Perris Auto Speedway Dirt Track News
- Turkey Night Grand Prix Next for Brent and Grant Sexton
Lakeside, CA — November 5, 2025 — Southern California sprint car veterans Brent and Grant Sexton will return to action on Thanksgiving weekend for one of the sport's crown jewels—the Turkey Night Grand Prix at Jim Naylor's Ventura Raceway. The historic holiday classic will mark the father-and-son duo's first sprint car outing since tackling the Western World Championships at Central Arizona Raceway in late October. The debut trip to the Arizona oval for Sexton Gatlin Racing was anything but easy. Grant battled a stubborn fuel system that refused to cooperate, leaving patriarch Brent to carry the team's banner. A three-time California Lightning Sprint Car Series champion, Brent's night was cut short in his heat race by a faulty mag box on Friday, sidelining the bright #44 early. Returning Saturday, determined to turn things around, Brent's luck refused to change. A broken rear brake mount in his qualifier left him with only front brakes for the C-Main, but the veteran's steady hands kept him out of trouble long enough to transfer into the B-Main. Unfortunately, a sheared U-joint ended the night and the team's Arizona adventure prematurely. While the weekend proved frustrating for the Sextons, Sexton Gatlin Racing's rising rookie, Braydin Collie, gave the team something to smile about at the Ventura Raceway. The talented teen turned in the eighth-fastest qualifying time, won his heat race, and finished seventh in the 25-lap main event. Heading into the California Lightning Sprint Car Series finale at Bakersfield on November 25th, the El Cajon racer sits sixth in Motor City Buick/GMC championship points—just one point out of fifth—and second in Rookie of the Year standings. Though it is unlikely without a lot of good fortune, Collie remains mathematically alive in the Rookie of the Year chase. Before that finale in Bakersfield, he'll trade dirt for desert when he competes in Mexico's legendary Baja 1000 in a trophy truck next week. For more updates, follow Sexton Gatlin Racing on social media and stay tuned for results throughout the 2025 season. Sexton Gatlin Racing would like to thank the following companies for making the 2024 season possible. East County Electric Works, Keys Brothers, Geoff Dale, BR Motorsports, Maxima Oil, Automated Interiors, Valley Lubricant Services, Sexton Fire Protection, BK Wings, and Troy Dirt. - Brody Roa Gears Up for His 2025 Season Finale This Saturday at Perris Auto Speedway!
Cypress, CA - November 5, 2025 — One of Southern California's most popular open-wheel racers, Brody Roa, will wrap up his impressive 2025 campaign this Saturday night, November 8th, when Heimark Distributors Anheuser Busch presents the Avanti Windows and Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Cars at Perris Auto Speedway. The lightning-fast half-mile clay oval will open its spectator gates at 5:00 p.m., with racing starting earlier than usual at 6:30. Nineteen other cars were on hand for the most recent high-intensity 410 sprint car battle at the track, located just over an hour east of Los Angeles. Roa, 34, qualified fifth-fastest for the second consecutive race, clocking a 16.687-second lap—his quickest qualifying effort in nine Perris appearances this season. Starting on the outside of row two in a stacked 10-car, 10-lap heat race, the friendly Garden Grove, California, racer steered his bright green #91R to a strong second-place finish, earning a spot among the first three rows for the 30-lap main event. When the field lined up for the finale, Roa—winner of the previous race at the track two weeks earlier—started on the inside of the front row. He held third for most of the race before crossing the line fifth at the finish. For the 2023 USAC/CRA Series Champion, it marked his 10th top-10 finish in 13 starts this year. In his last six outings, Roa hasn't finished worse than eighth, tallying four top-fives highlighted by his October 18th victory at Perris. Roa is currently exploring the possibility of a return to January's Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the first time since 2022. Stay tuned for updates. Fans can relive the Perris triumph courtesy of FourVideos on YouTube at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qzlw0C-rYbk&t=1515s You can listen to an interview Roa did when he joined Dave Stall's Racer Radio Show for an interview the day after the win: http://www.perrisautospeedway.com/radio25/RACERRADIO251026.mp3 (Roa's segment begins around the 25-minute mark). Gates open at 5:00 p.m., and racing kicks off 30 minutes earlier than usual at 6:30 p.m. Saturday's show will mark the final 2025 appearance for both USAC/CRA and PASSCAR competitors. While Laveen, Arizona's RJ Johnson has clinched his second straight USAC/CRA championship, and Riverside's Shaun Estes