- Mann, What a Race! Jett Mann Captures First Career GLSS Win at Butler Saturday
Quincy, MI - The second night of a doubleheader weekend brought some different drivers to the table, hoping to find victory lane with the MacAllister CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP. A mix of championship hopefuls and ringers looking for a win put on an intense show for fans at Butler Motor Speedway. Alongside Boston Mead, Jett Mann led the field to the green ahead of the 25-lap main event on Saturday night. Mann held off Dustin Daggett and Jared Horstman to lead the opening lap. Mead fought back into third behind Daggett putting Horstman back to fourth ahead of Chase Ridenour. The first caution flag of the night came out just four laps in when Phil Gressman spun at the bottom of turn one. On the restart, things remained relatively unchanged throughout the field until the halfway mark of the race when the leaders started working through heavy lapped traffic. On lap 15, Mann missed the bottom entering turn one, opening the door for Daggett to get to his inside. Daggett took the lead down the backstretch and now had the task of navigating lapped traffic. The pass for the lead allowed Boston Mead to work back into the conversation for the top spot. With eight laps to go, Daggett caught a piece of the tractor tire exiting the turn, which gave Mann a run going into three. Entering the turn, Daggett was taking a big arch to try to get under a lapped car, opening the door for Mann on the extreme bottom. The pair made contact and bumped side-by-side several times until the center of the corner, when Mann was able to drive away, and Daggett spun to the bottom of the track which was the preferred line. Daggett attempted to hit the spin cycle and drive out of the incident, but with heavy traffic coming into three, officials called a caution which sent the No.85 to the tail, setting up a final restart with less than 10 to go. Mann was able to hold off Mead and Jared Horstman for his first career GLSS Feature victory in just his second start since a vicious crash at I-96 Speedway in June. The next event for the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP is Friday, August 22nd from Ohsweken Speedway in Ontario, Canada, and Saturday, August 23rd from Buxton Speedway. Fans who can't make the trip can catch the action live on www.GreatLakesSprints.TV. Max Stambaugh set the Ti22 Performance Quick Time. Max Stambaugh won Engler Machine & Tool Heat Race one. - Lucky 7s! Horstman Earns 7th GLSS Win of the Season from 7th
Lake Odessa, MI - Nearly two-dozen cars were on the property Friday night at I-96 Speedway for the MacAllister CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP to kick off a doubleheader weekend of racing. After a couple weeks of struggles, Jared Horstman returned to championship form in an impressive performance. Scotty Thiel, the most recent winner at I-96 with GLSS, led the field to the green flag alongside 2016 GLSS champion, Chase Ridenour. Thiel jumped out to the early lead in turn one, but fifth starting Dustin Daggett was quickly on his heels going into turn three and nearly led the opening lap. A caution just three laps in set the stage for great racing inside the top five. From the seventh spot, Jared Horstman was methodically working up the ladder. Running fifth on lap five, calamity unfolded in front of Horstman when Chase Dunham and Chase Ridenour came together at the exit of turn four. The contact sent Dunham flipping into the catch fence on the front stretch and Ridenour pirouetting in the air. As the two were wrecking, Horstman caught a piece of the action with the nose wing of his No.17. Dunham and Ridenour were ok but unable to continue. As the field was refired after the red flag, Thiel's Ragged Edge Racing No.51 wouldn't lock into gear, prompting a trip to the work area and realigning Thiel at the tail of the field. That handed the lead over to Daggett, and thanks to the crash and Thiel's mechanical issues, Horstman was now in second. On the restart, Daggett was able to keep his distance from Horstman; anywhere from half a second to a second the advantage. With two laps to go, Daggett tried to pass a lapped car on the bottom of turns one and two, unable to complete the pass, Daggett lost all momentum and Horstman was able to get to his inside down the backstretch and complete the pass in three and four. The race wasn't over yet for Horstman, with Championship rival Max Stambaugh, who was running sixth, ahead of him, Horstman threaded the needle between the No.71H and the outside wall to put distance between himself and Daggett. Thiel rallied back to finish third, Ryan Ruhl fourth, and Mike Keegan completed the top five. The next event for the Great Lakes Super Sprints is Saturday, August 16th at Butler Motor Speedwya in Quincy, MI. The GLSS will be in action alongside the weekly 410 Sprint Cars. Fans who can't make the trip can catch all the action live on www.GreatLakesSprints.TV. Scotty Thiel won the Ti22 Performance Fast Qualifier Award Scotty Thiel won Engler Machine & Tool Heat Race one. Max Stambaugh won Beacon & Bridge Markets Heat Race two. - On Cloud Nine! Stambaugh Earns Ninth GLSS Win Saturday at Silver Bullet
Owendale, MI - In 2017, on his way to his first career Great Lakes Super Sprints Championship, Jared Horstman collected a record 11 feature wins. After Saturday night's event with the MacAllister CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP, Stambaugh is now within two wins of the record. Alex Clute and Phil Gressman led the field to the green flag ahead of 25 laps on Saturday night. Gressman jumped out to the early lead as Stambaugh and Mike Keegan hustled three wide around Clute. On lap 11 in heavy lapped traffic, Stambaugh found the outside of the race track which had been bottom-dominant all night long. Stambaugh ripped around Gressman down the backstretch before setting sail out front. Meanwhile, the rest of the top five were bumper-to-bumper trying to gain position. Gressman, Keegan, and Dustin Daggett negotiated the terms for the final rung of the podium amid thick lapped traffic. With less than five laps to go, Daggett moved into the second spot while Gressman held off Keegan and a charging Jared Horstman. At the finish, Max Stambaugh collected his ninth win of the season ahead of Daggett, Gressman, Keegan, and Horstman. With the win, Stambaugh moves into second on the all-time Great Lakes Super Sprints wins list with 27. He trails Horstman who has 31. Stambaugh extends his lead in the Tour Championship standings and closes in on Horstman for the MacAllister CAT Division with just four races remaining in Michigan and six on the Tour. The next event for the MacAllister CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints is Friday, August 15th at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan before going to Butler Motor Speedway on Saturday, August 16th. Fans who can't make the trip can catch the action on GreatLakesSprints.Tv. Michigan CAT A Feature 1 (25 Laps): 1. 71H-Max Stambaugh[3]; 2. 85-Dustin Daggett[5]; 3. 7C-Phil Gressman[2]; 4. - Howl at the Moon! Chase Dunham Wins First Career GLSS Race Friday at Hartford Speedway
