- Snyder and Schroeder Claim Dirt2Media Deuces Wild Riches!
Bryan Hulbert - LOGANSPORT, Ind. (September 30, 2023) The richest Micro race in the world wrapped up Saturday at Indiana's U.S. 24 Speedway with twin $12,222.22 paydays handed out in Victory Fuel Victory Lane to Maryland's Steven Snyder, Jr. and Montana's Cole Schroeder during Hyper Racing Championship Night with the Dirt2Media National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division. Both able to lead all 40 laps on Saturday night, Snyder was perfect in A-Feature competition on the weekend, with 70 laps led overall. Moving quickly to the top of the track, Snyder only stepped off the cushion to overtake a lapped car. Slowed once during the feature event, Snyder would end up winning by 5.149-seconds over Kale Drake. Winning a decisive battle for the final podium step was Greyson Springer. Fourth went to Russ Gamester, with Chris Andrews in fifth. Trekking the hub until he found traffic in A-Class, Cole Schroeder was in a class of his own. Getting the jump to the lead from the start, Cole would end up lapping ten cars during the event. Rushing the cushion much as he did during his preliminary night, the gap at the end was 4.937-seconds over Frank Flud. Pennsylvania's Alec Quiggle grabbed third with Jett Hays fourth. Russ Disinger crossed fifth. Three late check-ins brought the weekend total to 225 entries, with drivers from 21 states on hand. The next event for the Dirt2Media National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division is the KKM Giveback Classic at Port City Raceway in Tulsa, Okla. on Friday, October 19, and Saturday, October 20. The 2023 season marks the 11th year of competition for the National Open Wheel 600 Series. Anchored by the Dirt2Media NOW600 National Championship, the NOW600 Series comprises several regional tours and sanctioned racetracks. The NOW600 National Championship features three divisions of 600cc micro sprints at each event: Stock Non-Wing, Winged A-Class, and Restricted 'A' Class. - Gile, Weldon, and Lagroon Add Their Names To Dirt2Media NOW600 List Of Winners
Bryan Hulbert - FAIRBURY, Neb. (August 19, 2023) Three drivers added their names to the list of winners with the Dirt2Media National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division Saturday night at Jefferson County Speedway, as Elijah Gile, Gaige Weldon, and Cale Lagroon went to Victory Lane. Jumping to the lead from the start in A-Class, Elijah Gile held point until traffic at the race's mid-point. Chased by Friday night's winner, Jett Hays, the No. 11j shot to the lead on Lap 17. Looking to be on his way to a weekend sweep, mechanical issues struck on Lap 22, sidelining Hays and advancing Gile back to the top spot. Brant Woods, from tenth, ended up second, with Gaige Weldon third from ninth. Dominic White advanced seven spots to fourth, with Kaden Weger in fifth. Chasing Jett Hays the opening 22 laps, traffic bit the No. 11j hard. Racing to the top on the first turn, Hays nearly went end over end off the right rear of Tyler Hendrickson. Able to somehow avoid catastrophe, it was just enough to cost him the lead and allow Gaige Weldon his first career NOW600 victory. Elijah Gile crossed third, with Rider McCutcheon fourth. Up eight spots, Jackson Kounkel was steady around the hub to grab fifth. Leading laps, but never the last one, that changed for Cale Lagroon as the No. 24c led start-to-finish in the Restricted feature. Rolling up from fifth, Friday night's winner, Hank Soares, made it to second, with Ollie Geiger up six spots to third. Braxton Weger crossed fourth, with Cash Lacombe in fifth. Saturday's F-Town Tooleys Showdown at Jefferson County Speedway brought 111 entries, including the Mod Lites and Sportsman divisions. The 2023 season marks the 11th year of competition for the National Open Wheel 600 Series. Anchored by the Dirt2Media NOW600 National Championship, the NOW600 Series comprises several regional tours and sanctioned racetracks. - Jett Hays Sweeps Stock Divisions While Hank Soares Tops Restricted At Jefferson County
