BATAVIA, OH (August 26, 2026) - Dan Ebert delivered the definition of a dark-horse performance, charging from the 11th starting position to capture the 34th Annual Topless 100 at Batesville Motor Speedway.
The milestone victory earned Ebert the $50,000 top prize, his first career Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series triumph and the $1,000 Steering Buddy Darkhorse Bonus.
Ebert remained composed throughout the demanding 100-lap crown-jewel event as changing track conditions and repeated tire failures reshaped the running order. While several of the race's early leaders encountered trouble, Ebert steadily advanced his No. 60 Late Model and positioned himself to capitalize during the closing stages.
Ebert's breakthrough on one of the sport's biggest stages perfectly represents the purpose of the Steering Buddy Darkhorse program: recognizing competitors who overcome the odds and rise to the occasion against the nation's best Dirt Late Model drivers.
