MERLIN, Ont. (August 23, 2025) - DJ Christie claimed the win on Saturday night at Buxton Speedway in a co-sanctioned event with the Southern Ontario Sprints and Great Lakes Super Sprints series. Ryan Turner and DJ Christie made up the front row, and Christie led all 25 laps on the fast high-banked Chatham-Kent oval. A melee on lap two saw Dylan Westbrook, Skyler Evans, and Jared Horstman taken out of contention, although Horstman was able to stay in the race. Christie drove a flawless race in and out of heavy traffic. While he led all the laps, his advantage was never more than half a second, and was down to 0.066 seconds with two laps to go. Christie was able to lock down the win worth $2,500 USD over Ryan Turner, Liam Martin, Dustin Daggett, and Darren Dryden. Skyler Evans set a new track record in time trials with a lap of 13.114 seconds, giving the 14-year-old the Ackland Insurance Quick Time award. - CALISTOGA SPEEDWAY IS BACK IN ACTION WITH THE LOUIE VERMEIL CLASSIC
(8/25/25 - Andrew Kunas) Calistoga, CA ... A big weekend awaits the NARC King of the West Sprint Car Series as it takes part in the triumphant reopening of Calistoga Speedway for the Louie Vermeil Classic this Saturday and Sunday (August 30th-31st). Fans will have the opportunity to witness the best of both worlds as the USAC/CRA non-wing 410 sprint cars share this open wheel racing program. The historic half-mile clay oval located in Napa County has not seen race cars on track since 2019. The Louie Vermeil Classic was first run in 2008. After the track shuttered and was left without a promoter during the COVID-19 plagued 2020 season, the event was moved to Silver Dollar Speedway for 2021 before going on hiatus. With Calistoga opening back up, the event has restarted and returns to its original home, which was always regarded as the home track of the Northern Auto Racing Club sprint cars. The event honors Louie Vermeil, a large figure in California sprint car racing who helped found the Northern Auto Racing Club in 1960 and saw the association through its early decades, serving as president from 1965 to 1985. Vermeil also fielded several cars during his time in racing, from the early "big cars" to sprint cars, with drivers including Johnny Anderson and Mike Andreetta piloting his cars. Vermeil, who passed away in 1987, was inducted into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in 1995 for his work in sprint car racing. The Louie Vermeil Classic started as a USAC/CRA non-wing event, and NARC joined in 2019 to give the fans both winged 410 and wingless 410 sprint cars to watch. That 2019 Louie Vermeil Classic, the last at Calistoga, saw Dominic Scelzi and Rico Abreu score victories on the big half-mile. The 2021 edition at Silver Dollar Speedway saw Scelzi and Justin Sanders win the two NARC features that weekend. More than $130,000 in prize money and awards are up for grabs at this exciting two-day show. Saturday's feature event winner will pocket a $5000 payday. Sunday's winners will walk away with $10,000. WHO TO WATCH Things remain tight at the top of the NARC point standings, with just 16 points separating points leader D.J. Netto of Hanford and fourth place Bud Kaeding of Campbell. Netto is just five points ahead of leading Rookie of the Year candidate Tyler Thompson of Harrisburg, Oregon, while third place Sean Becker of Oroville is just seven points back of Thompson. Netto, the 2019 NARC champion, won two of the first three NARC races in 2025, but has not won since May 10th at Antioch Speedway. Netto has his share of Top 5 finishes but also has some unfortunate DNF's to go with it, but remains atop the standings. Thompson is still looking for his first career NARC victory, but has been very consistent, usually finishing the Top 10 each night. Thompson, however, has just parted ways with the Main Motorsports team and is unsure what car he will be driving this weekend. Dominic Gorden of Clovis is also expected to compete. Gorden, twice a NARC winner, won this year's Dave Bradway Jr Memorial and would like to add a Louie Vermeil win to his resume. Lincoln's Tanner Carrick, who recently matched his career best NARC finish with a runner-up at Ocean Speedway on August 2nd, is also entered and looks to earn his first NARC win at one of the biggest events of the season. In addition to Becker and Bud Kaeding, other drivers expected include Fremont's Shane Golobic, Hollister's Ryan Bernal, Roseville's Colby Copeland, Fresno area drivers Caeden Steele and Mariah Ede, Benicia's Billy Aton, Oakley's Dylan Bloomfield, Auburn's Andy Forsberg, Gilroy's Jarrett Soares, Windsor's John Clark, Suisun City's Chance Grasty, and Rio Oso's Landon Brooks (Sunday only). NARC will have approximately 18 cars, with changes in travel plans for several teams. FAN INFO Calistoga Speedway is located at the Calistoga Fairgrounds at 1435 N Oak St. Seating will be limited due to high pre-race sales. Reserved