Bryan Hulbert - FAIRBURY, Neb. (August 18, 2023) Topping time, heats, and the A-Features in Non-Wing and A-Class, Jett Hays was unstoppable Friday night with the Dirt2Media National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division at Jefferson County Speedway. Battling through traffic in both feature events, Hays had his hands full with Keegan Osantowski, the challenger in non-wing, followed by Elijah Gile throwing bombs on a late-race restart in A-Class. Osantowski held on for second in Non-Wing, with Ryder McCutcheon third. Jesse Pate and Jason Friesen made up the top five. In A-Class, the runner-up spot was held by Gile, followed by Brant Woods in third. Jadyn Friesen and Gaige Weldon completed the top five. While Hays added to his win totals, Restricted found a first-time winner with Hank Soares. Racing to the top of the track and never letting out of the throttle in pursuit of the lead, Soares made a hair-raising pass for the lead on Lap 17 on Kyle Hooper. Winning by 1.955-seconds, Hooper held off Ollie Geiger for second. Chase McDougal crossed fourth, with Cale Lagroon fifth. The opening night of the F-Town Tooleys Showdown at Jefferson County Speedway brought 113 entries, including the Mod Lites and Sportsman divisions. - Jett Hays, Joey Starnes, And Braxton Weger Collect Dirt2Media NOW600 Wins At KAM Raceway
Bryan Hulbert - HASTINGS, Neb. (July 29, 2023) Wrapping up Night 2 of action at KAM Raceway, Jett Hays added another first to his Dirt2Media NOW600 presented by Hi-Plains Building Division record, while Joey Starnes and Braxton Weger padded their victory numbers. Winning for the second time this year in A-Class on Friday, Jett Hays grabbed his first Non-Wing win Saturday, following a tooth-and-nail battle with Jason McDougal. Spending nearly five laps through the race's midpoint separated by less than a tenth of a second, the pair traded the lead off every turn, with the point trading hands nearly a dozen times. Officially leading three laps on the No. 11J, McDougal committed to the cushion while Hays paced the bottom. Finally banking off the ever-deepening fluff with six laps to go, that allowed Jett to begin building his lead and giving Trey Zorn his shot to take over second a few laps later. Both working the inside line, Hays was able to fend off the No. 3z by 0.382-seconds. Getting the pass off the final turn, Ava Gropp crossed third, with McDougal slipping to fourth. Ryder McCutcheon made up the top five. Getting the lead on the opening lap, Braxton Weger was glued to the gutter. Taking the No. 31bw a little too low on Lap 5, the bobble allowed Cale Lagroon to shoot past for the lead the following lap. Missing the line into the first and second turns on Lap 7, Weger pounced and reclaimed the point. Putting distance from there, Braxton collected his third Restricted feature win. Cale Lagroon crossed second, followed by Hank Soares, Maston Nester, and Chase McDougal to complete the top five. A quick move on the start to lead the way in A-Class, Joey Starnes was untouchable through 25 laps. Finally getting slowed up in traffic over the final five laps, seventh-starting Jayden Friesen peeled over two seconds off Joey's advantage but would not be able to overtake the One Way Performance No. 11x. Jason Friesen crossed third, with Jason McDougal advancing 12 positions to fourth. Dominic White crossed fifth. The Dirt2Media NOW600 presented by Hi-Plains Building Division is back in Nebraska on Friday, August 18, and Saturday, August 19, at Jefferson County Raceway in Fairbury, Neb. - Opening Night Of Dirt2Media NOW600 At KAM Raceway Goes To Hays, McDougal, and Geiger
Bryan Hulbert - HASTINGS, Neb. (July 28, 2023) Racing all over KAM Raceway Friday night, the Dirt2Media National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division, preliminary A-Feature wins went to Jett Hays in A-Class, Jason McDougal in Non-Wing, and Ollie Geiger in Restricted. The second time in his career that Hays has topped A-Class, the No. 11j shot fourth to second at the start. Chasing Jackson Kounkel, the opening six revolutions, Hays and Kounkel went slide for slide through the seventh lap with the Fort Worth, Texas shoe taking over. Building a sizable advantage through traffic, caution on Lap 6 gave Jadyn Friesen a shot at the point, but nothing was going to keep Jett Hays from victory lane. Friesen, from sixth, crossed second, with Brant Woods moving ninth to third. Joey Starnes and Dominic White completed the top five. Last going to Dirt2Media NOW600 Victory Lane on October 20, 2017, at Caney Valley Speedway, Jason McDougal ended the drought by leading from start to finish for his second career win wingless triumph. Surviving numerous restarts during the mid-point of the feature event, the No. 91 crossed with 1.787-seconds to spare over Joey Starnes. Third went to Colton Mcwhirter, with Kormick Linner fourth. Starting 20th, New Mexico's Ryder McCutcheon drove through the field to fifth. The 63rd driver to add their name to the list of winners in Restricted, Nebraska's Ollie Geiger held off the ferocious charge of Cale Lagroon for his first Dirt2Media NOW600 victory. Challenged on nearly every restart by the No. 24c, the top side came close for Cale, but not quite enough as Geiger crossed with a 0.904-second advantage. Braxton Weger was third, followed by Sawyer Kiner and Carson Bolden to complete the top five. The Dirt2Media National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division is back at KAM Raceway for Round 2 on Saturday, July 29. Racing gets underway at 7:30 P.M. (CDT). Grandstands are $15, with Pit Passes $30 per class entered. KAM Raceway is located at 4880 East J St. in Hastings, Neb. - Hunter Kohn And Tate Gurney Top Dirt2Media NOW600 For the First Time At Mitchell County Fairgrounds Raceway
