Cypress, CA — August 24, 2026 — After the disappointment of losing an engine in qualifying five weeks earlier at Perris Auto Speedway, 2023 USAC/CRA Champion Brody Roa came back strong on August 15th, setting the second-fastest time in Woodland Auto Display qualifying, winning his heat race and placing third in the main event on the Riverside County clay oval.
Three weeks after winning the June 20 USAC/CRA race at Perris, Roa toured the famous half-mile in 16.977 on his first qualifying lap on July 11. That ended up being the third-fastest time of the night. Unfortunately, on his second lap, the engine in the #91R detonated, ending his night.
August 15th was a different story. Roa qualified second fastest at 17.046 and won the second heat race. Starting fifth in the 30-lap main, he worked his way to second, challenged for the lead and eventually finished third—a far better outcome than the blown engine disaster five weeks earlier.
"It ran all night and it ran perfectly," Roa told Dave Stall on Sunday's Racer Radio Show. "The guys at Shaver fixed it up pretty quick and it was solid all night long. It was around the bottom in the main event. That is really not my style of racetrack. I was second and made an attempt to go around RJ (eventual second place finisher RJ Johnson) and lost second. I settled into third. That was good, I will take it."
Roa will return to Perris on September 19, but before that, he will head to his favorite West Coast track, Calistoga Speedway, for the Louie Vermeil Classic on Labor Day weekend.
"We are getting our ducks in a row," Roa told Stall of his prep for the track located in California's famous Wine Country. "It is my favorite track on the West Coast because of how big it is. I like tracks that are big and fast. That is why I like Perris so much, too."
"We are looking for partners for the Calistoga weekend. It is a really cool event that has a lot of visibility (including world wide coverage on Flo Racing). The side of our hood is wide open for it. Anybody that wants to be a partner of a race team that big weekend can contact me on social media on Facebook or Instagram and we can work something out."
The following marketing partners have backed Roa for the 2026 campaign. ALR Virtual Services, Biker Bruce, Caltrol, Innovative Sewer Scope and Plumbing, Big Chino Ranch, Molecule, Shaver Racing Engines, Barnes Pumps, and Specialized Coatings.
