- Arenz takes first run at LaSalle, ramps up for three-race IRA weekend
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) August 27, 2025 - After competing in just three Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series races over the span of the past seven weeks, Travis Arenz and his crew got back on track with their first appearance at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Ill., on Saturday, Aug. 23. Arenz opened the night by qualifying 18th overall in the 36-car field with a lap of 11.660 seconds. After placing sixth in the second IRA heat race, the 2020 and 2021 Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion rolled off third and advanced one spot to place second in the 12-lap B main and move on to the evening's main event. The Sheboygan Falls, Wis. driver started 21st in the 30-lap main event and worked his way up to as high as 12th before tallying a 20th place showing. "LaSalle is a cool facility," Arenz said. "I have never raced there before, so I'm glad we got to experience it, but the night's results were less than favorable. I made contact with the wall after losing tack coming out of the turn during the closing laps of the feature, which resulted in making contact with another driver. It was a driving error on my part. I always want to race clean and respectfully. With the wreck this past weekend, there is a lot of work to prepare for this weekend. We will get everything back together and be ready. I hope to turn good clean laps all weekend. I'm also hoping to get a little redemption at Beaver Dam while we still can!" The Travis Arenz Motorsports Team is set to enter a big tripleheader weekend of IRA action starting at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis., for the annual Sheboygan County Fair race on Friday, Aug. 29. On-track action is set to commence at 5 p.m. One night later, Arenz joins the IRA for the Harry Neitzel Tribute and Jim Wipperfurth Memorial, billed as the last-ever Sprint Car race at Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wis., on Saturday, Aug. 30. Spectator gates are scheduled to open at 4 p.m. with racing starting at 6 p.m. The weekend closes with an appearance at The Hill Raceway in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., with the IRA 410 Sprint Car Series. Spectator gates open at 3 p.m. with racing scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. All 2025 IRA events are streamed live on floracing.com. On Tuesday, Aug. 19, Hartmann and crew traveled to far western Wisconsin to take on the World of Outlaws 410 Sprint Car Series at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis. The fifth-year Sprint Car competitor qualified 23rd in the 27-car field with a lap of 12.045 around the lightning-fast, third-mile high-banked clay oval. After placing seventh in the second heat race, the Plymouth, Wis. driver advanced to the 30-lap A-main with a second place showing in the Last Chance Showdown. Hartmann held strong in the main event to post a 21st place showing. The team made its first-ever visit to the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Ill., with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association on Saturday, Aug. 23. The 2020 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing and Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Car Rookie of the Year Award recipient qualified 19th overall in the 36-car field with a lap of 11.679 seconds on the quarter-mile high-banked dirt oval. He then placed sixth in the first IRA heat race before starting fifth in the B Main. Hartmann was running seventh, needing to place in the top four to advance to the main event, when an incident on lap 8 ended his evening early. He was credited with a 10th place showing. "It was another IRA show where the results weren't what we wanted," Hartmann said. "I didn't have a very good night behind the wheel. We're looking forward to getting things straight for the three-race weekend coming up." 87A Hartmann Racing Team is preparing for a big tripleheader weekend of IRA action starting at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis., for the annual Sheboygan County Fair race on Friday, Aug. 29. - After eventful double dip, Pokorski eyes IRA tripleheader
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) August 26, 2025 - Following a month away from competition, a weekend of 360 and 410 Sprint Car action offered a little bit of everything for Alex Pokorski and members of the Akright Auto Racing Team. The team opened the doubleheader weekend with a night of Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car action at The Plymouth Dirt Track on Friday, Aug 22. Alex began the program by registering the seventh fastest qualifying time in the 26-car field with a lap of 12.746 around the semi-banked third-mile clay oval. After starting third and placing second in the second heat race, the fifth-year Sprint Car racer rolled off from the fourth starting slot in the 25-lap headliner. The West Bend native used a strong start to vault into second on lap 4. While dueling with Scotty Thiel for the runner-up spot on lap 9, Pokorski brushed the front stretch wall, which resulted in a flat right rear tire. After retreating to the work area for a tire change, he rejoined the field, charging from 21st to secure a 12th place finish. One night later, on Saturday, Aug. 23, Pokorski and crew made their debut appearance at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Ill., for a Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series event. After qualifying 31st in the 36-car field with a lap of 12.227 seconds around the quarter-mile high-banked dirt oval, Pokorski placed seventh in the fourth heat race. Alex lined up sixth in the 12-lap B Main and was battling for the final A-main transfer spot when he clipped the front stretch wall on lap 7. The impact produced enough damage to bring the evening to a close for the No. 4 car. He was credited with a ninth place showing