- Brett is King!
Maribel, WI - Brett Swedberg put it all on the line when he made a move to the outside of Nick Anvelink as they raced into turn three as they worked through the tail end of the field with just four laps to go in the crown jewel of the 2025 WABAM Dirt Kings Late Model Tour, The Diamond 47 at 141 Speedway. Swedberg took the lead, with Anvelink trailing by .370 seconds. Swedberg had a clear track in front of him and was able to maintain his lead and increasing his advantage over Anvelink. Swedberg went on to finish .632 seconds ahead of Anvelink, to secure his fourth WABAM Dirt Kings Late Model Tour victory in The Diamond 47. Swedberg was crowned King in BMRE Electrick Carts Victory Lane, taking home a check for $4700 and adding his name of the list of The Diamond winners. The first 43 laps of The Diamond 47 were all Anvelink, who was the Ken's Sports Pole Sitter after winning his heat race and drawing the pole for the race. Anvelink took the lead from the start while Troy Springborn and Swedberg battled for second, with Springborn challenging Anvelink for the lead on lap three, after caution slowed the field. Anvelink maintained his lead, stretching out 2.365 seconds over Springborn, who continued to battle with Swedberg and Joel Bennett for second. Caution slowed the field on lap twelve for debris, allowing Swedberg to move to second on the restart. Swedberg followed Anvelink, holding off challenges from Taylor Scheffler over the course of a couple of restarts, before finally getting a long green flag run with 18 laps to go. Anvelink maintained his advantage and with a clear track ahead of him, stretched out his lead over Swedberg and the real battle was for third with Springborn, Scheffler and Gunner Frank and great three wide racing throughout the field. With ten laps to go, Swedberg started to close in on Anvelink as they approached the tail end of the field. Anvelink preferred the inside of the track, while Swedberg ran the outside. With the tail end of the field racing for position, Anvelink and Swedberg maintained their respective lines and with four laps to go, Swedberg made his move, the Autoworx Clean Move of the Race, to win The Diamond 47. Anvelink finished second, followed by Frank, Scheffler, and Springborn. Justin Ritchie finished sixth followed by Cole Czarneski, who earned an additional $107, sponsored by Larry Mc Reds, Diamond Jim Letizia's longtime Crew Chief, Brad Mueller, Mike Mullen and Jake Redetzke. - Mitch McGrath Crowned King
Shawano, WI - Mitch McGrath was crowned King of the WABAM Dirt Kings Late Model Tour Stars & Stripes 25 at Shawano Speedway in BMRE Electrick Carts Victory Lane. McGrath started the night off with a blistering 19.483 second lap in Qualifying, earning the Champ Pans Fast Qualifier Award. McGrath also won his heat race, making him eligible for the re-draw and he was the Ken's Sports Inc Pole Sitter, starting the A-Main to the inside of Brett Swedberg. McGrath and Swedberg led the field to the green flag, with Brad Mueller and Taylor Scheffler in row two. Just like in the heat races, many lap times were faster than qualifying, causing the race to be shortened to 20 laps. McGrath pulled ahead to the lead and he never looked back, gaining valuable time on Swedberg with every lap. Swedberg was able to close in as McGrath worked his way through the tail end of the field, but on a one groove racetrack, McGrath had no problems pulling away from Swedberg. With no cautions to slow the field, McGrath finished 3.718 seconds of Swedberg. Mueller finished third followed by Scheffler and Troy Springborn. - Joel Bennett Crowned King
Seymour, WI - Joel Bennett visited the WABAM Dirt Kings Late Model Tour BMRE Electrick Carts Victory Lane for the very first time at Outagamie Speedway for the Salute to Service 30. Bennett finished second in his heat race earlier in the night, and was the Ken's Sports Pole Sitter for the Salute to Service 30, after the re-draw. Bennett and Gunner Frank led the field to the green flag, with Bennett taking the lead right from the start. Bennett pulled away to a 2.494 second lead over Frank, who battled for second with Brad Mueller. Bennett had smooth sailing for the first eight laps, but then started to approach the tail end of the field. With Frank and Mueller battling for second, Bennett watched his lead dwindle as he worked his way through the tail end of the field. Frank started to close in on Bennett at the halfway point, as Bennett continued to work through the field. Mitch McGrath battled with Mueller to secure third and set his sights on Frank, closing the gap on Bennett. McGrath took second from Frank as the two continued to battle for position, again gaining valuable time on Bennett. With five laps to go, Bennett held a .351 second advantage over Frank and McGrath with Bennett maintaining his advantage at the point, while still working the traffic at the end of the field. Bennett went on to finish .795 seconds ahead of McGrath and Frank, who had a photo finish battle for second. McGrath narrowly finished .057 seconds ahead of Frank. Bennett finished the 30-lap Salute to Service in 8:27, battling with traffic for the last 22 laps to secure his very first WABAM Dirt Kings Late Model Tour victory.