Bryan Hulbert - BELOIT, Kan. (July 12, 2023) Adding their names to the list of winners with the Dirt2Media National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division, Hunter Kohn and Tate Gurney mastered the Mitchell County Fairgrounds Raceway Wednesday night during the Chad McDaniel Memorial. A nearly relentless battle for the top spot that saw Cale Coons throwing slide jobs at every turn, the Indiana racer pulled ahead of the No. 48 a few times but was never able to officially lead a lap. From as little as 0.046-seconds on Lap 9, to as much as 0.658-seconds on Lap 16, the pair traded around the top spot numerous times, with Kohn winning the drag race off the final turn by 0.139-seonds. Cale Coons, in second, was followed by Trey Zorn, who battled into second at one point before getting shuffled back to a bronze finish. Bobby Eubanks and Jacob Latta made up the top five. Likewise, for the Restricted feature, the question of who would win was up in the air nearly every time Tate Gurney and Braxton Weger rolled by the flag stand. Side by side through the mid-point of the 20-lap feature, Weger led from the start, with Gurney able to sneak into the lead on Lap 10, but would have to regroup as Braxton shot back to the point a lap later. Trading lines and adjusting tactics, the pair finally swapped for good on Lap 14. Able to finally start putting distance on the field, Gurney would ultimately take the KKM No. 71 to a 2.647-second lead at the finish. Braxton Weger crossed second, followed by Kyle Hooper, Kasen Zorn, and Gavyn Bolt to complete the top five. Running alongside the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship, the theme for the night was the same with them as Bryant Wiedeman wheeled to his first career victory. The next event for the Dirt2Media National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division is Friday, July 28, and Saturday, July 29, at KAM Raceway in Hastings, Neb. - ALLGAYER ADDS ANOTHER WHILE MOORE AND ESGAR LAND FIRST NOW600 WINS AT DODGE CITY RACEWAY PARK
Bryan Hulbert - DODGE CITY, Kan. (July 7, 2023) Adding two more names to the list of winners with the Dirt2Media National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division on Friday night, the superstars of small cars took on the eighth-mile-oval inside the Dodge City Raceway Park with Jude Allgayer back in Victory Lane for the second time this week, while Cole Esgar and Ace Moore each landed their first wins. Outlasting the onslaught of challenges from Brant Woods in traffic for this first NOW600 A-Class victory, Colorado's Cole Esgar led all by the opening lap Friday night. Getting by the No. 83 on the second lap, the final two laps were a green, white, checkered dash to the finish, with Woods missing the win by 0.192-seconds; however, the Chickasha racer failed to appear at the scales post-race, forcing a disqualification, and advancing Ryder McCutcheon to second. Chance Cody crossed third, with Kaden Weger and Carson Bolden making up the top five. Met with roaring approval, Dodge City's Ace Moore topped a back-and-forth battling with Weldon Buford for his first NOW600 Non-Wing feature win. Able to work back into the lead after the pair traded the point on lap six, seven, and eight, the No. 49a pulled away by 0.893-seconds at the finish. Buford held onto silver while tenth-starting Ryder McCutcheon posted his second podium of the night in third. Skyler Burns and Jaden Holder completed the top five. Getting to the lead first thing, it was Jude Allgayer posting his second NOW600 Restricted win. Stalked through most of the race by Ty Fulghum, the No. 73 unfortunately retired on Lap 23. Moving Carson Bolden to second, the No. B2 couldn't mount the charge on Allgayer. Braxton Weger was third, with Cash Lacombe fourth and Callan Hill in fifth. The Steve King Memorial continues Saturday, July 8. Gates open at 5:00 P.M. with racing at 7:30 P.M. (CDT). Tickets are $20, and free for kids 12 and under. Pits are $35. Dodge City Raceway Park is located at 11322 110 Rd. in Dodge City, Kan. For more information on the track, log onto https://www.racedcrp.com or call (620) 225-3277. - Zorn, Woods, And Weger Add To Win Totals During Dirt2Media NOW600 Debut At Rush County
