IRA - Interstate Racing Association
The Interstate Racing Association commonly known as the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series is a regional winged/410 Outlaw Sprint Car sanctioning body. IRA was founded in the mid 1960's and competed in their early years as winged Super Modifieds. The term Interstate Racing Association came from the fact that the racers hailed from southeast Wisconsin and Northern Illinois and the fact the tracks they competed at, such as Wilmot and the Waukegan Speedway were just over the border from each other off the I-94 corridor.
The group eventually converted to Sprint Cars in the mid 70's. Wilmot Speedway was the home of Saturday night Sprint Car racing for many a year. Car counts were huge! In 1993, the IRA chose to hit the road with more frequency and competed at several other venues and ventured far. IRA became a full blown regional traveling series. The IRA is one of the country's premier regional 410 sanctions.

- Arenz seals 75th career feature victory
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 29, 2026 - In a season highlighted by remarkable consistency, Travis Arenz broke through to score his first A-main victory of the year in Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series competition at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis., and run his overall career feature victory tally to 75 on Sunday, July 26. With 23 IRA Sprint Cars signed in, Arenz opened the night by qualifying seventh with a time of 13.485 seconds around the historic third-mile Angell Park clay oval. After starting and finishing second in the first IRA heat race, the Sheboygan Falls, Wis. driver drew the pole position for the first IRA dash and brought it home first to claim the pole position for the 30-lap main event. From the drop of the green flag Arenz was the class of field throughout the race, pulling away from the pack on three restarts, including one open red, and skillfully slicing his way through lapped traffic on the way to his first main event win of the 2026 season, fourth IRA A-main victory, fifth triumph in the seat of a 410 Sprint Car and 75th overall career main event victory. The IRA tripleheader weekend opened at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis. on Friday, July 24. After qualifying second in the 30-car field with a lap of 12.081 seconds, Arenz placed third in the second heat race and fourth in dash 1 to claim the seventh starting spot in the 30-lap IRA headliner. The two-time Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion ran in the top five throughout the majority of the race en route to a strong fourth-place showing. On Saturday, July 25, Arenz ventured to Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis. for the prestigious $10,000-to-win Jerry Richert Memorial. With a stellar field of 41 cars on hand, Arenz qualified fifth in Flight B in 12.790 seconds before finishing second in the third heat race to gain the 12th starting slot in the 30-lap main event. He fell back to 14th in the first half of the race before rallying in the closing stages to post a solid seventh-place finish. Arenz's outstanding weekend vaulted him to the top of the IRA point standings with 10 races remaining in the 2026 season. "I'm very pleased with the results from a long and tiring weekend," Arenz said. "I wouldn't say we had any horrible nights, but there is always room for improvement. After Saturday night, I had taken over the points lead, so I knew there was no question that I needed to be smooth and consistent on Sunday at Angell Park to maintain or increase our lead. "From qualifying in the middle of the group, I was able to make the dash," he said. "I had a little luck on my side to draw the dash starting position and earn the pole position come feature time. I knew I had to be aggressive to maneuver lap traffic but also be smooth enough to keep the car under me through the ruts. Keeping the car free was the key to the win." Of Arenz's 75 main event wins, 30 have been with the Midwest Sprint Car Association/Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Cars, as well as 20 apiece in the Outlaw Compact 4-Cylinder and IMCA Northern Sport Mod/Plymouth Dirt Track Racing B Mod divisions. He also owns four IRA 410 Sprint Car feature wins, along with a $26,000 High Limit Racing 410 Sprint Car victory. Next up for Arenz and the members of the Travis Arenz Motorsports Team is a return to their home track - The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. - where Arenz has recorded a total of 38 A-main wins in four different divisions over 19 seasons of competition. - Hartmann hones in on home track return
