Eldora Speedway Dirt Track News
- All eyes turn to Pennsylvania Motor Speedway for Saturday's Pittsburgher race
The Pittsburgher will determine the final four playoff drivers heading into the final race of the season at Eldora Speedway.
- EDDIE TAFOYA JR. BACK AT PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY THIS SATURDAY NIGHT
(Chino, CA, September 22, 2023) The 2018 Perris Auto Speedway Young Gun Sprint Car champion and 2019 USAC/CRA Rookie of the Year, Eddie Tafoya Jr., will be back on his old stomping grounds, Perris Auto Speedway, for the Glenn Howard Classic this Saturday night. It will be his first race back in So Cal since April. He will be staying on the home front to finish out the last five races in the USAC/CRA Series. Last offseason Tafoya, who lives in Chino Hills, California, announced his intention to spend much of the season competing in the toughest traditional sprint car series in the world, the USAC National Sprint Cars. That is just what he did. Following his original plans, he started the year in Florida and contested 20 races with the national group. Six other races were rained out and he ran two open shows. In addition, he contested three USAC/CRA races earlier in the year. Hitting so many new tracks, Tafoya was on what seemed like foreign soil. Yet, for the most part, he did not ask a lot of questions. "I mean, I don't really ask too many questions too often," Tafoya said. "I try to listen to people. I don't really go out of my way to ask questions. We just try to figure it out. I think that is a good way for me to learn. Just trying things. I have to figure out how to do these things and not have someone helping me all of the time and spoon-feeding me. It feels good when you get in the main and you know that you and your guys did it all by yourselves." Tafoya did not cherry-pick the easy races with the National Series for his 2023 schedule. In fact, it was quite the opposite. He opted in for races at Tony Stewart's Eldora Speedway, Iowa's Knoxville Raceway, the grueling Indiana Sprint Week, and Kokomo's Smackdown. Those tracks accounted for 14 of his 20 starts back there. They are some of the fastest, most competitive tracks in the country and they draw the toughest drivers. That level of competition can be very tough in more ways than one. Bent parts and broken pieces are one of the hazards of the game. However, the smooth-driving Tafoya managed to steer clear of the mayhem. That is a huge benefit to any racing program and a team's finances, too. "Knock on wood, so far, we have hurt one radius rod and one drag link, that was it," Tafoya said. "That was on the same night during Sprint Week. We have been pretty fortunate to keep our wheels clean this year. Last year or the year before we picked up a lot of speed and had some big crashes and wrecked our stuff. That kind of set us back for a couple months trying to figure things out and get the ball rolling again. When you can show up every night and keep driving it (without damage), it definitely benefits you in the long run." "I feel pretty good," Tafoya answered when asked if he was happy with the way things went on the national tour. "The nights I was good, I had bad luck or adversity. You know, I pulled a bad pill or we barely missed transfers. At Texarkana, I qualified 17th. Three-tenths would have put me in eighth place I think it was. Things like that. When you are competing at that level, things just kind of have to fall in place." In addition to the tracks Tafoya had competed on in the past, he was on some new ones this year. He thinks going to tracks he had never been to before helps. "I would say it helps with experience," he explained. "You see a lot of different stuff. When you come back to places you do know and there is something different, you can lean on your notebook and your memory bank. Maybe you have seen something like that before and can adjust for it." Tafoya closed out the USAC National Series portion of his season with races at the Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, and Texarkana 67 Raceway in Arkansas two weeks ago. He qualified for both main events through the heat races. At Devil's Bowl, he placed second in his heat. He started 22nd in the main on the big, fast track and drove forward to 18th. The first Texarkana race was rained out, but in the finale, he finished fourth in his heat and 20th in the main. For fans who want to see Tafoya and the other USAC/CRA stars in action on Saturday, the spectator gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with racing at 7:00. Adult tickets are $30.00. For fans 65 years of age and older, it is $25.00. For kids six to 12 it is just $5.00 and