- Brandon Carr Captures Feature Win with POWRi National Midget League at Port City Raceway
Tulsa, OK. (10/11/25) Brandon Carr would lead every lap of the thirty-lap main event on Saturday Night to earn his first career feature win while battling at Port City Raceway, with the POWRi National and West Midget Leagues, in Night Two of the 21st Annual Charlene Meents Memorial. Flying with early on-track exhilaration with thirty-six talented entries in the POWRi National and West Midgets would witness Gavin Miller start the action off with quick-time in group qualifying with a 10.050-second lap, as Brecken Reese, Matt Sherrell, Kale Drake, and TJ Stark would notch the heat racing wins with Ethan Mitchell and Kameron Key taking the semi-feature checkers. Beginning the feature field would find the high-point qualifier Brandon Carr and Brecken Reese battled as the green flag flew, with Brandon Carr gaining the initial advantage on the opening lap using a speedy inside line, with Brecken Reese testing the stability of a treacherous outside curb running second. Protecting the lead every step of the way throughout an action-packed main event, Brandon Carr would not relinquish the preferred position with Brecken Reese staying close on the high line as Bradley Cox, Michael Faccinto, Kale Drake, Matt Sherrell, Kameron Key, Gavin Miller, and TJ Stark feverously battled within the top ten. Clinging to the lead for all thirty laps would find Brandon Carr undeniable in capturing his first career POWRi victory as the action ensued for the full feature event, with Brecken Reese placing in the second position as Michael Faccinto cruised into the final podium placement late. "I knew I had to stay chill and keep my nose out of trouble, it feels great to get my first win at such an amazing and technical track," said an elated Brandon Carr in the Port City Raceway winner's circle. Adding, "Great team effort all weekend, they had this car so even that I tried the top once and knew I would be fine anywhere, so I went back down to the bottom and held on until the checkers." Staying with the leading pack all night, Bradley Cox continues to impress by moving forward seven positions to finish fourth, with Kameron Key moving up thirteen spots to round out the POWRi National and West Midget Leagues top five finishers in Night Two of the 21st Annual Charlene Meents Memorial at Port City Raceway. - NETTO SCORES HUGE WIN AT ANTIOCH AND PADS NARC POINT LEAD!
(10/11/25 - Andrew Kunas) Antioch, CA ... D.J. Netto had a big night in his quest for his second NARC sprint car championship when he took Saturday's feature at Antioch Speedway and added to his points lead, and also ended an extended winless streak in the process. Netto led all 30 laps for his ninth career NARC victory and was rarely challenged throughout. At one point Netto did get passed by Dominic Scelzi for the lead on an early restart that was called back for another car stopping. Netto took advantage of that break and mastered his remaining restarts, and there were several of them as there were four red flags for cars going upside down on a challenging night. Scelzi continued trying to go after Netto, but eventually suffered a mishap on another restart and flipped his car upside down. That handed the second position over to Dominic Gorden. Netto entered traffic in the closing laps as Gorden tried to close in along with Jesse Schlotfeldt but they eventually ran out of time before they could take any shot at Netto for the win. The win was Netto's third on the season aboard the Penny Newman Grain-sponsored Netto Ag No. 88n Rider-powered KPC, and it came five months after Netto's second win, which also came at Antioch Speedway in May. Happy to end the drought, Netto popped a wheelie on the front stretch and then climbed atop his car to celebrate with the fans. Netto increased his narrow lead to 12 points over Sean Becker, who finished fourth. Gorden, who set fast time in qualifying earlier in the evening, settled for second aboard the Silva's All Natural Beef-sponsored Fortitude Driver Development No. 10 Rider-powered Maxim. Schlotfeldt, visiting from Washington, earned the Williams Roofing Hard Charger nod, coming from 13th to get on the podium in his first visit to Antioch Speedway aboard the Grinder's Automotive & Marine-sponsored JRS Motorsports No. 21 Shark-powered Triple X. Becker maintained his second place points standing with his fourth place finish aboard the D&J Construction Rental Equipment-sponsored Bjork Construction No. 7b Shaver-powered Maxim. Max Mittry recovered from a mishap of his own on the initial start and came back to finish fifth aboard the Shasta Realty Group-sponsored Mittry Construction No. 19 Shark-powered KPC. Mittry changed the car number to 19 for the night to honor Chuck Wolf, who had recently passed away. Cannon McIntosh, Tim Kaeding, Dylan Bloomfield, Jake Andreotti and Billy Aton rounded out the Top 10. Heat races earlier in the evening were won by Mittry, Netto and Scelzi. Netto topped Scelzi in the Beacon Wealth Strategies - Raymond James Trophy Dash to secure the pole position for the main event. Gorden paced the 18-car field in Automotive Racing Products Qualifying with a time of 12.142 seconds around the 3/8-mile clay oval. - Fennewald captures Super Stocks Big Buck 50 and Jackson takes Late Model Fall Nationals at Lucas Oil Speedway
