- Runner-up, top 10s highlight IRA tripleheader for Arenz
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) September 3, 2025 - In one of the toughest stretches of the 2025 Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series schedule, Travis Arenz and the members of the Travis Arenz Motorsports team came away with three solid top-10 showings, including a podium effort in a Labor Day Weekend tripleheader at The Plymouth Dirt Track, Beaver Dam Raceway and The Hill in Sturgeon Bay, Wis. Friday, Aug. 29 through Sunday, Aug. 31. The Sheboygan Falls, Wis. resident kicked off the three-race weekend by qualifying 10th in the 28-car field at The Plymouth Dirt Track during the Sheboygan County Fair on Friday, Aug. 29. Arenz went on to win the first heat race before placing second in the first IRA dash to claim the third starting spot in the 30-lap main event. The 18th-year competitor raced in the second and third positions throughout the hard-fought main event before coming home with a strong second place showing. One night later, the team entered the Harry Neitzel Tribute-Jim Wipperfurth Memorial event at Beaver Dam Raceway on Saturday, Aug. 30, in a race that was billed as the final Sprint Car race at the facility, which is for sale. The 2021 and 2022 Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion opened the night by qualifying 22nd in the 34-car field. After placing fifth in the second heat race, Arenz rolled off from the 18th starting position in the 30-lap A main. Arenz marched through the field to gain 10 positions on the way to an eighth place showing. With 22 cars on hand at The Hill Raceway in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., on Sunday, Aug. 31, Arenz turned in the second fastest qualifying lap before placing second in the second heat race and third in the second IRA dash. Arenz started sixth in the A main before a caution flew on the opening lap for a spin involving another car. After the caution was called, Arenz spun in turn three as he attempted to slow down his machine. However, he was sent to the rear of the field for being part of the caution flag. Racing from the rear of the field in the 21st spot, Arenz charged his way up through the field to break into the top 10 on lap 19. Five caution flags over the final 22 laps played to Arenz's benefit as he moved up to post a seventh place showing. "I wouldn't consider it a super great weekend, but definitely decent," Arenz said. "On a positive note, we were able to put a new car together for this weekend, and everything is in one piece. I wish we could have finished farther forward on Saturday and Sunday. We had a top-three car on Sunday in Sturgeon Bay, but when the yellow flew for another car, I lifted off the throttle coming into turn 3 in the slick. Unfortunately, the spin sent me to the tail on the first lap. However, we ended up finishing a solid seventh after coming back from 21st." The team is now scheduled to compete in the 25th annual two-night Jerry Richert Memorial event at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., this Friday, Sept. 5 and Saturday, Sept. 6. Limited Sprints and UMSS Traditional Sprints are scheduled to round out the card on both nights, with racing slated to start at 6 p.m. All 2025 IRA events are streamed live on floracing.com. - Hartmann aims to turn luck at IRA Richert Memorial
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) September 3, 2025 - An overall lack of good luck, which has hounded Austin Hartmann and the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing Team throughout the 2025 season, was again on display in a pair of Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series events at The Plymouth Dirt Track and Beaver Dam Raceway last weekend. The Labor Day weekend of IRA action opened during the Sheboygan County Fair at The Plymouth Dirt Track on Friday, Aug. 29, with Hartmann logging in the 12th fastest qualifying time in the 28-car field. The fifth-year Sprint Car competitor went on to place third in the third heat race to earn the 12th starting spot in the 30-lap main event. Hartmann was running 11th on lap 9 when another competitor moved up the track and forced the Plymouth, Wis. driver into the outside wall between turns three and four, producing a bent right rear wheel. After heading to the work area, Austin reported an engine issue, which ended the team's night with a 23rd place showing. Later, Austin and the team discovered a lost cylinder number 8 spark plug in the engine compartment. One night later, the team headed to Beaver Dam Raceway for the Harry Neitzel Tribute-Jim Wipperfurth Memorial event on what was described as the final Sprint Car race to ever be held at the facility, which is for sale. The night got off to a strong start for Hartmann as he qualified sixth out of the 34 cars signed in before placing fourth in the second heat race to qualify for his fourth dash of the 2025 IRA season. A fifth place showing in the second four-lap dash put Hartmann in the 10th starting spot for the 30-lap A main. Again, poor luck struck in a big way on lap 4 when, while racing for sixth, another driver steered left into Hartmann along the front straightaway. The contact sent Hartmann on a series of flips. While he was able to emerge from the hard wreck uninjured, the heavy impact destroyed his 87A machine. Hartmann ended up 22nd in the final race results. The incident caused the team to miss