seating is sold out for both nights, and some general admission tickets are available for Sunday. They can be purchased at www.racecalistoga.com. RV parking on site is also sold out. Parking is $10 (cash) each day. Fans are encouraged to get to the event early to allow time to park. The ticket booth opens at 1:00 p.m. The Berco Redwood Pavilion is open from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for race fans. There will be special wine and beer tasting events (must be 21 years of age), along with food and great music. Hot laps are scheduled for 5:00 p.m., with qualifying at 5:30 for both classes. Opening ceremonies are scheduled at 6:10 with racing at 6:30 both nights. NARC will run a 25-lap feature each night. Fans unable to attend can watch live on FloRacing. Friday night (August 29th) at the fairgrounds, the Calistoga Speedway Hall of Fame will induct six new members, one of them being NARC General Manager Jim Allen, whose association with NARC dates back to the 1980's. Frank Albert, Clyde Lamar, Rick Horton, Jim Hearn and Bobby McMahan will also be honored. More information on can also be found on www.racecalistoga.com. The Northern Auto Racing Club is the premier 410 winged sprint car series in the western United States. Since 1960, the traveling organization has thrilled fans at dirt tracks up and down the West Coast and crowned a "King of the West" champion. - Dylan Swiernik Wins Fourth Race of 2025 at Drummond
By Curtis Berleue (Drummondville, QC) | In what could be considered a breakout year for Dylan Swiernik, he picked up his fourth win of the 2025 season on Saturday night at Autodrome Drummond. The Port Leyden, NY driver led early, and then re-took the lead on lap 24 after running the majority of the race in the runner-up position to earn a $3,000 pay day north of the border. Leading the field to green by virtue of drawing the Pinnacle pole award was the #7C of Dylan Swiernik. Swiernik would take the lead early, with Dale Gosselin in second. By lap six, however, Friday nights winner Alex Therrien was able to get by Swiernik and take command of the field. The lead duo would then run the next handful of laps in the same running order, with Therrien opening up over a one second advantage over Swiernik. Behind them, fellow Quebec driver Jordan Poirier had made quite a bit of headway in the first few laps. After starting 11th, Poirier went to seventh on lap two, and took hold of a podium spot on lap three, making it all the way up to third. As the laps wound down, Swiernik began to close the gap on Therrien. With just two laps remaining he was able to get by Therrien's #21 machine to re-claim the lead. Swiernik would go on to lead the final laps, and pick up his fourth win of 2025. Behind Swiernik, Alex Therrien finished second, while Jordan Poirier rounded out the Ashley Lynn Winery podium in third. Danny Varin finished fourth, and Davie Franek completed the top five. With 23 cars signed into the pits, the field was split into three timed hot lap groups. Rifenburg Contracting fast time awards went to Davie Franek, Jordan Poirier and Dale Gosselin, while Elab Smokers Boutique heat race victories went to Dylan Swiernik, Jordan Poirier and Dale Gosselin. - Therrien Dominates Granby for First ESS Win
By Curtis Berleue (Granby, QC) | For Alex Therrien, the two-race weekend in Quebec at Autodromes Granby and Drummond is always circled on his calendar as a weekend racing close to home. Friday night, it was not only a home game for the Victoriaville, Quebec driver, but it also marked his first Empire Super Sprints victory in front of a home crowd. By virtue of drawing the Pinnacle Pole Award, Mathieu Bardier brought the field to green alongside of Alex Therrien. Bardier led the field into turn one, but by the exit of turn two, Therrien had taken command of the field. A red flag with just one lap complete set the field up for a restart, and Therrien again jumped out to a lead, but this time with Joe Trenca in tow as he was able to get by Bardier for second. With 10 laps complete, Therrien had opened up over a straightaway lead and began working lap traffic. Trenca remained second, and Jason Barney had worked his way into a podium position. Just one lap later, Barney got by Trenca using the low side of the speedway to take possession of second. Dylan Swiernik, who had started 9th, was slowly making his way through the field. With 12 laps complete, he had made his way into the top ten, and four laps later he slipped by Trenca for third. With 9 laps remaining, he got by Barney for second and set his sights on Therrien. Therrien's lead, which had opened up to over three seconds, began shrinking, but Swiernik ran out of time and Therrien held on to pick up his first Empire Super Sprints victory. Behind Therrien, Dylan Swiernik crossed the line in second, and Jordan Poirier rounded out the Ashley Lynn Winery podium in third, as he got by Barney with just a handful of laps remaining. 21 cars signed in for action on Friday at Granby, splitting the field into three timed hot lap groups. Dale Curran, Dylan Swiernik, and Shawn Donath earned Rifenburg Contracting fast time awards. In Elab Smokers Boutique heat race action, Matt Tanner, Dylan Swiernik and Davie Franek all picked up victories. The next scheduled event for the Empire Super Sprints is Saturday August 23rd at the Autodrome Drummond in Drummondville, QC. - Cannon McIntosh Victorious Combat Finale Victory with POWRi National Midget League at Macon Speedway