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 28, 2026 - One week after bagging his first career A-main win at River Cities Speedway in North Dakota, Austin Hartmann, along with the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing Team, trekked to northwestern Wisconsin for a pair of Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series events July 24-25. The doubleheader weekend fired up at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis. on Friday, July 24. With 30 cars checked in for the event, the Plymouth, Wis. driver opened the night with a strong seventh-place qualifying run in 12.239 seconds at the picturesque third-mile high-banked clay oval. After starting on the outside of the front row of the first IRA heat race, the driver of the pole-sitting car slipped up into Hartmann as the two competitors dueled for the lead on the opening lap. The contact forced Hartmann to visit the work area for repairs. After restarting the race at the rear of the field, he ended up with a ninth-place finish. The seventh-year Sprint Car competitor rebounded to race his way into a berth in the evening's main event by placing third in the 12-lap B main. Hartmann started 22nd in the 30-lap IRA headliner and capped the night with an 18th-place showing. One night later, Hartmann and crew traveled north with the IRA to the Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., for the Jerry Richert Memorial. After qualifying 12th in Flight A in 12.574 seconds, Hartmann placed eighth in the second heat race. He advanced from the fifth starting spot to place third in the first 10-lap B main to miss qualifying for the 30-lap main event by one spot. "It was a rough weekend," Hartmann said. "Our night got changed in a big way in the heat race on Friday, not by my doing. On Saturday, we unloaded decent. We just needed to make better decisions on setup. Also, bringing out a new engine for the weekend really changed the feel of the car." The Plymouth, Wis.-based team is set to race in its own backyard for a Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series event at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. this Saturday, Aug. 1. - Arenz warms up for IRA tripleheader
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 22, 2026 - After a two-weekend hiatus from competition, Travis Arenz and the members of the Travis Arenz Motorsports Team hit the road on Saturday, July 18, for a $5,000-to-win unsanctioned event at Butler Motor Speedway in Quincy, Mich. The evening was not what Arenz hoped for as his 25T machine was plagued by mechanical issues, which hampered his efforts throughout the racing program. After qualifying 13th with a lap of 14.192 seconds around the 3/8-mile high-banked dirt oval, Arenz placed fourth in the first heat race to claim the 10th starting spot in the 25-lap main event. The Sheboygan Falls, Wis. driver worked his way up to sixth on lap 15 and was running seventh when a motor issue forced him to drop out of the race on lap 21. He was credited with a 17th-place showing. "We found a coolant leak during engine heat, so I missed firing off," Arenz said. "I also missed my qualifying position. I was able to go out dead last and get one lap of qualifying in. The feature was decent, but I didn't go far enough on setup. I was battling for fifth when we lost the head gasket on the engine and ended up with a DNF [did not finish]." After taking a month off, the Travis Arenz Motorsports team will return to Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series action with a tripleheader weekend starting this Friday, July 24, at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., before moving on to the prestigious $10,000-to-win Jerry Reichert Memorial at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., on Saturday, July 25, and finishing up Sunday, July 26, at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. - Hartmann basks in first win glow
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 21, 2026 - While enduring seven seasons of ups, downs, and everything in between, Austin Hartmann and the 87A Hartmann Racing Team embraced a can-do attitude and steadfast dedication to a sport that is as tough as it is unforgiving. On Friday, July 17, everything fell into place as Hartmann drove his 87A machine to his first career A-main victory in the 30-lap Midwest Sprint Touring Series-Northern Outlaw Sprint Association Buffalo Wild Wings King of the Wings event at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D. Hartmann headed into the night with fond memories of a Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association event on July 19, 2024, during which he led 10 laps of the A main on the way to a then-career-best fourth-place showing. For the evening's qualifying-free racing format, which featured a deep field of 33 MSTS-NOSA competitors, Hartmann came out strong, storming up five spots from seventh to place second in the fourth 10-lap heat race. The Plymouth, Wis. driver's stellar heat race run gave him an outside front row starting spot in the six-lap dash. After placing second in the dash, Hartman launched from second in the 30-lap main event. After trailing Jack