- Pierce Pockets Show-Me 100 Record $75,000
WHEATLAND, MO (May 24, 2025) - Bobby Pierce started from the eighth position to claim his second career Show-Me 100 victory on Saturday night at Lucas Oil Speedway, earning a record $75.000 for the win. Pierce, who won the race in 2017, led the final 32 laps to secure a lucrative victory, marking his 14th overall win this season. Jonathan Davenport came home in second, followed by Hudson O'Neal in third, as he fell short of a weekend sweep. Devin Moran finished fourth, and Daulton Wilson rounded out the top five drivers. O'Neal, who was seeking his fifth straight win at Lucas Oil Speedway, jumped to the lead at the start and would lead the first 19 circuits of the race until Davenport, who started third, moved into the top spot after hounding O'Neal from the drop of the green flag. Davenport maintained the lead until a restart on lap 44, when O'Neal retook the lead with an outside move on lap 45. O'Neal led for three laps before Davenport reclaimed the lead on lap 48, as an exciting battle for the race lead continued. Davenport and O'Neal ran first and second until Pierce, who started on the outside of the fourth row, moved into second by lap 66. Three laps later, he made a move for the lead, throwing a slider on Davenport on lap 69 to take over the top position. Pierce would then battle traffic in the final 30 laps as he and Davenport navigated through it, eventually gaining enough breathing room to win by just over 2 seconds ahead of Davenport at the finish. Pierce's 25th career victory in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presented by FloRacing marked his first win of 2025 and his first since claiming Carl Short's Dirt Track World Championship at Eldora Speedway last October. "The cushion was tough, you know how this track with the wall is, it doesn't really build a cushion on the track. It had a little rut there, you kind of set your right side tires in, and sometimes it would grab and go, and sometimes it would toss you, and sometimes it would make you lose, so it was tricky to hit every lap. That's how this track has been all weekend, it's a very finesse race track, like you can lose a lot of ground with one mistake like that. It was a really fun race track. I was waiting for that track all weekend. I know with the possibility of rain, they were taking it easy with track prep, and man that was a lot of fun," said the Oakwood, Illinois native. "I didn't think we had a car that could win tonight, we were all pretty well in the dumps. I know I was pretty negative, we stunk all weekend, we were like 5 or 6 tenths off in qualifying, heat race, we just couldn't hit on anything, and the track really came around, you could really drive it in different lines, and that's what I was waiting on. The track was awesome tonight. It's great that it pays $75,000 now, hats off to Lucas Oil for putting this on, and thanks to the fans for supporting it." Davenport, the defending race winner, was looking for his third career win in the crown jewel event. He led the most laps (55) during the race and came home in second, earning a $25,000 payday. "It was really tough to lead tonight, the line moved a lot there until the very end, hats off to the track prep crew. Lucas Oil Speedway is awesome whenever it moves around like that. I wish it had made that last change and pushed the cushion over the top, because obviously, I didn't set up to run around the cushion, you know, I kind of run the middle to the bottom, and we really made big gains today. Then, once we could run around the middle to the bottom, we were really good there. I was kind of messing with the lapped cars there a little bit and not trying to be super aggressive, and I tried to move through as quickly as possible." O'Neal was looking to pick up a $5,000 bonus if he won the race to take his winnings to $100,000 for the weekend, rounding out the Big River Steel Podium in third. "We just missed it a little bit. We just weren't prepared for the way the race track was. We thought it was going to slow down way more so we weren't real concerned about maybe freeing it back up a little bit for the mud we thought it was going to get slow and kind of like it had for the first two nights, just missed it a little bit, all-in-all it was a great race, it turned out to be an awesome race track. We had a great week, we can't hang our heads over a third-place finish." The winner's Longhorn Chassis is powered by a Vic Hill Racing Engine and sponsored by Low Voltage Solutions, Rio Grande Waste Services, Churchill Transport, Collins Brothers Towing, Mesilla Valley Transportation, Toyota of Danville, Carnaghi Towing and Repair, Ted Brown's Quality Paint and Body Shop, Fast 1 Speed Shop, Leka Tree Services, Floyd's Waste Systems, DuraMAX Racing Oil VP Fuels, and Bert by Budda. Completing the top ten were Carson Ferguson, Ricky Thornton Jr., Brandon Overton, Brandon Sheppard, and Donald McIntosh. - Pierce finds the groove, outruns Davenport to capture 33rd annual Show-Me 100
