(Hartford, OH)...Sharon Speedway will close out the 97th anniversary season this Saturday night (October 10) as the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series invade the 3/8-mile Hartford, Ohio oval for the Federated Auto Parts Showdown featuring "Sheldon Haudenschild's Buckeye Brawl". The Hovis Auto & Truck Supply UMP Mods presented by A&MP Electric will also be part of the show. Warmups will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by qualifying and racing.
Saturday is a Menards Giveaway Night. There will be three drawings with one lucky fan winning a $500 Menards gift card! A second prize drawing will include a Charbroil gas grill with the third prize being a Shark Flexbreeze portable fan. Fans entering the grandstand ticket gates will receive a ticket for the drawing.
Saturday will be the season's only appearance in the eastern Ohio/western Pennsylvania region by "The Greatest Show on Dirt" and the final one of 2026 in the Buckeye State. Saturday will be part of the three-night swing by the World of Outlaws in Ohio with $18,000 on the line Thursday night at Millstream, Friday night at Mansfield and Saturday night at Sharon. The $18,000 to-win feature on Saturday night will be the richest Sprint Car event in the storied history of Sharon!
Unfortunately, Mother Nature has claimed three of the last four scheduled World of Outlaws Sprint Car shows at Sharon including the May 2 event; however, Saturday's weather is looking great with sunshine and temps in the mid-70s. The last time the World of Outlaws competed at Sharon was September 27, 2025 when Dale Blaney ended a winless drought of more than 10 years with the WoO by becoming the oldest winner in Series history at 61 years 7 months and 28 days! A huge field of 55 Sprint Cars was on hand for that event, which paid $12,000 to-win.
In 2024, two-time Series Champion, David Gravel, pocketed a $12,000 payday for his first career Sharon win. The WoO completed both events at Sharon in 2023 as the May show was won by 10-time Series Champion, Donny Schatz, for his first Sharon "410" feature win. Brad Sweet topped the September show for the second straight year in route to his fifth Series championship. In 2021, Dave Blaney won in spectacular fashion over Sheldon Haudenschild for his 95th career WoO win, but first since 1997!
Prior to 2021, the World of Outlaws last appeared at Sharon on June 1, 2007 when the "King of the Outlaws", Steve Kinser, scored the victory. Kinser leads the way at Sharon with four WoO wins, while aside from Sweet, Danny Lasoski is the only other repeat winner with victories in 2002 and 2004. Besides Gravel, Schatz and both Blaneys, other WoO winners at Sharon with one victory include the retired racers of Jac Haudenschild (2006), Jason Meyers (2005), and Joey Saldana (2002).
Entering this all-Ohio WoO weekend, David Gravel, sits atop the standings in search of his third straight title. Gravel, who has 11 victories this season, has a 142-point lead on 14-time winner, Buddy Kofoid. Sheldon Haudenschild has had an excellent first season in the KCP #18 with nine wins and sits third in points. Carson Macedo is fourth in points with five victories. Three-time 2026 winner, Logan Schuchart, is fifth over Garet Williamson, who has had a breakout season in sixth including his first career WoO win. Schatz has three wins in 2026 with two of them being points paying events and is seventh over Cole Macedo, Spencer Bayston, and Emerson Axson, who is on his way to the rookie-of-the-year title.
The World of Outlaws will bring 16 full-time teams to Sharon on Saturday to take on the very best throughout Ohio, western Pa., and beyond. Sharon has completed just six Hovis Auto & Truck Supply "410" Sprint Car events in 2026. There have been six different winners in those six events with four of them being first time winners! The average car count in those six events is 37.
The wins by invaders Logan Wagner (Western PA Speedweek), Zeth Sabo (Ohio Speedweek), Dylan Norris (Bala Management "Super Series"), and Nate Dussel (All Star Circuit of Champions) were all the first wins of their careers at Sharon. Brandon Spithaler won just the second Sharon "410" Sprint Car race of his career on June 27. And Dale Blaney joined his brother Dave as the only multiple winners of the Sprint Car portion of the "Lou Blaney Memorial" with his second event victory on August 1.
Also on the program on Saturday night are the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply UMP Mods racing for $1,500 to-win supported by Mark Thomas Ford and Wedge Motorsports. Special thanks to A&MP Electric, Holbrook Sewer & Excavating, Wedge Motorsports, and Kangaroof for their support of the UMP division in 2026. This will also be a Locals Cup event- their final points event of 2026.