the final event of the three-race IRA weekend on Sunday, Aug. 31, at The Hill Raceway in Sturgeon Bay, Wis. "It was another bad couple of nights running with the IRA and having drivers make contact with our car," Hartmann said. "We will get everything put together and be at Cedar Lake this weekend." The team is scheduled to compete in the 25th annual two-night Jerry Richert Memorial event at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., this Friday, Sept. 5 and Saturday, Sept. 6. Limited Sprints and UMSS Traditional Sprints are scheduled to round out the card on both nights, with racing slated to start at 6 p.m. All IRA events the 87A Hartmann Racing Team enters during the 2025 season will be streamed live on floracing.com. 87A Hartmann Racing 2025 sponsorship partners include Kristine Hartmann Pleasantview Realty, Shufflebotham Tree Service, The Dispensary, Metalcraft, Ludwig & Sons Trucking, Quasius Construction, Holler n' Hills, Rich's Truck & Auto Repair, Gibbsville Cheese, Hepfner Racing Products and Berryman Racing Shocks. - Arenz takes first run at LaSalle, ramps up for three-race IRA weekend
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) August 27, 2025 - After competing in just three Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series races over the span of the past seven weeks, Travis Arenz and his crew got back on track with their first appearance at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Ill., on Saturday, Aug. 23. Arenz opened the night by qualifying 18th overall in the 36-car field with a lap of 11.660 seconds. After placing sixth in the second IRA heat race, the 2020 and 2021 Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion rolled off third and advanced one spot to place second in the 12-lap B main and move on to the evening's main event. The Sheboygan Falls, Wis. driver started 21st in the 30-lap main event and worked his way up to as high as 12th before tallying a 20th place showing. "LaSalle is a cool facility," Arenz said. "I have never raced there before, so I'm glad we got to experience it, but the night's results were less than favorable. I made contact with the wall after losing tack coming out of the turn during the closing laps of the feature, which resulted in making contact with another driver. It was a driving error on my part. I always want to race clean and respectfully. With the wreck this past weekend, there is a lot of work to prepare for this weekend. We will get everything back together and be ready. I hope to turn good clean laps all weekend. I'm also hoping to get a little redemption at Beaver Dam while we still can!" The Travis Arenz Motorsports Team is set to enter a big tripleheader weekend of IRA action starting at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis., for the annual Sheboygan County Fair race on Friday, Aug. 29. Spectator gates are scheduled to open at 4 p.m. with racing starting at 6 p.m. The weekend closes with an appearance at The Hill Raceway in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., with the IRA 410 Sprint Car Series. He then placed sixth in the first IRA heat race before starting fifth in the B Main. Hartmann was running seventh, needing to place in the top four to advance to the main event, when an incident on lap 8 ended his evening early. He was credited with a 10th place showing. - After eventful double dip, Pokorski eyes IRA tripleheader
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) August 26, 2025 - Following a month away from competition, a weekend of 360 and 410 Sprint Car action offered a little bit of everything for Alex Pokorski and members of the Akright Auto Racing Team. The team opened the doubleheader weekend with a night of Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car action at The Plymouth Dirt Track on Friday, Aug 22. Alex began the program by registering the seventh fastest qualifying time in the 26-car field with a lap of 12.746 around the semi-banked third-mile clay oval. After starting third and placing second in the second heat race, the fifth-year Sprint Car racer rolled off from the fourth starting slot in the 25-lap headliner. The West Bend native used a strong start to vault into second on lap 4. While dueling with Scotty Thiel for the runner-up spot on lap 9, Pokorski brushed the front stretch wall, which resulted in a flat right rear tire. After retreating to the work area for a tire change, he rejoined the field, charging from 21st to secure a 12th place finish. One night later, on Saturday, Aug. 23, Pokorski and crew made their debut appearance at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Ill., for a Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series event. After qualifying 31st in the 36-car field with a lap of 12.227 seconds around the quarter-mile high-banked dirt oval, Pokorski placed seventh in the fourth heat race. Alex lined up sixth in the 12-lap B Main and was battling for the final A-main transfer spot when he clipped the front stretch wall on lap 7. The impact produced enough damage to bring the evening to a close for the No. 4 car. He was credited with a ninth place showing in the B main. "We had good speed in the 360 again," Pokorski said. "We were just unlucky to crash early in the A main. On the 410 side of things, we are still learning. I ended up driving it too hard and made some more work for us this week. We have a good start on it. I'm hoping to finish up the season strong, beginning with making the three shows this weekend." The Alex Pokorski-Akright Auto Racing Team is preparing for a big tripleheader weekend of IRA action starting at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis., for the annual Sheboygan County Fair race on Friday, Aug. 29. On-track action is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. One night later, Pokorski joins the IRA for the Harry Neitzel Tribute and Jim Wipperfurth Memorial in what is being billed as the final Sprint Car race ever to be held at Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wis., on Saturday, Aug. 30. - Hartmann tallies 2025 IRA best at Beaver Dam Raceway