Macon, IL. (8/23/25) Cannon McIntosh would not be denied in exciting the crowd and earning his thirtieth career feature win at Macon Speedway, with the POWRi National Midget League, in Night Two of Cornfield Combat presented by Start2 Finish after leading twenty-four of the thirty-lap feature event. Beginning the second night of Macon Speedway rushes with talented POWRi National Midget entries, Cannon McIntosh would start the action off in a 10.980-second quick-time qualifying lap, with Gavin Miller, Cannon McIntosh, and Kyle Jones would notch the heat racing wins. Launching the feature field to green would find the high-point qualifier Cannon McIntosh and Kyle Jones battling as Kyle Jones would gain the initial advantage on the opening lap and hold the top spot for the first six laps in the feature event. Overtaking for the preferred position on the sixth lap, Cannon McIntosh would overtake Kyle Jones for the top spot as Jacob Denney and Gavin Miller would follow suit with Jones and Karter Sarff all battling within the top five. Holding steady for the final twenty-four laps, Cannon McIntosh would be masterful at Macon Speedway in earning his thirtieth career feature victory to tie him with Christopher Bell and Bryan Clauson for second on the all-time win list in POWRi history. "Super special to get to this point in my career, I felt we left some things on the table last night, so it feels good to rebound after a disappointing second place," said a thrilled Cannon McIntosh in the Macon, Illinois, winner's circle. Adding, "Feels amazing to put my name in the same category as legends like Christopher Bell and Bryan Clauson. I couldn't be here without all the great sponsors and the whole KKM team that makes it all possible". Keeping pace with the lead pack all night Karter Sarff would score the runner up finish as Jacob Denney recovered from an early race caution to drive back to the final podium placement with onetime leader Kyle Jones finishing fourth and Colton Robinson rounding out the POWRi National Midget League top five finishers in Night Two of the Inaugural Cornfield Combat Presented by Start2Finish at Macon Speedway. All Stars wins at the Grove came with Stevie Smith and Brian Leppo at the helm and Billy Pauch upended USAC at Williams Grove in 1996. Over the years the Zemco car claimed the prestigious National Open and the Open Preliminary at the track to complement wins in the season opener, Early Bird Championship and the Jack Gunn Memorial. Zemco won Williams Grove Diamond Series titles in 2004 with Mark Smith and again in 2010 with Stevie Smith wheeling. - Price Miller comes out on top of slide-fest at Waynesfield for another All Star win
WAYNESFIELD, Ohio - It was a slide-fest at Waynesfield Raceway Park Saturday, Aug. 23 with the NAPA Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champions Presented by Valvoline on Darmofal Racing Night. Ultimately it was Kokomo, Indiana's Parker Price Miller earning his third series win in a row. Price Miller, aboard the Indy Race Parts #71, secured his fourth All Star win of 2025 - the 7th series win of his career and second straight at Waynesfield. "Sometimes luck rolls your way. Earlier in the year it didn't. Cap was very fast but I was able to do a good job of changing lanes on the restarts. That was great clean hard racing and I hope the fans enjoyed that one. We had some help here tonight but is really just me and Bernie (Stuebgen) out here. Bernie works his tail off and I'm happy and I can reward him. My grandparents are here tonight and got to see us win," said Price Miller beside his Garrett Racing Engines powered machine. Pole-sitter Devon Borden jumped into the early lead of the 35-lap feature on the high banks of "The Field" with Price Miller, Cap Henry and Bobby Elliott in tow. It only took five laps before the leaders caught the back of the field setting up a torrid three car battle for the lead between Borden, Price Miller and Henry. A caution on lap seven gave Borden a clear track and he pulled away slightly before lapped traffic again came into play on lap 13. Henry used it to his advantage, driving into the lead on lap 17 after several slide job swaps for the lead with Borden. Henry was able to build a 1.3 second lead by lap 20 with Borden, a charging Nate Dussel (from eighth) and Price Miller giving chase. It looked