Hartford, MI - In a season that has seen Jared Horstman and Max Stambaugh combine for 14 feature wins, a first-time winner didn't seem to be in the cards. Friday night, with a full moon in the sky, the only thing that was going to keep Dunham for finding Victory Lane with the MacAllister CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP, was himself. Starting on the outside of the front row alongside veteran Van Gurley, Jr, Dunham jumped out to a quick lead and put distance between himself and the field in a hurry. That scenario has been done by the No.66 car before, and the end result hasn't been what he's been hoping for thus far. With just six laps on the board, Dunham was working to the inside of lapped traffic at the exit of turn number four when he made contact with the inside wall with his left front tire. Somehow, Dunham was able to continue and didn't lose much time to Gurley and Stambaugh. Another potential race-losing moment came inside of 10 laps to go when Dunham's car stepped completely sideways entering turn three behind a lapped car. Dunham was able to straighten the car out but not before Stambaugh cut the gap down to just four car lengths. With eight laps to go, the only caution of the race flew for Keith Sheffer, Jr, who caught the wall in turn three and slowed to a stop on the front stretch. The caution was a potential break for Dunham who was falling to the grips of Stambaugh in traffic. However, Dunham revealed in victory lane that the car was overheating throughout that entire race including under caution. On the restart, Dunham put the No.66 on the top of the race track and set sail, holding off Stambaugh and Jared Horstman, who found the final rung of the podium with a two-for-one deal on Van Gurley and Corbin Gurley in turn two. Dunham successfully navigated lapped traffic for the final five laps and went on to collect his first career GLSS win, his first win since 2021. "I think it's about damn time," Dunham said in victory lane. "We led a couple of weeks ago at I-96 Speedway, we've been up front, it just feels like a thousand pounds has been lifted off of me. There's been no pressure from my dad or any of our sponsors, just me. I tried to give it away. The motor probably isn't great, I looked under that caution and [the temperature gauge] was about pegged, and [dad] told me to keep going. It's just me and my dad this weekend, but this is pretty damn cool." The next event for the MacAllister CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP is Saturday, August 9th at Silver Bullet Speedway in Owendale, MI. Racing begins at 7:00 PM. Fans who can't make the trip can catch every lap on www.GreatLakesSprints.TV. Chase Dunham set the Ti22 Performance Fast Time with a 14.936. Jared Horstman won Engler Machine & Tool Heat Race One. Van Gurley, Jr won Beacon & Bridge Markets Heat Race Two. Max Stambaugh won Miami Paint Heat Race Three. Jett Mann was the Operating Engineers 324 Hard Charger advancing eight positions. Michigan CAT A Feature 1 (25 Laps): 1. 66-Chase Dunham[2]; 2. 71H-Max Stambaugh[3]; 3. 17-Jared Horstman[6]; 4. 85-Dustin Daggett[8]; 5. 12-Corbin Gurley[5]; 6. 7C-Phil Gressman[10]; 7. 13-Van Gurley Jr[1]; 8. 20I-Kelsey Ivy[7]; 9. - Stambaugh Notches 8th GLSS Win, Opens Championship Lead Heading to Final Month
Crystal, MI - When the MacAllister CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP entered the weekend, Max Stambaugh and Jared Horstman were separated by roughly a dozen points for the GLSS Tour Championship. In the MacAllister CAT Division, Horstman held an over 100 point advantage for the Championship prior to Friday's race at I-96 Speedway. Now, after Saturday's race at Crystal Motor Speedway, the battles for Championship honors continue to peak interest. Ryan Turner, who set a new track record in qualifying earlier in the day, led the field to green alongside Stambaugh. Turner kept even with Stambaugh on the bottom of the track for the opening two rotations before Stambaugh's No.71H began clicking off big laps around the cushion. Behind him, Dustin Daggett and Keith Sheffer, Jr were on the move through traffic. Starting just outside the redraw, Daggett's No.85 rolled off 8th and was quickly into the top five along with Sheffer who started sixth. They raced nose-to-tail around Turner, Devon Dobie, and Jared Horstman. The race set a rapid pace, going green to checkered in just six minutes and 19 seconds. Stambaugh navigated lapped traffic flawlessly and fending off advances from Turner before his No.15 fell to Daggett in the closing laps. "You know, it just played out great," Stambaugh said in victory lane. "Rachel did a good job in the redraw and you know you get yourself here and set sail a little bit. Track was dicy, getting through traffic, I'm sure Daggett might have been closing there. I didn't want to get too careful but I didn't want to go too hard. This win tonight goes out to Anthony [Boyd] (GLSS Scorer). He's been around since 2016 and he just lost his mom, so you hate to lose a loved one, but this one goes to him." After the win, Stambaugh now holds a 65 point advantage on Horstman for the GLSS Tour Championship and moves into second, 70 points behind Horstman for the MacAllister CAT Division Championship. Stambaugh also holds a 135 point lead in the Ohio CAT Division Championship. The next event for the Great Lakes Super Sprints will be the conclusion of the Ohio CAT Division season at Eldora Speedway on Saturday, August 2nd. Fans who can't make the trip can catch the action on FloRacing. Ryan Turner earned the Ti22 Performance Fast Qualifier Award. Devon Dobie won Engler Machine & Tool Heat One. Jared Horstman won Beacon and Bridge Markets Heat Two. Keith Sheffer, Jr won Miami Paint Heat Three. Skyler Evans won the B-Main and was the Operating Engineers 324 Hard Charger. - Thiel Navigates Traffic and Cautions for GLSS Win at I-96