WHEATLAND, MO. (May 24, 2025) - Bobby Pierce flew under the radar the first two nights of Show-Me 100 weekend, with so-so finishes by his own lofty standards. Not even the 28-year-old Dirt Late Model star felt overly confident heading into the big-money finale. "I think we were all down in the dumps," Pierce said. "I think we had a few believers on our team. I know I was pretty negative. We sucked all weekend. We just couldn't hit on anything." Pierce and his Longhorn chassis roared to life in a big way as the 33rd annual Show-Me 100 Presented by Missouri Division of Tourism concluded Saturday night at Lucas Oil Speedway. The Oakwood, Ill., driver earned $75,000 for his second Show-Me 100 triumph. Pierce took the lead on lap 69 and clung to it the rest of the way, holding off Jonathan Davenport for his second Show-Me 100 triumph. After finishing seventh and 10th in preliminaries features, Pierce found his groove - the high groove - over the last half of the 100-lap race as he advanced from an eighth starting position. Using the cushion as the final 57 laps ran caution-free, Pierce blazed to the front. "It was a really, really fun track. I was waiting for that track all weekend," Pierce said. "I know with the possibility of rain they would take it easy with track prep. Man, that was a lot of fun. Congrats to 'JD' in second and Hudson (O''Neal) third. That was a fun race." Asked in victory lane if he felt after two so-so nights if he was confident of his chances, Pierce laughed. "Did any of you guys think we'd win tonight?" a jubilant Pierce asked his crew members in victory lane. "The track really came around and you could drive it different lines. That's what I was waiting on. I have to give a huge thanks to the (crew) guys. They worked hard all week and this win goes out to them." It was a tale of two races, with the first half plagued by cautions and the second half a blur with Pierce finding the fastest way around. "This is an awesome facility and the race track was awesome tonight," Pierce said. "I know a lot of times people go both ways on that, but tonight it was bad-ass. It's great this pays $75,000 to win. A few years back it was thirty. To see it come to this, hats off to Lucas Oil." The race had five changes among three drivers - Pierce, Davenport and Hudson O'Neal. Davenport, the defending race winner, had taken the lead from O'Neal on lap 48 before the event's seventh caution slowed the three laps past halfway. Davenport cleared off to a 1.5-second lead by lap 60 as the race started to settle in, but O'Neal and Pierce began to narrow the gap. Pierce found speed on the high side, often his preferred place to be, and went around Davenport out of turn four for the lead on lap 69. The 2017 Show-Me 100 winner maintained a modest lead over Davenport, though O'Neal slipped to two seconds behind the leader at that point. Pierce's margin was two car lengths over Davenport on lap 78 when he lost a bit of momentum in turn two - but quickly got going again Davenport could close in. It was a two-car race at that point and Pierce was picking his way through slower cars a bit better than Davenport and opened a 2.1-second lead by lap 87. Pierce held on from there, prevailing by 2.055 seconds for his second Show-Me 100 victory and denying Davenport a second straight and third overall. "It was really tough. The line moved a lot until the very end," Davenport said. "Hats off to the track prep crew. Lucas Oil Speedway is awesome when it moves around like that. I just wish it would have made that last change and pushed that cushion over the top. "Obviously I didn't set up to run around the cushion. Everybody knows I'm more middle to bottom. We really made big gains today. When we could run around the middle or bottom we were really good there. Bobby got rolling on the top there like we know he does. "Just the way it goes. Bobby did a good job. Hudson did a good job. My guys did an awesome job. I should have just been a little more aggressive earlier in the lapped traffic." O'Neal, who won both preliminary nights, wound up third with 2023 winner Devin Moran fourth and Daulton Wilson, who started 19th, rallied for fifth. O'Neal and Davenport broke away from the pack early, with Ricky Thornton Jr. five seconds behind in third, just nine laps in. That's when the first caution flew as Tyler Stevens slowed to a halt on the track. Justin Wells, the two-time defending track champion, advanced to third on the restart but meanwhile it was more of the same as O'Neal and Davenport were off and running away out front. Davenport moved other the high side as he challenged for the lead with lapped cars coming into play. Davenport then made a dive low into turn three and came away with the lead coming to the start-finish line on lap 20. Behind those two, the eighth-starting Pierce caught and passed Wells for third on lap 33. The action slowed for the second caution on lap 34 for Dalton Imhoff's spin in turn two. Davenport had a 2.2-second lead over O'Neal at that point with Pierce, Wells and Carson Ferguson completing the top five. Davenport took advantage of clean air and a clear track ahead to open a 2.5-second lead over O'Neal by lap 40, with Ferguson climbing to third ahead of Pierce and Brandon Overton. One lap later, caution flew for debris on the track as Davenport's lead was 2.7 seconds. Only two laps were able to be completed before the fourth caution, again for debris. But Ferguson slipped, allowing Overton to climb to third with Pierce fourth and Ferguson back to fifth. O'Neal used the high side to take the lead away from Davenport on lap 45, but Davenport