like Henry was headed to his 13th win of the season until his left rear tire let go with seven laps to go. On the restart Price Miller, who had taken third from Dussel two laps earlier, slid up in front of Borden to regain the lead. Over the next six laps Price Miller and Borden exchanged sliders in each turn with Dussel staying within a car length. For Borden the second place run after leading the first 12 laps was disappointing. "I just didn't get the job done. My guys have given me a great car all year. We have speed and just need some breaks. That was intense racing," said the Raymond, Washington native of his CEI Craine and Rigging/Starrett Services/DB Power Washing/Premier Pallets/Baker Mobile Home Transport #45. Dussel was elated with his charge from eighth to third. "We didn't qualify or race well in our heat two nights in a row but my guys worked their asses off and gave me a great car. I was able to race with the leaders. I ran 33 clean laps and they capitalized on the two bad ones," said Dussel beside his Fausey Farms/Industrial Movers/S & S Hauling/VRF Specialties backed #1. Dalton Lane led all 15 laps of the DIRTCar UMP Modified feature but was pressured the entire way by Jeff Koz and Aaron Orr. It was his second win of the season at Waynesfield. "This is the third night in this new car and the first two times didn't go well. We made some changes and this thing was very fast," said the Botkins, Ohio driver of his Hawk Farm Drainage/Victory Machine/Connie Sidey Photography/AK Electric backed #14. Waynesfield Raceway Park will be back in action Saturday, Oct. 11 with winged 410 and 305 sprints and the UMP modifieds. - Ewing, Bidinger wins features and track titles on Lucas Oil Speedway Season Championship Night
WHEATLAND, MO. (Aug. 23, 2025) - The Late Model rookie is now a champion and Robbe Ewing did it in style on Championship Night at Lucas Oil Speedway. The Stockton driver led the final 15 laps to earn the Hermitage Lumber Late Model feature victory on Saturday night while also clinching the track championship in his first season after driving USRA B-Mods. Also sweeping his division championship with a feature win on the final night of the Pitts Homes & Realty Weekly Racing Series season was Nic Bidinger in the Arctic Food Equipment USRA Modified division. Other track champions crowned on Rempfer Memorial Season Championship Night Presented by Bill Roberts Chevrolet were Jon Sheets (Clear Creek Golf Cars USRA B-Mods), Mason Beck (O'Reilly Auto Parts USRA Stock Cars and Tim Brown (Hickamo Super Stocks). Joining Ewing and Bidinger as feature winners were Colson Kirk (USRA B-Mods), William Garner (USRA Stock Cars) and Johnny Fennewald (Super Stocks). A total of 84 cars were entered on the final night of the regular season. Prior to opening ceremonies, a majority of the them gathered four-wide on the front stretch and fired their engines in unison, then made a ceremonial pace lap together in tribute to Lucas Oil and Lucas Oil Speedway founder Forrest Lucas. Mr. Lucas passed away earlier on Saturday at the age of 83. "First and foremost, thoughts and prayers to the Lucas family," Ewing said in victory lane. "There's more to this than just the racing on the track." Ewing started third and took the lead away from Jim Greenway out of turn four to complete lap six. The Late Model rookie wasted no time opening up the lead, with a 2.5-second margin over Greenway by lap 10. A caution slowed the action at that point, giving Greenway and third-place Tucker Cox a chance over the second half of the race. But it was no problem for Ewing, as he quickly regained command after the restart with Cox moving into second. With no further cautions, Ewing drove away to prevail by 2.3 seconds for his second feature victory of the season to go with four runner-up finishes and four other top-fives. "This is how I wanted to do it. I wanted to win and take the championship home on the same night," Ewing said. "Bryan Larimore takes care of this car, week in and week out," Ewing added. "He does everything on it. I get to drive it, that's it. And we would not be here, at all, without Eric and Kathy (Johnson), my car owners (EKJ Motorsports). We kind of came together on this deal at the end of last year and we wouldn't be here without them." Bryon Allison rallied for third with Greenway fourth. JC Morton, a three-time feature winner who began the night 34 points behind Ewing, settled for fifth. Fennewald earns Super Stocks win, Brown gets title: Johnny Fennewald of Appleton City led all 20 laps for the Hickamo Super Stocks feature win, but Tim Brown's fifth-place finish was barely enough to clinch the season championship. Fennewald went from fourth to first on the opening lap. After a couple of early cautions, Fennewald held a one-second lead over Derek Brown was the halfway mark as Anglin fell from second to fifth. Fennewald was leading by two seconds coming to the white