- Jason Martin Returns To ASCS National Victory Lane At Lake Ozark Speedway!
Bryan Hulbert - ELDON, Mo. (May 28, 2023) Bouncing back at Lake Ozark Speedway, Jason Martin captured his fourth win of the season with the National Tour of the American Sprint Car Series and first of his career at the one-third-mile oval. The eighth time Jason Martin has topped the American Sprint Car Series National Tour, the Lake Ozark win is his first in the state of Missouri. Adding to his runner-up finish on Friday, Martin shot the outside on the start to capture the lead over Blake Hahn. Fending off the challenge from the DriveWFX.com No. 52 in traffic, Martin went on to lead the full 30-lap feature event. "I felt like I needed to get out front early because I really figured the top was going to be the dominant place to be, but I was worried it was going to be slimy still on the start. Blake took off really good on the bottom, and I spun my tires in the middle, so I just decided to rip the top, and it worked," explained Jason of the start. Able to hold on to the runner-up spot after several attempts by Joe B. Miller to take it, Blake Hahn was ultimately joined on the podium Seth Bergman, who has finished on the podium in seven consecutive outings with the ASCS National Tour. Taking advantage of a couple of restarts in the closing laps, Miles Paulus raced from ninth to fourth, with Jordon Mallett rebounding from a failed ignition box at the start of the night, to earn the KSE Hard Charger with a run from 21st to fifth. Jace Park crossed sixth, followed by Kyle Bellm. Brandon Anderson made up five positions to finish eighth, with Joe B. Miller slipping to ninth on the final laps with a failing tire. Howard Moore made up five spots to complete the top ten. Sunday night at Lake Ozark Speedway featured a 27-car field, with Joe B. Miller setting the overall quick qualifying time at 12.428-seconds. A trio of AR Dyno Specialty Heat Races went to Colton Hardy, Jason Martin, and Jace Park. The BMRS B-Feature was topped by Terry Easum. Provisional starts were used by Christopher Townsend and Kyler Johnson. The American Sprint Car Series is back on track on Friday, June 2, at Outlaw Motor Speedway and Saturday, June 3, at Caney Valley Speedway. The two events make up the Mickey Walker Classic, with each night paying $4,222 to win, $422 to start. The 2023 season will mark the 32nd year of competition for the American Sprint Car Series. Spearheaded by the American Sprint Car Series National Tour, the ASCS Nation includes Regional Tours that encompass both wing and non-wing competition. Live coverage of the American Sprint Car Series can be found on http://www.racindirt.com. - Terry Walker Memorial Victories Belong To Kris Carroll, Frank Flud, and Bryce Kujath
Bryan Hulbert - TULSA, Okla. (May 6, 2023) Wrapping up the sixth annual Terry Walker Memorial Saturday night at Port City Raceway, Kris Carroll capped his night with A-Class Victory, while Frank Flud captured the Non-Wing Feature. Adding his name to the list of Restricted winners with the Dirt2Media National Open Wheel Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division, Bryce Kujath topped Restricted. Career win No. 3 for Carroll, the No. 36 led start-to-finish for the A-Class score. Having to fend off the hard-charging Harley Hollan with a green, white, checkered dash to the finish, Kris was able to gap Hollan by 0.769-seconds. A jaw-dropping performance from 16th, Hollan held off Garrett Benson to the finish. Bryant Woods and Ryder McCutcheon made up the top five. A race that was anyone's guess on who would come out on top; the correct answer ended up being Frank Flud for the 57th time in wingless competition. An intense battle between Flud, Kris Carroll, Jake Rosario, and at one point Austin Saunders, the No. 82s suffered mechanical failure on Lap 13 battling with Rosario. Slide for slide, and dive for dive, the three-car battle would finally cross Flud, Carroll, and Rosario. Connor Lee ended up fourth, with Cole Roberts in fifth. Making his car wide at the start and carrying it from there, Bryce Kujath became the 59th driver to top Restricted. A much-needed turnaround for Carson Bolden, the No. B2 crossed second, with Jett Nunley third. Garyn Howard crossed fourth with Bradley Cox on a rebound run in fifth, Braxton Flatt was unstoppable in Junior Sprints, while Justin Simpson captured a thrilling last-lap-pass for the win in Sportsman. The Saturday field included 134 entries in NOW600 competition and a combined 174 in the pits at Port City Raceway. The next outing for the Dirt2Media National Open Wheel Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division will be Sooner 600 Week, happening June 7-10 at Caney Valley Speedway, Creek County Speedway, Red Dirt Raceway, and Port City Raceway. Fans not able to attend can see every lap live on https://www.now600.tv and http://www.dirt2media.tv. The 2023 season marks the 11th year of competition for the National Open Wheel 600 Series. Anchored by the Dirt2Media NOW600 National Championship, the NOW600 Series comprises several regional tours and sanctioned racetracks. The NOW600 National Championship features three divisions of 600cc micro sprints at each event: Stock Non-Wing, Winged A-Class, and Restricted 'A' Class. - Missouri's Electric City Speedway And Oklahoma's Longdale Speedway Added To ASCS National Schedule
