker and Riverside's Shaun Estes hold comfortable leads in their respective divisions—Becker in Super Stocks and Estes in Street Stocks. If Becker stays on top through the end of the season, he will earn his fifth PAS champion's jacket. Estes, meanwhile, is chasing his second title, some 13 years after claiming his first Street Stock crown. 520288057_31238809739043250_8559913822945741315_n.jpg Chuck Becker currently leads the PASSCAR Super Stock standings. Kenny Lonngren photo. Both drivers have reached their lofty positions with consistent performances. In the first three Street Stock main events of 2025, Estes has gone a perfect three-for-three. Becker, though winless this year, has finished second in all three Super Stock races. The third-generation driver hopes to finally break that streak with a victory on Saturday night. Adding to Estes' dominance, he has also won all three of his heat races in 2025, making him undefeated in every competitive outing so far. He enters Saturday with a 15-point lead over Rancho Palos Verdes driver George Leventis, son of two-time class champion Chris Leventis. George has recorded a second and a third-place finish this season. Sitting just three points behind him is two-time champion Brandon "Elk Man" Kelly of Moreno Valley. Evan Sennett (Riverside by way of Ohio) and Chad Mahony of Yorba Linda complete the top five in the standings. The Super Stock standings tell a different story—none of the top five drivers have won a feature in 2025. The victories so far belong to Tyson Talkington of Riverside (2022 champion), Tony Kinkade Jr. of Pahrump, Nevada, and Billy Griffin of Buena Park, who tied Becker for the title last year. - After Two Months Off, Brody Roa Is Itching To Get Back In His Racecar Saturday At Perris
Cypress, CA - August 14, 2025 — Fifty-six days may not sound like a long time, but for 2023 USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series champion Brody Roa, it's felt like an eternity. That stretch without strapping into his sprint car ends this Saturday night when his bright green #91R rolls into the pit area at Perris Auto Speedway for battle in the Avanti Windows and Doors USAC/CRA Series. Roa, who calls Garden Grove, California home, last competed at Perris on June 21. That night, the 15-year sprint car veteran was having his best outing of the season. He qualified fourth fastest of the 20-car field, advanced from fifth to fourth in his heat race, and earned the third starting spot for the main event on the famous half-mile clay oval. In the feature, the 34-year-old wasted no time charging to the front, stealing the lead coming off turn two on lap three. But moments later, a slide through turn four got a little too sideways, slowing his momentum. Another car had nowhere to go and made contact, ending Roa's night early. That charge to the lead — with the car handling better than it had all year — only made him hungrier to get back behind the wheel. "I am excited," Roa enthused on Thursday evening. "Not racing a ton this year and then taking two months off in the middle of the season. I have got the itch to go again. I have tinkered on the car a little bit over the last two months. I actually put it on the ground today and took some measurements. We are all ready to go. I think that kind of showed that by the end of the night, we were pretty good." The second-generation driver took the July race at Perris off as it was on the same day as his daughter Rylee's second birthday party. Even though he has not been in the car for nearly two months, Roa does not think there will be any issues getting back into the swing of things on Saturday. "Getting in the right mindset is not too difficult for me," he replied when asked if he is racer ready. "It takes a few laps, probably hot laps and qualifying to get things felt out again and get in a rhythm. As far as mindset goes, I have been doing it long enough that I can turn that mode on once we get to the racetrack." Roa is still looking for a ride or someone who has an engine to team up with for the upcoming USAC/CRA races at the grand reopening of the famous Calistoga Speedway on Labor Day weekend. "Nothing yet," Roa answered when asked if he had put anything together. "I have had a couple of conversations. Even if we found an engine and put it in our stuff, obviously, that is a lot of