  Arenz seals 75th career feature victory

  (PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 29, 2026 - In a season highlighted by remarkable consistency, Travis Arenz broke through to score his first A-main victory of the year in Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series competition at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis., and run his overall career feature victory tally to 75 on Sunday, July 26. With 23 IRA Sprint Cars signed in, Arenz opened the night by qualifying seventh with a time of 13.485 seconds around the historic third-mile Angell Park clay oval. After starting and finishing second in the first IRA heat race, the Sheboygan Falls, Wis. driver drew the pole position for the first IRA dash and brought it home first to claim the pole position for the 30-lap main event. From the drop of the green flag Arenz was the class of field throughout the race, pulling away from the pack on three restarts, including one open red, and skillfully slicing his way through lapped traffic on the way to his first main event win of the 2026 season, fourth IRA A-main victory, fifth triumph in the seat of a 410 Sprint Car and 75th overall career main event victory. The IRA tripleheader weekend opened at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis. on Friday, July 24. After qualifying second in the 30-car field with a lap of 12.081 seconds, Arenz placed third in the second heat race and fourth in dash 1 to claim the seventh starting spot in the 30-lap IRA headliner. The two-time Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion ran in the top five throughout the majority of the race en route to a strong fourth-place showing. On Saturday, July 25, Arenz ventured to Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis. for the prestigious $10,000-to-win Jerry Richert Memorial. With a stellar field of 41 cars on hand, Arenz qualified fifth in Flight B in 12.790 seconds before finishing second in the third heat race to gain the 12th starting slot in the 30-lap main event. He fell back to 14th in the first half of the race before rallying in the closing stages to post a solid seventh-place finish. Arenz's outstanding weekend vaulted him to the top of the IRA point standings with 10 races remaining in the 2026 season. "I'm very pleased with the results from a long and tiring weekend," Arenz said. "I wouldn't say we had any horrible nights, but there is always room for improvement. After Saturday night, I had taken over the points lead, so I knew there was no question that I needed to be smooth and consistent on Sunday at Angell Park to maintain or increase our lead. "From qualifying in the middle of the group, I was able to make the dash," he said. "I had a little luck on my side to draw the dash starting position and earn the pole position come feature time. I knew I had to be aggressive to maneuver lap traffic but also be smooth enough to keep the car under me through the ruts. Keeping the car free was the key to the win." Of Arenz's 75 main event wins, 30 have been with the Midwest Sprint Car Association/Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Cars, as well as 20 apiece in the Outlaw Compact 4-Cylinder and IMCA Northern Sport Mod/Plymouth Dirt Track Racing B Mod divisions. He also owns four IRA 410 Sprint Car feature wins, along with a $26,000 High Limit Racing 410 Sprint Car victory.   Doubleheader Weekend Brings Great Lakes Super Sprints Back to Michigan Friday and Saturday

  Merrill, MI - This weekend, the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP (GLSS) are back in the Great Lakes State for a Friday and Saturday night doubleheader. Friday night, the GLSS return to I-96 Speedway to the tune of $5,000 to win before a return to Crystal Motor Speedway for the first time in over three months. Friday at I-96, drivers will roll into Michigan's fastest Speedway with an over $20,000 purse on the line in a $ 5,000-to-win, $ 500-to-start showdown. I-96 Speedway has historically been a thrilling visit for the GLSS, and that held true in the last show there on May 29th. Chase Dunham and Dustin Daggett led the field to the green flag, and hometown favorite, Daggett held off a charge from Scott Bogucki to snap a nearly two-year winless streak. In the last visit to Crystal Motor Speedway, history was made when Zane DeVault broke the track record on the new American Racer tires. DeVault ripped off a time of 11.930 seconds before going on to have a near-perfect night, winning his heat race and rolling from third to victory lane. DeVault had some help that night as engine issues plagued both Jared Horstman and Clinton Boyles, who were at the front of the field for the first half of the race. DeVault remains the only driver to win multiple races this season with the Great Lakes Super Sprints. In 11 shows, nine different drivers have made their way to victory lane. The top two in GLSS Tour points, however, are still held winless. Chase Dunham, who took control of the championship points lead following the trip to Ohsweken and Buxton Speedways in June, has ripped off five top five finishes so far this year, including a runner-up performance at Buxton Speedway. Dunham has been lights-out in qualifying, though, grabbing five Ti22 Performance Fast Qualifier Awards, the only driver with more than one so far this season. Dunham holds a 28-point lead over four-time and defending GLSS Champion, Max Stambaugh, who holds four wins at I-96 Speedway, has been held winless as well so far this season. As for the MacAllister CAT (Michigan) Division, Dustin Daggett has his No.85 at the top of the standings, returning to the place he calls home. The Michigan championship standings is one of the best points battles with GLSS in recent memory, with the top five separated by roughly 100 points. Daggett brings in a 29-point advantage over Max Stambaugh and sits 49 points ahead of Chase Dunham. Inaugural GLSS Champion, Chase Ridenour holds down the fourth spot, hot off his win at Butler Motor Speedway in June, and a potential sleeper in the championship hunt, Boston Mead sits fifth just 110 points back from Daggett. With $5,000 on the line Friday night, the 20 or more GLSS regulars that fans are used to seeing throughout the season are likely to deal with plenty of outsiders looking to cash in on a payday.   Arenz warms up for IRA tripleheader