in the B main. "We had good speed in the 360 again," Pokorski said. "We were just unlucky to crash early in the A main. On the 410 side of things, we are still learning. I ended up driving it too hard and made some more work for us this week. We have a good start on it. I'm hoping to finish up the season strong, beginning with making the three shows this weekend." The Alex Pokorski-Akright Auto Racing Team is preparing for a big tripleheader weekend of IRA action starting at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis., for the annual Sheboygan County Fair race on Friday, Aug. 29. On-track action is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. One night later, Pokorski joins the IRA for the Harry Neitzel Tribute and Jim Wipperfurth Memorial in what is being billed as the final Sprint Car race ever to be held at Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wis., on Saturday, Aug. 30. Spectator gates are scheduled to open at 4 p.m., with racing starting at 6 p.m. The weekend closes with the team's first-ever appearance at The Hill Raceway in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., with the IRA 410 Sprint Car Series. - Fast start falls short for Arenz at Road Challenge, IRA road trip on tap
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 25, 2025 - Still riding the wave of his remarkable upset victory in a High Limit Racing national tour series event at 141 Speedway on June 5, it was a matter of so close, yet so far away in the Road America Challenge Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car event at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, June 21. The 18th-year racer enjoyed a great start to the night by qualifying a stout fourth in the 25-car field with a lap of 12.050 seconds around the third-mile semi-banked red clay oval. After finishing second in the first eight-lap IRA heat race, Arenz advanced to his seventh IRA dash appearance in eight tries in 2025. After making a huge outside move on the opening lap of the first four-lap dash, Arenz advanced from fifth to second to earn the fourth starting position in the 30-lap Road America Challenge main event. The 2021 and 2022 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing and Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Car champion got off to a strong start in A-main action before engaging in a battle for second with Jake Neuman. After moving past Neumann on Lap 17, the 2013 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing Outlaw Compact four-cylinder track champion tracked down leader Kelby Watt heading into the closing stages of the race. Arenz surged ahead to lead lap 24 before Watt battled back along the outside groove. On lap 25, Watt attempted to squeeze past Arenz next to the backstretch wall. However, the two drivers made contact before Watt cut down the track in turn three to seize the lead. Meanwhile, Arenz slowed to a stop on the following lap with a flat right rear tire resulting from the collision with Watt. After making a tire change in the work area, Arenz returned at the rear of the lead lap before moving up to secure a 15th-place showing at the finish line. "I was very happy to be able to put down a good lap in qualifying," Arenz said. "The heat race went well and I moved forward in the dash. Unfortunately, come feature time, there was a racing incident that caused a caution and cut down my right rear tire after taking over the lead position. We were able to get it changed and with five laps to go, and I was able to drive from the back of the field to get a few spots back." The team is preparing to head out on the road with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association Sprint Car Series this Friday, June 27 at Bloomington Speedway in Bloomington, Ind. and Saturday, June 28 at Butler Speedway in Quincy, Mich. At Bloomington Speedway on Friday night, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars and Super Stocks are also on the card. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. with spectator gates opening at 5 p.m., hot laps at 6:30 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m. on the quarter-mile high-banked red clay oval. On Saturday night at three-eighths high-banked Butler Motor Speedway dirt oval, UMP Modifieds and Four Cylinders will also be featured with pit gates opening at 3 p.m., followed by spectator gates at 4 p.m., hot laps at 6 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m. The races will mark Arenz's first career appearance at both tracks. "I always like to take on new tracks," Arenz said. "I see it as a challenge to test my knowledge and skill. We will do what we do every night - watch the track, watch other drivers on the track, make smart choices and be smooth and consistent." The first 43 laps of The Diamond 47 were all Anvelink, who was the Ken's Sports Pole Sitter after winning his heat race and drawing the pole for the race. Anvelink took the lead from the start while Troy Springborn and Swedberg battled for second, with Springborn challenging Anvelink for the lead on lap three, after caution slowed the field. Anvelink maintained his lead, stretching out 2.365 seconds over Springborn, who continued to battle with Swedberg and Joel Bennett for second. Caution slowed the field on lap twelve for debris, allowing Swedberg to move to second on the restart. Swedberg followed Anvelink, holding off challenges from Taylor Scheffler over the course of a couple of restarts, before finally getting a long green flag run with 18 laps to go. Anvelink maintained his advantage and with a clear track ahead of him, stretched out his lead over Swedberg and the real battle was for third with Springborn, Scheffler and Gunner Frank and great three wide racing throughout the field. With ten laps to go, Swedberg started to close in on Anvelink as they approached the tail end of the field. Anvelink preferred the inside of the track, while Swedberg ran the outside. With the tail end of the field racing for position, Anvelink and Swedberg maintained their respective lines and with four laps to go, Swedberg made his move, the Autoworx Clean Move of the Race, to win The Diamond 47. Anvelink finished second, followed by Frank, Scheffler, and Springborn. Justin Ritchie finished sixth followed by Cole Czarneski, who earned an additional $107, sponsored by Larry Mc Reds, Diamond Jim Letizia's longtime Crew Chief, Brad Mueller, Mike Mullen and Jake Redetzke. - Arenz etches name among Sprint Car elite with stunning High Limit victory