money for our team to go up and do it. I have got a little backing to do it. Just nothing with the right engine or right car to go and really make it worth it has come through yet. I am still open to something that might pop up. If it is the right opportunity, not just for me, but for the car owner or engine owner to do it, I will. As of right now, I am going to be watching on Flo." Fans eager to see Roa and the rest of the USAC/CRA stars in action can head to Perris Auto Speedway this Saturday. Spectator gates open at 5:00 p.m. with racing at 7:00. Tickets are $35.00 for ages 13 and up, $30.00 for seniors 65 and over, $10.00 for kids 6-12, and free for children 5 and under. The fairgrounds charge $20.00 for parking. Advance tickets are available at tix.com, and walk-up tickets will be sold on race night. For more information, visit www.perrisautospeedway.com or call (951) 940-0134. - Visiting Drivers Join USAC/CRA Regulars at Perris Auto Speedway Saturday
Perris, California — August 13, 2025 — When Heimark Distributors/Anheuser Busch presents the Avanti Windows and Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Cars at Perris Auto Speedway this Saturday night, August 16th, the series regulars will have company. Five series non-regulars — Max Adams, Marty Hawkins, Heath Holdsclaw, Chris Gansen, and Brody Roa — will take on the fastest traditional sprint cars west of the Mississippi. Also on the card are the PASSCAR Super and Street Stocks. Adams, a Loomis, California native now based in Indiana, will pilot a Dwight Cheney-owned car. The 2016 USAC/CRA Rookie of the Year and 2020 Gas City Speedway champion owns four career USAC/CRA wins. He posted single wins in 2017 and 2018 at the Santa Maria Speedway. His last series triumphs came four years ago when he scored wins two weeks apart at Kern and the Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare. Hawkins, from Santa Rosa, which is about an hour north of San Francisco, returns to The PAS for the first time in over a decade. While he is from Northern California, he is no stranger to the area, as he attended college in Azusa. The likable driver has one win with USAC/CRA. That came at the Ocean Speedway in Watsonville in 2013. He'll be driving for Cheney and Hawkins Motorsports on Saturday. Holdsclaw makes the long trip from Meadow Vista, located between San Francisco and Reno, for his second PAS start of the year. On his first trip to the Riverside County half-mile clay oval in July, he qualified 17th and placed eighth in his heat. He wrapped up the night by steering his dad, Tony's sharp #33 Maxim Chassis/Don Ott Engine from 16th to 13th in the 30-lap main event. Veteran Gansen will make his 2025 season debut on Saturday. A past series regular, the Verdemont Heights driver has been focusing on his 10-year-old son Landon's quarter midget career for the past two years. The longtime USAC/CRA competitor's family has deep roots at the track, competing in lightning sprints, midgets, sprint cars, and now quarter midgets at the track located just behind the PAS main grandstands. While Roa, the 2023 USAC/CRA champion, is considered a track regular, he missed the last PAS race as it fell on the same day as his daughter Rylee's second birthday party. Earlier this season, he posted finishes of 6th, 7th, 8th, and 21st. The latter came on June 21st. After steering his bright green #91R into the lead, the 34-year-old was knocked out of the race after contact with another car. They'll all face stiff competition from PAS regulars, including point leader Ricky Lewis, defending champ RJ Johnson, "The Big Game Hunter" Austin Williams, A.J. Bender, David Gasper, July PAS winner Tommy "Thunder" Malcolm, Matt Mitchell, and more. Tickets: Adults (13+) $35, Kids (6-12) $10, Children 5 & under free. Fairgrounds parking $20. Advance Tickets: tix.com/ticket-sales/pas/7 — Walk-up sales available at the gate. The famous track is located on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds at 18700 Lake Perris Drive in the City of Perris. - Bounties put on division leaders at Attica Raceway Park