children five and under are admitted free. The fairgrounds charge $10.00 for parking. Advance tickets are available until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday night. They can be purchased online at tix.com or by calling 1-800-595-4849. For fans who do not wish to buy advance tickets, there will be plenty of tickets for everyone at the ticket window on Saturday. Perris Auto Speedway is conveniently located on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds (home of the Southern California Fair), one hour east of Los Angeles and one hour North of San Diego. To get to the track, take the 215 freeway, exit on the Ramona Expressway, and go three miles east to the fairgrounds. For directions online, the address to enter is: 18700 Lake Perris Drive and the zip code is 92571. The Specialty Fasteners #51T team is always exploring corporate partnership opportunities. If you or your company would like to be a partner with the hard-working sprint car squad, please contact Eddie Tafoya Jr. via phone at (909) 393-3999 or by e-mail at mailto:teamtafoya@aol.com. He will be happy to talk to you and lay out the team's plans. Tafoya's great-looking shirts and hoodies are available online at www.specialty-fasteners.com. Tafoya has a great YouTube channel at the following link https://www.youtube.com/shorts/1hrmC5L80EU. Fans can follow Tafoya on Instagram @eddietafoya51. - EDDIE TAFOYA JR. IS RACING IN TEXAS AND ARKANSAS THIS WEEK
(Chino, CA, September 5, 2023) Eddie Tafoya Jr. headed back to the airport on Wednesday to get ready for the USAC National Sprint Car Series races this week in Texas and Arkansas. On Thursday, September 7th, he will be at the famous half-mile high-banked Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas. He will then journey to Texarkana, Arkansas for races on Friday and Saturday at the semi-banked 1/4 mile Texarkana 67 Speedway. For Tafoya, it will be his initial appearance on each of the tracks. The driver, who lives 35 miles east of Los Angeles in Chino Hills, California, was slated to make his Devils Bowl debut on April 28th and 29th. However, those races, along with one at the Rocket Raceway in Petty, Texas the night before, were all rained out. He salvaged the wet trip by high-tailing it to the I70 Motorsports Park in Odessa, Missouri to finish seventh in a POWRi War Sprint Car Series race on April 29th. From there he headed northeast to the Eldora Speedway for his initial appearance on the famous high banks during the first week in May. On the western Ohio track, he qualified for both USAC National Sprint Car mains on the Tony Stewart-owned oval placing 18th and 19th. Tafoya made a couple of sojourns to Indiana over the past couple of months. The first came in late July when he competed in the grinding Indiana Sprint Week making the A main event at the legendary Terre Haute Action Track and the Bloomington Speedway. He concluded that trip with another main event appearance in a Boss race at the Paragon Speedway. Results from all of Tafoya's 2023 racing endeavors are at the end of this release. Not long after the Indiana Sprint Week trip, Tafoya returned to the "Hoosier State" for the prestigious 12th Annual Smackdown at "Indiana's Baddest Bull Ring," the Kokomo Speedway. As has been the case with Tafoya most of the year, the three nights of racing were in the USAC National Sprint Car Series. For the pleasant driver who turned 26 years old earlier in the season, things did not go the way he wanted at Kokomo. However, he is fired up and ready to compete in the world's premiere traditional sprint car series once again this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. After the conclusion of the Smackdown, Tafoya and the crew drove the team hauler to Texas for this week's race. They left it there and hopped on a flight home to California. They flew back to Texas Wednesday morning to get the car ready for this week's action. Even though he has not raced the full USAC National Series schedule, the personable driver is still 25th in the championship standings and is only 16 points out of 23rd heading into the three races. For fans not able to make it to Texas and Arkansas for the races, all three nights will be shown live on Flo Racing. - EDDIE TAFOYA JR. IS READY FOR 12TH ANNUAL SMACKDOWN AT THE KOKOMO SPEEDWAY