  (PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 22, 2026 - After a two-weekend hiatus from competition, Travis Arenz and the members of the Travis Arenz Motorsports Team hit the road on Saturday, July 18, for a $5,000-to-win unsanctioned event at Butler Motor Speedway in Quincy, Mich. The evening was not what Arenz hoped for as his 25T machine was plagued by mechanical issues, which hampered his efforts throughout the racing program. After qualifying 13th with a lap of 14.192 seconds around the 3/8-mile high-banked dirt oval, Arenz placed fourth in the first heat race to claim the 10th starting spot in the 25-lap main event. The Sheboygan Falls, Wis. driver worked his way up to sixth on lap 15 and was running seventh when a motor issue forced him to drop out of the race on lap 21. He was credited with a 17th-place showing. "We found a coolant leak during engine heat, so I missed firing off," Arenz said. "I also missed my qualifying position. I was able to go out dead last and get one lap of qualifying in. The feature was decent, but I didn't go far enough on setup. I was battling for fifth when we lost the head gasket on the engine and ended up with a DNF [did not finish]."   After a bonzi run from the far west side of Michigan to Butler Motor Speedway for the USAC National Sprint Car Series, dodging an extraordinarily brave and aggressive turkey on M60, here are my takeaways from the second non-wing appearance of the series at Butler.

  For the second year in a row Kyle Cummins was victorious with the USAC Amsoil National Sprint Car Series at Butler Motor Speedway.

  Another One for the Old Guys: Gressman on the Gas at Tri City with GLSS

  Auburn, MI - Just six days after 53-year-old Van Gurley, Jr went to Victory Lane with the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP (GLSS) at Lawrenceburg Speedway, 52-year-old Phil Gressman found his way back to the Tri City Motor Speedway winner's square on Friday night with the GLSS. Bringing the field to green alongside fellow Ohio native, Chase Dunham, Gressman was in the second spot at the exit of turn two and down the backstretch for the opening lap. However, Gressman knows how important it is to lead these races, and by the exit of turn four, Gressman was able to take the lead from Dunham and control the opening lap. Through lapped traffic, Gressman had company with Max Stambaugh working his way into the second spot as Dunham's car started to struggle. At the halfway mark, Stambaugh showed a nose and tried to make a pass into turn one for the lead. He and Gressman were side-by-side at the exit of turn two when the caution flew for a spinning Devon Dobie in turns three and four. Gressman handled the restart out front, with hard chargers moving through the field behind him, Dusting Daggett from the 10th spot picked off a couple of positions on the restart before Jared Horstman lost the top of turn one and came to a stop to draw the second caution of the night. Just two laps later, the same thing happened to Dunham, sliding over the banking in turn one to bring out another yellow inside of 10 laps to go. The final run to the checkered stayed green, and Dagget may have had the strongest car on the track. He picked off John Ivy for the third spot on the track and challenged Stambaugh for second but ran out of time to move up the final two spots for the win. Instead, it was Phil Gressman who went to Victory Lane for the first time in his career at Tri City Motor Speedway. "Why not, two for the old guys, we'll take it," Gressman said in Victory Lane. "Anytime you can get away from lapped cars, it's gotta be beneficial. I was kind of committed to running the top there, I could see the race track changing without trying to kill a bunch of speed and drop to the bottom." Max Stambaugh finished second with Dustin Daggett, who came from 10th, finishing third. Behind him, Graham Huffman, from 11th finished in fourth, with John Ivy in fifth. Alex Clute, from 20th, finished 12th advancing eight spots for the Operating Engineers 324 Hard Charger Award.   The span of 24 hours made quite the difference for Aaron Reutzel and Ridge & Sons Racing this weekend. On Friday at 9:06pm, he was upside down in turn four at Lawrenceburg Speedway. Crashed with Tanner Thorson while battling for second in the Driven2SaveLives Battle at the 'Burg, the move took him out of the championship lead.

  GLSS Kicks off Sprint Car Week in Michigan Friday at I-96 Speedway

  Lake Odessa, MI - The Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP (GLSS) are back in action this Friday night at I-96 Speedway. The first scheduled trip to West Michigan was washed away in April, leaving this post-Memorial Day show as the appetizer for a busy week of Sprint Car racing in Michigan. Coming into Friday night's show, just three races have been completed toward the run for a GLSS championship in 2026. Seven scheduled shows have been lost to Mother Nature or adverse track conditions as a result of Mother Nature. Because of this, Zane DeVault remains the current Championship Points leader heading into the weekend. DeVault is two-for-three so far this season with GLSS, grabbing wins in the season opener at Crystal Motor Speedway on April 25th and again at Shadyhill Speedway on May 16th. DeVault holds a 74-point lead over four-time and defending GLSS Champion, Max Stambaugh on the Tour, and a 12-point lead over 2018 Tour Champion, Dustin Daggett in the North Division standings. I-96 Speedway has always been a roll of the dice on who will end up in GLSS Victory Lane. Since the first race on July 31, 2016, a total of 18 different drivers have won at I-96. Since winning the debut in 2016, inaugural GLSS Champion Chase Ridenour has been held out of the limelight in Lake Odessa. Jared Horstman (11), Dustin Daggett (8), Phil Gressman (4), and Max Stambaugh (4) sit atop the wins column ranks. Horstman was on another level at I-96 in 2025, winning three of five scheduled shows, finishing second and fifth in the shows he didn't win. GLSS and I-96 Speedway kick off a stretch of racing in Michigan that features five different sanctioning bodies at six different tracks in seven days.