WHEATLAND, MO. (Oct. 12, 2025) - After dominating most of their events, Johnny Fennewald and Tony Jackson Jr. both fought off late-race challenges to bring home $10,000-to-win features on Saturday night at Lucas Oil Speedway. Fennewald held on to beat Richie Tosh to earn the 9th annual Hickamo Super Stocks Big Buck 50 Presented by Whitetail Trophy Hunt. Meanwhile, Jackson edged Chris Simpson for the Late Model Fall Nationals victory, leading 49 of 50 laps. The eighth-starting Fennewald, of Appleton City, took over the lead on lap 12 and held it the rest of the way in a race plagued by eight cautions. Fennewald was up to the challenge on each restart, en route to his biggest career victory despite some nerves from a possible mechanical issues midway through the 50-lapper. "We had a really good race car, but about lap 25 my fuel light started coming on," Fennewald said in victory lane. "On corner entry, every single lap. It was killing me. Honestly, those cautions kept coming out and I thought they were saving me, but that last restart it just died right there on corner entry into (turn) one. "I seen Richie's nose there and I was like 'come on, baby,' and I just backed out of the throttle and let it breath a little bit. It died again going into turn three and I just kind of let it coast in and got back on it. The good Lord was looking out for us tonight." Terry Schultz started on the pole and immediately grabbed the lead over Taylor Carver in the early going, with eFennewald rolling all the way into second by lap six. A lead that was once more than than a second was cut by Fennewald to .256 seconds by lap 11 and Fennewald took the lead the next time around with an outside pass out of turn four. Fennewald opened a one-second lead by lap 15 with J.T. Carroll third. As the leaders began dealing with lapped traffic, Fennewald continued to build on his lead and was two seconds clear of Schultz on lap 20. The top groove continued to be Fennewald's friend until a lap-24 caution, as fifth-running Neil Kemp lost a wheel entering turn one, wiped out his 2.6-second lead over Schultz. Fennewald needed only two laps to restore a 2.5-second lead, but the event's fourth caution appeared on lap 26 as Carroll slowed and had to exit the track. Just before the caution, 2017 Big Buck 50 winner Tony Anglin, who started 12th, took over third. The restart saw Anglin pass Schultz on the outside for second. Before Anglin could make a run at Fennewald, a lap-29 caution again slowed the field. Anglin slipped on this restart, falling back to fifth with Schultz driving back into second with 20 laps remaining. Fennewald took advantage of the shuffling to quickly open a 1.5-second lead before caution No. 6 flew on lap 34. Fennewald had another clean restart and was 1.1 seconds in front when another caution appeared on lap 40. Tosh got around Schultz on the restart, but green-flag action only lasted two circuits until the eighth caution of the race came out as two cars got together in turn two. Tosh stuck to the low groove with Fennewald up high after the restart. Fennewald was able to stave off the challenge and beat Tosh by 1.14 seconds at the checkers. "Man, we've been preparing for this race for quite a while," Fennewald said. "I don't even know what to say, but it's pretty awesome." Fennewald also won a spot in the Whitetail Trophy Hunt next month in mid-Missouri, with the winner of that taking home $15,000. Fennewald said he isn't sure if he or his son will take the entry. "This is pretty unbelievable," Fennewald said. "These guys put on this $10,000-to-win Big Buck 50 and it's so awesome they brought it back. This is like a dream come true. I really wish (three-time defending champion Peyton Taylor) had been here to defend it. It would have been a hell of a race if he'd have been there. I watched him come from the back to win it last year." Derek Brown finished third with Schultz fourth and Aaron Poe coming home fifth. Tosh, of Salado, Ark., was driving a car owned by Tony Jackson Jr. He made Fennewald work for it at the end, though