- Franek Back in ESS Victory Lane at Outlaw
By Curtis Berleue (Dundee, NY) | New Jersey's Davie Franek once again found himself in Empire Super Sprints victory lane, this time at the Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, NY on Friday night. His $4,022 victory was his second of the season, and helped him maintain third in the championship chase. Shawn Donath and Jordan Poirier led the field to the initial green flag, with Poirier jumping out to an early advantage. A quick yellow meant the initial start would be run again, and led to the same result as Poirier again took the lead over Donath and Jordan Hutton. Just two laps in, Hutton suffered a mechanical failure, subsequently ending his night. By lap four, fifth-starting Davie Franek had not only entered a podium position, but grabbed second from Donath utilizing the bottom of the track. He would then set his sight on Poirier. By lap seven, Franek had caught Poirier and again using the bottom, took the lead off of turn two. From that point on, the leaders would break away from the rest of the field until reaching lap traffic. As Franek reached lap traffic, his lead over Poirier and the lead duos lead over the field vanished. Along with Jared Zimbardi who had worked his way into third around Shawn Donath, Franek and Poirier began to search for the best way through lap cars. Lap 14 saw the caution fly for Jordan Poirier and Trevor Years, who had been battling for the fifth spot. With a clear track ahead, Franek again jumped out to the lead over Poirier and Donath in third. Ultimately, nobody had anything for Franek in clean air, and he sailed to victory. "The car was just really good rotating the bottom there," said Franek in victory lane. "I really thought the race was going to be won on the top, but I kinda had to go where they weren't." "You just gotta be up on the wheel here, it's a drivers track - Tyler gives us a great track every time we come up here. You can move around in so many different locations and make speed. It makes for great racing." With three to go, Donath got by Poirier for second, and came home in the runner up spot. "The guys made an adjustment there before the A," said Donath. "I really wasn't planning on all that water out there, it was killing us on the starts. But we had a really nice driving Donath Motor Worx engine under the hood and I'm just thankful to have all these great people behind us." Poirier was able to hold on to third to round out the Ashley Lynn Winery podium. "I just needed my right rear not to go flat," said Poirier. "After that yellow, I knew something was wrong, I kept getting tight so I couldn't go up on the cushion so I was stuck to the bottom. Davie was pretty good down there and I was just maintaining my speed." The field was split into three timed hot lap groups, with Spencer Burley, Jordan Hutton and Jordan Thomas each earning Rifenburg Contracting fast time awards. Elab Smokers Boutique heats were won by Shawn Donath, Jordan Hutton and Jared Zimbardi, while the Donath Motor Worx Dash presented by Lanes Yamaha was won by Billy VanInwegen. - Dukes of Hazzard Meet & Greet with Daisy Duke Catherine Bach this Friday at Big Diamond Speedway
(Minersville, PA 8-2-26) Big Diamond Speedway will kick off the month of August this coming Friday evening with a very special guest on hand. Catherine Bach, better known for her starring role as Daisy Duke in the wildly popular hit TV series the Dukes of Hazzard, will be in the grandstands for a Meet & Greet with fans prior to the start of the evening's races. Bach was a cast member on the Dukes of Hazzard television series which aired from 1979 to 1985 and in a pair of Dukes of Hazzard movies in 1997 and again in 2000. She has also starred in numerous films and television shows throughout her career. Thanks to the efforts of Jeff Bowers who was able bring Bach to the track for this much-looked forward to affair, plus, Bowers will have his very sharp looking replica of the General Lee on display, a 1969 Dodge Charger. The race line-up will include the BQ Concrete 358 Modifieds, USAC East Coast Sprint Cars, USS Achey Inc. 602 Crate Sportsman and the Red White and Blue Autos Inc. Roadrunners. With his being the final month of racing the championship picture is beginning to clear amongst the division point contenders. Louden Reimert remains in control of the 358 Modifieds and is looking to make it back-to-back title runs, although nipping close at his heels is Mike Lisowski and Tim Buckwalter who remain withing striking distance. Duane Howard and Logan Watt round out this week's top-5 in the standings. In the Sportsman division Ryan Graver is coming off his class leading fourth win