Lake Odessa, MI - When 'The Big Wheel' unloads at I-96 Speedway, he already has it in his mind that something is probably not going to go his way. Friday night with the MacAllister CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP, everything went exactly his way. Max Stambaugh and Chase Dunham led the 20-car field to the green flag, whittled down from the 29 cars on the property. Stambaugh led the opening two laps before Dunham put his No.66 to the point. While Dunham looked strong out front, lapped traffic allowed Thiel to close in quickly. On lap 10, the No.51 was out front. The race was far from over from that point, as Thiel had been in that position many times before; out front dominating a GLSS event, when something takes the win away. Behind him though, the battle to be in the top five was fierce, with Dustin Daggett, Stambaugh, Devin Dobie, Dunham, and Keith Sheffer, Jr, all fighting to stay in the top five. Daggett appeared to have the perfect car in traffic, coming from 9th to second in under 10 laps. By the time he got to the runner-up spot, Thiel had a 2.8-second advantage. With eight laps to go, the gap was erased when Jay Steinebach came to a stop down the backstretch. On the restart, Daggett pulled to Thiel's inside in turn one, but the top was too good, and Thiel pulled away down the backstretch and seemed to be on his way to victory lane. A caution flag with six laps to go for Sheffer set up another restart. Thiel had no issue on the start, however, and went on to collect his first career GLSS win and finally earned some redemption at I-96 Speedway. "I-96 in general for me has just been a knife in my back," Thiel said in victory lane. "We've had really really good runs back in the day, and then dumb stuff just happened. I knew I had some unfinished business when I signed up with this [Ragged Edge Racing] team, and we struggled a little bit a few times coming here, and we worked really really hard to make sure when we came back [we] not only win but go prove a point, mainly to ourselves." Daggett held on for the second spot and was very excited about the speed he found in his car that night in, which was actually the car Andy Teunessen had been driving. Daggett joked on the front stretch that he "didn't think Andy is getting his car back." The next event for the MacAllister CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints is Saturday night at Crystal Motor Speedway. Gates open at 4:00 PM with Racing set to begin at 7:00 PM. Michigan CAT A Feature 1 (25 Laps): 1. 51-Scotty Thiel[4]; 2. 85-Dustin Daggett[9]; 3. 71H-Max Stambaugh[1]; 4. 87XS-Skyler Evans[6]; 5. 17-Jared Horstman[17]; 6. 15-Ryan Turner[7]; 7. - WESTBROOK BECOMES ALL-TIME SOS WINS LEADER WITH BUXTON VICTORY
MERLIN, Ont. (July 12, 2025) - Dylan Westbrook had a record-setting night on Saturday at Buxton Speedway with the Southern Ontario Sprints series. The driver from Scotland, Ontario set a new single lap track record in his heat race and capped the night off with a victory that moved him to the top of the all-time SOS win list. Ryan Turner and Skyler Evans earned front row starting positions for the 25 lap A-Main, and Evans quickly opened a commanding lead. Westbrook moved forward and began to reel in the 14-year-old leader as traffic came into play. Westbrook took advantage when Evans slipped high in turn two and took over the top spot, while Evans later spun. Westbrook led the rest of the race unchallenged and took the 33rd Southern Ontario Sprints series feature win of his career. The win moved Rick Wilson to second on the all-time list after decades at the top. Turner took the runner-up spot, followed by championship leader Darren Dryden. DJ Christie recovered from trouble in his heat race to finish fourth, while Alex Bergeron rounded out the top five. Ryan Turner claimed the Ackland Insurance Quick Time Award and set a new Buxton Speedway time trial record in the process, while DJ Christie was The Drivers Project Hard Charger Award winner. Turner's lap of 13.348 seconds is the new time trial standard at Buxton, while Westbrook's lap of 13.138 seconds in his heat race is the fastest recorded at the Southwestern Ontario speedplant. - Horstman Handles Millstream, Earns Sixth GLSS Win of 2025
Many unknowns layed ahead of the 2025 season for the Ohio CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP, including who would rise to the top as a championship contender.
- Jedrjezek Defeats All Challengers for GLSS Win at Limaland
Lima, OH - Limaland Motorsports Park has treated Kasey Jedrjezek good and bad in the 2025 season. Friday night, the Lagrange, Ohio native got all the right breaks and collected his second win with the Ohio CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP of the season. Alongside Corbin Gurley, Jedrzejek led the 20 car field to the green flag on a version of Limaland that not many are used to; one that was pony up, full of character, and different on both ends. The battle to lead the first lap was intense as Jedrjezek, Gurley, and Chase Dunham went three wide down the backstretch. At the exit of turn four, it was Gurley and Jedrjezek still side-by-side for the lead. The pair made slight contact as Jedrjezek jumped out to the point. The first caution of the night flew five laps in when Frank Neil spun around entering turn one after jumping over the cushion. On the restart, Jedrjezek continued to lead as Dustin Daggett applied pressure on the podium while Gurley continued to try and stop the free fall from second. Near the halfway point of the race, Dunham found the quick way around Limaland, maintaining his gap to Jedrjezek in one and two, but gaining plenty of ground in three and four on the extreme top of the race track while Jedrjezek navigated lapped traffic. With six laps to go, Dunham had caught Jedrjezek and was working to make a pass to his outside off turn four. Dunham's car bounced into the front stretch wall and caught the crossover opening with the right front tire, ripping the front end out of his No.66, bringing his night to an end. In the final six rotations, Gurley drove his way back into the second spot, turning his fastest lap of the race with just four laps to go using a similar line that Dunham was using to try and take the lead. Gurley's drive to the front fell nine-tenths of a second short of his first win of the season. "I've gotta thank my guys, they gave me a great car all night," Jedrjezek said in victory lane. "We had a rough night last night, but this is a good way to rebound." The next event for the Ohio CAT Great Lakes Super Sprint is Saturday, July 6th for the quarter-mile special at Millstream Speedway alongside the Great Lakes Traditional Sprints and Dirt Trucks. Fans who can't make the trip can catch the action live at www.GreatLakesSprints.Tv. Kasey Jedrjezek was the Ti22 Performance Fast Qualifier. - Stambaugh Charges from Fifth for GLSS Win at Waynesfield
