GLSS - Great Lakes Super Sprints Dirt Track Racing News
- Bounty, American Racers, Tires, No Problem for Dylan Westbrook with GLSS Friday in an Instant Ohsweken Classic
Ohsweken, ON, CAN - When the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP rolled into Ohsweken Speedway on Friday night, many factors played into the makeup of the show. A new tire in play for the Ohsweken regulars with the American Racer Tire, a massive track rework during the week leading up to the event, and a surprise $10,000 bounty to beat Dylan Westbrook. Familiar faces to Ohsweken Speedway led the field to the green flag for the 25-lap main event on Friday night. Darren Dryden and Ryan Turner lit the fuse on an electric race where the action started immediately. At the exit of turn two, Dryden threaded the needle between Turner and the outside wall to take the top spot down the backstretch and lead lap number one. Meanwhile, Dylan Westbrook, from the fourth starting spot, was on a charge to get to the front and keep the $10,000 out of the pockets of his fellow competitors. Nine laps into the race, Westbrook made a three-wide move in turn three to get around Turner and slide into the second spot, while Dryden was slicing his way through lapped traffic trying to run away and hide. When Westbrook got to second, his gap up to Dryden was over 1.5 seconds. By lap 12, Westbrook had the gap down to just half a second and was on Dryden's tail tank going into the third turn, looking at the halfway signal. While Dryden and Westbrook locked in a stalemate at the front, DJ Christie and Cory Turner closed in on the lead duo, creating a four-car war at the front of the field. With seven laps to go, Westbrook put his No.47X at the front of the field, leaving many Ohsweken fans saying 'this is over', but it was far from it. Entering turn three the next time by, Westbrook missed the top of turn three and blew it over the cushion, allowing Dryden to get back by and bring Cory Turner with him. Westbrook came back onto the race track in front of Christie and began his charge back toward the front, but with five laps to go, it was another new leader in the form of Cory Turner. The No.39 used the bottom of the race track to slip by Dryden at the exit of turn two and officially take the lead with four laps to go. Dryden's car began to fade, giving Westbrook the second spot with ease out of corner number four. In turns one and two, Westbrook had pulled back alongside Turner as the pair began fighting it out for the final three laps. Westbrook took the lead back with three laps to go, and then Turner re-took the lead with two laps to go. With the white flag in the air, it was again Turner who held the top spot at the line. Heavy lapped traffic held up Turner on the bottom of turns one and two, allowing Westbrook to take the lead around the outside. Turner was able to get back to his inside in turns three and four, but at the line, with Turner on his tail tank, Westbrook took the win, keeping $10,000 out of Cory Turner's pocket. The win for Westbrook was his 102nd at Ohsweken Speedway and fifth with the Great Lakes Super Sprints. "We were pretty fired up to come out here and get the win," Westbrook said in Victory Lane, speaking about the bounty. "That was an amazing race. That was everything I had to keep it on the top and never tried the bottom and [Cory] was rolling the bottom really good and he'd get me and I'd have to get a big run. I was going through those bumps wide open and hoping it sticks." Cory Turner held on for the second spot ahead of DJ Christie, Darren Dryden, and Ryan Turner rounded out the top five. DJ Christe was the Operating Engineers 324 Hard Charger. Skyler Evans won Engler Machine & Tool Heat Race number one. Cory Turner won Miami Paint Heat Race number two. Darren Dryden won Northwood University Heat Race number three. Skyler Evans was the Ti22 Performance Fast Qualifier. The next event for the Great Lakes Super Sprints is Saturday, June 27th at Buxton Speedway to wrap up the Ontario, Canada swing. Racing is set to begin at 7:00 PM. Fans who can't make the trip can catch the action live on GreatLakesSprints.TV. - Great Lakes Super Sprints Ready for International Affairs Friday & Saturday in Ontario, CAN