flag when the championship chase took a turn. Tim Brown, leading by 14 points over Anglin as the night began, suddenly slowed with a flat tire while running in eighth as Anglin was up to third. Brown was able to pit under caution to change the tire and tag the back of the cars on the lead lap. Brown was able to rally into fifth, passing three cars in the final two laps, which was enough to hold off Anglin and unofficially prevail by seven points over Anglin for the championship. Brown, of Stoutland, posted his 11th top-five finish in 12 starts. "It wasn't from wins, just consistency," Brown said in victory lane, adding that after the late-race drama "my wife needs to check her heart out." Jared Hays was second with Anglin third and Kenny Carroll in fourth ahead of Tim Brown. Kirk gets B-Mod win as Sheets takes title: Colson Kirk of Urbana charged from fifth to the lead on lap 14 and went on to beat Waylon Dimmitt and track champion Jon Sheets for the Clear Creek Golf Cars USRA B-Mod feature win. Bronson Wicker took command at the start and held it until Sheets, who started alongside him on the first row, passed him on the outside coming out of turn four to complete lap four. Nevada's Sheets, who already had the points title clinched before the night began, opened a half-second lead when caution flew on lap later. Kirk charged into second on the restart with Sheets continuing to ride the high groove - but the race's third caution appeared on lap seven. The race settled into a rhythm after the next restart as Sheets and Kirk broke away from the field, often racing side-by-side. Kirk was able to wrest the lead on lap 13, just before another caution slowed the action. "What a marathon that was," Sheets said. "I think it was kind of good that I was in second there. It seemed like the bottom kind of cleaned up a little better than the top." Kirk took it home from there, opening a one-second lead by lap 16 and going on to beat Dimmitt by 1.3 seconds. Sheets settled for third with Cayden Stacye fourth and J.C. Newell fifth. "It's kind of a cool deal," said Sheets, who won four times at Lucas Oil Speedway this season. "We've been racing for 18 or 19 years and never won a track championship. I've never hung out at one place for a whole year. But we kind of set our goals at the beginning of the year to get this deal done and we were fortunate enough to." Morrow Sheets, Jon's son, already had a big night and took home a trophy after winning the Kids' Power Wheel season championship during intermission. Garner rolls, beats track champ Beck in USRA Stock Cars: William Garner of Lebanon led all the way to capture the O'Reilly Auto Parts USRA Stock Cars feature as he outdistanced track champion Mason Beck by nearly six seconds in a caution-free feature. Pole-starting Garner grabbed the lead at the green and set a fast pace, with a 2.6-second lead over Dawson Fennewald just five laps into the event. As Garner kept pulling away, Fennewald, Beck and James McMillin battled it out for second. Garner led Beck by 5.4 seconds - or an entire straightaway - by the halfway point on lap 10. Without any cautions to steal his big margin, Garner kept rolling and went on to beat Beck by 5.99 seconds in the green-white-checker 20 lapper. The win was Garner's third of the season. He entered the night trailing Beck by an insurmountable 106 points. "I was just trying to hit my marks," Garner said. "I was starting to get a little tight at the end. We were trying some stuff here before (USRA) Nationals comes up and have a good hot rod for that. We had a pretty good race car." Urban'a Beck, after narrowly missing the title a year earlier, was able to enjoy his title by simply starting the main event. He also was a track champ in 2023. "It's kind of a redemption year for us," Beck said. "Last year, every time we turned around we had some really bad luck, something breaking or getting took out by some knucklehead. But we had a pretty decent year for as short as our schedule is." Fennewald came home third with McMillin fourth and Zach Zeugin fifth. Bidinger claims USRA feature, season title: Nic Bidinger of Perry, Kan., finished off a track championship in the Arctic Food Equipment USRA Modifieds by dominating the 20-lap feature. He led every lap and defeated runner-up and fast-closng Bobby Williams by about three car lengths. Bidinger had the championship clinched before the green, but left no doubts. He started up front and rolled to the lead and by lap five was in front of Ben Stockton by two seconds with Pursley in third. Bidinger was nearly four seconds in front with just five to go. The caution-free race saw Williams slice into Bidinger's margin over the final five laps after he got around Pursley on lap 15. But Bidinger was able to get to the checkers .394 seconds clear of Williams. "We've been struggling for this one all year," Bidinger said. "It's really nice to be on the front stretch and this was our last chance and I'm glad we were able to get it done. It's so much fun to race here all year." Pursley was third, Chase Sigg fourth and Scotty Roberts fifth. - Thornton Secures Victory in Wild Rumble by the River at Port Royal