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 30, 2025 - In a season that has put Austin Hartmann and the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing Team to the test many times over, a solid weekend overall effort highlighted with a season-best showing was just what the doctor ordered in a back to back to back Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association weekend of action. The IRA tripleheader opened at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., where Hartmann opened the night by turning in a 12.671-second qualifying lap to place 22nd in the 30-car field. From there, the 2020 Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car Rookie of the Year Award winner placed seventh in the first eight-lap heat race before starting third and racing to victory in the IRA B main to advance to main event competition. Hartmann wrapped up the night with an 18th-place showing in the A-main. The following night saw Hartmann string together his best night of the 2025 season at Beaver Dam Raceway on Saturday, July 26. After qualifying 13th in the 34-car field with a lap of 12.947 seconds, the Plymouth, Wis. native placed third in the first heat race to gain the 13th starting spot in the 30-lap headliner. Hartmann stayed smooth and consistent in the main event to capture a season-best seventh-place showing. The weekend closed out on Sunday, Aug. 27, at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis., where Hartmann qualified 13th out of 31 cars before placing fifth in the first heat race and coming home 17th in the 30-lap main event. "It's crazy how humbling this sport can be," Hartmann said. "We had the best car all season and the worst in the matter of 24 hours. - Arenz pushes forward through three-race IRA weekend
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 30, 2025 - Following a three-week hiatus, Travis Arenz and the Travis Arenz Motorsports team hit the track for a three-race weekend of competition with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series action at Mississippi Thunder Speedway on Friday, July 25, Beaver Dam Raceway on Saturday, July 26 and Angell Park Speedway on Sunday, July 27. Arenz opened the weekend with a 20th-place qualifying effort with a lap of 12.622 seconds in the 30-car field at the third-mile high-banked Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis. on Friday, July 25. The 2021 and 2022 Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion finished sixth in the second IRA heat race to roll off 18th in the 30-lap A-main. Arenz went on to advance eight spots to claim a solid 10th-place showing. The Sheboygan Falls, Wis. competitor found his groove at Beaver Dam Raceway on Saturday, July 26 by qualifying 11th in the 34-car field and gaining a dash berth by winning in the third heat race. After placing fourth in the first four-lap IRA dash, Arenz started seventh and moved up three spots to tally a weekend-best fourth-place finish in the 30-lap main event. At the historic Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. on Sunday, July 27, Arenz managed to qualify 16th in the 31-car field. Following a sixth-place finish in the first heat race, Arenz gained the 17th starting position in the 30-lap Salute to Bryan Gapinski main event. Arenz clawed his way up six positions to cap off the weekend in 11th. "The weekend wasn't that great for us," Arenz said. "We didn't perform how I would have liked, but I am pleased we moved forward each night. We also tried some new setup things that didn't go the best. On a positive note, the car is in one piece, and we all survived the hot temperatures. The only real problem I had this weekend was Sunday at Angell Park. I started losing oil pressure in the heat race. Luckily, it was just a gauge failure." After a two-week hiatus, the team is scheduled to resume its Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series campaign on Saturday, Aug. 16 at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., during the Kenosha County Fair. Spectator gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 5:45 p.m. and racing at 6:45 p.m. Arenz will close out the weekend at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis., as part of Corn Fest on Sunday, Aug. 17. - Perfect pass punctuates Pokorski's first Plymouth win