Merrill, MI - The Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP (GLSS) are prepared for an international showdown this weekend as the best of the GLSS head to Ohsweken Speedway on Friday night and Buxton Speedway on Saturday night to take on Ontario, Canada's best. The new American Racer tire for GLSS this season may be the variable needed to bring an end to the Canadian's reign on their home soil. The first GLSS events in Ontario came in 2024 with a Thursday and Friday doubleheader at Ohsweken Speedway. The races were co-sanctioned with the Southern Ontario Sprints and Ohsweken Speedway weekly divisions. Dylan Westbrook handled business both nights in Ohsweken before the Tour moved to Buxton Speedway on Saturday night. Darren Dryden started on the pole and held off challenges from Ryan Turner and DJ Christie for the win. Last year, Dryden overcame a start violation on the opening green flag to go to Victory Lane for the second time with GLSS and his first career win at Ohsweken Speedway. The next night at Buxton Speedway, DJ Christie punched his ticket to the winner's club with GLSS. The Ontario regulars have had their home turf locked down in recent years, but things could equalize as GLSS brings in a few weeks of familiarity on the new American Racers. Coming into the weekend, the best finishes among GLSS regulars have been around fifth. Last year, 2018 Tour Champion, Dustin Daggett, finished fourth at Buxton Speedway a night after finishing sixth at Ohsweken. In 2024, Max Stambaugh carried the GLSS banner, finishing seventh and 11th at Ohsweken before finishing fifth at Buxton to close out the weekend. This year, to balance the Canadian's familiarity with the tracks, the GLSS teams' familiarity with the American Racer tire may level the playing field. Teams have had 10 races on the MC3 right-rear and the SD38 left rear. In those 10 races that the American Racer has been legal, eight different drivers have gone to victory lane, with only Zane DeVault capturing multiple wins this season. The international affair for GLSS begins Friday, June 26th at Ohsweken Speedway. General Admission gates open at 6:00 PM with racing at 7:30 PM. On Saturday at Buxton Speedway, racing is set to begin at 7:00 PM. Fans who can't make the trip can catch the action all weekend long on GreatLakesSprints.TV.
- Another One for the Old Guys: Gressman on the Gas at Tri City with GLSS
Auburn, MI - Just six days after 53-year-old Van Gurley, Jr went to Victory Lane with the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP (GLSS) at Lawrenceburg Speedway, 52-year-old Phil Gressman found his way back to the Tri City Motor Speedway winner's square on Friday night with the GLSS. Bringing the field to green alongside fellow Ohio native, Chase Dunham, Gressman was in the second spot at the exit of turn two and down the backstretch for the opening lap. However, Gressman knows how important it is to lead these races, and by the exit of turn four, Gressman was able to take the lead from Dunham and control the opening lap. Through lapped traffic, Gressman had company with Max Stambaugh working his way into the second spot as Dunham's car started to struggle. At the halfway mark, Stambaugh showed a nose and tried to make a pass into turn one for the lead. He and Gressman were side-by-side at the exit of turn two when the caution flew for a spinning Devon Dobie in turns three and four. Gressman handled the restart out front, with hard chargers moving through the field behind him, Dusting Daggett from the 10th spot picked off a couple of positions on the restart before Jared Horstman lost the top of turn one and came to a stop to draw the second caution of the night. Just two laps later, the same thing happened to Dunham, sliding over the banking in turn one to bring out another yellow inside of 10 laps to go. The