all the restarts made it a grind for him as well. "I had a real good car," Tosh said. "It ought to have been entertaining. I was ready for it to be over with, I promise you. What a weekend." Jacob Rexing earned $500 from Alamo Arms as the first non-qualifier for the feature. Past winners of the Big Buck 50 are Peyton Taylor (2024, 2020 and 2019), Tony Anglin (2017), Tim Brown (2016), Jeremy Russell (2015) and Terry Schultz (2014). The event was rained out in 2018 and there was not a Big Buck from 2021-23. Jackson hangs on in Late Model Fall Nationals: Tony Jackson Jr., of Lebanon was holding a comfortable lead as the laps clicked away in the 50-lap Late Model Fall Nationals. But a late-race caution - just like in the Super Stocks race - presented some drama and Jackson was up to the challenge. Jackson held off Chris Simpson of Oxford, Iowa, for a half-second victory in the unsanctioned Late Model event. He led all but the opening lap. "I've got like a love-hate relationship with this place," Jackson said, noting an 11th-place finish on Friday night. "I either run really good or really bad. We worked it over today." Jackson grabbed the lead on lap two after Mason Oberkramer paced the opening circuit. Jackson forged a 1.8-second lead when the first caution flew on lap nine when Tyler Wolff, running third at the time, spun and grazed the wall in turn four. Simpson took second away from Oberkramer on the restart as Jackson quickly opened a 1.5-second lead. The leader's margin reached 1.8 seconds on lap 17 before Simpson began to cut into the gap as a sustained green-flag run continued. As the leaders began to navigate lapped traffic, Jackson extended his cushion to 2.4 seconds by the midpoint on lap 25 and pushed it to more than three seconds by lap 28. He kept cruising from there as the race stayed caution-free. Jackson's lead was a comfortable 3.5 seconds with just 10 to go with Simpson well ahead of Oberkramer. That's how they stayed until lap 47, when caution came out as Brandon Conkwright spun in turn three right in front of the leaders. Jackson, with a 2.4-second lead, avoided Conkwright. But that gave new life to his pursuers for a three-lap sprint when action resumed. "Chris is one of the best racers you'll race with," Jackson said. "Any time you restart with him behind you, there's a chance he's going to slide by you. We just stuck with the lane we'd been running that got us to the lead and hoped for the best." Simpson made a run at Jackson on the inside as the green waved, but Jackson was able to hold him off and win by .557 seconds. Simpson settled for second for the second straight night with Oberkramer third, Dillon McCowan fourth and Gordy Gundaker taking fifth. "We were good," Simpson said. "Just the way the lapped traffic laid out, it seemed like Tony would get by 'em and they would all come up to the top and block me, but it's a part of it. It sucks running second, but I can't complain. A lot of guys wish they could be standing here. "This is our last race of the year. We'll take a second and move on." Frank Heckenast Jr. had the fast qualifying lap at 15.932 seconds, out of Group B. Jaxon Ertel paced Group A at 16.050. Tulsa, OK. (10/10/25) Cannon McIntosh would use a mid-race restart to take the lead and never look back in earning his thirty-first career feature win while battling at Port City Raceway with the POWRi National and West Midget Leagues in Night One of the 21st Annual Charlene Meents Memorial. Kicking off the on-track excitement with thirty-nine talented entries in the POWRi National and West Midgets would find Gavin Miller started the action off with a quick-time in group qualifying by posting a 10.290-second lap as Andrew Felker, Kale Drake, Michael Faccinto, Trey Marcham, and Alex Sewell would notch the heat racing wins with Kyle Jones and Cooper Miller taking the semi-feature victories. Beginning the feature field after a quick shower to help the racing surface would find the high-point qualifier Kale Drake and Michael Faccinto led the field to the green flag, with Kale Drake gaining the initial advantage on the opening thirteen laps. Using a mid-race restart to perfection, Cannon McIntosh would take the top spot over utilizing the speedy high-line around Port City Raceway with action aplenty filling out behind the leader as Kale Drake, Trey Marcham, Ethan Mitchell, and Gavin Miller tried to stay within striking distance. Holding steady over a restart with eighth laps remaining, Cannon McIntosh would not be denied in claiming his fifth win of the season as leader of one lap, Trey Marcham, would place an impressive runner-up, with Ethan Mitchell rounding out the podium placements. "We had a good start on the top where the