Bryan Hulbert - LA CROSSE, Kan. (July 6, 2023) Adding to their win totals with the Dirt2Media National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division, Brant Woods and Trey Zorn each captured their second win in as many races in A-Class and Non-Wing, while Braxton Weger captured his second win of the 2023 season in Restricted. The race of the night, Trey Zorn brought the home-state fans to their feet with a last-lap pass for the win over North Carolina's Hunter Kohn. Leading from the start, Kohn protected the bottom as Zorn stalked the No. 48 through the final laps. Diamonding down, hoping to catch Kohn slipping off the hub, Zorn was finally forced to let it eat on the top as the pair raced into the final two turns. Pulling alongside for the win off the final turn, Trey Zorn snagged the win by 0.006-seconds to record the closest finish in NOW600 National competition. Kohn was joined on the podium by Weldon Buford. Fourth was Chance Cody, and fifth was Ryder McCutcheon. Running off and hiding for his second A-Class win of the week, Brant Woods led start to finish in the Jim's Diesel and Auto No. 83. Pulling to over three seconds over the race for second, it was Trey vs. Kasen Zorn for the spot with Trey Zorn, from fifth, taking over on Lap 13. Trailing by lead by as much as three seconds, Zorn cut it down over the last five laps to 0.761-seconds, but there was no denying Woods the win. Cale Lagroon snagged third on the closing lap. Dropping Kasen Zorn to fourth, the top five rounded out with Carson Bolden. Braxton Weger's second career Dirt2Media NOW600 Restricted victory, the Calera, Okla. driver led flag-to-flag. Dawson Woods crossed second, with Carson Bolden third. Cash Lacombe, from tenth, made it to fourth, with Cale Lagroon fifth. - Colby Sokol and Jude Allgayer Enjoy Victory During First Round Of Monday Dirt2Media NOW600 Features At Airport Raceway!
Bryan Hulbert - GARDEN CITY, Kan. (July 3, 2023) Moving Sunday features to Monday, the afternoon make-up features with the Dirt2Media National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division at Airport Raceway saw Colby Sokol double in A-Class and Non-Wing, while Jude Allgayer captured the Restricted A-Feature. Turning in a dominating performance in Stock Non-Wing for his second career Dirt2Media NOW600 presented by Hi-Plains Building Division victory, Colorado's Colby Sokol lapped to eighth during Monday's make-up feature. Winning by 6.206-seconds, Sokol took over the point on Lap 11 from Amarillo's Brayden Kongdara, who slipped to third on the final lap as Jadyn Friesen slipped by for the spot. Kelbie Volkman was fourth, with Trey Zorn coming from 10th to fifth. Doubling up on his wins and finally adding his name to the list of A-Class winners, Colby Sokol led from start to finish. Taking the white twice after a crash on the original final lap, the restart put 11th-starting Jadyn Friesen on the back bumper of the No. 24s, but Colby was able to pull away by 0.686-seconds through the green, white, checkered finish. Friesen in second was followed by Ace Moore. Looking at third on the restart, Trey Zorn would settle for fourth, with Cole Esgar in fifth. Finally adding his name to the list of winners in Restricted, Jude Allgayer took over the top spot from sixth on Lap 23 and held off Carson Bolden, who led Lap 5-21 for the win. In the middle of the battle for the lead from the start, Braxton Weger fought his way to the point on Lap 22, but contact with an infield tire rendered steering useless and sent the No. 31bx into the wall. Resulting in a restart with three to go, Allgayer made careful laps around the bottom to hold on for the win over Carson. Third went to Zayden Vasquez from eighth, with Shyla Ernst in fourth. Clawing from 21st, Cash Lacombe completed the top five. With Sunday's run of events now made up, attention turns to Monday's program at Airport Raceway. A field of 107 entries checked in Sunday, with 98 returning on Monday. The 2023 season marks the 11th year of competition for the National Open Wheel 600 Series. - Mother Nature Moves Sunday Features To Monday At Airport Raceway
Bryan Hulbert - GARDEN CITY, Kan. (July 2, 2023) While the forecast showed a nearly zero percent chance of precipitation at Airport Raceway on Sunday, Mother Nature had other plans as a severe storm swooped in during B-Features and washed out the evening. The remainder of Sunday's program will be run on Monday before Monday's scheduled event takes place. However, teams will qualify for Monday's program before the makeup events, so the track is fresh. Cars will be on track at 5:00 P.M. (CDT) for Hot Laps. Once lineups for Monday's Heats are set, Sunday's run of races will resume. Times For Monday, July 3, 2023 All Gates: 3:00 P.M.