final run to the checkered stayed green, and Dagget may have had the strongest car on the track. He picked off John Ivy for the third spot on the track and challenged Stambaugh for second but ran out of time to move up the final two spots for the win. Instead, it was Phil Gressman who went to Victory Lane for the first time in his career at Tri City Motor Speedway. "Why not, two for the old guys, we'll take it," Gressman said in Victory Lane. "Anytime you can get away from lapped cars, it's gotta be beneficial. I was kind of committed to running the top there, I could see the race track changing without trying to kill a bunch of speed and drop to the bottom." Max Stambaugh finished second with Dustin Daggett, who came from 10th, finishing third. Behind him, Graham Huffman, from 11th finished in fourth, with John Ivy in fifth. Alex Clute, from 20th, finished 12th advancing eight spots for the Operating Engineers 324 Hard Charger Award. The next event for the Great Lakes Super Sprints is Saturday, June 13th at Butler Motor Speedway. Fans who can't make the trip can catch the action on GreatLakesSprints.TV. John Ivy was the Ti22 Performance Fast Qualifier with a 12.055. John Ivy won Engler Machine and Tool Heat Race 1. Gregg Dalman won Beacon and Bridge Markets Heat Race 2. Max Stambaugh won Northwood University Heat Race 3. Alex Clute was the Operating Engineers 324 Hard Charger advancing 8 spots. MacAllister CAT A Feature 1 (25 Laps): 1. 7C-Phil Gressman[1]; 2. 71H-Max Stambaugh[3]; 3. 85-Dustin Daggett[10]; 4. 09X-Graham Huffman[11]; 5. 5I-John Ivy[6]; 6. 49T-Gregg Dalman[5]; 7. 20I-Kelsey Ivy[4]; 8. 38-Chase Ridenour[14]; 9. 42-Boston Mead[13]; 10. 16-Ryan Ruhl[16]; 11. 27K-Zac Broughman[12]; 12. 14A-Alex Clute[20]; 13. 3A-Mike Astrauskas[19]; 14. 66-Chase Dunham[2]; 15. 13-Van Gurley Jr[9]; 16. 70-Eli Lakin[15]; 17. 81-RJ Payne[17]; 18. 7-Alex Aldrich[22]; 19. 67-Kevin Martens[18]; 20. 31-Jim Girard[21]; 21. 17-Jared Horstman[8]; 22. 23-Devon Dobie[7]
- Dussel Dominates Ron Kahle, Jr Memorial with GLSS at Limaland Motorsports Park
Lima, OH - The best way to honor a man who gave as much as he could to the racing community is to hand out some extra money in his name during a memorial event. That's exactly what happened on Friday night with the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP at Limaland Motorsports Park during the Ron Kahle, Jr Memorial. An over $21,000 purse was on the line Friday night with nearly 30 cars on the property looking for a chance to race for the increased purse. Van Gurley, Jr and Nate Dussel led the field to the initial green, but a jump put Gurley back a row, forcing a restart. No issue for Dussel who jumped out to the lead down the backstretch, but the field was again slowed for debris on the backstretch when the nose wing of Easton Zent's No.16B came off. The first lap was complete before Graham Huffman spun in turn one, drawing another yellow flag. A quick trip to the work area for Huffman before he returned. Dussel again had no issue with the restart putting a sizeable gap on Gurley, JR and Jac Nickles. In fact, for the entirety of the night, Dussel was never challenged for the lead. The racing for position was well behind Dussel from second on back. The field was stopped again with 9 laps in when Phil Gressman caught a piece of an infield tire and flipped exiting turn four. Chase Dunham was also involved. With Dussel controlling the lead, all eyes turned to the turn three and four cushion, which had drivers working hard all night. At the halfway mark, Mason Hannagan was bit by the cushion when it turned him sideways and drew another yellow flag. On the restart, the cars to watch were last Friday night's feature winner, Dustin Daggett, and former All-Star Circuit of Champions regular, Darin Naida. Both cars transferring from the B-Main were on a mission to improve their finishing position. Daggett and Naida were going above the curb of the cushion and three and four and rocketing around the extreme outside of the race track. The result was a