Waynesfield, OH - Three of Max Stambaugh's six feature wins in 2025 have come from the front row. Tonight, Stambaugh proved he can pass racecars to win as well, rolling off fifth for the 25 lap main event from Waynesfield Raceway Park. Jared Horstman and Kasey Jedrzejek led the field to green and the race was intense from the drop of the green flag. Horstman got the holeshot in turns one and two, behind him it was three wide for the third spot with Stambaugh, Jac Nickles, and Darren Dryden battling for the final step of the podium while Jedrzejek held down second. Stambaugh took the second spot at the line and went to work trying to catch Horstman. Meanwhile, Keith Sheffer, Jr, who started ninth, was battling with Jedrzejek for third as Nickles and Dryden fell back. With seven laps complete, Sheffer quickly closed in on Stambaugh and brought Jedrzejek with him, but a bobble on the cushion in turns three and four kicked Sheffer's No.14 sideways and Jedrzejek had nowhere to hide as he clipped the front of Sheffer sending the No.11N for a flip in turn four. All drivers were uninjured. On the restart, Stambaugh challenged Horstman for the lead but tucked in line. The race was slowed for a second time when Chase Dunham spun in turn one which ended his night. Dustin Daggett was on the move after the restart, putting his No.85 on the top of the race track to build momentum but making technical passes in traffic around the bottom. At the front, Stambaugh used the bottom of the race track as well to catch Horstman in traffic. With seven laps to go, the No.71H put his car to the front of the field; however, his journey to six wins wasn't complete yet. Kobe Allison spun at the top of turn four as the field was coming to the white flag, setting up a green-white-checkered finish. Stambaugh fired on the bottom of the race track and was committed to that line for the final two rotations. Horstman, on the other hand, tried to build as much momentum as he could on the top of the track but couldn't pull in Stambaugh who got the win. Daggett moved up five from his starting spot to finish third, Nickels fourth, Mike Keegan from 12th to round out the top five. "You know me, I like when the bottom comes in a little bit," Stambaugh said after the race. "Jared was spinning his tires off two and I think I got my wing back quicker than him, but I knew when that yellow came out, Jared would have something for me. I'm sure he went to the top [on the restart], I rolled the wing back and said 'He's gonna have to beat me around the top'." The next even for the Ohio CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP is Friday, July 4th at Limaland Motorsports Park for Firecracker Friday. Fans who can't make the trip can catch the action LIVE on www.GreatLakesSprints.Tv. Jared Horstman was the Ti22 Performance Fast Qualifier. - Tripleheader Ohio Weekend Ahead for Great Lakes Super Sprints
Merrill, MI - Celebrating 249 years of Independence, the Ohio CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP are headed into the Holiday weekend with three races and three tracks on the schedule. Waynesfield Raceway Park kicks off the weekend on Thursday, Limaland Motorsports Park holds the middle of the weekend on Friday, with the quarter-mile at Millstream Raceway wrapping up the tripleheader. In the first visit to Waynesfield Raceway Park in May, Devon Dobie dominated from the front of the field. Collecting his first win of the 2025 season, nearly 10 years to the day since his first career win, Dobie executed precision around "The Field of Speed" alongside timely cautions to get the win over Bryan Sebetto, Kasey Jedrzejek, Max Stambaugh, and Jared Horstman. Limaland Motorsports Park has hosted four GLSS races in 2025, three of which have seen Stambaugh go to Victory Lane. Jedrzejek was the lone driver who interrupted the Stambaugh winning streak back on May 23rd. As for Millstream Speedway, a trip to the quarter-mile awaits on Saturday after the first trip to the half-mile was cancelled in May. The Great Lakes Super Sprints were the first ever sanction to race on the quarter-mile when track conditions on the half-mile resulted in the event being moved to the quarter-mile. Zane DeVault, who won both visits to Millstream last season, held off Greg Wilson, Kasey Jedrzejek, Chase Dunham, and Narin Naida for the first ever Millstream quarter-mile win. The 2025 Championship Points battle remains tight for the Great Lakes Super Sprints Tour. Max Stambaugh and Jared Horstman both collected their fifth win of the season with wins at Tri-City and Crystal respectively. Horstman holds an 18 point advantage over Stambaugh heading into the weekend with Dustin Daggett third 181 points back. In the Ohio CAT Division, Stambaugh has a 106-point advantage on Jared Horstman, but the top six in points remain one night's full-points away from the lead. With 225 points available per night, Devon Dobie sits third 114 back, Phil Gressman fourth 168 behind, defending Ohio CAT Champion, Dustin Daggett sits 169 points behind Stambaugh, and Chase Dunham is 171 points back. Gates open at 4:00 PM on Thursday at Waynesfield, 5:00 PM Friday at Limaland, and 4:00 PM Saturday at Millstream. - Horstman Matches Stambaugh, Earns Fifth Win of 2025 with GLSS
Crystal, MI - As drivers with the MacAllister CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP unloaded at Crystal Motor Speedway on Saturday night, most were preparing for a track unlike what we'd seen to this point in the 2025 season. A track that slicked off through the center, had a small cushion up top, and a technical yet fast bottom groove, put on a thrilling show for fans! Mike Keegan and Jared Horstman led the field to the green flag ahead of the 25 lap main event. On the start, Horstman instantly found the moisture at the top of the race track and had the lead by the exit of turn two. Dustin Daggett moved into the second spot before the first and only caution of the night on lap five. On the restart, Horstman continued to use the top of the race track as his preferred line around the speedway. Meanwhile, Keith Sheffer, Jr was charging from his sixth starting spot and was on the tail of Daggett before setting up a slider that wouldn't clear, forcing Sheffer to regroup after losing several car lengths on Daggett. The top of the race track was fading fast in turns three and four, forcing Horstman to find the rough bottom of the track instead of missing his mark and going over the turn. Heavy lapped traffic brought Daggett and Sheffer back within striking distance in the final five laps, but Horstman was able to drive away once again as Sheffer completed the pass on Daggett for second. Keegan and Chase Dunham rounded out the top five. "This thing was awesome," Horstman said in Victory