(Chino, CA, August 24, 2023) After a quick south-of-the-border vacation, Southern California sprint car racer Eddie Tafoya Jr. will contest one of traditional sprint car racing's biggest events, the 12th Annual Smackdown at Indiana's "Baddest Bull Ring," the Kokomo Speedway. The three-day show, which features the USAC Amsoil National Sprint Cars, will begin tonight, August 24th, and conclude on Saturday the 26th. The prestigious race will pay the biggest purse in Indiana sprint car racing history. For 26-year-old Tafoya, it will be his third appearance in the Smackdown. Two years ago he qualified into the A main event and placed 19th. Last season's efforts came to a premature end after he got tangled up in somebody else's mistake and got upside down. Recently, Tafoya got off to a slow start in the grueling Indiana Sprint Week missing the first four main events. However, he returned to form in the last three races of the eight-race series at the Terre Haute Action Track, Lincoln Park Speedway, and Bloomington Speedway. He improved on his qualifying times and transferred from his heat straight into the main event each night. In those three A mains, he placed 19th, 18th, and 19th respectively. The final night of Indiana Sprint Week was slated to take place at the Tri-City Speedway in Haubstaudt. However, ominous weather prompted the Chino, California-based team to hightail two hours south to a Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Car Series race at the Paragon Speedway. It was Tafoya's first BOSS race and his first appearance at Paragon. He came out of the box qualifying second in his eight-car group with a lap of 16.459. As well as being second in his group, he was 20th overall of the 42 cars on hand. He started and finished third in his heat. Unfortunately, a 15th-place start was followed by a 20th-place finish in the main. Even though the personable Southern California racer has only competed in 14 of the first 28 USAC National races in 2023, he is ranked 25th in the series standings going into the Smackdown. For fans who are not in Indiana to watch Tafoya at the Smackdown, all three nights will be shown live on Flo Racing. - EDDIE TAFOYA JR. BACK IN INDIANA FOR THE GRUELING INDIANA SPRINT WEEK
(Chino, CA, July 19, 2023) Southern California sprint car racer Eddie Tafoya Jr. returns to racing this coming Friday night when the 2023 NOS Energy USAC Indiana Sprint Week Presented by Honest Abe Roofing kicks off. The mini-series within the USAC National Series will see Tafoya race eight times, on eight different tracks in nine days. For Tafoya, who recently turned 26 years old, it will be his third sojourn east to compete with the USAC National Series this year. Making the decision to confine most of his racing to the Midwest-based series, Friday will be his 11th race of the season that commenced in Florida in February. In reality, it should have been his 20th start of the year. However, seven of the races on his schedule were knocked out by rain. Thus far he has made six starts with USAC National and has qualified for the A main four times. His best finish of the four was a 13th-place result at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida on February 14th. Closer to home, the Chino Hills, California habitant has started three races in the USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series. His best finishes in the west coast series came on his home track, Perris Auto Speedway, where he placed ninth on March 18th and eighth on April 15th. Tafoya started one other race in 2023 and that came at the I-70 Motorsports Park in Odessa, Missouri on April 29th. There he scored his best finish of the year when he came home in seventh. After his appearance at GAS City on the 21st, the 2019 USAC/CRA Rookie of the Year will race at the Kokomo Speedway, Lawrenceburg Speedway, and Circle City Speedway from July 22nd through the 24th. On the 25th, Tafoya and the other racers will get one night off to work on their cars, and get some rest. Starting up again on the 26th, it will be four straight nights of action at the Terre Haute Action Track, Lincoln Park Speedway, Bloomington Speedway and finally winding up at the Tri-State Speedway. Tafoya, the 2019 USAC/CRA Rookie of the Year, last appeared at Indiana Sprint Week in 2021. He made the main events at Terre Haute and Tri-State and finished 22nd in both. It should be noted that at Terre Haute, he had a good run going before getting clobbered on the back straight and knocked out of the race. After Indiana Sprint Week, Tafoya is slated to return to the Hoosier State for the 12th annual SmackDown at the Kokomo Speedway on August 24th, 25th and 26th. For fans who cannot make it to Indiana to watch Tafoya at Indiana Sprint Week, all eight of the races will be shown on live Flo Racing. For information on how to watch or subscribe, please visit the following link https://www.floracing.com/. The Specialty Fasteners #51T team is always exploring corporate partnership opportunities. - USRA Modified portion of Camping World SRX Thursday Night Thunder to be a non-points invitational