has secured his first Street Stock crown since 2012, two titles are still on the line. David Stites enters the night with a slim 15-point lead over James Keller of Oak Hills in the Factory Stock Championship, while in the Super Stocks, 2023 champ Ricky Lee of Banning holds a razor-thin two-point edge over four-time PAS titleholder Chuck Becker of Yucaipa. "It is going to be a great night," promoter Don Kazarian said. "The USAC/CRA finale, with no two-time series champion RJ Johnson, will be complemented by USAC National drivers Mitchell Moles, who won last week, his teammate Hayden Reinbold, and Jake Swanson. It should be a great race once again. Last Saturday, the fight for the lead was fantastic between Moles and Austin Williams. Also, a full program with all three of our stock car classes and a showdown for the super stock title between Chuck Becker and Rickie Lee." "We are also looking forward to the 'Speed and Style' with the Cars N Coffee Riverside Car Show," Kazarian continued. "The response to the car show has been great, and we expect to see some beautiful cars on Saturday. The car show starts when the gates open, and it is included with the price of a race ticket." - After Qualifying for Both Western World Championship Main Events, Eddie Tafoya Jr. Returns to Perris This Saturday
Chino Hills, CA — October 30, 2025 — Eddie Tafoya Jr. took on the best traditional sprint car drivers in the world last weekend when he battled the Amsoil USAC National Sprint Cars and the Avanti Windows and Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Cars in the prestigious Western World Championships at Central Arizona Raceway. Tafoya was one of only three USAC/CRA drivers to qualify directly into both main events without needing to run a C main, B main, or take a provisional spot. A strong field of 46 cars turned out for two nights of intense 410 sprint car action. Tafoya, who raced at the same track south of Phoenix in Casa Grande earlier this year with USAC/CRA, timed in 25th fastest on night one. That put him in the loaded fifth and final heat race, where only the top four transferred directly to the main. The 2019 USAC/CRA Rookie of the Year rose to the occasion, finishing fourth and locking himself straight into the 30-lap feature, avoiding the chaos of the lower mains. In the main event, the Chino Hills, California racer started 22nd and came home 23rd. On night two, Tafoya, 28, found himself in the second qualifier—an eight-lap, 13-car showdown where only the top five would advance directly to the A main. For the second straight night, he answered the challenge, finishing fourth and once again skipping the preliminary races. "It was definitely a weight off my shoulders, and it was a lot less work going straight into the mains from the heat races," the veteran racer said. "It was good to skip the B and the C at this race. We had a really good baseline setup. It's a great track that kind of suits my style. It's kind of wide open. You've just got to hit your marks and stay in the good dirt." The finale featured one of the toughest fields of 2025. Starting on the inside of row eight (15th), Tafoya advanced two positions to finish a solid 13th against the national stars. "Racing with them makes me a better driver," Tafoya added about competing against the national series racers. "Racing against those guys is the benchmark and the speed we try to be all the time. It just seems like whenever they come out here, we try to step it up—definitely find some speed and eliminate our mistakes. It helps me be a better driver." This Saturday, the second-generation driver looks to carry his Arizona momentum into Perris Auto Speedway. - Roa Returns to Perris After First Win of the Season
Cypress, CA - October 29, 2025 — This Saturday night, star USAC/CRA Sprint Car driver Brody Roa returns to Perris Auto Speedway riding high after scoring his first victory of the year! The action-packed show presented by Heimark Distributors Anheuser/Busch will see spectator gates open at 5:00 p.m., with racing starting 30 minutes earlier than usual at 6:30. The 34-year-old Garden Grove, California, racing veteran notched his long-awaited first win of 2025 two weeks ago, outdistancing the field on the legendary Southern California half-mile clay oval. The triumph marked his 22nd career USAC/CRA victory, placing him fourth all-time since the series' inception in 2004 — and the winningest active driver in the division today. Saturday's event will be Roa's 13th start of the season, with eight of the previous 12 coming at Perris. Impressively, he's finished outside the top eight only once — a 17th-place result after being sidelined in a crash. His Perris résumé includes four top-five finishes, highlighted by a third on September 27th and that thrilling win on October 18th. His average main-event finish at the track is a strong 6.5, and