of the season and in doing so padded his point lead over Zach Steffey but with the right set of circumstances things can quicky turn given the number of races left to run and not only for Steffey but other current top point-getters such as Dakota Kohler and Matt Martino. Alex Schoffstall has maintained a steady pace as the Roadrunners point leader. However, he must remain mindful of the drivers close behind him, including Joey Brennan and Jim Kost, second and third respectively in points and are battling each week to finish ahead of him. And not to mention several other top contenders who have also gained momentum in recent weeks, adding further pressure to the championship fight. General admission is $25, students 10-15 are $10 and under 9 free. Pit admission is $35 for members and $45 non-members. Pits open at 5:00 pm and grandstands at 5:30 pm. Hot laps will begin at 6:45 pm with racing to follow. Coming up in two weeks on Friday, August 14 will be Back To School Night and Lasting Legends Night. There will be backpacks for the kids filled with school supplies to be handed out while supplies last and there will be face painting too. This year's Lasting Legends line-up includes 1993/94 Street Stock champion Bruce Williams, Dick Maberry, a popular Modified star during the latter half of the 1970s, Terry Peters, who competed in Sportsman Modifieds, ace Modified standout Davey Wenger, repeated Street Stock and Modified winner Keith Trumbo and Frankie Burke who not only raced at the track but worked for a stint as the announcer. Fans will be able to meet up with these driving greats where they will be stationed underneath the pavilion adjacent to the concession stand. Big Diamond Speedway is located at 392 Forest Lane, Pottsville. For up-to-date news and information logon to the official track website at https://bigdspeedway.net/
- DALE BLANEY WINS $12,000 "410" SPRINT CAR THRILLER FOR "LOU BLANEY MEMORIAL" VICTORY #2 AT SHARON; BRP MOD TOUR TO ERICK RUDOLPH FOR HIS 4TH EVENT VICTORY
(Hartford, OH)...Despite showers scattered around, Mother Nature gave Sharon Speedway a reprieve on Saturday night allowing the 18th annual "Lou Blaney Memorial" to be completed without a hitch. A large crowd witnessed an action-packed night of tremendous racing as Dale Blaney (Hovis Auto & Truck Supply "410" Sprint Cars presented by Bala Management) and Erick Rudolph (BRP Mod Tour for the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Big Blocks) celebrated in the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Victory Lane. It was Ryan Blaney Family Foundation and Bala Management Night. Last September, Dale Blaney ended the 2025 season at Sharon by becoming the oldest winner in World of Outlaws Sprint Car history at 61. On Saturday night, Blaney out-dueled 19-year-old, recent Attica Raceway Park World of Outlaws winner, Bryce Lucius, to score the $12,000 "Lou Blaney Memorial" victory for his brother and car owner Dave Blaney. Unlike Dave, who called it a career two years ago in victory lane after winning his third "Lou Blaney Memorial" at the age of 61, Dale wasn't quite ready to hang up the helmet after his second event win at the age of 62. After leading laps 17-28, Blaney got back by Lucius on lap 32 to become the season's fifth different "410" Sprint Car winner in as many events. "To win this race a second time is pretty damn special," expressed the Hartford, Ohio native. "I'm not going to do what Dave (Blaney) did and be done because we have a couple more races we want to compete in; we'll get after it in a couple weeks. I appreciate everyone coming. My daughter (Leah) is here along with Cale Conley (husband of Emma Blaney), who was won this race and is part of the family. It's great to have them here and the kids." "He's (Lucius) a really good kid and a great race car driver," stated Blaney. "I got to Nash (Ely) and got stalled and couldn't work the corner up there and was losing ground to him (Lucius). I went to the bottom and Bryce went by and I was like 'I have to do something' so I got my wing back and I think Bryce messed up off (turn) two and let me get a run on him. I was trying to get into the corners as hard as I could and catch the cushion and it worked out." Lucius, who was making just his second career Sharon start and first since last September's World of Outlaws show, used the outside to power into the early lead in the feature over Zeth Sabo, A.J. Flick, Ricky Peterson, and Blaney. Those five racers would put on quite a show for the fans and those watching on DIRTVision over the 35-lap feature, which would go non-stop in 10:19.539. Blaney and Peterson battled hard for fourth swapping the spot back and forth numerous