snatched it back on lap 48. Pierce was back to third at the midway point, setting the stage for his eventual move to the front. After winning features on both Thursday and Friday, O'Neal was philosophical after being denied the sweep and a second Show-Me 100 win of his own. "We just missed it a little bit," O'Neal said. "All in all, it was a great race. Congrats to Bobby and JD. We had a great week. We can't hang our heads over a third, especially after the week we've had with two wins. We'll take it." Dan Ebert and Spencer Hughes won B-Mains. Tyler Kuykendall of nearby Warsaw, Mo., captured the Midwest Sheet Metal Show-Me Challenge for non-qualifiers. He traded the $2,500 prize for a spot at the tail of the Show-Me 100 lineup, then was the first call out of the feature and finished 27th. Of the local drivers to make the race, Dillon McCowan of Urbana was 18th, Justin Wells of Aurora was 21st and Cole Wells of Aurora wound up 21st. - Schuchart out duels Haudenschild for first Attica World of Outlaws win
ATTICA, Ohio - Logan Schuchart and Sheldon Haudenschild had a fantastic battle at Attica Raceway Park Saturday on Kistler Engines Night. The duo swapped the lead in the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series feature several times before Schuchart was able to drive away to his first ever win at Attica. Haudenschild, from Wooster, Ohio, lead laps 1-9 with Schuchart, from Hanover, Pa. taking over for laps 10-17. Haudenschild regained the top spot for laps 18-24 with Schuchart executing a slide job to retake the lead on lap 25. Schuchart survived several cautions and an open read in the last 10 laps to score his second World of Outlaws win of 2025 and his 44th career victory with "The Greatest Show on Dirt." "Sometimes it's better to be running second there for a little bit. There at the beginning I felt like I wanted to be able to follow him (Haudenschild) through traffic and kind of see what felt better. It's just tough when you are leading to be able to know when to move and where to go. I knew I could really run the top hard and Sheldon just didn't know that with the restarts that I could get a run up there. Great race with Sheldon…I know I'm not the hometown favorite but it really means a lot to me to get a win at Attica. It's a place I really struggled at in the past and got going last year. It's a hometown win for Brendon Collum so happy to get a win for him," said Schuchart beside his Drydeene-Duramax/Federated Auto Parts/C&D Rigging backed #1S. "This is just kind of gaining on it at this track, getting a notebook and getting better for when you come back. Last year I thought we were running down David (Gravel) in traffic for the Doty before we had ignition issues. We did some stuff tonight we wouldn't normally do, trying to change our way of thinking especially after last weekend at Ohsweken where we were just totally out to lunch. What used to work there in our notebook didn't. It's a fine line of going back to your notebook and giving yourself a starting point but not just being set in stone that's not what we're going to do. Use your teammates, use the people around you who help you out…I've got some smart minds around me and I have to go out and do my job," added Schuchart. For the second time in his career, Haudenschild had to settle for a runner-up finish at Attica. It is his fourth podium finish at the track with the World of Outlaws. "Hats off to Ripper and the boys. The car was really good all night. I don't think we knew where to go on those restarts. He chose the top and I was able to get him and on those other restarts I kind of protected turn three and left the door open one time. It feels good to be fast and up front every night," said Haudenschild beside his NOS Energy Drink/West Tennessee Expediting/Frozen Farmer/Maxima Oil backed #17. Leduc, Alberta, Canada's Skylar Gee scored his first ever podium finish with the World of Outlaws, bringing his Warrior Building Development/Building Packages Direcxt/Nelson Bros Construction/Pack Rat Dumpster #99 home in third. "This is huge. I felt like the only mistake I made during the entire race was the initial start. I was kind of wheeling it all over the place and Sheldon got by and Logan got by. I felt like I could pace it pretty good. We're just missing a little something," Gee said. Giovanni Scelzi an, Conner Morrell rounded out the top five for the 26th appearance of the World of Outlaws at Attica Raceway Park. Fremont, Ohio's Seth Schneider held off several challenges in lapped traffic from Jamie Miller to score his first win of the year at Attica in the Fremont Fence 305 Sprints. Schneider, who scored a win the previous week at Fremont Speedway, led all 25 laps for his second career Attica victory. Miller, Steve Rando, Shawn Valenti and 17th starter Paul Weaver rounded out the top five. "This is an absolute blast…I'm having a great time. The car was fast all night. The lapped cars were just everywhere…I couldn't even pick and choose where I needed to go and the next lap they would be in the same spot. I got lucky with the yellows….good luck is finally going my way for once," said Schneider beside his Josh Kromers Seamless Gutters, Commercial Glazing Systems, Overwatch Precision, Level Performance, Level Utilities, Sandusky Bay Remodeling, RCF Chassis #36. Attica Raceway Park will be back in action Friday, May 30 with the All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads/Kistler Racing Products Attica Fremont Championship Series Presented by the Baumann Auto Group 410 Sprints, the Real Geese Decoys/Real Capz AFCS 305 sprints and the Dirt Nerds Podcast Powered by Propane UMP Late Models in Action. - Noah Gass Gains Victory with POWRi 410 Outlaw Sprints at Lake Ozark Speedway