plus 11 effort for Daggett and a plus 13 effort for Darin Naida. Dussel held on to get the $6,000 win in the 6th anniversary of Ron Kahle, Jr's passing, and he did so while racing Ron Hammond's No.6, a car that Kahle supported for many years. "No secret that Ron Hammonds was a big part of our race team, and Ron [Kahle, Jr] was a close friend of his, and he asked if we could represent him tonight, and he honestly took the thought out of my mind," Dussel said in Victory Lane. "I'm super stoked; I've never won six grand, so for our little team this is going to go a long way." Van Gurley, Jr held on for second while Max Stambaugh, Darin Naida, and Dustin Daggett rounded out the top five. The next event for the Great Lakes Super Sprints is Saturday, June 6th at Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, IN. General Admission gates open at 5:00 PM, with racing set to begin at 7:00 PM. Fans who can't make the trip can catch the action live on www.GreatLakesSprints.TV. Van Gurley, Jr won Engler Machine & Tool Heat Race number one. Max Stambaugh won Howard Johnson by Wyndham Heat Race number two. Mason Hannagan won Miami Paint and Equipment Heat Race number three. Kelsey Ivy won the Miami Pain and Equipment B-Main. Darin Naida was the Operating Engineers' Hard Charger advancing 13 spots. - Over $21K Purse Awaits GLSS During Ron Kahle Memorial Friday at Limaland Motorsports Park
Lima, OH - Last week, officials from the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP (GLSS), in conjunction with Limaland Motorsports Park, announced that the Ron Kahle, Jr Memorial/K&L Ready Mix Clash on Friday, June 5th, would pay a record-setting $6,000 to win. The benchmark winner's share of the purse had already made the show the richest purse in GLSS history. As of Sunday night, even more sponsors have stepped forward to increase the overall purse to over $21,000 on Friday night. On Friday, May 15th, the GLSS unloaded at Limaland Motorsports Park for what was, at the time, the richest purse in history with a $ 5,000-to-win affair in the Run for the Rabbit. Mason Hannagan grabbed the win, his first, and joined his dad, Randy, on the list of Run for the Rabbit winners. The Run for the Rabbit pulled in over 30 cars looking for a chance at the increased payday. This Friday, it's not just the winner's share that sees an increase. In addition to the $6,000 to win, the race will also pay $600 to start, a nod to the six years since Ron Kahle's passing. Sponsors making the event possible include Ohio Logistics Warehousing & Transportation, Miami Auto Paint & Equipment, Tim Goan's Carpets, Texas Roadhouse of Lima, University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH), and GreatLakesSprints.TV. Ron Kahle, Jr is credited with being a helping hand for a lot of different things; from motorsports to community, many remember Kahle, Jr for his support. In motorsports, he's remembered as one of Limaland Motorsports Park's biggest supporters. He helped make sure 360 Sprint Car Racing stayed relevant in Northwest Ohio for many years. In the community, a Ron Kahle Jr. Memorial Shelter house was erected at Deters Park in honor of his selfless acts around Putnam County and the surrounding areas. "Ron is deeply missed by so many in the racing community," said Limaland Motorsports Park General Manager Stephanie Swallow. "His contributions to local, regional, and even national racing are still being felt today. We feel so privileged to be able to honor his memory and legacy with the running of the Ron Kahle Jr. Memorial, and are thrilled to have others step up to make it even bigger." The $6,000 to win, $600 to start Ron Kahle, Jr Memorial is Friday, June 5th at Limaland Motorsports Park for the Great Lakes Super Sprints. The event is followed by the one-and-only trip for GLSS to Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday, June 6th. Tickets for the Ron Kahle, Jr Memorial will be available at the gate on race day. Fans who can't make the trip can catch all the action LIVE on GreatLakesSprints.TV.