ATTICA, Ohio - Sometimes things change, sometimes they stay the same. The dominance of the three point leaders at Attica Raceway Park in 2025 has not changed from a year ago. In the Callies Performance 410 Sprints three time and defending Attica champion Cap Henry has a 138 point lead with 4 wins in 12 races. In the DirtNerds Podcast Powered by Propane UMP Late Models defending track champion Kyle Moore has a 79 point lead with 2 wins in 11 races. In the Fremont Fence 305 Sprints five time and defending track champion Jamie Miller has a 26 point lead with 5 wins in 11 races. Going into the last three full points nights, (Aug. 15, Aug. 22 and Sept. 5) Attica Raceway Park will put a bounty on all three division point leaders. The bounty will start at an extra $500 to any driver who can beat Cap Henry, Kyle Moore, or Jamie Miller. If those drivers win Friday, Aug. 15 the bounty will rise to $600 for Aug. 22. If Henry, Moore or Miller win Aug. 22 the bounty will rise to $1,000 on championship night. "Our weekly competition is tough in all three divisions. For these three drivers to be so dominant all year really says something about them and their teams," said John Bores, Attica Raceway Park Promoter. In order to collect the bounty the point leaders need to be competing in the A-Main. Once a bounty is collected it will then be taken away from that driver. "Usually you only see a bounty in one division…we have it in all three! Im looking forward to see who can take down the point leaders and take home these bounties," said Justin Liskai, Attica Raceway Park Director of Operations. For more information go to www.atticaracewaypark.com or follow the track on Twitter @atticaracewyprk or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/atticaracewaypark and Instagram at attica_raceway_park.
- Lucas Oil Speedway Spotlight: Gennetten looks to celebrate birthday with POWRi 410 Winged Sprint win
WHEATLAND, MO. (Aug. 13, 2025) - Ayrton Gennetten turns 26 on Saturday and gets to celebrate his birthday doing what he loves, which is going fast in a 410 Winged Sprint car. The ultimate present, of course, would be to unwrap a feature victory at the 14th annual Impact Signs, Awnings & Wraps Open-Wheel Showdown Presented by Heritage Tractor at Lucas Oil Speedway. Gennetten will have plenty of family and friends on hand as it's a "home" appearance of sorts, as he's from about an hour and a half away in Versailles. "It's really important to have a lot of races close to home on our schedule," Gennetten said. "That's what is so great about the POWRi deal, having so many 410 races close to home. It's a big thing to me, having my family there. Stuff like that makes it a little more exciting knowing you can race in front of family, friends, fans and sponsors." Gennetten is set to continue his pursuit of a third straight POWRi 410 Outlaw Winged Sprint championship as he has a 40-point lead over Joe B. Miller entering the weekend, which begins on Friday at Lakeside Speedway. With two wins and top-10 finishes in all nine POWRi 410 events, Gennetten is pleased with the consistency of his season. The third-generation open-wheel racer said he obviously would like to have more than two wins in a schedule that's seen him race 30 times overall, including last week's Knoxville Nationals where he fell just short of making the big show. "It wasn't bad," Gennetten said of Knoxville. "We tore a car up at Pevely the week before and blew a motor at Oskaloosa two nights before Knoxville. It wasn't an ideal week, but it was one of those things where every time you go you learn something. I think we learned a little something about our race car and that will help us get a little better for what's coming up this week." As for the season, Gennetten said the team has been gaining speed "and at the end of the day that's what you want." He noted that three nights at the Kubota High Limit Series at Lucas Oil Speedway in late June, in which he was a top-10 qualifier in two of the nights with feature finishes just outside the top 10 all three nights were educational. "Lucas Oil is a beautiful facility. When they get the track right, it produces some really good racing," Gennetten said. "I feel really optimistic coming there this weekend. We were pretty strong at the High Limit, just missed the set-up a little bit. I think we've learned from then to now to be better so I'm obviously excited to go back. "This is kind of a tuneup for the Hockett (Memorial) and to use it as kind of a steppingstone to that would be great. I'm real excited for this weekend. It's one of the few times I get to race