an even better 5.0 if you remove the DNF. "First off, I have to thank my dad and Uncle B," an emotional Roa told fans after his long-awaited victory. "I have felt like a turd all day. Every time I came off the track, I went into the trailer and went to sleep. Ricky (leader Ricky Lewis, who was taken out by a crash) had us covered, but you have to be there at the end — and we did it. It's pretty cool just to be up there with those guys and pick one off." After this Saturday's show, Roa and his brilliant green #91R team will be back in action one week later when USAC/CRA wraps up its 2025 season at Perris on November 8th. Saturday's tickets are $35.00 for fans age 13 and up. For seniors 65 and over, it is $30.00. Kids 6 - 12 get in for $10.00, and children 5 and under are free. Parking on the fairgrounds is $20.00 (parking payment is by card only). Advance tickets are available at tix.com, and walk-up tickets will be available at the gate. Perris Auto Speedway is located on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds, 18700 Lake Perris Drive, Perris, California. The track website is www.perrisautospeedway.com and the office phone number is (951) 940-0134. On-site camping is available for $25 per night beginning at noon on Fridays. Roa would like to thank his 2025 sponsors, "Biker" Bruce Fischer, Burris Racing, ALR Virtual Services, Caltrol, Molecule, and Wilwood Disc Brakes. If you would like to be a marketing partner with the team in 2025, contact Roa using the information at the top of this release. - All Three Classes of PASSCAR Joining USAC/CRA Sprint Cars at Perris
Perris, California — October 29, 2025 — This Saturday night, November 1st, all three classes of PASSCAR will join the Avanti Windows & Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Cars in a show at Perris Auto Speedway presented by Heimark Distributors Anheuser/Busch. As usual, spectator gates will open at 5:00 p.m., but racing will begin an hour earlier than normal—at 6:30. Of the three PASSCAR divisions—Super Stocks, Street Stocks, and Factory Stocks—the Super Stocks are shaping up to provide the most intrigue this Saturday. Coming into the race two weeks ago, Yucaipa's Chuck Becker, a proud owner of four PAS track championships, held a slim three-point advantage over 2023 class champion Ricky Lee of Banning. In the main, Becker started on the outside of the front row while Lee lined up inside row two. It was clear early on that Tony Kinkade Jr. of Pahrump, Nevada, was the fastest car in the race, but Becker and Lee were locked in a fierce battle for second. Late in the event, Becker entered turn one and Lee clattered into him with a mighty blow. Quickly recovering, an irate Becker saw Lee ahead of him and retaliated, clipping him in the left rear on the back chute. A yellow flag waved, and Lee limped back to the pits. A yellow came out after the incident, and Lee was done for the night while Becker continued in second and held that position to the checkers. "I was actually committed to running the bottom of the track, and he had been working the top," Becker remembered. "We got to switching it up, going back and forth, and having a great time. Then he went to the inside and hit me hard on the left side of the car. I was not sure what it was about. I got back on the throttle pretty hard, and I saw him break loose, and I never lifted." The last thing the still-hot Becker wanted to see in his pit after the race was Lee. However, that is just what happened. Lee walked down there to have a chat with Becker. "I was still wound up," Becker said. "He came down to my pit, and I was not real nice at the beginning of the conversation. He was immediately apologizing. He told me his air cleaner blew off (it ended up lying on the track) and he momentarily lost concentration. How am I going to stay mad at that? I really do like Ricky Lee. He is a good guy, and the whole crew he has are wonderful people. I actually hang out with them on occasion when we can." Becker's initial reaction is something that has a lot to do with the driver he is. He is a clean racer who tries to role the car into the trailer after every race. That is especially important this week as the Super Stocks will be racing on back to back weekends for the only time in 2025. "Of course, I want to win the races," said the 61-year-old, who began racing in 1979 at Ascot. "That is first and foremost. But, I do not want to do so at the expense of the car and we only have one week between the final two races. I have to go a little bit on the side of caution on this one." Becker enters this Saturday's event with a slender five-point lead over Lee. Rick Arringdale of Victorville, Steven Welch of Cherry Valley, and Kinkade sit third through fifth in the Super Stock standings. Becker was quick to thank those who make his racing possible. "Bergerson's Heating and Air, and