ATTICA, Ohio - Craig Mintz switched chassis manufacturer this season and it has paid off. Mintz led all 30 laps of the 410 sprint feature Friday, Sept. 11 at Attica Raceway Park to secure his second victory at the track to close out the track's 2026 season.
Mintz watched a 1.5 second lead evaporate with nine laps to go due to a caution which put six time Attica winner Cap Henry on his rear bumper. Mintz, from Gibsonburg, Ohio, railed the top side of the track to perfection to secure his 19th career Attica win on the Mark Keegan Classic Season Championship Night presented by Great Lakes Truck Centers/All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads/RPM Performance Parts/Murphy Tractor and Equipment/Wylie & Sons Quarry/Kistler Racing Products/Custom Chrome Plating. Henry, Jordan Ryan, Zeth Sabo and Chris Andrews rounded out the top five.
Cap Henry clinched his fifth Callie's Performance Products 410 Sprint track championship. It's his fourth straight track title. He also padded his lead in the All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads/Kistler Racing Products Attica Fremont Championship Series presented by the Baumann Auto Group as he tries to wrap up his fifth series title. Henry can clinch his fourth straight AFCS championship Saturday, Sept. 12 at Fremont Speedway
"I knew I was going to get this 'old man' thing in the pits if I didn't run as hard as I could around the top. I saw the 33W lined up behind me on that restart…that was the hardest nine laps I've run in a long time. Chris Hartsel, my dad, my wife….everybody that's a part of this team works so hard. We switched to Triple X this year and it's been a mind-boggling change. We worked a lot during the off-season with ProShock and Jim Linder to change our shock program a ton and it's really helped us a lot," said Mintz beside his Real Geese Decoys, Gill Construction, Grant Decker Construction, Bettsville American Legion, KS Sales and Service, Linder's Speed Equipment backed #09.
For Henry, having to come from eighth starting spot because of the Attica Challenge presented some difficulties.
"We were the only car in the top three that didn't start in the front two rows. We were the only 410 to have to start eighth nearly every week…nobody else came back when they had to. We had really great cars all year long because of my guys' hard work. I never thought I'd win one title let alone five so this is been pretty cool," said Henry beside his Jeff Ward Demolition, Premier Planning Services, Elliott's Custom Trailers and Carts, The Tony Elliott Foundation, Primal Tee Shop, Innovative Excavating, Mobil 1, King Racing Products, Blue Stripe Equipment Rentals, SCS Gearbox, Power Cool Manufacturing, Kistler Racing Products, Griff's Engines, Callie's Performance Products, Factory 41, Ballistic Designs backed #33W.
Todd Brennan knew he had his work cut out for him if he was going to win the Dirt Nerds Podcast Powered by Propane UMP Late Model track championship. The Zanesville, Ohio driver took the lead in the 25-lap A-main from Eric Wilson on lap nine and held off several challenges from Ryan Missler before scoring his first ever Attica victory. Missler, Ryan Markham, Devin Shiels and Colin Shipley rounded out the top five.
Shiels fourth place finish was good enough to secure his sixth Attica championship by just one point over Brennan.
"We struggled a little bit with this new car just trying to get where we needed to be in a frustrating season. We just weren't very good and it was so frustrating because we had been really good over the past few years. About four weeks ago we found a few things and I told my guys we've got a really good race car now. I'm kicking myself from the last race (Doug Drown got by him on the last corner of the last lap)…I got too conservative out there. This track is bad ass. I love it up here. This is one of the few places I haven't won at," said Brennan beside his Hot Shot 107, Dow Cameron Drilling, Angry Duck, 571 Contracting, Bella Freight backed #20.
Shiels' track championship wasn't easy as he had to battle the entire race to stay in the top five. Add to that his son took a nasty flip in the feature.
"That was a little nerve racking seeing Brayden upside down awhile. The crew guys gave me the thumbs up that he was okay. Perfect time for his mother and grandmother to be here. I'm ready to be done with chasing championships," said Shiels beside his Magic Fountain Auto Wash, Rally's Hamburgers, Dundee Products, Banshee Graphics, Salenbein Trucking & Excavating; Hodges Multi Trade Services, Dirt Nerds Podcast backed #51.
Even though it will show Steve Rando led all 25 laps of the Fremont Fence 305 Sprints A-main, it doesn't show how exciting the feature was as the Lindsey, Ohio driver had to hold off multiple challenges from Paul Weaver. Rando earned his second win of 2026 and his eighth career win at Attica over Weaver, Seth Schneider, Jimmy McGrath and Brenden Torok.
"I saw Paul duck under me a few times and I knew I had to do something. Lapped cars were not fun. The season that Bryan (Sebetto) has had…to get two wins here this year feels pretty darn good," said Rando beside his : Bill Tool & Machine, Davis Fabricators, Wolf Pack Tree Service, Attitudes Hair Salon, Triple L. Logistics, Pub 400, Gressman Powersports backed #19R.
Sebetto wrapped up his first ever Attica Raceway Park track title, scoring five wins at the track in 2026.