- Been Long Enough: Dustin Daggett Breaks Nearly Two Year Winless Streak; Dominates I-96 Speedway
Lake Odessa, MI - There are drivers that you just expect to win. When they're on the race track, you know they can, and they should, get the job done. Portland, Michigan native, Dustin Daggett, is no exception. In a career that has spanned nearly a quarter of a century, Daggett has won in every season he's raced in, except one: 2025. His stats last year were great, 27 races with the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP (GLSS), and 21 top five finishes, including countless runner-up finishes. Friday night at I-96 Speedway, fans were in attendance for a classic "Double D" performance around the high-speed 4/10ths mile in West Michigan. Rolling off on the outside of the front row with Chase Dunham, Daggett secured the lead at the exit of turn two, and made it clear he had a rocketship of a race car. At one point, Daggett opened up a nearly two-second advantage over Dunham, including while working through lapped traffic. A caution at the halfway point of the race put everyone on the edge of their seats. Dunham took a swipe to the inside of Daggett on the restart, but never could officially take the lead away from the 2018 GLSS Champion. With five laps to go, Daggett's car clearly changed as his pace fell off. Dunham and third-place-running Scott Bogucki were tracking Daggett down. It was clear Daggett was going to need to earn his win on Friday night. That was, until Bogucki threw a tight slider on Dunham at the exit of turn four. The move cost both drivers their momentum and allowed Daggett to pull away with the win. "It's been long enough," Dagget said in Victory Lane. "I've really got to thank my Grandpa, he does everything on these cars; he does all the maintenance, he does a ton of stuff. Everybody that touches this car, they do a hell of a job. The car started to get pretty tight on me there at the end." "Last year was the first year I didn't win a feature," Daggett said when asked if this was the toughest stretch of his career. "A lot of second places, but in my book that's just the first loser. Had a lot of those last year, but a good start this year." Bogucki held on to second, Max Stambaugh worked his way to third, with Brad Lamberson getting around Dunham late to finish out the top five. A Feature 1 (25 Laps): 1. 85-Dustin Daggett[2]; 2. 51-Scott Bogucki[6]; 3. 71H-Max Stambaugh[3]; 4. 27-Brad Lamberson[5]; 5. 66-Chase Dunham[1]; 6. 23-Devon Dobie[7]; 7. 31-Jac Nickles[11]; 8. 49T-Gregg Dalman[10]; 9. 12-Corbin Gurley[13]; 10. 38-Chase Ridenour[4]; 11. 77X-Alex Hill[9]; 12. 16-Ryan Ruhl[14]; 13. 42-Boston Mead[12]; 14. 7C-Phil Gressman[18]; 15. 13-Van Gurley Jr[17]; 16. 20I-Kelsey Ivy[16]; 17. 13T-Andy Teunessen[20]; 18. 27K-Zac Broughman[19]; 19. 19-Jett Mann[15]; 20. 17-Jared Horstman[8] Chase Dunham was the Ti22 Performance Fast Qualifier Scott Bogucki won Engler Machine & Tool Heat Race 1. Dustin Daggett won Beacon & Bridge Markets Heat Race 2. Chase Ridenour won Miami Paint Heat Race 3. Kelsey Ivy won the Miami Paint B-Main. Scott Bogucki was the Operating Engineers 324 Hard Charger (+4).
- GLSS Kicks off Sprint Car Week in Michigan Friday at I-96 Speedway
Lake Odessa, MI - The Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP (GLSS) are back in action this Friday night at I-96 Speedway. The first scheduled trip to West Michigan was washed away in April, leaving this post-Memorial Day show as the appetizer for a busy week of Sprint Car racing in Michigan. Coming into Friday night's show, just three races have been completed toward the run for a GLSS championship in 2026. Seven scheduled shows have been lost to Mother Nature or adverse track conditions as a result of Mother Nature. Because of this, Zane DeVault remains the current Championship Points leader heading into the weekend. DeVault is two-for-three so far this season with GLSS, grabbing wins in the season opener at Crystal Motor Speedway on April 25th and again at Shadyhill Speedway on May 16th. DeVault holds a 74-point lead over four-time and defending GLSS Champion, Max Stambaugh on the Tour, and a 12-point lead over 2018 Tour Champion, Dustin Daggett in the North Division standings. I-96 Speedway has always been a roll of the dice on who will end up in GLSS Victory Lane. Since the first race on July 31, 2016, a total of 18 different drivers have won at I-96. Since winning the debut in 2016, inaugural GLSS Champion Chase Ridenour has been held out of the limelight in Lake Odessa. Jared Horstman (11), Dustin Daggett (8), Phil Gressman (4), and Max Stambaugh (4) sit atop the wins column ranks. Horstman was on another level at I-96 in 2025, winning three of five scheduled shows, finishing second and fifth in the shows he didn't win. GLSS and I-96 Speedway kick off a stretch of racing in Michigan that features five different sanctioning bodies at six different tracks in seven days. Following GLSS at I-96, High Limit Racing Sprint Cars unload at Butler Motor Speedway on Saturday, May 30th, the same day that the Great Lakes Lightning Sprints head back to Silver Bullet Speedway. Then, the Race for the Million 410 Winged Sprint Cars head to Owosso Speedway on Wednesday, June 3rd; finally, the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars return to Hartford Speedway on Friday, June 5th, with the Great Lakes Lightning Sprints making a return trip to Mt Pleasant Speedway that same day. Advanced tickets to the Great Lakes Super Sprints at I-96 Speedway are available at I96Speedway.com. Fans who can't make the trip can catch the action LIVE on www.GreatLakesSprints.TV. Find GreatLakesSuperSprints.com for more information. Follow Great Lakes Super Sprints on Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, and YouTube.