Lane. "I've gotta thank the crew for this one without them we wouldn't be here. The top got a little treacherous down there in two, and three and four got pretty narrow so I moved it back to the bottom. We were good. I think Max mentioned it last night, this is what this series needs. It's fun racing with Max every night… To go back and forth like this, this is pretty cool." Keith Sheffer, Jr earned the Ti22 Performance Fast Qualifier Award Sheffer, Jr won Engler Machine and Tool Heat Race Number One. Mike Keegan won Beacon & Bridge Markets Heat Race Number Two. After having a 12 point deficit coming into the night, Horstman leaves Crystal with an 18 point advantage in the Great Lakes Super Sprints Tour and opens up a 118 point advantage in the MacAllister CAT (Michigan) division over Dustin Daggett. Meanwhile, Stambaugh continues to pace the Ohio CAT division by 106 points over Horstman. The next event for the Great Lakes Super Sprints will be Thursday, July 3rd at Waynesfield Raceway Park for the Let Freedom Ring Night. Racing begins at 7:00 PM. - Stambaugh Prevails in Thrilling GLSS Champion's Duel at Tri-City Motor Speedway
Auburn, MI - Many drivers in the MacAllister CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP pit area had been looking for an opportunity to race a smooth, technical track this season. So far, many weekend visits have been hammer down and "pony up". But Tri-City Motor Speedway was just what the Doctor ordered. Max Stambaugh and Kelsey Ivy led the field to the green flag Friday night in front of a packed house in Auburn, MI. Stambaugh took hold of the race lead early while Mike Keegan and Dustin Daggett argued over who would hold down the second spot. After the negotiations for second fell to the liking of Daggett, he set sights on catching Stambaugh in lapped traffic. A defisit that was over 1.2 seconds at one point in the race, was quickly cut down to just four-tenths-of-a-second by the halfway mark. Dicing through traffic, Daggett used every ounce of race track he could find to try and get to Stambaugh's tailtank. As he was setting up a lapped car to get to Stambaugh, the caution flew with just seven laps to go. The pause in the action gave fans a chance to realize who else was now in the picture for a win - four-time feature winner, two-time GLSS Champion, and leader on the all-time wins list at Tri City, Jared Horstman. On the restart, Horstman went straight to the top of the race track while Daggett again went on the hunt for a quick line around Stambaugh, who remained committed to the bottom. Horstman went by Daggett on the top of the race track and but down six money laps trying to outperform his closest championship rival. At the finish, Stambaugh collected his fifth win of the 2025 season while Horstman kept the championship hunt tight by finishing second. Daggett held on for third, Chase Dunham climbed to fourth, and Gregg Dalman came home fifth. Stambaugh won the Ti22 Performance Fast Qualifier Award. Ivy won Engler Machine and Tool Heat Race number 1. Keegan won Beacon & Bridge Markets Heat Race number 2. Daggett won MacAllister CAT Heat Race Number 3. - Category 4 Hurricane: Horstman Wins Fourth GLSS Feature at I-96 Friday
Lake Odessa, MI - The MacAllister CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP were back in action at I-96 Speedway Friday night and all eyes were on the two-time GLSS Champion, Jared Horstman. So far in 2025, Horstman has been held out of victory lane in the Mitten State just one time; and the result was second. Rolling off alongside fellow Ohio driver, Jac Nickles, Horstman will technically get credit for leading all 25 laps around the track, but it wasn't a cake walk. Nickels gave everything he could to Horstman on the opening lap, in fact, the naked eye would struggle to accuratley say who led the opening lap at the line. Horstman settled into the top spot, but only for a moment before the first caution flag flew for Jay Steinebach who went up in smoke down the backstretch. Simultaneously, Mike Keegan and Scotty Thiel reported to the work area as the caution flew but were unable to return. Only three more laps were tallied before Chase Ridenour's No.38 lost power exiting turn two, drawing a yellow for the second time. Then, on the restart, Jett Mann made contact with the right rear of Ryan Ruhl, sending Mann for a wild flip off the top of turns one and two. Mann was reportedly checked and released from a nearby hospital after the crash. With 21 laps to go, the field was turned loose once again. Horstman held off Nickles who charged to the inside on the restart but couldn't get the run to get to the front. Meanwhile, Keith Sheffer, Jr, Dustin Daggett, and Max Stambaugh were in a tight battle that saw Sheffer go plus five on the night to finish on the podium yet again. Traffic would prove no issue for Horstman who cut through the backmarkers while maintaining his gap over Nickles. The win was the fourth of the season with GLSS and his 100th career sprint car victory. Dustin Daggett earned the Ti22 Performance Fast Qualifier Award. Daggett won the Engler Machine & Tool Heat Race 1. Horstman won Beacon & Bridge Markets Heat 2. Jac Nickles won MacAllister CAT Heat Race 3. Andy Tuenessen won the Operating Engineers 324 B-Main. Zac Broughman was the Hoosier Racing Tire Hard Charger gaining seven spots. - Price Miller pays tribute to Jamie Miller with Waynesfield All Star win
WAYNESFIELD, OHIO - You couldn't have scripted what happened Thursday, June 19 at Waynesfield Raceway Park any better. Bernie and Betsy Steubgen, owners of Indy Race Parts, wanted to pay tribute to one of their dear friends, Jamie Miller, who owned sprint cars over the years and who passed away in January. The Jamie Miller Memorial race was created and took place at Waynesfield as part of the Overwatch Precision Ohio Sprint Speedweek Presented by Gill Construction featuring the Napa Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champions Presented by Valvoline. The feature event was paced by the legendary Jac Haudenschild who drove Jamie's cars off and on for several years. The outcome? Bernie and Betsy's car, driven by Park Price Miller of Kokomo, Indiana, snagged the win worth $7,506 - the six was Miller's sprint car number. Price Miller took the lead from Kalib Henry on lap six and held off a late race charge from Danny Dietrich in lapped traffic to earn his fourth career All Star win. Last year's Speedweek Waynesfield winner Cale Thomas came home third with Tim Shaffer and Ryan Smith rounding out the top five. "This one is for Jamie Miller. Bernie and Betsy were tight with him. Everyone knows how good of a guy Jamie was. He would do anything for you. He did