times before Blaney got by for good on lap seven. Blaney then put a slider on Flick in turn four two laps later to capture third. Blaney tracked down Sabo and put a similar move on the June 13 Ohio Speedweek All Star Circuit of Champions winner that he did on Peterson and Flick to overtake second on lap 13. Meanwhile, Lucius was navigating lapped traffic beginning on lap seven and by the time Blaney reached second, he had a half-straightaway lead. That advantage was quickly eroded as it only took Blaney two laps to catch the leader. Blaney once again performed a slider in turn four snatch the lead away from Lucius on lap 17. Blaney never got much more than a half-straightaway advantage on Lucius, who stayed within striking distance in lapped traffic. Lucius continued to power around the fence and tracked Blaney back down on lap 28. Lucius squeezed by the National Sprint Car Hall of Famer off turn two to regain the lead on lap 29. Blaney though wasn't about to let the race slip away as he made what would be the winning pass on lap 32. Lucius' bid for the $12,000 payday ended when he hit the fence one too many times and slowed coming to the white flag, which allowed Flick to move into second. Flick made a last ditch effort to get under Blaney in turn four coming to the checkered flag, but came up 0.641 seconds shy. The Blaney Brothers remain the only repeat winners of the Sprint Car portion of the "Lou Blaney Memorial" as they've now won 5 of the 18 events. Dale's 25th career Sharon win came aboard his brother Dave's, Ryan Blaney Family Foundation/Ten Runner Bourbon Whiskey/Liberty Steel Industries-sponsored #10. Flick earned a season best $4,100 payday for his runner-up finish just one night after trashing his #2 Sprint Car in a wild flip at Lernerville Speedway. In Flick's prior nine races at Sharon since his last win on May 10, 2025, his best finish was a sixth and had failed to qualify for the two of the features. In fact, last year's win and Flick's runner-up on Saturday night are his only top 5 finishes in the last 17 events at Sharon dating back to the 2023 season. "I can tell you right now this is a win," revealed the 33-year-old Apollo, Pa. driver. "I'm not getting a trophy or a big check, but I think I won the 'Lou Blaney Memorial'. I know how bad my dad wants this win. He raced with Lou; Lou was one of his idols and this race means a lot to me. These guys are no joke here. To even see the tail tank of the 10-car means a lot. We've been struggling and if this track doesn't have bite, I'm out to lunch. I guess that's why you keep racing because if you work hard enough at it, you'll luck into something. Congrats to Dale, Dave, and the entire Blaney Family- I know winning this race is awesome for those guys. The whole Ryan Blaney Family Foundation and all the money they raise; my grandfather on my mother's side passed away from Alzheimer's as well so this is a very special race for me." The last two laps were beneficial for Peterson, who got by the slowing Lucius on lap 34 for fourth then snuck past Sabo for third on the last lap to earn $2,600. After starting on the pole, Sabo slipped back to fourth at the finish for $1,900 in just his second night behind the wheel of the Rudzik Racing #49x from nearby Struthers, Ohio. Bowser was fifth for $1,600. Cale Thomas was sixth. Local John Jerich had a solid run going 11th to 7th. Brandon Spithaler was eighth. Greg Wilson went 15th to 9th. Chris Verda was 10th. Jeremy Weaver, who started 19th, came home 11th and earned the hard charger honors. Weaver received $100 cash from Premier Pallet & Recycling along with a $100 Summit Racing Equipment gift card. Dan Kuriger was 13th and received a $300 bonus from Premier Pallet on top of his $1,250 earnings. Thanks to Pete Grove of Premier Pallet & Recycling for adding $1,300 into Saturday's Sprint Car event as drivers finishing 2-9 also received $100. Blaney set fast time over the 35-car field in qualifying with a lap of 14.001. Heat winners were Spithaler. Thomas, Peterson, and Flick. Leyton Wagner won the last chance B main. The Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Big-Block Modifieds followed up the Sprint Car thriller and put on a tremendous 35-lap BRP Tour feature of their own. Fifth starting Erick Rudolph emerged victorious in a race that had four different leaders and four official lead changes. Rudolph passed Jeremiah Shingledecker on lap 25 and went on for his leading fourth "Lou Blaney Memorial" victory worth $2,500, which have all come in the past seven years. "This race has always been good to me," acknowledged the 34-year-old Ransomville, NY standout. "I was biding my time for a while. I kind of took it easy