WHEATLAND, MO. (July 20, 2023) - Due to the unique nature of the Camping World SRX Thursday Night Thunder coming to Lucas Oil Speedway on Aug. 17, the supporting class for the event will have an invitational format. Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton has announced that the Cedar Creek Beef Jerky USRA Modifieds will be a Speedway Invitational. Track officials will select 20 drivers from the Modified class and those drivers will receive an invitation to participate in the $1,000-to-win Modified feature. "Because the Modifieds run early, there is a chance some drivers in the points standings might not be able to make it and I don't want them to lose points, so it will be an invitational with no track or USRA national points," Lorton said. The tentative schedule calls for USRA Modifieds hot laps at 2:10 p.m., heat races at 5 p.m. with the feature at 6:15. Track prep for the SRX portion of the show is set for 6:45 p.m. with the ESPN live telecast beginning promptly at 8. - Legends, Midwest Mods and Pure Stocks set for Thursday Night Madness at Lucas Oil Speedway
WHEATLAND, MO. (July 17, 2023) - Weeknight racing returns to Lucas Oil Speedway with a special Thursday Night Madness program with three unique divisions of cars scheduled to tackle the dirt oval. The INEX Legends Cars, POWRi Midwest Mods and POWRi Pure Stocks will be in action. The Midwest Mods and Pure Stocks will run for $300-to-win and the Legends' winner will earn $500. Pit Gates open at 4 p.m. with spectator gates at 5. Hot laps begin at 6:30 with racing at 7:05. "We're pleased to have the special guests classes coming in to race on Thursday night in what should be a fun program for the fans and the drivers," Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said. "The Legend cars came in a year ago and put on a great show and it's always competitive racing when we have the Midwest Mods and Pure Stocks." The Legend cars are particularly unique as they make their lone appearance of the season. The Legends are scaled-down versions of 1934 or '37 Fords or '37 Chevrolets, coupes or sedans. The cars may look similar to some of the Vintage cars that have competed at Lucas Oil Speedway, but they are different. "These cars are made to be equal," said Dave Comer of Joplin, who races and is parts dealer for the cars in addition to promoting the Legend cars. "It comes down to set-up or driver. Nobody is gonna out-money you. Every part you put on is the same as the other guy's got." Carson Brown of New London, N.C., won the Legends feature at Lucas Oil Speedway last July, holding off Dawson Sutton of Lebanon, Tenn., with Keelan Harvick of Charlotte, N.C., in third. A field of 34 cars was on hand and Comer expects a similar count this time, though young Harvick, son of NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick, is spending much of this summer racing in Europe. "I know we have a couple coming from Montana and possibly North Dakota," Comer said, noting this weekend marks the Missouri Iron Man weekend with action at Electric City Speedway in Butler on Friday and Saturday at Springfield Raceway also on the Legends schedule. Comer said some drivers to watch include Justin Comer, the winner of the Legend Dirt Nationals the last two years, Tyler Garretson from Centerville, Arkansas who was fourth in nationals last year and Jay Reynolds out of Springfield, a multiple-feature winner this season at Springfield Raceway. An added attraction on Thursday will be "Racing for a Cause" organized by Warren Ropp, a Legends racer out of Kalona, Iowa. Ropp will be organizing a "Back the Blue" donations drive on race night to benefit families of fallen law enforcement officers. Comer said the names of fallen officers will be on each Legend car as a tribute. Ropp also is adding money to the prize fund for the Legends, boosting the feature winner to $500 from the original $300. Formed in 1995, INEX was developed to promote, organize and sanction Legend Cars and Bandoleros for the United States, Canada, Australia, Asia and Europe. Since then INEX has expanded tremendously, running sanction races in Africa, Australia, Morocco and many other countries. INEX is the third-largest racing sanctioning body behind NASCAR and International Motor Contest Association (IMCA) with more than 3,500 members. INEX annually sanctions more than 2,500 races at more than 300 different tracks throughout the world. Typically a good qualifier, Gravel’s ended up in 33rd spot after time trials were compete, putting him on the pole for a heat race, but precariously close to missing the heat race inversion that ends at 36th position.
