Schultz tops qualifying, wins his heat as 99 Super Stocks kick off 10th annual Big Buck 50 at Lucas Oil Speedway

WHEATLAND, MO. (Oct. 8, 2026) - Starting near the front is a key to winning any big race and Terry Schultz took the first step in that direction on Thursday night at Lucas Oil Speedway.

The veteran driver from Sedalia set fast qualifying lap at the 10th annual Hickamp Super Stocks Big Buck 50 Presented by Whitetail Trophy Hunt. Schultz had a lap of 17.591 seconds to lead Group A qualifiers and take home the $500 Fast Time Award presented by TJR Motorsports.

Tony Anglin of Walnut Ridge, Ark., led Group B time trials at 17.732 seconds as 99 Super Stocks checked into the pits for opening night of the Buck Buck 50. Schultz and Anglin also won both their heat races to put them into the dashes on Friday night.

Other heat-race winners included J.T. Carroll, Johnny Fennewald, Claudie Cook, Richie Tosh, Burl Woods and Blaine Ewing.

The Hickamo Super Stocks will have more qualifiers and dashes on Friday. It all leads to the $25,000, 50-lap feature on Saturday paying $25,000-to-win. The race has paid $10,000 to win in previous seasons.

Joining the Super Stocks this weekend will be the MARS Late Model Dirtcar Series in its first appearance in Wheatland in nearly 20 years. Twenty Late Models were on hand for practice on Thursday night.

The MARS drivers will have three practice sessions on Thursday with full programs Friday and Saturday with A feature winners earning $5,000 and $10,000 on those respective nights.