on my birthday." If he's able to widen his POWRi points lead, even better. Winning a third straight championship is a goal. "Coming into the season it's always your goal, especially if you're gonna run something like that, to try and win it," Gennetten said. "With the point fund being so healthy this year, it would be really nice to win it again. Also, to have so many guys running it and such a good level of competition, it makes it that much more a goal to get it done and add another tick on your resume." Whether it's POWRi, High Limit or other sanctioning bodies, Genentten said that 410 Sprint racing is probably better than it's ever been. "I think the level of competition night in and night out is probably the toughest it has been, ever, from the local stuff to the national stuff," Genentten said. "You're not gonna go anywhere in the country and race a 410 Sprint and not race against the best competition or the guys with the best stuff. "The level of guys you race against, the competition is the toughest you'll find across any sanctioning bodies. The competition in 410s is so diverse with so many good drivers, it's definitely at the top of its game." The triple header of open-wheel divisions includes the POWRi 305 Wing Sprints and POWRi WAR/MWRA Wholesale Batteries Challenge Series. - Placerville Speedway hosts Kubota High Limit Racing this Saturday
Placerville, CA…The High Rollers of Kubota High Limit Racing make their much-anticipated return to Placerville Speedway this Saturday August 16th, when the annual "49er Gold Rush Classic" invades the El Dorado County Fairgrounds. Grass Valley native and current Placerville resident Brad Sweet brings the point lead into the West Coast Swing. Sweet has a trio wins on the competitive Kubota High Limit Racing trail and sits atop the standings over Indianapolis, Indiana's Tyler Courtney; Clute, Texas' Aaron Reutzel; Knoxville Nationals runner up Rico Abreu and Myerstown, Pennsylvania's Brent Marks. With both Courtney and Reutzel sidelined due to unfortunate injuries, California favorites Giovanni Scelzi and Justin Sanders are set to pilot the NOS Energy Drink No. 7BC and RSR No. 87 respectively. Sanders brought home a runner up result last season with High Limit Racing in Placerville. Clovis driver Corey Day won the Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial at Placerville Speedway in 2022 and hopes to add the 49er Gold Rush Classic on Saturday. The two-time Gold Cup champ ran third at the event last year and is fresh off a sixth-place effort at the Knoxville Nationals. The ever-popular James McFadden was the man who captured the 49er Gold Rush Classic last season and returns on Saturday aboard the Tarlton & Son No. 21 mount. The Alice Springs, Northern Territory driver recently claimed glory at the Capitani Classic in Knoxville, Iowa. Additional drivers looking to punch their ticket to victory lane this Saturday will include past 49er Gold Rush Classic winner Shane Golobic of Fremont, along with Monrovia, Indiana's Justin Peck; Minden, Nevada's Tanner Thorson; Waco, Texas' Chase Randall; Auburn's Andy Forsberg; Bradway Memorial winner Dominic Gorden from Clovis; Suisun, City's Chance Grasty; Jacksonville, Oregon's Tanner Holmes; Templeton's Kaleb Montgomery; Fresno's Dominic Scelzi; Locust Grove, Oklahoma's Daison Pursley and more. The 49er Gold Rush Classic begins the final stretch of the Sprint Car season at Placerville Speedway. After this weekend, only two more Sprint Car races remain in 2025. The high banked bullring will play host to the NARC 410 Sprint Cars during the Pay Dirt Showdown presented by Sierra Nevada Brewing on September 6th. One week later we then finish off the championship point race campaign with the 20th annual Forni-Humphreys Classic on September 13th. "There are some big events coming up at Placerville Speedway and we hope to see a packed house at each one," said Promoter Scott Russell. "Everybody is excited to have Kubota High Limit Racing and all the national stars here on Saturday. Then in September we have the NARC 410 Sprint Cars, followed by the Forni-Humphreys Classic, which celebrates its 20th anniversary. We definitely want to finish off the 60th season here in style and it all begins this weekend." The Bay Cities Racing Association Lightning Sprints will be the companion division on Saturday.
