- I-96 Speedway Next for GLSS; Doubleheader weekend for GLTS Opener
Lake Odessa, MI - The Michigan CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP (GLSS) are back in Michigan Friday night, returning to I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, MI for a Breast Cancer Awareness/Mother's Day Weekend that also features the Great Lakes Traditional Sprints Presented by MacAllister CAT as they open the 2025 season with a doubleheader that also features a stop in Quincy, MI at Butler Motor Speedway. The fourth race for GLSS in as many weeks takes teams back to one of the fastest tracks on the circuit for the second time this season. In the first visit on April 25th, Scotty Thiel set fast time with a 13.813 as one of the later cars to take time. Mike Keegan, Jared Horstman, and Max Stambaugh grabbed heat race wins before Stambaugh went on to lead flag-to-flag for his first win of the season. Stambaugh doubled up his 2025 win total by grabbing another Friday night win at Limaland Motorsports Park on May 2nd. Thanks to his back-to-back wins, Max Stambaugh now holds a slim two-point advantage in the GLSS Tour Points standings over Jared Horstman and Dustin Daggett. However, in the Michigan CAT Division, a DNF to open the season keeps Hortsman out front with a 43 point advantage over Daggett and Stambaugh. Horstman was on the move in the last race at I-96, taking second at the line after starting fifth. He was also credited as the Hard Charger at Limaland Motorsports Park. The evening at I-96 will also feature the start of the 2025 season for GLTS. Steve Irwin is expected to return after another championship-winning season with GLTS in 2024. The Fenton, MI native grabbed one win last year in the season opener at Butler Motor Speedway before finishing in the top 10 in the rest of his starts, and top five in all but one. Brian Ruhlman and Max Frank, two of the historic thorns in Irwin's side, are also expected to unload their non-wing 410s on Friday night. Last season, Max Frank was the one to beat with three feature wins, one of just two drivers to win multiple times with GLTS. Frank found victory lane at Tri City Motor Speedway and Silver Bullet Speedway twice. Ricky Lewis was the other driver who took multiple trips to GLTS victory lane with a win at Waynesfield Raceway Park and Millstream Speedway. The weekend begins on Friday, May 9th at I-96 Speedway for both GLSS & GLTS. Advanced tickets are available at GreatLakesSprints.com. Gates open at 5:00 PM with racing set to begin at 8:00 PM. Fans who can't make the trip Friday night can catch all the action live at GreatLakesSprints.Tv. Saturday, the Great Lakes Traditional Sprints continue to Butler Motor Speedway alongside Winged 410 Sprint Cars and Compacts. Gates open at 4:00 PM with racing set to begin at 7:30 PM.

- Arenz tallies IRA top five at Wilmot Raceway
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) May 7, 2025 - Travis Arenz and the Travis Arenz Motorsports Team continued their hot start to the 2025 Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series campaign with a strong fifth-place showing in the Dick Colburn Classic on Saturday, May 3 at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis. The 2021 and 2022 Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion bolted out the gate by qualifying second overall in IRA qualifying with a lap of 12.899 seconds. Arenz started fourth in the second IRA heat race before moving up a spot to record a third-place finish and punch a ticket into the 30-lap main event. His qualifying and heat race efforts brought Arenz his second consecutive IRA dash appearance, during which he started second and raced to victory in the second four-lap dash to earn the outside front row starting spot in the 30-lap Dick Colburn Classic main event. The A main proved to be a bit challenging for Arenz as he dropped to fourth after Paul Nienhiser snuck past on lap 11. Following the second of two caution flags, Arenz settled into fifth place, which is where he finished the race to record his second consecutive top-five A-main showing. "The night went decently," Arenz said. "We had speed, but not enough at the end to get the job done. I'm happy with the night. But I'm not satisfied." This Saturday, May 10, the Travis Arenz Motorsports Team will head back to Sycamore Speedway in Maple Park, Ill. with the IRA 410 Sprint Car Series. The Badger Midgets and IRA Lightning Sprints are also on the card. Arenz heads into an IRA event at Sycamore Speedway facility this Saturday, May 10 as the runner-up in the last two IRA events at the three-eighths mile semi-banked clay oval track facility in 2023 and 2024. "I enjoy Sycamore," Arenz said. "We've had two second-place finishes there in the last two years." It would be nice to leave that place on top instead of runner-up this year." - 87A Hartmann Racing Team displays grit in Wilmot IRA action
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) May 7, 2025 - Austin Hartmann and the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing Team persevered through a challenge-filled evening of Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car season competition to pull out a respectable showing in the Dick Colburn Classic at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis. on Saturday, May 3. Hartmann opened the night on a good note by qualifying 12th overall in the large 37-car field with a lap of 13.185 seconds. However, mechanical issues struck the team just as Hartmann was set to push off for the first 8-lap IRA heat race. After changing an MSD box in the work area and pushing off for the race, Hartmann pulled back into the pits without turning a single lap of heat race action. After diagnosing a motor issue, the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing Team went about changing an engine for the B main. Stellar crew work allowed Hartmann to return to the track and start from the pole in the 12-lap B Main where he wound up second to advance to the Dick Colbun Classic main event. With a fresh motor under the hood, Hartmann rolled to a 19th-place finish in the 30-lap main event. "It was another night where we struggled," Hartmann said. "On a good note, we have the balance of the car right, so we are going in the right direction. On the downside, we hurt an engine before the heat race. But the team was able to get it changed in time to get us back out for the B main. It's been a rough start to the season. One of these races has to go our way soon." This Saturday, May 10, Austin Hartmann and the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing Team are scheduled to return to Sycamore Speedway in Maple Park, Ill. with the IRA 410 Sprint Car Series.