Toyota of Redlands are huge for me. Also, Huss Trucking, Stock All Services, Carpet Station, Ed Moore Driveline, PRE 2.0, Innovative RV, Unlimited Landscape, Billy Wormsbecker's Rebel Signs. A huge one to me is BRT Racing Engines. He actually came to my house. That is Randy Thornell, and he does amazing things for me." Becker also wanted to thank Charles Roe, Rick Becker, Kendall Scheidecker, and Dean Huss, who all offered engines to him before the last race when it looked as though mechanical ills may have prevented him from racing. Also, Tyler Gitmed, who offered his entire car turn key and ready to go. Heading into Saturday, in the Street Stocks, Riverside's Shaun Estes came into the last race undefeated in both heats and mains for 2025. He won his heat and led much of the main before Billy Griffin of Buena Park tracked him down and took the 20-lap victory. Despite the loss, Estes—the 2012 class champion—still holds a 20-point lead over George Leventis of Palos Verdes, with Chad Mahony, Hemet's Tim "Shaggy" Shadduck, and Stefan Davies of Murrieta rounding out the top five. Finally, in the Factory Stocks, David Stites, the two-time champion from Canyon Lake has won all five main events this season. He'll look to keep his streak alive this Saturday and complete a perfect season on November 8th. His advantage over James Keller of Oak Hills sits at 12 points. Cameron Broe of Ramona, Kris Carnish of Menifee, and Lanny Savage of Colton complete the top five. Saturday's tickets are $35.00 for fans age 13 and up. For seniors 65 and over, it is $30.00. Kids 6 - 12 get in for $10.00, and children 5 and under are free. Parking on the fairgrounds is $20 (parking payment is by card only). - Sexton Gatlin Racing Hits the Road in Arizona and California This Week
Lakeside, CA — October 23, 2025 — It's a busy weekend ahead for the Lakeside, California-based Sexton Gatlin Racing team as they split up for action in two states. On Friday and Saturday, October 24th and 25th, veteran driver Brent Sexton and his 21-year-old son Grant will take on some of the nation's best in the prestigious Western World Championship at Central Arizona Speedway. At the same time, rising star Braydin Collie will represent the team Saturday night with the California Lightning Sprint Car Series at Ventura Raceway. Now eight months into a long and competitive 2025 campaign, Sexton Gatlin Racing's drivers have combined for 57 starts across 20 different racetracks in five states. The closest to home came at San Diego County's Barona Speedway, just minutes from their Lakeside shop. The farthest? Minnesota's Buffalo River Speedway, a whopping 2,000 miles from home base. For Brent, his best finish of the season came on September 20th when he grabbed a podium — third place — in the Ultimate Sprint Car Series main event at Ventura Raceway. Grant's standout run of the year, a fifth, came at Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minnesota, during the Minkota Lightning Nationals. Collie, the El Cajon teenager in his first full season, has also made his mark, earning a pair of third-place finishes — one at Bakersfield Speedway on June 7th and another at Minnesota's Buffalo River Speedway two months later. A three-time lightning sprint car series champion, Brent and his son Grant — the 2023 USAC/CRA Rookie of the Year — opted for a "freelance" schedule in 2025, choosing to race where and when they want rather than chase points. This weekend marks their first-ever appearance at Central Arizona Speedway in Casa Grande, 50 miles south of Phoenix — and they couldn't have picked a tougher debut. The Western World attracts the top talent from both the USAC National and CRA Sprint Car Series, promising fierce competition from green to checkered. Meanwhile, Collie has turned heads in his rookie campaign with the California Lightning Sprint Car Series. Entering the weekend, he sits fifth in points, just 30 markers out of fourth, and second in the Rookie of the Year chase. With only two races left — Ventura this Saturday and the Bakersfield finale on November 25th — he's looking to finish his first full season on a high note. Fans wanting to catch Brent and Grant in Arizona can head to Central Arizona Speedway, where gates open at 3:00 p.m. and racing fires off at 6:00 p.m. both nights. Reserved seats are $50, and general admission is $40. Advance tickets are available at myracepass.com/events/549978. The track is located at 512 S. 11 Mile Corner Road, Casa Grande. For more information, visit the Central Arizona Raceway website or call (520) 754-0407. For those heading to Ventura Raceway to watch Collie, spectator gates open at 3:00 p.m., with racing beginning at 5:30 p.m. Adult tickets are $22, seniors (60+), military (with ID), and students (with ID) are $18, and kids 12 and under are free with a paid adult. Ventura Raceway is located at 10 W. Harbor Blvd., on the Ventura County Fairgrounds. Visit www.venturaraceway.com or call (805) 648-RACE for details. For fans unable to attend, both events will be streamed live on FloRacing. - Perris Auto Speedway Hosts Its Annual Halloween Event at Saturday's Night of Destruction