the graphics on my cars and on Bernie's. This is very special to all of us. My guys made some changes after the dash and this thing drove like a Cadillac," said Price Miller beside his Indy Race Parts/Garrett Racing Engines backed #71. For Dietrich, it was another second place run after having been nipped at the line by Thomas the year before. "Second sucks. I keep running second here. I love coming to the Field…there's just nothing like it. I thought I might have a shot in traffic but I made one mistake and it cost us," said Dietrich beside his Weikert's Livestock, Speedway Cars, Sandoes Fruit Market, Gary Kauffman Racing backed #48. In the Midwest Thunder D2 USAC Midgets feature, Troy, Ohio's Bryce Massingill took the lead with just two laps to go and drove to the win. "Me and Luke (Hall) have battled at everyone of the four races we have had this year. It was a super technical track tonight but JB (Jakeb Boxell) showed me the line to run," said Massingill. The All Stars head to Moler Raceway Park Friday, June 20 and wrap up Ohio Sprint Speedweek at Atomic Speedway Saturday for the Dean Knittel Memorial paying $26, 554 to win. Waynesfield Raceway Park will be back in action Thursday, July 3 for the Let Freedom Ring Night featuring the Great Lakes Super Sprints 360 winged sprint cars, the DIRTcar UMP Modifieds and the Dirt Track Truck Series. - Back Home Again in Michigan; Great Lakes Super Sprints Head to Hartford and Butler
Merrill, MI - The Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP (GLSS) are headed back to the place it all started with a pair of stops in Michigan this Friday and Saturday night. Southwest Michigan's, Hartford Speedway hosts GLSS for the one and only show at the uniquely shaped Speedway on Friday, before Michigan's home for Sprint Car Racing, Butler Motor Speedway, welcomes in the 360 Sprint Cars for the first of two scheduled stops this season. The weekend trip is an exciting one based on what fans saw last season. Each facility was featured in the GLSS Top 10 races of 2024 countdown from the off-season. Hartford is known for being fast and technical with a different shape and grove in turns one and two than what is featured in turns three and four. Drivers know they need to be careful entering turn three or calamity could strike. In the spring visit to Hartford in 2025, Phil Gressman held off Max Stambaugh and Jared Horstman for the win. In August, a completely different crop of drivers was at the front; Keith Sheffer, Jr earned the win over Dustin Daggett and Kelsey Ivy. Hartford Speedway also welcomes the Super Troopers and Cyber Stocks for Friday night's racing. On Saturday, Butler Motor Speedway has a dual sprint car feature with GLSS serving as the headliner and the weekly 410 Winged Sprint Cars alongside. Butler was the number one show in 2024 according to the countdown with intense racing throughout the field in both shows last year including slide jobs, lapped traffic, and hair-raising moments while battling for position. Corbin Gurley earned his first career GLSS win last spring at Butler with an impressive move through lapped traffic to get around Phil Gressman and then Max Stambaugh for the win. In August, Kasey Jedrzejek pulled a massive slidejob after a restart to get by Dustin Daggett for the win. Keith Sheffer, Jr moved through for second with Daggett falling to third. DIRTcar UMP Modifieds and Compacts are also on Saturday night's schedule. Tickets for each event this weekend in Michigan are available at the gate on race day. Racing is set to begin each night at 7:30 PM. Fans who can't make the trip can catch all the action LIVE at www.GreatLakesSprints.Tv. - Three-Time Champ, Stambaugh Earns Third Lima Win of 2025 with GLSS
LIMA, OH - The Ohio CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP showed up to a version of Limaland Motorsports Park that produced intense racing throughout the entire night. After four different leaders of the race, Elida, Ohio native, Max Stambaugh found GLSS victory lane for the third time this season at his home track. Corbin Gurley and Luke Griffith led the field to green in the setting sun Friday night after a day filled with overcast skies and moments of drizzly rain. Gurley jumped out and led the first lap, but a hard-charging Jared Horstman came from sixth to take the lead on lap two. While Horstman raced away quickly to lapped traffic, the battle raged on for third through sixth as Phil Gressman, Kasey Jedrzejek, and Max Stambaugh all argued for realestate around the track. While that was going on, Horstman slapped the wall down the backstretch while trying to set-up a pass on lapped traffic, which allowed Gurley to chase down the two-time GLSS Champion. As Gurley was setting up the pass, the right front tire went down entering turn one and Horstman's No.17 came to a stop at the top of turn two. A trip to the work area to change the tires brought Horstman back onto the race track. On the restart, Gurley and Gressman raced hard for the lead, and it proved to be important as Jedrzejek was challenging for the lead entering turn three and clipped the opening in the wall to exit the track. While his No.11N didn't flip, the damage ended Jedrzejek's night. The leader at the last completed lap was Gressman. With 14 laps to go, Gressman brought the field back to life. Stambaugh made his move around Gurley to take the second spot as Gressman was catching lapped traffic. With five laps to go, Stambaugh and Gressman exchanged lanes on the track like trading cards. Finally, Stambaugh got to Gressman's inside in traffic and officially took the lead with two laps to go. Carving his way through traffic, Stambaugh opened up his advantage and held on to collect his third win at Limaland and fourth of the season. Gressman held on to second, Gurley third, Noah Dunlap fourth, and Dustin Daggett fifth. "First off, Horstman was on a roll," Stambaugh said in victory lane. "We got her trucking so I didn't lift, I can promise you that. We might have got her a little hot tonight, but this is my third win at Lima this year - you dream about [stuff] like this as a little kid." The next event for the Ohio CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints is Saturday, June 7th at Lawrenceburg Speedway. Advanced tickets are available online at GreatLakesSuperSprints.com. - Stambaugh wins GLSS Kahle Memorial at Limaland
The Ohio CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP showed up to a version of Limaland Motorsports Park that produced intense racing throughout the entire night. After four different leaders of the race, Elida, Ohio native, Max Stambaugh found GLSS victory lane for the third time this season at his home track.