Croaker during the first three laps, Hartmann pounced to seize the lead on lap 4 and never looked back. The 2020 Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car Rookie of the Year endured a couple of caution and red flag periods over the final 26 laps to secure his maiden trip to victory lane. Hartmann opened the team's three-race Minnesota-North Dakota swing with a visit to Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minn., where 28 cars checked in for a Buffalo Wild Wings King of the Wings Midwest Sprint Touring Series and Northern Outlaw Sprint Car Association co-sanctioned event at the 3/8-mile semi-banked dirt oval. The Plymouth, Wis. driver drew the pole position for the second heat race in the qualifying-free race format. Hartmann led all eight laps of the race on the way to his first heat race victory of the 2026 campaign, and a berth in the six-lap dash to set the front four rows of the 25-lap A main. After placing seventh in the dash, Hartmann lined up from the inside of the fourth row for the main event. The seventh-year Sprint Car competitor endured a handful of caution periods to post a 12th-place showing. On Saturday, July 18, Hartmann tallied a fifth-place heat race finish before ending up 23rd in the main event at Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon, Minn., to close out the tripleheader MSTS-NOSA King of the Wings weekend. "Man, what a weekend!" Hartmann said. "It started off with two blown drive tires on the truck on the way to Ada, Minnesota, on Thursday. Friday night at River Cities really was a perfect night. Everything really went our way, and that's what it takes to win these races. At the start of that feature, I knew the inside was going to fire off better, so I tucked in and waited for my opportunity in traffic. "Running 10-second laps while in traffic is no joke," he said. "It was super tough to navigate where the guys were going, but we were able to move around to get by them. It was like a weight lifted off my shoulders Friday night after the checkers. You put so much into this sport, and it'll show you time and time again that it owes you nothing. I'm super happy I could park it for my team and family. Without them, this isn't possible. We'll let this one soak in and gear up for a doubleheader this weekend." The 87A Hartmann Racing Team is slated to venture to the western part of Wisconsin this weekend for a pair of events with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association Sprint Car Series. On Friday, July 24, the team will compete at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., before traveling to Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., for the prestigious $10,000-to-win Jerry Richert Memorial on Saturday, July 25. 87A Hartmann Racing 2026 sponsorship partners include Kristine Hartmann, Realtor of Pleasantview Realty, Shufflebotham Tree Service, The Dispensary, Double A Autobody, Quasius Construction, Holler n' Hills, High Speed TI, Metalcraft, Hepfner Racing Products, Berryman Racing Shocks, and Keizer Racing Wheels. - Pokorski mixes well with Outlaws
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 14, 2026 - Accumulating experience against the top drivers and teams in the Winged Sprint Car Racing world has been a focus of the 2026 season for Alex Pokorski and GR8 Team. Making a NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series A main was at the top of the season goal list. Pokorski and the GR8 Team successfully checked that box during a doubleheader weekend with the Outlaws at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11. The weekend fired off on a tough note for Pokorski when he clipped the turn-two wall on the opening lap of his qualifying effort on Friday. After failing to record a qualifying time, the West Bend, Wis. native started at the rear of the first heat race. A seventh-place heat race effort placed him in the sixth starting position for the Outlaws Last Chance Showdown (B Main). Pokorski ended up finishing sixth in the 12-lap event to miss out on advancing to the A main by two positions. With a clean slate on Saturday, July 11, Pokorski and the GR8 crew hit their stride, qualifying 17th in the 30-car field with a lap of 12.831 seconds around the tricky three-eighths semi-banked clay oval. After starting sixth in heat 2, Pokorski dueled with 10-time World of Outlaws champion Donny Schatz for the final A-main transfer spot during the 8-lap race. In the end, Pokorski got the best of the Sprint Car legend to earn a berth in his first career World of Outlaws main event. Pokorski's A-main effort was hampered by a wing issue after launching from the 17th starting spot in the 35-lap main event. After retreating to the work area to fix the problem, Pokorski returned to score a 21st-place finish in his World of Outlaws main event debut. "The weekend got off to a quite frustrating start, after catching a rut and putting it in the wall