- Dangerous Track Conditions Force Cancellation of GLSS Event at Hartford Speedway
Hartford, MI - Officials with Hartford Speedway and the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP have made the difficult decision to cancel the event scheduled for Friday, May 8th. A dangerous racing surface and consideration for the race teams are the causes for the cancellation. Officials at Hartford Speedway have made several improvements to the facility this winter and spring, including adding new clay around the race track. However, due to the excessively wet and cold conditions in southern Michigan this spring, the track is too soft to prepare and will undoubtedly cause mechanical failures and accidents if raced on. Officials with the GLSS are thankful to the staff and promoters of Hartford Speedway for making this decision, saving teams from the potential strain of a rough race track. The next event for Hartford Speedway is scheduled for Friday, May 15th, featuring the Great Lakes Traditional Sprints Presented by CAT Rental Stores. For the Great Lakes Super Sprints, the next event is Friday, May 15th for the $5,000 to win Run for the Rabbit from Limaland Motorsports Park. A debut appearance at Shadyhill Speedway follows on Saturday, May 16th. For more information on the Great Lakes Super Sprints, log onto GreatLakesSuperSprints.com. - Great Lakes Super Sprints Open Hartford Speedway Friday Night
Hartford, MI - The Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP will help kick the gates open at Michigan's Hartford Speedway this Friday night. One of the most technically challenging tracks on the circuit, Hartford Speedway offers teams an early-season opportunity to set themselves apart from the rest of the pack. Likewise, the tough-to-navigate third turn could also be an early-season troublemaker. Hartford Speedway has long been a staple on the GLSS schedule, going back to the inaugural season in 2016. Dustin Daggett grabbed the win and the fast qualifier honors that season during the lone race held in July. Friday will mark the 19th different race held at Hartford. In that time, 10 different drivers have gone to victory lane. The West Michigan facility has a habit of producing first-time winners with GLSS. Last season, Chase Dunham earned his first career win with the Tour after setting fast time earlier in the night. Dunham was a former track record holder at Hartford Speedway, setting the mark in 2020 before Tylar Rankin blistered a new record in 2022 with a 14.647, which remains the current record. Keith Sheffer, Jr and Jay Steinebach also reside on the list of drivers who earned their first career GLSS wins at Hartford Speedway. For Dunham, Sheffer, and Steineback, the wins serve as their only breakthroughs with the Series to date. Former GLSS Champion, Ryan Ruhl, also notched his first GLSS win at Hartford Speedway in June of 2019. Since then, Ruhl has gone on to collect 10 career GLSS wins, three of which have come from Hartford. The GLSS roll into Hartford having completed just one points-paying race this season, going back to Crystal Motor Speedway on Saturday, April 25th. Zane DeVault grabbed the win after a pair of engine failures for Jared Horstman and Clinton Boyles. DeVault currently sits atop the GLSS points championship hunt, but is expected to miss Hartford on Friday. Dustin Daggett and Max Stambaugh are separated by just 12 points heading into the weekend, with Van Gurley, Jr and Corbin Gurley directly behind them. - Limaland & Montpelier On Tap This Weekend for Great Lakes Super Sprints
Merrill, MI - With one points-paying race in the books for the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP, the season rolls on with a huge doubleheader weekend in Buckeye country, and in the land of the Hoosiers. Limaland Motorsports Park is slated to open the 2026 season with GLSS on Friday, May 1st, while Montpelier Speedway welcomes GLSS alongside the Great Lakes Traditional Sprints on Saturday, May 2nd. A staple on the GLSS schedule, Limaland Motorsports Park has long played host to 360 Sprint Car racing. Friday's season opener for the track will be the 22nd contest held at the University of Northwestern Ohio playground. Many of Ohio's best have GLSS-sanctioned wins at the facility, including Devon Dobie, Jac Nickles, and Randy Hannagan. Other