and hoped the track would come to me; about halfway through it really started to kick on and the car came alive for me. It seemed like the bottom and middle was the place to be tonight. I have to thank my family for putting up with me being gone and going up and down the roads, but bringing home a win makes it worthwhile. I have a lot of support behind me and grateful I have all the help I need to keep going. It gets tougher and tougher every year, but we'll keep trying to do it." Shawn Kozar led the first feature laps of his career before Shingledecker took charge on lap three. Shingledecker had his hands full as a hungry pack of racers including Rudolph, Tyler Williard, and Will Thomas III were right there. Thomas started 12th and had the highline working as he raced around Rudolph for third on lap 10 and Willard for second on lap 12. One-lap later, Thomas powered past Shingledecker for the lead on lap 13. Thomas maintained P1 until lap 21 when it was three-wide for lead as Shingledecker regained the top spot with Rudolph also getting by Thomas for second. Rudolph hounded the 2017 "Lou Blaney Memorial" winner over the ensuing laps before making the winning pass on the 25th circuit. Rudolph led the rest of the way to become the season's third different winner in as many Big-Block Modified races with the eighth victory of his career at Sharon aboard the Motech Ent Inc-owned, Stirling Lubricants/Mohawk Northeast/Highmark of Western New York/Dig Race Products-sponsored #25. Rudolph has now ironically won the "Lou Blaney Memorial" in 2020, 2022, 2024, and now 2026 and becomes the event's top winner amongst both divisions. Shingledecker, who ended an eight-year winless drought at Sharon by winning the last Big-Block Modified show on June 27, came up 1.627 seconds behind Rudolph. Willard, the Canadian, was third in search of his first career Sharon win. Rex King, Jr., who was the last local to win the "Lou Blaney Memorial" in 2019 was fourth after starting eighth. After going 12th to 1st in the first 13 laps, Thomas faded to fifth at the finish. Garrett Krummert, who started 11th, was the last car of the top six breakaway from the pack over the second-half of the event and finished sixth. Last year's event winner, Dalton Slack, who won Friday night's BRP Tour show at Lernerville, went 21st to 7th. Karston King was eighth in his Sharon Big-Block Modified debut. Ayden Cipriano went 20th to 9th. Chas Wolbert came back from a spin on lap two to complete the top 10. Only two cautions slowed the event, which took place on laps two and three, and were in fact the only cautions during the 70 laps of feature racing between the Sprint Cars and Modifieds! Like the Sprint Cars, there were also 35 Big-Block Modifieds in competition. Winning their heat races were Rudolph, Krummert, Shingledecker, and Thomas, while Slack won the last chance B main. There will be no racing next Saturday (August 8); however, a special midweek show will be held Wednesday, August 13 featuring the Super DIRTcar Series for the Big-Block Modifieds along with the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply "410" Sprint Cars for $4,000 to-win. - Shawn DeForest, Nick Baldwin, Dominic Gorden and Kevin Jinkerson claim Carnett Clash wins
Placerville, CA…Livermore veteran Shawn DeForest took the lead on lap five and went on to grab the $2,000 top prize with the Kings Meats Ltd. Late Models on Saturday at the Carnett Clash in Placerville. Sharing victory lane at the Carnett Clash presented by Fords Only were Oakley's Nick Baldwin, Clovis' Dominic Gorden and Diamond Springs' Kevin Jinkerson. A total of 82 cars filled the pit area on a warm summer day to begin the month of August at Placerville Speedway. The 25-lap Kings Meats Ltd. Late Model finale saw Tyler Lightfoot charge into the lead and hold command over the initial four laps. Shawn DeForest then showed his muscle and blasted by to grab the top spot that he would never relinquish. All main events on Saturday saw numerous caution periods plague things, never allowing a flow to commence. DeForest went on to claim the Ed Entz checkered flag over Hard Charger Randy Shafer. Current point leader Rod Oliver, Ray Trimble and Lightfoot completed the top five. A solid field of 18 cars competed at the Carnett Clash. The Red Hawk Resort + Casino Pure Stocks also saw a strong turnout of 21 cars from various tracks around the region. Veteran driver Scott Grunert climbed into the early lead and paced the field for over half of the race. Seven-time track champion Nick Baldwin rode along in second and challenged Grunert for several laps, before making his move in the latter stages. Baldwin dropped to the bottom of the speedway