Eldon, MO. (5/24/25) Noah Gass would lead the final seven laps on his way to winning with the POWRi Honest Abe Roofing 410 Outlaw Sprint League in Night One of WingFest presented by Start2Finish TV to notch his second league victory and earn the hard-fought feature victory at Lake Ozark Speedway. Speeding up excitement onto the smooth surfaces of Lake Ozark Speedway with twenty-one talented entrants of the POWRi 410 Outlaw Sprints would see Ayrton Gennetten set a quick qualifying time of 11.627-second lap with Noah Gass, Howard Moore, and Gage Montgomery each earning heat racing victories. Exciting the audience members in Eldon, Missouri, on the initial green flag start with high-point qualifier Rees Moran and Noah Gass lined up in the front row as Rees Moran would gain the lead on the opening lap and holding the preferred position for the first twenty-three laps appearing to be well on his way to victory lane until a miscue on the entrance of turn three would take the leader from competition. Taking over the top spot with seven laps remaining, Noah Gass would hold off all the hard-fought efforts of Ayrton Gennetten and Joe B Miller over the final restarts as Gass would not be denied in earning his first seasonal POWRi 410 Outlaw Sprint victory in an action-packed main event with Ayrton Gennetten holding the runner-up position. "What a weird night, we started the night battling issues that we never really found. It felt like I was losing speed in line but was ten times better in dirty air. Something that felt so bad could actually be that fast" said an elated Noah Gass in victory lane ceremony celebrations. Adding, "If we keep putting nights like this together I should stay in great shape for the championship. I feel blessed with everything working out the way it is". Contesting closely behind would find Joe B Miller placing on the final podium placement from the starting eighth on the initial green flag. Xavier Doney would be among the frontrunners, all feature to fourth as Jack Wagner would hard-charge past thirteen other competitors to round out the top-five finishers for the POWRi Honest Abe Roofing 410 Outlaw Sprint League in Night One of WingFest presented by Start2Finish TV at Lake Ozark Speedway. - Cameron Smith Beats Buddy Kofoid For Eash Tribute At Williams Grove - Jeff Paulson scores 305 sprints
Mechanicsburg - Cameron Smith of Spring Grove drove the race of his young sprint car career at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night, overtaking outlaw invader Buddy Kofoid not once but twice to score an $8,000 payday in the Eash Brothers Tribute Race. In other action, the 20-lap PASS IMCA 305 sprint main was scored by Jeff Paulson. Smith started on the pole of the 25-lap Eash Tribute feature for the 410 sprints flanked by California's Kofoid. And the polesitter got a good start at the drop of the green to beat Kofoid onto the frontstretch with the lead. Kofoid kept the leader in his sights early in the main and when the rear of the field entered the picture for Smith, he was there to challenge. The Californian took the lead away from Smith's No. 75 for the first time on lap nine only to see Smith muscle back in front with a power move the next time around. But Kofoid wasn't finished and again returned the favor on the 11th tour before beginning to thread his way through traffic. However a bobble and near spin on the first turn cushion by Kofoid played into Smith's hands on the 13th lap and when the door opened the talented youngster was there to drive through it. And by lap 15 Smith had built a more than one second lead over Kofoid before the only caution flag of the race appeared with nine laps to go. With clear track in front of him, Smith pulled away down the backchute when green replaced the yellow before again entering the backmarkers on the final lap. But this time Kofoid wasn't close enough to challenge as Smith instead drove to this second career oval win by 1.350 seconds. Troy Wagaman Jr. was third followed by Nash Ely and TJ Stutts. Sixth through 10th went to Freddie Rahmer, Garet Williamson, Lucas Wolfe, Kody Hartlaub and Matt Campbell. Heat were taken by Smith, Wagaman, Stutts and Derek Locke with Preston Lattoumus taking the last chance race. Ely set quick time over the 32-car field with a lap of 16.736 seconds. Polesitter Landon Price led the first six laps of the 305 sprint main before crashing out and handing the lead over to Jeff Paulson of Honey Brook. Paulson would lead the rest of the distance to score the victory over Mike Melair, Kasey Weaver, Shelby Kelly and Mike Alleman. Heats went to Timmy Bittner, John Scarborough, Landon Price and Dustin Young with Jarrett Cavalet taking the consolation race. The wingless super sportsman feature was postponed until a later date. The start of the racing program was delayed more than an hour after a rain shower hit the oval prior to the posted starting time.