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 15, 2025 - As last-lap passes go, Alex Pokorski's slide job to steal the victory in the 25-lap Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car A-main at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, July 12, will not soon be forgotten. Pokorski's final lap heroics propelled him to not just any race win, but his first career PDTR 360 Sprint Car main event victory at his home track. The night got off to a strong start as the West Bend native recorded his second consecutive fast qualifier award in PDTR 360 Sprint Car competition with a lap of 12.853 seconds to lead the 23-car field. In the first eight-lap heat race, Pokorski advanced to third from the fourth starting spot to gain the pole position in the 25-lap main event. After leading the first three laps, Pokorski relinquished the top spot to Billy Kreutz on lap 4. As the laps wound down, slower traffic became an issue for Kreutz, which allowed Pokorski to cut the gap significantly before making a bid for the lead to no avail on lap 19. Three laps later, Pokorski ripped off a slide job in turn four to briefly take the lead. However, Kreutz battled back to reclaim the top spot with a slide job of his own in turn one on lap 23. On the final circuit, Pokorski wound up tight and unleashed a thrilling race-winning slide job in turn two to seize the top spot en route to his first career PDTR 360 Sprint Car A-main victory and second career Midwest Sprint Car Association main event win. It was Pokorski's first MSA victory since June 2, 2023 at Dodge County Fairgrounds Speedway in Beaver Dam, Wis. In five PDTR-MSA 360 Sprint Car starts in 2025, Pokorski has racked up an A-main victory to go along with three additional podium finishes and a lowest finish of ninth. "That race was a lot of fun," Pokorski said. "I think it's more rewarding than the last one because we had to really work for it, both on and off the track. The race I had with Billy [Kreutz] with the slide job to win on the final lap is how you dream of winning them. Dave [Schultz], Randy [Leamer] and my dad [Paul Pokorski] did a great job of helping me get the car set up just right. Also, getting our second quick time award in only five events with MSA was the cherry on top. Those results show we have a little more speed than last year, in addition to our feature finishes." Next up for the team is a Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series tripleheader starting Friday, July 25 at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., moving to Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wis. on Saturday, July 26 and closing at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. on Sunday, July 27. - Arenz grabs mixed bag at IRA Bloomington, Butler jaunt
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 2, 2025 - It was a tale of two nights for Travis Arenz and the Travis Arenz Motorsports team during a doubleheader weekend of Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series action at Bloomington Speedway in Indiana on Friday, June 27 and Butler Motor Speedway in Michigan on Saturday, June 28. Arenz's first visit to the quarter-mile high-banked Bloomington Speedway red clay oval in Bloomington, Ind. was one to forget. After struggling to muster the 28th fastest lap in the 29-car field, the 18th-year racer moved from 10th to seventh in the first eight-lap heat race to finish one spot out of an A-main transfer spot. He then placed third in the IRA B main to gain the 24th starting position in the 30-lap A main. However, Arenz pulled off early on, resulting in a 24th-place showing. "I thought Bloomington was a neat place," Arenz said. "I would be curious to see how things would have gone if the track didn't get as much rain and the surface wasn't crap. With having to start at the tail of the feature and already slicing two new tires, we decided to be smart, save our equipment and keep a few laps off our motor. Considering those factors, I chose to pull off in the early laps of the feature." One night later, at Butler Motor Speedway in Quincy, Mich., proved to be an improvement as Arenz opened the night by securing fast qualifier honors in the 37-car field with a lap of 13.382 seconds around the three-eighths-mile high-banked dirt oval. After placing second in the first heat race and third in IRA dash 1, the Sheboygan Falls, Wis. driver started the 30-lap main event from the fifth starting position. He wavered between fourth and seventh place throughout the event before coming home with a strong fifth-place showing to mark his fifth top-five finish of the 2025 campaign. "I liked racing at Butler," Arenz said. "It was sort of a combination of a few tracks we run frequently. I enjoy competing at new tracks to test my skills." With the IRA off until the end of July, Arenz is unsure if he will enter any races in the coming weeks. The IRA season will resume with a tripleheader weekend starting Friday, July 26 at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., moving on to Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wis. on Saturday, July 27 and ending up at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. on Sunday, July 28. "As for the plans in the next few weeks, it's up in the air as of now," Arenz said. "If I can, I would like to race a time or two to keep my skills sharp." The 2025 Travis Arenz Motorsports sponsorship partners include Professional Plating Inc., Service One Transportation Inc., Don and Lynn Kiel, Oostburg Concrete, Wittkopp Funeral and Cremation Services, Pfeffer Trucking, Carbliss, Oostburg State Bank, PalletWorks LLC, Jensen Sales and Service, Roth's Auto Restoration, Sonntag Plumbing Inc., Amy Bruechert Realty, Lake Auto Glass, Fastenal, Hair Fellers Barbershop, Arenz Auto Detailing and Duehring's Tax