Friday for qualifying," Pokorski said. "We improved a lot with some extra help in the pits on Saturday. It was fun to race with [Donny] Schatz in the heat race for the feature transfer spot. Our A main started well. But, I had to go to the work area due to losing a bolt in the wing slider. Later on, I faded a bit. Overall, we improved a lot and made the feature, which was our goal entering the night." After taking the upcoming weekend off, Pokorski and the GR8 Team will head west with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association to Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., on Friday, July 24, before heading to Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., for the $10,000-to-win Jerry Richert Memorial on Saturday, July 25. - Arenz aligns with Outlaws at PlymouthArenz aligns with Outlaws at Plymouth
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 10, 2026 - Travis Arenz entered uncharted territory with his 25T 410 Sprint Car Saturday, June 6, qualifying for his first-career NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series A main in front of a record crowd at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. The Sheboygan Falls, Wis. competitor started the evening off strong as he qualified 10th overall in the stout 33-car field with a lap of 11.567 seconds. After dropping from the third starting spot to finish sixth in heat race number two, the two-time Plymouth Dirt Track Racing and Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Car champ finished fourth in the Last Chance Showdown to gain a berth in the 35-lap World of Outlaws main event for the first time in his 19-season career. After rolling off 24th, Arenz's night came to an early end after contacting an infield tire and flipping in turn two to end with a 24th-place showing. "We qualified well with World of Outlaws," Arenz said. "I've been working on being more consistent with qualifying, and I've been pretty happy with the results. Unfortunately, I didn't keep up with the car and track well enough later on in the night, and I made way too many mistakes in the heat and feature. "There was a decent amount of damage from the accident, but we will get it back together for both Outagamie County and Shawano this coming weekend," he said. Arenz is scheduled to return to Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association action this Friday, June 12, at Outagamie Speedway in Seymour, Wis. - Hartmann shows speed at Plymouth, sights in Wilmot-141
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) May 20, 2026 - Austin Hartmann and the 87A Hartmann Racing Team uncovered the key to speed for a Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series event on their home turf at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis., on Saturday, May 16. With 32 IRA cars checked in for the evening, Hartmann blazed out of the gate to record the fourth fastest qualifying lap in a fleet 11.490 seconds. The Plymouth, Wis. driver went on to earn an IRA dash berth with a fifth-place showing in the fourth heat race. The seventh-year Sprint Car competitor gained the seventh starting position in the 30-lap IRA main event after placing fourth in the first four-lap dash. Hartmann kept pace near the front of the field in the early stages of the A main before advancing to fourth on a lap 23 restart. After briefly pressuring Logan Julien for third, Hartmann engaged in a duel with Zach Daum for fourth. After falling to fifth on lap 24, Hartmann battled back to pull even with Daum in turn one on the following lap. However, the two drivers made contact, resulting in a slow rollover. The resulting damage caused Hartmann to retire from the race with a 20th-place showing to his credit. "We put a lot of work in during the offseason preparing for the season, which is ultimately what led to the speed we had at Plymouth," Hartmann said. "We really weren't that good all night until the feature. We just kept working on it to make it better. "In the feature, we were still missing the last little bit to go forward," he said. "We were good early, but cars getting into trouble is what helped us. The crash wasn't too bad on our end. It was just a racing deal, going hard for a top-five spot. The car is back together, and we're ready for Wilmot." The 87A Hartmann Racing Team is scheduled to compete in a pair of IRA events during the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. On Saturday, May 23, the team will travel to Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., for the annual Founders Night event, and Sunday, May 24, will see action at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek, Wis. - Arenz keeps steady at Plymouth, preps for IRA doubleheader