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 11, 2025 - No matter how many victories he might secure or championship trophies he may lift during the remainder of his racing career, June 5, 2025, will most certainly be a date neither Travis Arenz nor a legion of Sprint Car fans near and far will ever forget. Following a strong start to the 2025 Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series, Arenz checked into 141 Speedway hoping to gain experience against top-level competition in his first career entry in a Kubota High Limit Racing event for the series' debut at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek, Wis. on Thursday, June 5. The 18th-year competitor left the 141 Speedway facility as the shocking winner of the $26,000 Rayce Rudeen Foundation top prize with High Limit Racing, which boasts a strong contingent of the best 410 Winged Sprint Car racers in the world. Arenz's remarkable evening opened by drawing the No. 1 pill for qualifying, which turned out to be very advantageous for the Sheboygan Falls, Wis. driver. As the track began to dry out significantly during the qualifying session, Arenz's early lap of 11.209 put him second in the final qualifying order among the 29-car field. After placing fourth in the second High Limit heat race, Arenz advanced to the dash, which set the first three rows of starters for the 35-lap main event. Arenz placed fifth in the dash to roll off fifth in the first High Limit Racing A main to ever be contested at 141 Speedway. The 2021 and 2022 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing and Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Car champion bided his time in the opening laps of the A main sticking primarily to the bottom groove of the third-mile semi-banked egg-shaped clay oval bullring. On lap 12, Arenz snuck underneath Justin Peck to claim second. Following the third caution flag of the race on lap 15, Arenz dove low to power past leader Bill Balog and grab the top spot. From there, Arenz successfully endured four more caution flags and pulled out to a half-lap lead over the second-place car of Tanner Thorson on the way to his first career High Limit Racing main event victory in his first-ever attempt. The win also marked Arenz's third career 410 Sprint Car victory and his 73rd overall A-main triumph spanning 4-cylinders, Sport Mods, 360 Sprint Cars and 410 Sprint Cars. "It was a ride of emotions at 141," Arenz said. "It was a night that made history and one we will never forget. The night started great with the pill draw going in our favor. I would have been ecstatic with a top-10 finish. Who would have thought we would go out and win? I like to take advantage of competing with other series when I can to gain more experience and challenge my knowledge and driving skills. How are you going to get better if you don't challenge yourself? "This is the biggest accomplishment to date in my racing career," he said. "It's been talked about lately how the drivers on national series drive race cars for a living. Most have a set-up guy and paid crew members. My crew and I work full-time jobs. I work 50-plus hours a week, do maintenance on the cars and equipment and then go race. I also make set-up decisions and read track conditions. So, to be able to be competitive with these top teams is very rewarding. It's an honor to earn such a big win for my sponsors, crew and myself." After soaring to the highest of highs in the sport of Winged Sprint Car racing, Arenz endured some challenges during a pair of NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Series events on Friday, June 6 at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. and Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wis. on Saturday, June 7. Arenz qualified 30th overall and 15th in qualifying group B in the 39-car field with a time of 12.112 seconds at The Plymouth Dirt Track. He then placed seventh in heat race three to miss out on an A-main transfer spot by two positions. Arenz placed sixth in the 12-lap Last Chance Showdown to fall short of qualifying for the A main by a pair of spots. On Saturday, June 7, the Travis Arenz Motorsports 25T team headed southwest to the Beaver Dam Raceway where Arenz turned in the 34th fastest qualifying lap in the 36-car field in 12.139 seconds. He placed ninth in the second heat race and started 14th in the 12-lap Last Chance Showdown. After moving up to ninth on lap 6, Arenz got high in turn two and collided with the wall, which ended his night with a 14th-place showing. "At Plymouth at Beaver Dam, our drawing skills for qualifying were terrible," Arenz said. "I qualified almost last both nights and with the heavy competition, we didn't move forward as much as we needed to. There were some set-up choices I should have made differently and, unfortunately, we didn't make the features on Friday or Saturday. On Saturday, unfortunately, the wall in turn two ended our night early in the B main. I would have been interested to see what would have happened if I had been able to finish the B. In 6 laps I drove from 14th to 9th and the top four transferred to the A main. All in all, I learned so much during the weekend." Arenz will return to Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association competition on Friday, June 13 at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois and Saturday, June 14 at Federated Auto Parts I-55 Raceway Park in Pevely, Missouri.
