- Shatzer Sails to Fast Friday Win
Dylan Shazer driving the Al Moser sprinter made the trip to the shore a good one as he won his heat and went on to take the feature. Heats kicked off the night with Dylan Shatzer and Jerald Harris taking wins on the first hot day of the season. Aaron Leach and Dylan Shatzer paced the field to green with the Shatzer out first and Leach and Jerald Harris in tow. The track was smooth and fast which made the laps click by fast as Chris Humblet made his way to forth with Matt Mullins, Matthew Leach and Caleb Harris fighting over fifth at mid-point and the leaders were just not faltering and keeping a quick pace. Caleb Harris found a new grooving getting to forth as Humblet stayed fifth with Mullins getting by Bolac for sixth. With laps winding down they were catching the back of the field but nothing was slowing the leaders as Dylan Shatzer flashed under the waving checkered flag first in the caution free feature. At the line it was Dyland Shatzer, Aaron Leach, Jerald Harris, Caleb Harris, Chris Humblet, Matt Mullins, Daren Bolac, Matthew Leach, Bill Mullis, Jacob Woods and Chris Ware. The Virginia Sprint Series takes off next week before heading to Langley Speedway for the Annual July Fireworks and Sprint Cars race on Saturday July 5th. Virginia Sprint Series Laurel Highlands Sprint Series PA Sprint Series IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Series Kenny Heffner Hub City Hauler Kenny Heffner was able to top the field even after a rain delay having to march to the front after starting the night in the last row heat in his heat race transferring to a redraw position and ending up starting on the outside front row and going on to a dominating win. Heat races kicked off the night with Kasey Weaver, Erin Statler, Ken Duke and Drew Young taking wins and Reed Thompson winning the LCQ. Mike Koehler and Kenny Heffner paced the field to green with Koehler out first but after a problem midfield in turn one had the field trying again with Koehler out first again and Heffner right behind. It was going good for Koehler until something went wrong and coasted to a stop after the start of a great run. Heffner took off again with Drew Young and Erin Statler in tow as positions through the field changed every lap. Heffner looked to be in command on every lap and even after a late caution for a spinning car he took off as Drew Young and now Kolby Weaver third gave a final charge Heffner had a great run all the way to the checkered flag. At the line it was Kenny Heffner, Drew Young, Kolby Weaver, Ken Duke, Erin Statler, Kruz Kepner, John Scarborough, Colton Hendershot, Dylan Shatzer, Jarrett Cavalet, Jerald Harris, Fred Arnold, Croix Beasom, Kasey Weaver, Reed Thompson, Breaden Varner, Zach Rhodes, Ryan Lynn, Rory Janney, Ben Miklos, Tyler Schell, Mike Koehler, Mike Melair Ken Laureno and Doung Dodson, DNS Donnie Hendershot, Daren Bolac, Matt Mullins, Caleb Harris, John Smith and Reece Raudabaugh.