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) May 20, 2026 - Travis Arenz and his Travis Arenz Motorsports Team maintained their early-season consistency with a third-straight top-10 A-main run in Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series competition at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis., on Saturday, May 16. Arenz came out of the gate on blast by registering the second-fastest qualifying lap in the 32-car field in 11.471 seconds. The 19th-year competitor posted a third-place showing in the second heat race to earn his third straight IRA dash appearance of the 2026 campaign. After placing fourth in the second IRA dash, the Sheboygan Falls, Wis. driver rolled off eighth for the 30-lap main event. Arenz advanced from ninth in the early stages of the race into seventh near the halfway point. The two-time Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion secured sixth on lap 25 before coming home seventh to register his third straight top-10 showing in 2026 IRA action. "We were second quick in qualifying but didn't have a good enough car to compete for a podium finish in the feature," Arenz said. "We made the dash again, which is extremely helpful with getting extra laps with this new car, but I didn't go far enough on setup to get it where it needed to be. Overall, I'm glad to make it through the night with no issues." Arenz is looking forward to entering a pair of IRA events during the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. On Saturday, May 23, the Travis Arenz Motorsports Team will head to Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., for the annual Founders Night event. - Arenz opens IRA campaign with twin top 10s
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) May 13, 2026 - Travis Arenz ramped up the 2026 Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series season on a positive note, tallying a pair of top-10 finishes in Iowa and Illinois on Friday, May 8, and Saturday, May 9. The Travis Arenz Motorsports team made its first trip to Davenport Speedway in Davenport, Iowa, for the 2026 IRA season opener on Friday, May 8. The Sheboygan Falls, Wis. competitor turned in the 14th fastest qualifying time in the 35-car field with a lap of 12.901 on the quarter-mile, slightly-banked dirt oval. Arenz then rolled to his first heat race victory of the 2026 campaign after starting on the pole in the second 8-lap IRA heat race to earn a spot in IRA dash 2. After starting second, the two-time Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion came home third in the second IRA four-lap dash to nail down an outside third row starting position in the 25-lap main event. Searching for the fastest line on the rubber-heavy racing surface, Arenz kept pace near the front of the field throughout the main event. He ran steadily between the eighth and 10th spots as drivers hunted the best way around the tricky track. A final-lap move pushed Arenz to a ninth-place showing to wrap up the 2026 IRA season opener. One night later, Arenz travelled east to Sycamore Speedway in Maple Park, Ill., on Saturday, May 9, where he qualified seventh in the 22-car field with a lap of 14.122 seconds on the three-eighths-mile semi-banked clay oval. In the first heat race, Arenz placed fourth to advance to the second dash, where he finished fifth to earn the 10th starting spot in the 30-lap main event. After firing from the outside of the fifth row, Arenz advanced steadily up through the field as the track filled with rubber. On lap 25, Arenz swept into sixth place, and he held onto the spot for the rest of the way. "We definitely chased set-ups that are a little different than in the past, but we are always pushing to be better," Arenz said. "I'm happy we made the dash both nights, but I needed that extra push for better feature results." Arenz is eyeing a return to The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis., this Saturday, May 16, with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series. Spectator gates open at 4:30 p.m. with hot laps slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. On Sunday, May 17, the team will visit Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis., with spectator gates opening at 4 p.m., hot laps at 5 p.m., and opening ceremonies at 6 p.m. "Plymouth and Angell Park are tracks we have been to very frequently, so I usually have a good idea of how the track is going to change throughout the night," Arenz said. "I'm looking forward to racing at both places again." All IRA events are streamed live on floracing.com. - Hartmann pads notebook, preps for Plymouth- Angell Park double dip