and sliced his way by to snag the lead on lap 17. Baldwin went on to capture his 46th career Placerville Speedway win, which paid a cool $1,000. Grunert, Oroville Owens, Kevin Jinkerson and Clarence Holbrook completed the top five. Colfax youngster Cole Croft took the lead at the waving of the green flag in the Thompson's Family of Dealerships Winged 360 Sprint Car feature. Clovis' Dominic Gorden didn't waste long however and took command after a handful of laps were completed. Gorden ran up front for the duration of the feature but had to withstand the relentless challenges from Croft as the race wound down. Gorden fended him off to record his fourth career Placerville Speedway win with Shane Hopkins, Justyn Cox, Jake Morgan and Andy Forsberg crossing the line behind them. Croft had finished in the second spot but was placed as the last car on the lead lap due to not stopping at tech. A robust field of 29 Winged Sprint Cars competed on Saturday night. Kevin Jinkerson moved out front in the Mountain Democrat Mini Truck feature and never looked back on way to the $400 victory. Brian Tremblay, Brycen Bragg, Noah LaPoint and Paizlee Miller filled out the top five. Placerville Speedway returns to action with Red Hawk Resort + Casino Night this coming Saturday August 8th. - Gravel Nets Third Williams Grove Summer Nationals Title For 20K
Mechanicsburg - Defending World of Outlaws champion David Gravel recorded the third Williams Grove Speedway C & D Rigging Summer Nationals Finale title of his career on Saturday night, scoring $20,000 for a flag to flag performance in the 24th running of the affair. For Gravel, the victory was his 10th of the season on the World of Outlaws tour and the 11th overall of his career at Williams Grove Speedway. Gravel drew the pole for the dash and then drove to victory in it to set himself on the pole for the 30-lap Summer Nationals main event. He was leading over second starter Dylan Norris on the fourth lap when his pace was halted for a medical emergency in the pit area. The restart saw Gravel jet away as fourth starter Logan Schuchart began challenging Norris for second. Schuchart first went in front of Norris with a first and scond turns move on the seventh lap only to see Norris battle back into the spot. Norris would continue holding the runner-up position but trailing by 3.127 seconds as the leader entered the rear of the field at the halfway mark. Shortly thereafter Schuchart again began challenging Norris for second and would finally make good on a move with 10 laps to go. With nine to go disaster nearly struck the leader when the machines of Brent Shearer and Cole Macedo tangled as they raced off of the fourth corner. When Macedo turned sideways Gravel came upon the scene and just barely scraped by the cars after evasive action as the caution flag came out. Gravel had Schuchart on this tail for the new green while Logan Rumsey went outside of Norris for third. At first Schuchart trailed by more than 1.5 seconds but with under five laps to go he began biting into Gravel's advantage and with two to go he chopped five-tenths of a second off of his lead. That kept things interesting all the way to the finish as Schuchart continued to gain ground on Gravel by blasting the top going into the first corner before dropping off of the cushion in the middle of the turns with a run that allowed him to continue to close in. The Hanover pilot took a last ditch outside swipe at Gravel for the win in the final set of turns but the Connecticut driver held on for the victory by .688 seconds. Rumsey finished an impressive third as the highest finishing Pennsylvania Posse driver. Norris and Sheldon Haudenschild completed the top five finishers. Sixth through 10th went to Danny Dietrich, Justin Whittall, Daryn Pittman, Brent Marks and Anthony Macri. Heats were taken by Rumsey, Pittman, Gravel and Whittall. Brent Shearer won the B Main. Rumsey set fast time with a lap of 16.927 seconds. The Summer Nationals Finale victory was the second in a row for David Gravel at Williams Grove Speedway as he took the most recent event checkers in 2024. The race was lost to weather in 2025. His first event win was in 2020. Feature Finish 8/1//26 410 Sprints, 25 Laps: 1. David Gravel, 2. Logan Schuchart, 3. Logan Rumsey, 4. Dylan Norris, 5. Sheldon Haudenschild, 6. Danny Dietrich, 7. - Thorson, Wagner, Greenwood earn Round 3 Road to Hockett wins at Lucas Oil Speedway