momentum was, and it was key to picking up the win," said Cannon McIntosh in the Port City Raceway winner's circle. Adding, "Great to get our footing under us early tonight as we knew what we had to do all night to execute the victory. Fly out to California tomorrow to get into the sprint car, but tonight we celebrate the win in the midget." Keeping pace with the front all event, previous night winner Michael Faccinto would finish fourth with Gavin Miller advancing ten spots to round out the POWRi National and West Midget Leagues top five finishers in Night One of the 21st Annual Charlene Meents Memorial at Port City Raceway. - Hilsabeck breaks through at Lucas Oil Speedway with Late Model Fall Nationals triumph
WHEATLAND, MO. (Oct. 10, 2025) - It was all Daniel Hilsabeck on Friday night at Lucas Oil Speedway as the Earlham, Iowa, driver led all 30 laps to beat Chris Simpson and capture the Night One win at the Late Model Fall Nationals. Hilsabeck, 35, earned $5,000 for the victory, which not only his first of the season but first Open Late Model win of his career as 34 Late Models checked into the pits. The division will have at it again on Saturday night with another full program, this time with $10,000 going to the feature winner - but Hilsabeck will not be on hand to swing for a sweep. "I've got a wedding to go to and we're leaving tonight, so we won't be able to repeat," Hilsabeck said in victory lane, before laughing that at least he will have an undefeated weekend to savor. Also on Friday night, the Hickamo Super Stocks Big Buck 50 Presented by Whitetail Trophy Hunt saw Terry Schultz of Sedalia pick up the dash victory for the eight heat-race winners, assuring him of the pole for the final-night feature. A total of 85 Super Stocks entered the action that began with Thursday-night qualifying. B Mains and the 50-lap, $10,000-to-win feature is set for Saturday night. Hilsabeck was fast all night. He set the fast qualifying lap at 15.913 seconds out of Group A with Simpson topping Group B at 16.032. Both won their heat races to earn front-row starting positions for the feature. The field ran just one lap, with Hilsabeck leading Simpson, before a caution for debris slowed the action. Dillon McCowan slid into second on the restart, but another caution for a spinning Raymond Merrill flew after just one lap under green. The disjointed first portion of the race continued with a third caution after a third completed lap as a couple of cars spun on the backstretch. Once the race settled into a green-flag rhythm, Hilsabeck pulled away to a 2.6-second lead over McCowan by lap 10 with Simpson another second back in third. Eighth-starting Tyler Kuykendall moved to third by lap 11, dropping Simpson one position. Hilsabeck encountered lapped traffic by lap 14 and McCowan responded by cutting the deficit to just under two seconds. But Hilsabeck soon was drawing off again, putting the suddenly second-running Kuykendall three seconds behind by lap 20. Simpson, of Oxford, Iowa, made his move to leap from fourth to second by lap 23, but was still 3.7 seconds behind the leader. Hilsabeck's gap was 2.8 seconds when caution flew on lap 27 after Gordy Gundaker slowed on the backstretch. That set up a three-lap shootout between Hilsabeck, Simpson, Kuykendall and McCowan. "I hated to see that caution with three to go," Hilsabeck said. "I felt like I was a sitting duck. I didn't feel like I was all that great at the end, but this is awesome. This is my first Super Late Model win. We've been getting our butt kicked this year with the Lucas Series and it just feels great." Hilsabeck handled the restart and held on to beat Simpson by a .477-second margin. McCowan was third with 13th-starting Caden McWhorter rallying to fourth and Kuykendall settling for fifth. "The long green-flag run, we started coming pretty good," Simpson said. "For some reason it took too long to get going and before I knew it, I was in fourth and raced back up to second. We had a chance at the end, but Daniel was good. He could restart really good and get out in front of us to where it was comfortable for him. "Congrats to those guys. We'll go back and work on it and see if we can finish one position better tomorrow." Schultz, of Warrensburg, followed his fast-time on Thursday night by winning his heat race and the first dash. He passed Kris Lloyd on lap four of the eight-lapper to take the win and nail down the inside front-row starting spot in Saturday night's main event. Lloyd wound up second with Richie Tosh and Aaron Poe following to finish out what will be the top four spots to start the Big Buck 50. - Valenti scores ninth win of 2025 at Fremont Speedway