Perris, California — October 20, 2025 — One of Perris Auto Speedway's most anticipated nights of the year returns this Saturday, October 25th, when LKQ Pick Your Part presents the "Craziest Show On Dirt," Night of Destruction. In addition to the trademark racing and high-impact crashes, fans can enjoy the annual Halloween trick-or-treating session on the track with the drivers and cars at intermission, along with costume contests for kids. Spectator gates open at 5:00 p.m., with racing set to begin at 7:00. The Halloween tradition started several years ago from a spur-of-the-moment idea. "Two days before the show, sometime before COVID, Shelly Wooldridge suggested that kids in costume collect candy from the drivers at intermission," promoter Don Kazarian recalled. "I didn't expect much as we did not have a lot of time to get the word out, but the drivers responded, and to our surprise, more than 200 kids showed up in costume. It was incredible considering we only had 48 hours to prepare." The following year, the event returned by popular demand — and attendance more than doubled. Since then, it has grown into a staple of the Night of Destruction series. "It's one of the most enjoyable nights we have all year," Kazarian said. "The show has everything — great racing, wild crashes, and fun for all ages. The name Night of Destruction says it all. At intermission, the drivers and crews love handing out candy as much as the kids love collecting it. Plus, it's a safe, exciting way for kids to trick-or-treat." Saturday's event will feature several fan-favorite divisions, including the chaotic Figure 8s, the unpredictable Figure 8 Trailer Race, Mighty Mini Stocks on the twisting road course, no holds barred Demo Cross, and the always-entertaining Double Deckers. "It's truly a great family night," Kazarian added. "You get exciting racing, wild crashes, candy, and costumes — everything that makes Halloween at the track special." Tickets are $25.00 for ages 13 and up, $10.00 for kids (6-12), and free for children 5 and under. Parking on the fairgrounds is $20 (payment byu card only for parking). Advance tickets are available at tix.com, and walk-up tickets will be available at the gate. - After Two Straight Lightning Podiums, Busy Open-Wheel Racer Jeff Dyer Returns to USAC/CRA Action Saturday
Yucca Valley, CA — October 15, 2025 — Never let anyone say Jeff Dyer isn't dedicated to open-wheel racing. The California Highway Patrol Officer is always eager to climb into one of his race cars, and over the past two weekends, his commitment has paid off with back-to-back podium finishes in his lightning sprint. This Saturday, he'll strap into his powerful USAC/CRA 410 sprint car for a return to the famed Perris Auto Speedway. Two weeks ago, Dyer, who lives in Yucca Valley, California and his teenage teammate, Drake Cardey of Riverside, took on the California Lightning Sprint Car Series at Ventura Raceway — the 1/5-mile clay oval just a nine-iron shot from the waves of the Pacific Ocean. Cardey, who currently sits second in CLS points and leads the Rookie of the Year chase, scorched the track with a 12.376-second lap in qualifying to earn his first Diablo Fabrication Fast Time Award. Dyer was right behind him with a 12.394, good for second quick on the night. Cardey followed that up with a runner-up finish in his heat race, while Dyer placed fourth in his. In the main event, Dyer, who is fourth in CLS points, charged from sixth on the grid to grab a third-place finish — his eighth podium of the 2025 season. Cardey started and finished fifth. That gave him his third straight fifth place finish and his eighth top five of the year. Last weekend, Dyer made a late decision to head south to Barona Speedway for a SoCal Lightning Sprint event — an easy choice considering his previous results there this season: two wins and a fourth. After battling for the lead over the final laps, he crossed the line third, giving him an impressive 2.25 average finish in four Barona starts this year. While Dyer was racing near the Mexican border, Cardey was 400 miles north at Merced Speedway, competing in the Tom and Christi Dunkel Inland Rigging #17A with the USAC Western Midgets. In only his second midget start, the high schooler looked like a veteran — qualifying seventh in the 18-car field, finishing third in his heat, and running in the top ten before contact with another car on lap six ended his night with a 15th-place result. Fans can see Dyer back in USAC/CRA action this Saturday at Perris Auto Speedway. Tickets are $35 for ages 13 and up, $10 for kids 6-12, and free for