WHEATLAND, MO. (Aug. 1, 2026) - Tanner Thorson was rewarded for a daring pass for the lead on lap 13 and the Broken Arrow, Okla., driver went on to win the Rod End Supply "Road to the Hockett" Round 3 in POWRi 410 Sprints on Saturday night at Lucas Oil Speedway. Thorson, an Interstate Batteries High Limit Sprint series regular, took command with a slider heading into turn two and never looked back. He did have to withstand some late-race drama that forced a green-white-checker restart for the win. Thorson's final margin was .956 seconds over Joe B. Miller with Joel Myers Jr. third. Other winners during Round 3 were Jack Wagner (POWRi WAR Sprints) and Jake Greenwood (305 IMCA RaceSaver Sprints). The Road to the Hockett features POWRi 410 Outlaw Sprints, POWRi WAR Sprints and 305 IMCA RaceSaver Sprints. Road to the Hockett series points champs after the four races in the POWRi 410 Winged Springs and POWRi WAR will receive an automatic bid into this fall's open-wheel crown jewel at the speedway, Sept. 17-19. The top three in points take home prize money and Lucas Oil products. Championship night for the Road to the Hockett is set for Aug. 22. Thorson said it was nice to make the trip to Lucas Oil Speedway, during a brief High Liimt Series break, to get some testing prior to the Hockett-McMillin in September. "Hats off to to this team. We have the whole JST crew here tonight," Thorson said. "It was a fun little trip. Hats off to everybody on this car." Xavier Doney started on the pole and it didn't take him long to build a sizable lead, 1.71 seconds in front of Thorson four laps in. That's when fourth-running Landon Crawley flipped his car multiple times in turn two to bring out a caution. Roger Crockett moved into second after the restart as Doney's lead was soon back to nearly two seconds as Crockett fell behind Thorson. As the leaders entered lapped traffic, Thorson was cutting into the margin when caution No. 2 flew as third-running Crockett spun when hit by a non-contending car. Thorson used a slider to take the lead on the restart coming off turn two. By just two laps later, caution No. 3 appeared when Doney got into the turn two marbles and spun, barely keeping it from going rolling. That left Thorson leading Howard Moore and Joe B. Miller for the restart with 10 laps remaining. Thorson sailed to a 2.3-second lead over the next five laps, turning it into a runaway. He was less than one lap to the checkers when Gage Montgomery, running sixth, flipped his car to bring out the led in turn two. Thorson held on to post the $5,000 first prize. "Jason and Shantel (Tessier) at the start of the season wanted to purchase our High Limit program that Rod (Gross) owned," Thorson said. "Buying a franchise with High Limit Racing is such a big future for sprint-car racing. And thanks to POWRi (owner) Kenny (Brown) and everybody here. They do a phenomenal job." Miles Paulus was fourth with Howard Moore fifth. Jack Wagner wins win POWRi WAR: Jack Wagner of Lone Jack, Mo., posted his second POWRi Wingless Sprint League feature win at Lucas Oil Speedway this season, beating Mario Clouser of Auburn, Ill., by nearly a straightaway's margin. Third-starting Wesley Smith took advantage of a bobble from Wagner at the start to grab the lead, but Wagner was back in front the next time around and wouldn't surrender the lead again. Wagner had a 2.2-second lead by the midway point on lap 10. That was the peak of the lead as Smith began to chip into the lead and trailed by 1.06 seconds on lap 15 - but Smith jumped the cushion in turn two and spun his car to bring out the first caution. That put Clouser, four seconds behind at the time of the caution, right behind Wagner for the restart. Wagner handled the restart with no issues and drove away to take the win by 1.59 seconds over Clouser. "This race track has been really set and fit for all these cars, it doesn't matter if its 305s or 410s or this non-wing car," Wagner said in victory lane. "But it doesn't start here, it starts in the shop. Me and my dad talked about it the middle of the week. How do you win races? You win races right here (in the shop). It was another perfect race car." Bryson Smith was third with Tom Curran fourth and Wesley Smith rallying from his spin to fifth. POWRi 305 win to Greenwood: Jake Greenwood of Woodward, Iowa, led all 20 laps for the 305 IMCA RaceSaver Sprints victory. Pole-starting Greenwood and Landon Muehlberger ran 1-2 as the race progressed to lap 10, when caution flew for a multi-car incident in turn three. Greenwood pulled away after the restart to lead by just over two seconds by lap 13. With all green-flag action the rest of the way, Greenwood went on to beat Waylon Phillips by 2.8 seconds with Muehlberger finishing third. "We've been doing this RaceSaver thing because it's all we can afford and this stuff is pretty expensive," Greenwood said. "We get a lot of fun out of this." Randy Martin finished fourth with Chase Koelliker fifth. Fast qualifiers: Xavier Doney of Odessa set fast qualifying time for the 410s with a lap of 12.848 - just off the track record of 12.829 set By Rico Abreu with the High Limit Series on June 29, 2024. In the POWRi WAR Sprints, Wesley Smith set fast time at 15.107. He also was just off the track record, held by Logan Seavey with a lap of 14.928 on Sept. 6, 2025 during a USAC show. - Ryan Graver, Chuck Fayash and Kris Ney score big wins in Dave Camp Memorial at Big Diamond Speedway…Jeremy Ott bags $1500 Legends victory, Mason Harakel notches career first win in Rookie 602 Crate Sportsman