PORT ROYAL, PA (August 23, 2025) - Ricky Thornton Jr. took the lead from Chris Madden on lap 46 and then pulled away in the final laps to win the Rumble by the River presented by UNOH on Saturday night at Port Royal Speedway. Thornton not only won $50,000 but also received a $7,500 bonus from UNOH for leading the championship points at the end of the night, now holding a 10-point lead over Jonathan Davenport, who finished fifth in the 50-lap race. Madden, who led the most laps during the race, finished in second, while Devin Moran rounded out the Big River Steel Podium in third. Brandon Sheppard took the fourth spot ahead of Davenport. Madden maintained a strong lead for the first 23 laps until Thornton, who started sixth, charged into the top spot on lap 24. Thornton then led until lap 37, when Madden executed a slider on turn two to reclaim the lead as Moran moved up to second place. Madden then led Moran and Thornton until a caution with 41 laps completed bunches the field for a single-file restart with nine laps to go. Thornton, who restarted in third, got by Moran on lap 45 and Madden on lap 46 to retake the lead for good, which he held to the finish line, winning by 1.7 seconds to complete a sweep of the weekend at Port Royal. Thornton won all three Lucas Oil races at Port Royal in 2025, as he also went to victory lane back in April at "The Speed Palace." In Lucas Oil Victory Lane for the 12th time this year and for the 54th time in his career, Thornton had to earn his fourth career win at Port Royal. "I just hoped I got back to him (Madden). It almost sounded like he was firing a little bit before I was (on the restarts), so he would get a little bit of a run down the hill. The first time, he didn't slide me, and you, I thought maybe he's not going to slide me, so on the next restart, he slid me. It was either wreck or get wrecked there. I started driving pretty hard against the wall to get sideways and try to get by Devin, and at that point, it was really the right move. I knew Devin was going to run the wall for a couple of laps, but he wouldn't really commit up there. He would get his right rear close to the fence, but you almost had to get the right front in the fence and just hold it on the floor and pray it doesn't turn bad turns," said the Chandler, Arizona native. "I got by Devin and slid past him there in three. He tried, I think, to drive it harder into the corner, and I believe that backfired on him instead of just slowing down to cross me like he did the time before. I reached second, and after that, I didn't hit the throttle again until I got to turn one. I just wanted to make sure I caught up to Madden, and once I did, I aimed to position myself so he couldn't cross me or beat me into one and slide me again. This time, he didn't slide me, so I was ready for it—I entered in a way to ensure I could turn. He didn't slide all the way across, so I stayed on the throttle around the wall. Once I was in front, I knew I had to drive as hard as I could and pray another yellow flag wouldn't come out. Luckily, it worked out for us." Madden, who finished second a week ago in the Topless 100, collected another $20,000 check for car owner Kale Green with his second-place run Saturday night at Port Royal. "We were racing for 50 grand and had a good restart. We drove into one there, and I had him cleared in the middle of the corner. He could have turned left or hit the brakes or whatever, but he slid into me in three and four, and I had to hit the brake. It is what it is. We had a great race at the end. Thornton got the job done, and we had a great race car tonight. Thanks to all the fans for coming out." Moran, who moved into third place in the championship points ahead of Hudson O'Neal, completed the Big River Steel Podium in third. "Man, I've got a good car, so for some reason I can't get that top run. I've tried and tried, but I just can't make the speed up there like Ricky. However, I am starting to figure this place out a little more. I was good the first couple of times I came here, then I really struggled for probably two or three years. Now I feel like I'm in the top five, top three, top two. We just haven't got that win, but we've got a good package, and I'm starting to get the hang of this place." The winner's Koehler Motorsports Longhorn Chassis is powered by a Cornett Racing Engine and sponsored by Hoker Trucking, Knight's Companies, Coltman Farms Racing, Ultimate Towing and Recovery, Elite Ready Mix, Capital Waste, Bilstein Shocks, Sunoco Race Fuels, EMD Wraps, and Certified Inspection Services. Completing the top ten were Mike Marlar, Max Blair, Gregg Satterlee, Brandon Overton, and Hudson O'Neal.