children 5 and under. Gates open at 5:00 p.m., with racing at 7:00. Parking on the fairgrounds is $20 (card only for parking). Advance tickets are available at tix.com, and plenty of walk-up tickets will also be sold at the gate. Perris Auto Speedway is located on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds, 18700 Lake Perris Drive, Perris, California. On-site camping is available for $25 per night beginning at noon on Fridays. Cardey's California Lightning Sprint Car is sponsored by Eibach Springs, Cardey Construction, Inland Rigging, Jake Swanson Shock Technology, Last Lap Insider, and Dylan Godeniz Motorsports. In 2025, the following marketing partners will help keep Dyer on track. Straight Time Stirrups, Haircuts By Susie, Jobu Racing, Justice Brothers, Fonseca Racing, Specialty Fasteners, and Blud Racing Lubricants. If you would like to be a part of Dyer Motorsports in 2024, call (760) 550-7237 or send an email to mailto:dyermotorsports4@gmail.com. - PASSCAR Super Stocks and Street Stocks Join USAC/CRA Sprint Cars Saturday at Perris
Perris, California — October 13, 2025 — The 2025 racing season at Perris Auto Speedway charges into the home stretch this Saturday night, October 18th, when the Avanti Windows and Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Cars return to headline an action-packed card that also features the PASSCAR Super Stocks and Street Stocks. Spectator gates for the thrilling night of high-speed dirt track racing and family fun open at 5:00 PM, with the first green flag waving at 7:00. 536269761_31673829025541317_8566279818282748774_n.jpg Street Stock point leader Shawn Estes is undefeated at Perris Auto Speedway in 2025. Kenny Lonngren photo. The 29th season at the popular Riverside County half-mile clay oval is winding down with just five races to go. The USAC/CRA Sprint Cars and PASSCAR Stock Cars will be in action this Saturday, October 18th, November 1st, and November 8th. LKQ Pick Your Part will present the final two Nights of Destruction on October 18th and November 22nd. Going into the last Super Stock race on September 27th, it had been the year of Yucaipa's Chuck Becker. The four-time track champion was still chasing his first win of the season but had finished runner-up in the first four races and built a comfortable points lead. However, disaster struck that night, taking Becker out early and opening the door for Banning's Ricky Lee. The 2023 Super Stock champ capitalized with a big win and now trails Becker by only three points heading into Saturday's showdown. Victorville's Rick Arringdale, a former PAS stock car champ in 1998 and 2001, sits third in the standings. Beaumont's Steven Welch and Bakersfield's second-generation racer Billy Simkins round out the top five. In the PASSCAR Street Stocks, Riverside's Shawn Estes, the 2012 class champion, has been unbeatable in 2025—sweeping every heat and main event so far this season. That perfect record has earned him a commanding 22-point lead over George Leventis of Palos Verdes with three races remaining. Estes' son in law, Chad Mahony of Yorba Linda, ranks third. He is followed by Ohio transplant Evan Sennett of Riverside and 2021 champion Brandon Kelly, who are ranked fourth and fifth. On the USAC/CRA side, Laveen, Arizona's RJ Johnson—the defending series champion—has found his groove, winning the last two main events at The PAS. Those back-to-back victories, his only USAC/CRA wins of the season, have helped him stretch his lead to 65 points over Oxnard's Ricky Lewis with five races left (three at Perris and two next week at Central Arizona Raceway). Lewis, who led the standings for much of the year, still tops the win chart with eight triumphs in 2025. Four of his wins have came in the first eight races at Perris. "The Big Game Hunter" Austin Williams of Corona, San Diego's AJ Bender, and Yucaipa's Tommy "Thunder" Malcolm complete the top five. Saturday's tickets are $35.00 for those 13 years old and over. Kids (6-12) get in for $10.00. Children 5 and under are free. Parking on the fairgrounds is $20 (card only for parking). Advance tickets are available at tix.com, but plenty of walk-up tickets will also be available at the gate. Perris Auto Speedway is located on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds, 18700 Lake Perris Drive, Perris, California. On-site camping is available for $25 per night beginning at noon on Fridays. - After a Week in Yosemite, Brody Roa Heads Back to Battle at Perris Auto Speedway Saturday