- 'Superman' soars: Dominant Davenport earns fourth CMH Diamond Nationals Presented by Summit Racing Equipment
WHEATLAND, MO. (July 15, 2023) - The rest of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series is on alert. "Superman" is heating up. Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Ga., picked up his 71st career Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series victory Saturday night - and second straight - capturing the 17th annual CMH Diamond Nationals Presented by Summit Racing Equipment. Davenport, who has earned the super hero nickname for his extended excellence in the sport, took home $15,000 and a diamond ring. He final the final 45 of 50 laps in his Longhorn race car and beat Devin Moran by 1.466 seconds for his fourth Diamond Nationals win and fourth Lucas Oil Speedway victory in 2023. More important, Davenport said he's settling into a winning rhythm after some inconsistent stretches early in the season left him lagging behind in the LOLMDS points chase. "We were stuck in our ways for a long time at the beginning of the year," Davenport said, noting the first portion of the season didn't measure up to his tremendous 2022 season of 24 feature wins and around $1 million in prize money. "That's the way this dirt late model racing goes. You can get too complacent and everybody catches up. "We went to work and normally that's what happens. You learn a whole lot more what not to do than what to do. But the guys never gave up on me. We've all been putting our heads together and we finally stumbled on some things that I like, so maybe we can keep it rolling from this." Davenport also won both preliminary nights of the Show-Me 100 in late May and the Lucas Oil MLRA Spring Nationals in early April. This time, he had a mighty scare late en route to the latest win at Wheatland. Davenport opened a three-second lead over Thornton by lap 37 when a caution for a slowing Spencer Hughes wiped out his lead, which at one time was four seconds. That set up a 13-lap shootout with Moran, Brandon Overton and Justin Duty following. Davenport executed a flawless restart and used clean air to quickly open a 1.1-second lead over Thornton with 10 laps to go. Thornton moved to the high groove, but lost another half-second to the leader, before he moved back to the inside in a search to cut into the lead. On lap 47, Davenport's lead more 2.5 seconds when he slightly clipped the slowing lapped car of Dustin Hodges on the front straightaway as Hodges turned to the infield. The scare was brief as Davenport was able to dodge the incident relatively unscathed and hang on for a 1.4-second victory over Moran with Thornton finishing third. "I couldn't believe it, really," Davenport said. "I messed up and he got away from me the lap before. I thought I could hug the bottom there and he would slide up again and I could get a good run on him. I don't know if something broke on his car. He might have seen the layover flag and he was just gonna pull off and turned left and I didn't have anywhere to go. "Luckily, my right front was far enough ahead of him that I didn't touch wheels with him and I didn't cut the right-rear down." Moran, who won the Show-Me 100 when Thornton was disqualified in post-race inspection, was able to make a last-lap pass to nab the runner-up spot. "Our Double Down Motorsports Longhorn was really good again," Moran said. "That's three seconds in a row. It's good to be up front, but I feel like I get on these second streaks and it sucks sometimes. "Congratulations to JD. He did a really good job. I just got held up in lapped traffic a little bit. All in all, the car was really good tonight." As for his strong showings at Lucas Oil Speedway this season, Moran said he's aware that his Show-Me 100 win has an asterisk. "We finished second here the first time, too. We're getting better and better and we passed Ricky tonight and the last time we were here, he checked out on us," Moran said. "I never really had a great track record here. I will say the track was awesome tonight. We raced all over it. Thornton settled for third with Overton finishing fourth and Chris Simpson fifth. Davenport took over the lead on lap five after Overton paced the early going. Davenport advanced from fourth to second by lap three and was challenging for the lead - and taking it - with and outside pass coming to the completion of lap six. Just three laps later, Davenport was ahead by 1.1 seconds and catching lapped traffic. Overton closed to the rear of Davenport's car by lap 15 with Moran just behind them as the top three were separated by a second as the race settled into a lengthy green-flag run. Suddenly, Davenport seemed to kick it up a notch and by lap 22 opened a 1.4-second lead over Moran with Overton slipping to third and Thornton in fourth. By lap 30, Davenport's lead had expanded to 3.3 seconds over Thornton, with Moran third and Overton falling to fourth. As the laps quickly clicked away, Davenport appeared to be in total command until the lap-37 caution set up the home stretch. Thornton set fast qualifying time with a 15.272 in Group B while weekly Lucas Oil Speedway Hermitage Lumber Late Model semi-regular Hodges paced Group A at 15.389. Middaugh cruises to another USRA Modifieds win: Cedar Creek Beef Jerky USRA Modified points leader Ryan Middaugh of Fulton led all 