- Great Lakes Super Sprints Head for Limaland and Lawrenceburg
Merrill, MI - The Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP (GLSS) are geared up for a doubleheader weekend with a pair of events for the Ohio CAT division this Friday and Saturday night. The action begins Friday at Limaland Motorsports Park for the Ron Kahle Jr. Memorial before heading down to Lawrenceburg Speedway for the loan stop in southern Indiana this season. The first three races at Limaland have seen just two different winners so far. Hometown driver and three-time and defending GLSS Champion, Max Stambaugh, took the first two appearances at Limaland with wins on May 2nd for the Ohio CAT Division opener and then again on Saturday, May 16th during the Run for the Rabbit, Stambaugh's first. On May 23rd, Kasey Jedrzejek made his first appearance of 2025 with GLSS and made it count, holding off a hard-charging Nate Dussel, on his way to victory lane for the first time this season. In 2024, Lawrenceburg Speedway hosted nearly 30 cars in the first-ever visit for GLSS. Jedrzejek set fast time in the final group of qualifying turning in a 13.371. Some top names in 360 Sprint Car racing had to come through a B-Main, including Randy Hannagan, Phil Gressman, and Jared Horstman. In the A-Main, Danny Sams III, who started fourth, trailed Jedrzejek through the early part of the race, which saw several cautions on a technical race track. Jedrzejek and Sams were nearly involved in their own caution when they collided in turns three and four while working lapped traffic. The hit, which was significant, flattened Jedrzejek's tire and resulted in a solo spin in turn two. Sams went on to collect the win over Stambaugh and Hannagan, who was the hard charger, gaining 15 spots. The Championship battles are good entering the month of June. In the Ohio CAT division, Stambaugh holds a 65-point advantage over fellow Ohio driver Horstman, and a 68-point advantage over the most recent GLSS winner, Devon Dobie. Meanwhile, the battle to become and overall Tour Champion is tight. Just three points separate Stambaugh from Horstman entering the weekend. Tickets for Friday's event at Limaland Motorsports Park are available at the gate on raceday. Advanced tickets for Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday are available online at www.GreatLakesSuperSprints.com. Fans who can't make it to the track can catch all the action online at www.GreatLakesSprints.Tv.
- Dobie Dominates Waynesfield Sunday for Great Lakes Super Sprints Win
Waynesfield, OH - The Field of Speed played host to the Ohio CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP on Sunday night and speed was the name of the game as Devon Dobie outlasted the field for the second GLSS sanctioned win of his career. With 22 cars on the property, Dobie had a full field of heavy hitters to contend with on Sunday afternoon. A fast-paced program put the 25-lap main event on the track while the sun was still over the tree tops in northwestern Ohio, which could have played a factor throughout the race. Dobie led the field to green alongside Brian Sebetto and jumped out to a quick lead. Much like Friday night's show, as the field would make it to lapped traffic, a caution would fall, stunting the progress of Sebetto and Kasey Jedrzejek, who tailed Dobie. A few single-car incidents slowed the field throughout the night, but the biggest issue was on lap six when Chase Dunham and Keith Sheffer, Jr came together on the frontstretch and sent Dunham flipping down the frontstretch. Dunham was ok but his night came to an end. Sheffer was able to continue. Restarts weren't a problem for Dobie who mixed up his launch points and kept Sebetto on his toes. The final restart of the race came with just three laps to go and it was a non-issue for Dobie who held on for his first win of the season. Sebetto took second ahead of Jedrzejek, Max Stambaugh, and Jared Horstman. "Coming up on 10 years that we won our first 360 feature here," Dobie explained. "It's always special to race here anyway, but any chance we get to race here is usually special in front of a home town crowd. The track was absolutely amazing all night tonight. Traffic here is tough, it's so narrow, the sun was actually really blinding coming through the middle of three and four, so you couldn't see great coming off of four. But you know you can't slow down too much with guys like Brian Sebetto behind you." The next event for the Great Lake Super Sprints is Friday and Saturday, June 6th and 7th with stops at Limaland Motorsports Park on Friday, June 6th and Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday, June 7th. - Dobie gets GLSS win to open Waynesfield season
WAYNESFIELD, Ohio - It was nearly a decade ago that Devin Dobie from nearby Wapakoneta, Ohio scored his first sprint car feature win and it was at Waynesfield Raceway Park. Dobie celebrated that anniversary Sunday, May 25, leading all 25 laps of the Great Lakes Super Sprints feature on Salute to Our Heroes Night to kick off the 2025 season at "The Field." "I consider this my home track. After last season it didn't look good for the future of Waynesfield. Thankfully Rich Farmer stepped up. The track was amazing," said Dobie beside his Ritchey Auto Center/Ferris Commercial Mowers/3G Customs/D&M Fencing/Brown's Heating Cooling, Plumbing and Electrical, Walter & Sons, Watts Farms backed #23. Dobie had to survive a hand full of restarts, holding off Bryan Sebetto and Kasey Jedrzejek for his second career GLSS win. "I knew I had to change things up on each restart. I lost a couple of races because I kept doing the same thing on restarts," said Dobie. In the UMP Modifieds, Lima, Ohio's Jeff Koz charged from his sixth starting spot to take the lead from Dusty Moore with just five laps to go to score the win. In the Dirt Pro Trucks, it was a father and son battle throughout the feature with the son, Joey Heyder, holding off several challenges from his dad Rolly for the victory. Waynesfield Raceway Park will be back in action as part of the NAPA Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champions Presented by Valvoline Ohio Sprint Speedweek on Thursday, June 19 for the Jamie Miller Memorial. The Midwest D2 Thunder Midgets will also be in competition. Go to www.waynesfieldmotorsportspark.com or follow the track on Twitter and Facebook for more information. - Dobie gets GLSS win to open Waynesfield season
It was nearly a decade ago that Devin Dobie from nearby Wapakoneta, Ohio scored his first sprint car feature win and it was at Waynesfield Raceway Park. Dobie celebrated that anniversary Sunday, May 25, leading all 25 laps of the Great Lakes Super Sprints feature on Salute to Our Heroes Night to kick off the 2025 season at "The Field."
