Pokorski wrap 2026 season with IRA twin bill

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) September 29, 2026 - Alex Pokorski capped the 2026 season behind the wheel of his No. 4 GR8 Team car during championship weekend with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series Friday, Sept. 25 at Outagamie Speedway in Seymour, Wis., and Saturday, Sept. 26 at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis.

The seventh-year Sprint Car competitor fired up the weekend by qualifying seventh in the 28-car field with a lap of 11.839 seconds at Outagamie Speedway on Friday. After placing second in the first IRA heat race, Pokorski secured his first IRA dash appearance of the 2026 season.

After placing fifth in the second dash, the West Bend, Wis. native rolled off 10th in the 30-lap main event. He advanced up to eighth on lap 19 before falling back a few spots in the closing laps to earn a 13th-place showing.

On Saturday, the team headed to The Plymouth Dirt for the 2026 season-ending Wisconsin Sprint Car Championships with the IRA, where Pokorski qualified 17th among the 31 entries with a lap of 11.719 seconds.

A sixth-place showing in the second heat race placed Pokorski in the 17th starting position. After an opening-lap incident sent him to the work area, Pokorski restarted 20th before coming home with an 18th-place finish.

"We had a good night at Outagamie, but we struggled a bit at Plymouth," Pokorski said. "I wish we could've ended a little better, but racing doesn't always go the way you want it to."

After racing for car owner Spyder Akright from 2022 through 2025, Pokorski teamed up with his father, Paul, to debut a new family operation in 2026 along with help from Russ Wetenkamp and his GR8 Team crew.

"We had a number of new experiences this season, racing with High Limit and the World of Outlaws, going to new tracks, and owning our own car again," Pokorski said. "I also had fun racing with our joint GR8 team."