Bryan Hulbert - LONGDALE, Okla. (May 3, 2023) An update to the 2023 lineup of events for the American Sprint Car Series, Friday, April 12, will take place at Electric City Speedway in Butler, Mo. Moving a two-night show from Illinois to Oklahoma, Friday, May 19, and Saturday, May 20, has been shifted to Longdale Speedway due to a scheduling conflict that has come up with the promoters at Tri-City Speedway. Paired with Moberly Motorsports Park on Saturday, May 13, the Friday night showdown at Electric City Speedway will make the weekend a pair of $4,000 to win, $400 to start events. Both nights are co-sanctioned with the ASCS Warrior Region presented by Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps. Friday's inaugural trip to the one-third-mile oval just south of Kansas City, Mo., opens at 5:00 P.M. with racing at 8:00 P.M. (CDT). Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and military, and free for kids 12 and under. Pit Passes are $40. Electric City Speedway is located at 5634 NE County Rd. 3 in Butler, Mo. For information, call Terry Mattox at (918) 147-0624 or visit the track's Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100065931912650 Dubbed the Walleye Rodeo Roundup at Longdale Speedway, the event's name comes from the Walleye Rodeo at Canton Lake. One of Oklahoma's oldest and largest fishing tournaments, the lake is situated less than two miles from the track and is only six miles north of Canton, Okla. A win for race fans and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Co-Sanctioned with the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region presented by Smiley's Racing Products, the two-night affair will offer a $3,000 to win, $400 to start purse on Friday night, with Saturday's finale going to $4,000 to win, $400 to start, and is the first time the National Tour of the American Sprint Car Series has been on the card at Longdale Speedway. - Mickey Walker Classic Among Updates To 2023 ASCS National Schedule
Bryan Hulbert - DRUMRIGHT, Okla. (April 24, 2023) Several events have been updated on the 2023 American Sprint Car Series National Tour lineup. Among those is the Micky Walker Classic on Friday, June 2, and Saturday, June 3. The only time in 2023 Outlaw Motor Speedway will see action, the three-eighths-mile oval located just south of Muskogee will take the Friday portion, with Saturday's action going to Caney Valley Speedway in Caney, Kan. Both nights pay $4,222 to win, $400 to start. Terry Mattox is promoting both nights. "Mickey was my best friend, and being able to race in his honor means a lot to his family and me. Kind of a wrench in the mix having to move the race, but thankfully we got something figured out this year. I understand Creek needs to fulfill their contract in rescheduling their Monster Truck show to that date. It happens, but the Mickey Walker Classic will be back at his home track next year," stated Terry. Despite being shuttered, the Outlaw Motor Speedway owners have continued maintaining the track. Putting the facility in near race-ready condition, there is a small amount of tidying up that needs to be done. "I was shocked when I saw the track graded, watered, and otherwise ready to go. Outside of some mowing and general cleanup, they've kept the facility in working order, so we will go for it and bring racing to Outlaw at least once in 2023." Able to reschedule a date at Creek County Speedway this season, the tour will invade on Thursday, June 15, for a three-night stretch that includes the series return to Humboldt Speedway on Friday, June 16, and 81 Speedway on Saturday, June 17. Each night will pay $4,000 to win, $400 to start. The Gary Scott Memorial at Moberly Motorsports Park is next on the 2023 lineup. Unfortunately, the event will now be a Saturday-only affair. Terry Mattox is currently talking to another Missouri oval to take the series to on Friday, May 12. That information will be released once finalized. Terry is also working on filling in some open dates to make up for events lost at the start of the 2023 season to weather. A reminder that single-night shows in 2023 have been raised to $4,000 to win, $400 to start. The only time a show is $3,000 to win is a preliminary night on a multi-day event at the same track. The 2023 season will mark the 32nd year of competition for the American Sprint Car Series. Spearheaded by the American Sprint Car Series National Tour, the ASCS Nation includes Regional Tours that encompass both wing and non-wing competition. When making it to the track is not an option, the series can be found on http://www.floracing.com, and is included in the platform's $150 a year subscription plan.
