- Brody Roa Scores Convincing Win in USAC/CRA Main Event at Perris Auto Speedway
Cypress, CA — June 23, 2026 — Despite making only his second sprint car start in seven months, Brody Roa delivered a runaway victory in the Avanti Windows and Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series main event at Perris Auto Speedway last Saturday night. The win came one month after Roa finished second in the 73rd Salute to Indy in his first sprint car race of 2026. On Saturday, the 2023 USAC/CRA Series champion was impressive right out of the box. His lap of 17.081 was the fastest in the field during hot laps. In Woodland Auto Display Qualifying, his time of 16.984 made him one of only three drivers to qualify in the 16s on the night. And it was the second fastest time overall. For his eight-lap heat race, the Garden Grove, California, driver started sixth and charged to a second-place finish. That performance placed him on the inside of the third row in the 30-lap main event. Once the main began, Roa — aka "The Pride of Garden Grove" — immediately began slicing and dicing his way toward the front of the pack. By the end of lap eight, he had taken the lead and rim road his way from the field. His biggest challenge came soon afterward when he encountered lapped traffic. Masterfully working his way through the lappers, Roa was nearly a full straightaway ahead of the second-place car when the Chris Fulton checkered flag brought the race to an end. He had lapped all the way through the seventh-place car. "I know it was probably not much for the excitement factor, but I will take it any time," Roa laughed about his runaway win. "There was quite a bit of lapped traffic. I only had one little bit of a hairy moment going into turn one. I got up to a lapper, and he had been running the bottom the whole time. He just kind of floated up on the entry into one to run the top. It got a little tight, but I was able to turn down and keep on trucking." "I love it when it is like that," Roa commented on the track. "Slick to right on the wall. There really wasn't much of a curb to lean on. It was kind of technical on the fence, so it was kind of easy to blow through it. I like that style, too. On the fence with it technical, hit your marks type stuff is what I really like. It kind of slows everything down, and you have to be precise with it rather than just be hammer down." "It was a pretty smooth night as far as the pits go. Just normal adjustments, no corrections. Changed a gear before the feature. That is a good problem to have. It could easily go the other way real quick. We are thankful for nights like that where we can just roll it in the trailer. It makes it nice between the races. You can do the standard maintenance, look everything over, put some fresh grease on what needs it, wipe down what needs it and check nuts and bolts and be ready for the next one." That next one will come when Roa returns to action with the USAC/CRA Series at Perris Auto Speedway on Saturday, July 11. The following marketing partners have backed Roa for the 2026 campaign. ALR Virtual Services, Biker Bruce, Caltrol, Innovative Sewer Scope and Plumbing, Big Chino Ranch, Molecule, Shaver Racing Engines, Barnes Pumps, and Specialized Coatings. - Brody Roa Shines in Return to Sprint Car Racing With Second-Place Finish in the Salute to Indy
Cypress, CA — May 29, 2026 — In his first sprint car start in more than six months, 2023 USAC/CRA Champion Brody Roa looked anything but rusty when the series visited Perris Auto Speedway for the 73rd running of the Salute to Indy on Memorial Day weekend. The veteran star thrilled the crowd as he rim-rode his way to an impressive second-place finish. Roa's absence from the sprint car wars was caused by something that has plagued many racers in recent months — waiting for engine parts. When the night finally arrived to get back on the track, the 2021 Salute to Indy champion was extremely pleased with the car's performance. He timed in third fastest in qualifying with a lap of 16.887 on the famous Southern California clay oval. For his heat race, the 2019 USAC Southwest Champion and 2016 USAC Western States Sprint Car Champion started fifth and stormed forward to score a convincing victory in the eight-lapper. In the 30-lap main event, Roa rolled off from the outside of the second row. He slipped back to sixth by the completion of the opening circuit but immediately began working his way toward the front. He advanced to fifth on lap three and moved into fourth following a lap-eight restart. After a multi-lap, crowd-pleasing battle for third, Roa finally wrestled the position away. He appeared destined for a third-place finish before catching a break late in the race when the second-place car suffered an engine failure, allowing Roa to move up one more spot and cap his return with a runner-up finish. "I think we just missed it (set up) a little bit in the main event," Roa said after the race. "We put something on the car that we tried a couple of years ago, but it did not make the grip I thought it would." "It was good to shake the rust off. Heat race win and second in the main, can't complain much about that. Hopefully, we can come out next month and knock off a win. The track was a ton of fun tonight. I love it when it is on the wall like that. Lots of new people involved with the team and room on the car for anybody else who wants to be involved in a sprint car team." Roa will now enjoy three weeks away from competition before climbing back into the cockpit for the next USAC/CRA Series race at Perris on June 20th. The following marketing partners have backed Roa for the 2026 campaign.