(Minersville, PA 7-31-26) Big Diamond Speedway hosted the 10th Annual Dave Kamp Memorial on Friday evening, with bonus money awarded to competitors in the USS Achey Inc. 602 Crate Sportsman and Red White and Blue Autos Inc. Roadrunner divisions through the combined efforts of racer John Deatrich and a generous group of sponsors. In the Sportsman feature Lehighton's Ryan Graver scored his division leading fourth win of the season. Graver, who started 12th, used his patented outside line in charging his way frontward and by lap eight was running in the top-5 and wasn't done with his forward-thinking at that point either. Following a restart on the same circuit Graver advanced to fourth and yet another spot the next time around. With nine laps to go he motored to second behind leader Reice Widger. Widger had taken the lead away from early pace setter Tyler Vidal at the halfway mark and was upholding his position over Graver, however, just as he was entering Turn 4 and ready to complete the 12th lap he suddenly spun and any hopes of a win dashed along with it. This handed the lead over to Graver who then cruised to the checkers for his fourth win in 14 starts. Matt Martino had a strong run and did get close a few times to Graver but near the end could not maintain and settled for a season best second. Racing to third was Kevin Fitzpatrick who had to fend off Craig Whitmoyer and Ed Mrochko. Mrochko put forth his best run in sometime as he ran as high as second and then remained highly competitive in notching a well-earned top five. In the first of Twin-12s for the Roadrunners Chuck Fayash from Schuylkill Township passed point leader Alex Schoffstall after a torrid side-by-side battle with six laps to go and then went on to claim his second win in the last three starts. Not only was this his 14th Roadrunner victory and 15th overall, but it came exactly 11 years to the day of his career first win. Joey Brennan gave a close chase in taking third. In the second feature, Kris Ney of Gordon wrestled the lead from Jesse Krasnitsky on lap two, then found himself locked in an electrifying three-car battle with Schoffstall and Brennan. The trio raced lap after lap in tight formation, with virtually no margin for error. The intensity never eased as the race reached its closing laps. Coming to the white flag, Schoffstall edged ahead by only a bumper, with Brennan still firmly in contention. Rounding the final corner, Ney found just enough momentum to surge past Schoffstall at the finish line, while Brennan crossed close behind in third. During the second heat of the Roadrunners there was a scary moment when Brian Johnson made hard contact against the Turn 3 tire barrier. Due to the severity of the accident and as a precaution Johnson was airlifted to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. As of press time he has a concussion, some bruising and remained overnight for additional observation. Mason Harakel of New Ringold has been biding his time each week with the BQ Concrete Rookie 602 Crate Sportsman, steadily improving with every race and tonight he reached a high water mark of his young career, winning for the very first time. Harakel assumed the lead after a second attempt at the start and from there held his own ahead of runner-up Devin Whitmoyer. The DHM Excavating East Coast Legend Series had big money on the line as $1500 was up for grabs to the winner of the 25-lap feature so naturally a great field was on hand looking to snag the cash and what a thriller of race it turned out to be too. Jermy Ott of Carlisle waged a battle royale with Tanner Jones throughout the run as the pair constantly went back and forth in exchanging the lead. Ott moved ahead for good on lap 17 but with two laps to go Jones was able to pull alongside and they then raced neck-and-neck to the checkers with Ott eking out the verdict. Not only was the race for the lead thrilling but likewise behind the front pair was an equally rousing tussle as Colton Friese, Logan Jones and Lincoln Kearchner ran under a blanket all race long in rounding out the top five.