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) May 12, 2026 - Opening the 2026 season with a doubleheader weekend of 410 Sprint Car racing action in the Sprint Car-laden state of Iowa proved to be a productive learning experience for Austin Hartmann and the 87A Hartmann Racing Team. First up was the team's 2026 season opener with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association, and career debut at Davenport Speedway in Davenport, Iowa, on Friday, May 8. The Plymouth, Wis. driver opened the night by qualifying 23rd in the 35-car field with a lap of 13.363 around the quarter-mile, slightly banked dirt oval. Hartmann then placed fourth after lining up sixth in the third 8-lap heat race to earn a direct transfer spot into the 25-lap A main. After rolling off 16th, Hartmann was running 18th before his 87A machine was involved in an incident in turn one on lap 7, which ended Hartmann's evening. He was credited with a 24th-place finish. One night later, the Hartmann squad made its second-ever appearance at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa. With 33 410 Sprint Cars checked in for the event, Hartmann kicked things off by qualifying 16th in qualifying flight 2 with a lap of 16.497 seconds on the world-renowned half-mile semi-banked dirt oval. After starting and finishing eighth in the fourth 8-lap heat race, Hartmann fired off 12th and moved up two spots to come home 10th in the 12-lap B main to miss transferring to the A main by six spots. "For the first night out with the new chassis at Davenport, aside from the racetrack not being the greatest, we were able to work on the slick package," Hartmann said. "I think we clicked on something there on the short track side of our operation. "That same car at Knoxville didn't fare too well," he said. "It's easy to get laps at Knoxville, but hard to be good. I think we will put a separate car together for half miles and be back better." Hartmann is set to head back to his hometown track - The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. - this Saturday, May 16, with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series. Spectator gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. On Sunday, May 17, the team heads to Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis., with spectator gates opening at 4 p.m., hot laps at 5 p.m., and opening ceremonies at 6 p.m. "I'm excited the season has finally started, and we get to race at home this upcoming weekend," Hartmann said. 87A Hartmann Racing 2026 sponsorship partners include Kristine Hartmann, Realtor of Pleasantview Realty, Shufflebotham Tree Service, The Dispensary, Double A Autobody, Quasius Construction, Holler n' Hills, High Speed TI, Metalcraft, Hepfner Racing Products, Berryman Racing Shocks, and Keizer Racing Wheels. - Arenz tests Jacksonville, hunts IRA opener
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) May 6, 2026 - After seven months out of the seat, Travis Arenz took the controls of his 25T 410 Sprint Car for the first time in 2026 on Friday, May 1. Following the cancellation of the scheduled Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association season opener at Wilmot Raceway on Saturday, May 2, Arenz decided to venture 365 miles south to the quarter-mile, high-banked Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Ill., for the 2026 Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA) lid lifter. The Sheboygan Falls, Wis. competitor opened the night by drawing the pole in the third 10-lap MOWA heat race. Arenz settled into second place behind fellow front row starter Zach Daum on the drop of the green flag. The two-time Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing champion rode the spot the rest of the way en route to a runner-up showing. Launching from the ninth starting position in the 25-lap MOWA main event, Arenz was running 13th when the first of five caution flags came out on lap 11. Following two more caution periods, Arenz lined up 11th on a lap 20 restart. He maintained the 11th spot until another yellow flag appeared with just two laps remaining. On the restart, Arenz got bottled up among a group of cars and spun in turn four. After restarting 15th, Arenz opened his 19th season of competition with a 14th-place showing. "The decision to race was to really just get some laps in this season and never being to Jacksonville, I wanted to have some laps there before heading back in June," Arenz said. "Overall, we didn't do very well. We struggled early on. I didn't make enough changes by feature time. Now, I know what direction I need to head towards when it comes to that place. "On the restart, two cars got into each other slightly, and I hammered the brakes," he said. "I turned left to avoid the guy in front of me, causing me to bring the caution out. We're looking for better results at both IRA shows this weekend." The Travis Arenz Motorsports team will fire up the 2026 IRA campaign with a doubleheader weekend at Davenport Speedway in Davenport, Iowa, on Friday, May 8, and Sycamore Speedway in Maple Park, Ill., on Saturday, May 9. Spectator gates open at Davenport Speedway at 5 p.m. with hot laps scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. At Sycamore Speedway, spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m., hot laps start at 6:30 p.m., and racing to follow at 7:30 p.m. All IRA events are streamed live on floracing.com.