FREMONT, Ohio - Shawn Valenti put an exclamation point on a fantastic 2025 racing season Friday, Oct. 10 at Fremont Speedway Presented by Gill Construction. The Fostoria, Ohio driver, who earned his fifth track championship a couple of weeks ago, held off a late race charge from stock car driver Jordan Conover to score his ninth victory of the year at "The Track That Action Built." Valenti earned his 91st career win at Fremont by taking the Showdown Series event that pitted the dirt trucks against the stock cars on Truck Worx of Ohio Night to close out the track's 2025 season. Stock car driver Jeffery Foks took the lead at the drop of the green with fourth starter Valenti taking charge on lap four. Valenti built a three second lead when the 20-lap feature's only caution flew on lap 12. Valenti fended off challenges by Craig Dippman when the green came back out but it was eighth starter Conover who was on the move, taking second with five laps to go. Conover closed quickly on Valenti as they raced through lapped traffic. Coming to the checkers Conover dove under a lapped car while Valenti went high and scored the win by .336 seconds over Conover, Kent Brewer in a truck, Keith Sorg in a truck and Jacob Rendel in a stock car. The two-race series (Oakshade Raceway and Fremont Speedway) Art Ball Cup title went to Jarrett Rendel. "This season has been unbelievable and Jeff Babcock and the guys gave me a fast truck all season long. We didn't finish out of the top four all year long," said Valenti beside his Craig Miller Trucking, Conrad Transportation, Dave Story Equipment, A Plus Auto Center, Smolders Speed Concepts, Holman Drilling, S&S Hauling and Excavating #7B truck. The Fremont Speedway Presented by Gill Construction awards banquet will be held Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Moonshine Night Club in Fremont with the top 10 in the Fort Ball Pizza Palace 410 Sprints, Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprints and Burmeister Trophy Dirt Trucks being honored. - Michael Faccinto Flies to DRC 55 Feature Win with POWRi National Midget League at Port City Raceway
Tulsa, OK. (10/9/25) Michael Faccinto would find speed on the low line and use a late restart to perfection to earn his first career feature win while battling at Port City Raceway, with the POWRi National and West Midget Leagues, in the JST Motorsports Donnie Ray Crawford Sooner State 55 presented by Hasty Bake; after leading the final six laps of the fifty-five lap feature event honoring an Oklahoman icon. Speedy on-track excitement with forty-two talented entries in the POWRi National and West Midgets would find Daison Pursley start the action off with quick-time in hot laps of 10.190-second lap as Cooper Miller, Ethan Mitchell, Cannon McIntosh, Kale Drake, and Jacob Denney would notch the heat racing wins with Andrew Felker and Jeff Stasa taking the semi-feature checkers. Launching the feature field would find the high-point qualifier Cannon McIntosh and Kale Drake led the field as the green flag flew, with Kale Drake gaining the initial advantage on the opening nine laps. Launching into the lead using a mid-line to high-side slider, point-leader Jacob Denney would hold the front of the field in the early to middle stages of the long feature with Denney and Drake swapping the lead spot a pair of times with Alex Sewell also racing into the lead for a single lap as the field would put on outstanding action behind for nearly every position. Leading thirty-nine laps, Kale Drake would bobble over a late-race restart while battling with Daison Pursley atop the tricky high-line around Port City Raceway as a low-line running Michael Faccinto kept pace with the top running pair. Flashing into the lead by using a late-race restart, Michael Faccinto would not waver from a smooth and speedy low line hustle to capture his first career league feature victory by leading the final six laps of the high-paying event as Daison Pursley held on to finish runner-up, as Gavin Miller recovered nicely to round out the podium placements. "This played out exactly as I wanted it to over the last restart, with Daison and Jacob banging on that treacherous curb up top, I was able to lock my car to the ground on the low line and hold on," said Michael Faccinto in the Port City Raceway winner's circle. Adding, "Tough race, tough place, feels great to get this win for Steve and the whole team. This is awesome, now two more nights to try and repeat, I'm ready to go right now." Remaining in the hunt all event, Ethan Mitchell would finish fourth with Alex Sewell rounding out the POWRi National and West Midget League top five finishers in the JST Motorsports Donnie Ray Crawford Sooner State 55 presented by Hasty Bake at Port City Raceway.