Cypress, CA - October 12, 2025 — After a week of camping and recharging with his wife and daughters in the majestic Yosemite National Park, a rejuvenated Brody Roa is ready to get back behind the wheel when the Avanti Windows and Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series returns to Perris Auto Speedway this Saturday, October 18th. For Roa, it's the first of three races in four weeks at the legendary Riverside County half-mile oval. Saturday's showdown comes just two weeks after another impressive performance from the veteran racer at Arizona's Mohave Valley Raceway, where he earned his second In Memory of Jim and Chet Gardner Hard Charger award of the season. The Garden Grove, California star has a special connection with Mohave. It is the site of one of the most thrilling victories of his career, when he stormed from 11th to win a 30-lap USAC/CRA main event in dominating fashion on October 8, 2022. At the same track two weeks ago, Roa qualified 14th out of 28 cars with a lap of 14.549. He then piloted his immaculate #91R sprint car to a convincing victory in the first heat race of the night. It was his fifth USAC/CRA heat race win of 2025. True to form, Roa started deep in the feature but wasted no time charging through the pack. In the 30-lap main event, the 34-year-old methodically picked off eight competitors to claim a hard-earned sixth-place finish. So far this season in his own #91R machine, Roa has started nine main events, finishing in the top ten every time except for one. That came in June at Perris in a race that he had just taken the lead before being sidelined by misfortune. His 2025 stats include three top-five finishes and a season-best third at Perris three weeks ago. At Perris this year, Roa's average main event finish is a solid 7.28. Remove the race he was knocked out of, and that number improves to an impressive 5.66. That fine number offers proof that "The Pride of Garden Grove" is as fast and focused as ever heading into Saturday night's return to the "Southern California Home of USAC/CRA." Spectator gates at Perris open at 5:00 p.m. with racing at 7:00. Tickets for those 13 and over are $35.00. Kids 6-12 get in for $10.00, and children 5 and under are free. The fairgrounds charge $20.00 for parking (payment for parking is by card only). Perris Auto Speedway is located on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds at 18700 Lake Perris Drive in the city of Perris. For more information, please visit perrisautospeedway.com or call (951) 940-0134. - R.J. JOHNSON LEADS USAC/CRA SPRINT CARS TO PERRIS
Continuing his bid for a second championship, R.J. Johnson of Laveen, Arizona will lead the Avanti Windows & Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Cars to Perris Auto Speedway this Saturday, October 18th.
- Eddie Tafoya Jr. Returns to Perris After Another Top-10 Finish
Chino Hills, CA — October 8, 2025 — After a brief break from competition, Eddie Tafoya Jr. will return to action when the Avanti Windows and Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series resumes on Saturday, October 18th, at Perris Auto Speedway. The event will mark the 22nd start of the season for the Chino Hills, California, racer and his ninth appearance of the year at the track closest to his home. Tafoya, 28, heads into the night following another solid top-10 performance at the famed half mile on September 27th. On an evening when rain showers surrounded the facility and came within a mile of the oval, the driver of the eye-catching #51T qualified eighth quick with a lap of 17.066 seconds. The 2019 USAC/CRA Rookie of the Year went on to finish fifth in his heat race. In the 30-lap main event, he started in the eighth position and maintained his consistent form to finish in the same spot against a tough field of competitors. In eight main event starts at Perris in 2025, the track's 2018 Young Guns Champion has finished inside the top 10 seven times. The only exception came in the season opener on March 1st, when loose belts forced him to slow mid-race and he placed 13th. His best Perris result this year is a fourth-place finish on September 13th in a race streamed live worldwide on Dirt Vision. His average main event finish in 2025 at the long-time Riverside County half mile stands at an impressive 8.125. Tafoya has qualified in seven of eight visits to The PAS this season. The lone miss occurred on August 16th, when a tumble during his first qualifying lap sidelined his effort. His quickest qualifying time came at the March 1st season opener—16.668 seconds—while his best qualifying position, sixth, has been achieved twice (April 5th and June 21st). His overall qualifying average entering the October 18th event is 8.288. Event Info: • Date: Saturday, October 18, 2025 • Location: Perris Auto Speedway, 18700 Lake Perris Drive, Perris, CA • Times: Spectator gates open at 5:00 p.m., racing at 7:00 p.m. • Tickets: Ages 13+ - $35.00 | Seniors (65+) - $30.00 | Kids 6-12 - $10.00 | Children 5 & under - Free • Parking: $20.00 (Fairgrounds parking is card only) • Tickets: Advance tickets at tix.com | Plenty of walk-up tickets available • Track Info: perrisautospeedway.com | 951-940-0134 Tafoya can be followed on Instagram at @eddietafoya51.