- Jedrzejek Jump Starts 2025 with GLSS Win at Limaland
Lima, OH - Although Mother Nature did her best to ruin the Memorial Day Weekend of racing for the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP, all she did was create a thrilling Limaland Motorsports Park on Friday night for the Memorial Cup. A total of 25 cars rolled into the Speedway on a cool Friday night. Once the preliminaries were settled, Jared Horstman and Kasey Jedrzejek led the 20 car field to green ahead of a 25 lap contest. Jedrzejek was able to use the outside starting spot to his advantage taking the lead from Horstman down the backstretch. Horstman refused to lay over easily, though, throwing a huge slider in three and four. Jedrzejek crossed him over and led the opening lap. Seven laps later, the red flag was displayed when Jac Nickles' No.31 flipped into the catch fence down the backstretch, tagging a passing Dustin Daggett in the process. Nickles, while unharmed, was finished for the night. Daggett attempted to repair his No.85 in the work area but couldn't get the car back together in time to rejoin the field. The red was timely for Jedrzejek, who was in heavy lapped traffic and being tracked down by Horstman. On the restart, Jedrzejek pulled away from Horstman again, but the battle was around the fifth spot. Nate Dussel, who started seventh, moved up to third on the restart while Phil Gressman, Zeth Sabo, and Ryan Coniam battled for the top five. Just after the halfway mark, as the No.11N was again reaching lapped traffic, Mike Keegan was turned head-on into the outside wall and collected Caleb Helms in the process. Keegan's night was done, and Helms continued after a visit to the work area. With 7 laps to go, Horstman attempted to slide Jedrzejek for the top spot in turns one and two but couldn't complete the pass. Dussel capitalized and made the move for the second spot while trying to reel in the leader. Dussel couldn't close and instead had to defend Horstman for second in the closing laps. Jedrzejek picked up the win, his first of the season, Dussel second, then Horstman, Stambaugh, and Sabo. "I seen Jared poking his nose on the bottom a couple times," Jedrzejek said in Victory Lane. "Even there at the end of the race, I seen somebody in three and four. Lapped traffic was a lot tougher than I thought it was going to be going into the feature. The way the track was, it was just so dominant on the top it was hard to beat it." The win is Jedrzejek's first of the season and his seventh all-time with GLSS. Jedrzejek also won Engler Machine & Tool Heat Race Number One. Devon Dobie won Howard Johnson of Lima Heat Race Number Two. Max Stambaugh won Miami Paint Heat Race Number Three. Phil Gressmon was the Ti22 Performance Fast Qualifier. The next event for the Great Lakes Super Sprints is Sunday, May 25th at Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield, OH. The originally scheduled event at Millstream for Saturday, May 24th has been cancelled. - Tripleheader Weekend on Tap for Great Lakes Super Sprints
Merrill, MI - The Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP are geared up for a tripleheader weekend as summer unofficially begins with Memorial Day Weekend. The best 360 sprint car drivers in the Midwest will converge on Limaland Motorsports Park Friday, Millstream Speedway Saturday, and Waynesfield Raceway Park on Sunday. The third appearance this season at Limaland Motorsports Park opens the door for someone to try and take down the three-time and defending GLSS Champion, Max Stambaugh. The Smith Motorsports No.71H found Victory Lane in dominating fashion in the first two visits of the season after starting on the front row and leading every lap. Dustin Daggett and Mike Keegan eyed Stambaugh in the May 2nd contest, while Jared Horstman and Chase Dunham chased Stambaugh during last Friday night's contest. Millstream Speedway is set to host the Ohio CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints on Saturday night for the first race in Findlay, Ohio this season. On the historic 4/10ths mile oval, GLSS teams will try to navigate the fast track for just the second time in history. In October of 2024, Zane DeVault launched from the pole in his Lane Racing No.44 alongside Phil Gressman. DeVault went on to hold off Kasey Jedrzejek and Van Gurley, Jr for the win. Alongside GLSS on Saturday, the Great Lakes Traditional Sprints Presented by MacAllister CAT will also be in action - this will be the first time GLTS has contested an event on the 4/10ths mile at Millstream. Ricky Lewis held off Korbyn Hayslett in August of 2024 on the inside track for the first GLTS win at Millstream. Sunday, "The Field of Speed" welcomes GLSS for the first time in 2025. Waynesfield Raceway Park hosts the first event of the 2025 season on Sunday with the high-flying GLSS alongside DIRTcar UMP Modifieds and Dirt Pro Trucks. In three visits last season, Jedrzejek outdualed Dustin Daggett for the win in July, Gressman found victory lane in August, and Nate Dussel went to GLSS Victory Lane in October. Advanced tickets for Saturday and Sunday's shows are available online at GreatLakesSuperSprints.com. Fans who can't make the trip to the track can catch the action all weekend long online at GreatLakesSprints.Tv. For more information on the Great Lakes Super Sprints, visit www.GreatLakesSprints.com.