winners include Dustin Daggett, Dylan Westbook, and Tylar Rankin. But, only a select few have multiple GLSS wins at Limaland. Jared Horstman, who had a chance to go back to victory lane in 2025 as part of his seven-win season, has been held out of the win column at Limaland since winning a pair of events in his championship-winning 2017 season. Nate Dussel is part of the multiple-wins club thanks to his feature wins in June of 2023. Likewise, Creed Kemenah has two GLSS wins at Limaland to his credit from the 2023 season. Luke Griffith also had himself a multi-win season in 2023, grabbing wins in May and July. Only two drivers can say they've won more than two GLSS races at Limaland in their career, though. World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year contender, Kasey Jedrzejek has three feature wins to his credit, the first coming in July of 2024. The LaGrange, Ohio native added his second win Memorial Day Weekend last year, and picked up his third win on July 4th.The all-time GLSS wins leader at Limaland is four-time and defending Series Champion, Max Stambaugh. The Smith Motorsports driver grabbed his first career win in front of his home crowd on May 2nd of 2025, part of a four-win season in Lima and nine overall wins for the year. On Saturday, the sanction returns to Montpelier Speedway in Montpelier, Indiana for the first time in nearly a decade. In fact, Winged Sprint cars have been absent from Montpelier Speedway since the last Great Lakes Super Sprints' event in July of 2019. Jared Horstman grabbed the inaugural event on July 29, 2017, as part of an 11 win season for the two-time GLSS Champion. The next two shows, however, went to 2018 GLSS Champion, Dustin Daggett, with wins in July of 2018 and July of 2019. The Great Lakes Super Sprints take on Montpelier Speedway alongside the Great Lakes Traditional Sprints, who make their Montpelier Speedway debut on Saturday night. Due to cooler forecasted temperatures, racing at Montpelier Speedway is set to begin at 6:00 PM. As for Friday night at Limaland Motorsports Park, things are still scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM. - Crystal Clear Night! DeVault Sweeps GLSS Opener at Crystal
Crystal, MI - There are some nights that it seems everyone and everything is working against you. Then, there are nights where it seems nothing can go wrong, and all you have to do is hang on and celebrate. Saturday night with the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP, Plymouth, Indiana's Zane DeVault enjoyed the latter. Drawing a late bid in Ti22 Performance Qualifying, the Randerson Racing No.14 questioned what kind of qualifying attempt they would get when they rolled to the race track. That question was answered quickly when DeVault rocketed to the top of the board. The next lap? A new. Track. Record. 11.930 breaks Ryan Turner's track record from 2025 of 11.948. DeVault had no issues in his heat race either, finding victory lane in the opening heat race of the night. The only thing you could say didn't go perfectly for DeVault on Saturday night was the redraw, where he pulled the three. Clinton Boyles, who made his Great Lakes Super Sprints debut, and Jared Horstman led the field to green for the 25 lap main event. Horstman and Boyles wasted no time battling for the top spot, exchanging slide-jobs in the opening three rotations around the speedway. A pair of quick cautions kept the field close, but Horstman appeared to have the car to beat. On a restart, DeVault began making his charge, getting back to third around Dustin Daggett. In lapped traffic, DeVault and Boyles began closing in on Horstman when suddenly, Boyles' car slowed entering turn three and coasted to a stop, prompting another yellow. During that caution period, suddenly Jared Horstman exited the race track with what would later be explained as an engine failure, handing things over to DeVault. With 11 laps to go, DeVault set sail and opened up a straightaway lead on Daggett in the final laps, going on to collect the third GLSS win of his career, and first since October 6, 2024. The next event for the Great Lakes Super Sprints is Friday, May 1st at Limaland Motorsports Park and Saturday, May 2nd at Montpelier Speedway. Fans who can't make the trip can catch all the action LIVE on GreatLakesSprints.TV.