Service. (PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 11, 2025 - No matter how many victories he might secure or championship trophies he may lift during the remainder of his racing career, June 5, 2025, will most certainly be a date neither Travis Arenz nor a legion of Sprint Car fans near and far will ever forget. Following a strong start to the 2025 Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series, Arenz checked into 141 Speedway hoping to gain experience against top-level competition in his first career entry in a Kubota High Limit Racing event for the series' debut at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek, Wis. on Thursday, June 5. The 18th-year competitor left the 141 Speedway facility as the shocking winner of the $26,000 Rayce Rudeen Foundation top prize with High Limit Racing, which boasts a strong contingent of the best 410 Winged Sprint Car racers in the world. Arenz's remarkable evening opened by drawing the No. 1 pill for qualifying, which turned out to be very advantageous for the Sheboygan Falls, Wis. driver. As the track began to dry out significantly during the qualifying session, Arenz's early lap of 11.209 put him second in the final qualifying order among the 29-car field. After placing fourth in the second High Limit heat race, Arenz advanced to the dash, which set the first three rows of starters for the 35-lap main event. Arenz placed fifth in the dash to roll off fifth in the first High Limit Racing A main to ever be contested at 141 Speedway. The 2021 and 2022 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing and Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Car champion bided his time in the opening laps of the A main sticking primarily to the bottom groove of the third-mile semi-banked egg-shaped clay oval bullring. On lap 12, Arenz snuck underneath Justin Peck to claim second. Following the third caution flag of the race on lap 15, Arenz dove low to power past leader Bill Balog and grab the top spot. From there, Arenz successfully endured four more caution flags and pulled out to a half-lap lead over the second-place car of Tanner Thorson on the way to his first career High Limit Racing main event victory in his first-ever attempt. The win also marked Arenz's third career 410 Sprint Car victory and his 73rd overall A-main triumph spanning 4-cylinders, Sport Mods, 360 Sprint Cars and 410 Sprint Cars. "It was a ride of emotions at 141," Arenz said. "It was a night that made history and one we will never forget. The night started great with the pill draw going in our favor. I would have been ecstatic with a top-10 finish. Who would have thought we would go out and win? I like to take advantage of competing with other series when I can to gain more experience and challenge my knowledge and driving skills. How are you going to get better if you don't challenge yourself? "This is the biggest accomplishment to date in my racing career," he said. "It's been talked about lately how the drivers on national series drive race cars for a living. Most have a set-up guy and paid crew members. My crew and I work full-time jobs. I work 50-plus hours a week, do maintenance on the cars and equipment and then go race. I also make set-up decisions and read track conditions. So, to be able to be competitive with these top teams is very rewarding. It's an honor to earn such a big win for my sponsors, crew and myself." After soaring to the highest of highs in the sport of Winged Sprint Car racing, Arenz endured some challenges during a pair of NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Series events on Friday, June 6 at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. and Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wis. on Saturday, June 7. Arenz qualified 30th overall and 15th in qualifying group B in the 39-car field with a time of 12.112 seconds at The Plymouth Dirt Track. He then placed seventh in heat race three to miss out on an A-main transfer spot by two positions. Arenz placed sixth in the 12-lap Last Chance Showdown to fall short of qualifying for the A main by a pair of spots. On Saturday, June 7, the Travis Arenz Motorsports 25T team headed southwest to the Beaver Dam Raceway where Arenz turned in the 34th fastest qualifying lap in the 36-car field in 12.139 seconds. He placed ninth in the second heat race and started 14th in the 12-lap Last Chance Showdown. After moving up to ninth on lap 6, Arenz got high in turn two and collided with the wall, which ended his night with a 14th-place showing. "At Plymouth at Beaver Dam, our drawing skills for qualifying were terrible," Arenz said. "I qualified almost last both nights and with the heavy competition, we didn't move forward as much as we needed to. There were some set-up choices I should have made differently and, unfortunately, we didn't make the features on Friday or Saturday. On Saturday, unfortunately, the wall in turn two ended our night early in the B main. I would have been interested to see what would have happened if I had been able to finish the B. In 6 laps I drove from 14th to 9th and the top four transferred to the A main. All in all, I learned so much during the weekend." Arenz will return to Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association competition on Friday, June 13 at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois and Saturday, June 14 at Federated Auto Parts I-55 Raceway Park in Pevely, Missouri.