20 points, rolling to his fourth Lucas Oil Speedway feature win of the season. "The redraw can hurt you or it can help you," said Middaugh, who started on the pole. "Starting on the front row, it helped. Keeping Nic (Bidinger) behind me - I knew he was gonna be tough. But we had a really good car. The track was really good. "We're having a heck of a year. The car is three years old and it seems to be getting better." Middaugh opened a 1.8-second lead over Nic Bidinger by the halfway mark of the 20-lapper with Paden Phillips running third. The Lucas Oil Speedway season points leader and also the USRA national leader in points pulled away from there. Middaugh wound up 2.56 seconds in front of Bidinger with Phillips third, Jeff Cutshaw fourth and Jason Pursley in fifth. USRA Stock Cars win goes to Dimmitt: Waylon Dimmitt of Camdenton took over the lead on lap 10 and pulled away late to capture the O'Reilly Auto Parts USRA Stock Cars feature. While picking up his third victory of the Lucas Oil Speedway season, Dimmitt beat Johnny Fennewald by 1.8 seconds. "The track was good and slick and the cautions helped us out some," Dimmitt said after an event with seven cautions. Dimmitt started 14th but took over the lead midway through the 20-lapper. he was a second in front of William Garner when the final caution slowed the action on lap 12. Dean Wille rallied back to second by lap 14, but Dimmitt was pulling away and with the race staying green he was able to secure the win. Garner wound up third with Chris Dishong fourth and Ed Griggs in fifth. The 19-year-old Late Model rookie from nearby Urbana thrilled the local fans by winning qualifying heat races each of the first two nights before running sixth in the 100-lap finale. While he didn't win, McCowan certainly earned respect and showed he belonged. It meant a ton to his confidence and, while maintaining his lead in the Lucas Oil MLRA Sunoco Rookie of the Year chase, he's also branched out to run some more national-tour events since. "That weekend definitely opened our eyes and let us know we can do this," McCowan said of the Show-Me 100 experience. "We can have good runs with these guys and be up in the front. It takes a little luck. We ran out of fuel on white-flag lap. I think we would have ended up crossing the checkers in fifth, but ran out of fuel and ending up barely making it across. "I was super proud of my guys. They busted their butts and put me a good car out there. It was definitely a fun weekend." McCowan returns to Wheatland this Saturday looking to create more memories and momentum at the 17th annual CMH Diamond Nationals Presented by Summit Racing Equipment. The co-sanctioned Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and Lucas Oil MLRA event pays $15,000-to-win with a diamond ring also to the winner. "I've definitely been looking forward to this race and we're excited for it," McCowan said. "The car's been running really good here lately. The team is really coming together and I'm ready to get back over there. "If someone had told me back in January we'd have had the year we've had, I don't know if I'd have believed them. It's definitely been an amazing year, more than i ever expected. I knew we could do it, but it's been really good. I've been very thankful for the year we've had and the help we've had. "My guys have been working hard to put me in the best car out on the track. It's been really exciting. I've been looking forward to this my entire life and here we are now, out living the dream." McCowan said his confidence grows a bit more each time he competes with the Lucas Oil Late Model Series drivers. Last weekend, the team made the long haul to Minnesota for the three-night Gopher 50 and he was able to make the big show through a B-Main. He wound up 21st after getting caught up in an accident. The two time Cedar Creek Beef Jerky USRA B-Mod track champion and two-time Lucas Oil Speedway Most Popular Driver said veteran Late Model drivers have been nothing but "super cool and welcoming" to him. "It's really fun getting to race with those guys and learn. It makes me a better driver," McCowan said. "They may not know they're teaching me, but every time we hit the track they're teaching me something new." McCowan also is learning from Tim Douglas, who came aboard as crew chief at the Show-Me 100. Douglas had previously worked with veteran Late Model drivers Jason Papich and Tony Jackson Jr. "When Tim came on board, it definitely helped me a lot and helped our program," McCowan said. "He brings lots of knowledge. He's been there and done that and has helped me with driving, set-up on the car and everything like that." McCowan, who has aspirations to someday run the Lucas Oil Late Model Series full-time, said he's eager to hear his fans cheer on Saturday and calls their support something that's hard to put a price on. "The support over there when we go to Wheatland is second to none. That's our hometown track right there and we definitely like to put on a good show for them," he said. "When they're out there cheering, it means the world to me. It makes it 10 times more fun to put on a good show for them." Support classes on Saturday night will find the Cedar Creek Beef Jerky USRA Modifieds gunning for a top prize of $1,000 to win and the O'Reilly Auto Parts USRA Stock Cars will chase a $750 first prize.
