Attica Raceway Park Dirt Track News
- Carson Macedo wins wild Brad Doty Classic at Attica
ATTICA, Ohio - Leading the 37th Annual Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic Presented by dac® Vitamins and Minerals Tuesday at Attica Raceway Park wasn't easy. The race featured five different lead changes and at the end of the 40 laps it was Lemoore, California's Carson Macedo scoring the $15,000 payday for his first Brad Doty Classic victory. There was an old saying in the early days of the Brad Doty Classic - the driver leading at lap 30 did not win the race. That held true Tuesday except three different drivers lead the final 10 circuits. Buddy Kofoid lead the first seven laps of the race with Kyle Larson leading laps 8 and 9 before Kofoid regained the lead and looked headed to the win. But, Kofoid was the first driver to fall victim to the turn four cushion on lap 31. Sheldon Haudenschild then took over and also appeared to be heading to victory lane until turn four bit him as well on lap 36. Macedo led the final four laps for his sixth World Of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink win of 2025 aboard his Jason Johnson Racing/Albaugh Your Alternative/Mesilla Valley Transportation/Tarleton & Son/Saich Family/Scott Boyd Family/Complete Parts/Border International backed #41. Macedo, whose brother Cole who won the High Limit race the previous night at Fremont Speedway, now has six career wins at Attica Raceway Park. Kofoid, Donny Schatz (from 16th), Logan Schuchart and Larson rounded out the top five. "A lot of the race I really didn't know where to be. I was just kind of went where I felt the most decent. I was playing a lot of defense…I felt like you had to get really good runs off the corners to get away from somebody not to actually run the top on either end without somebody dirtying up your line and getting in front of you. A lot of races at Attica get won or lost in the last stages of the race. I just really tried to pace myself," said Macedo. A scary incident during the Micro-Lite Last Chance Showdown resulted in Kalib Henry being transported via helicopter to a Toledo Hospital. Attica Raceway Park, the World of Outlaws and all the race teams and fans are praying for Henry's recovery. Attica Raceway Park will be back in action Friday, July 25 with the All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads/Kistler Racing Products Attica Fremont Championship Series presented by the Baumann Auto Group 410 sprints, the Real Geese Decoys/Real Capz AFCS 305 Sprints and the Dirt Nerds Podcast Powered by Propane UMP Late Models in action. - Carson Macedo Claims Wild Brad Doty Classic
You name it, and it likely happened at the 2025 Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic presented by dac Vitamins and Minerals. Tuesday night at Attica Raceway Park will be one fans are talking about for a long time. Four different leaders. Charges through the field. Intense battles for the top spot. Leaders spinning. Once the green flag flew, the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series action was endless.
- Cap Henry gets 3rd Fremont win; Stroup earns 305 victory; Valenti gets 6th straight truck win
FREMONT, Ohio - With several big events coming up in the region with national touring series and stars in winged 410 racing in competition, Cap Henry is serving notice the "regular" drivers at Fremont Speedway are ready for the challenge. Henry scored his third win of the year at Fremont Speedway Presented by Gill Construction Saturday, July 5 on Willie's Sales and Service Pack the Stands Night. Henry, who started sixth in the 30-lap Fort Ball Pizza Palace 410 Sprint A-main, took the lead from Zeth Sabo on lap nine and drove to his 24th career win at "The Track That Action Built." It is his seventh overall victory of 2025. Sabo, Chris Andrews, Bryce Lucius and Joel Myers Jr. rounded out the top five in front of a standing room crowd. The win also pads Henry's lead as he looks to claim a second straight All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads/Kistler Racing Products Attica Fremont Championship Series Presented by the Baumann Auto Group. Henry finished second on Friday in the AFCS event at Attica Raceway Park, getting passed on the last corner of the last lap while leading. "I couldn't really see the scoreboard the last couple of laps and I got boxed in there in turn three coming to the white flag and I messed up getting in three and I had no momentum and I thought here we go again. I got to that moisture spot off of four and just matted it. I really proud of these guys. Zack (Meyers) was just turning knobs and wrenches in staging right before the race. Usually that means it's going to be really good or really bad and he got it right," said Henry beside his Premier Planning Service, Jeff Ward Demolition, Ohio Logistics, Primal Tee Shop, Innovative Excavating, Elliott's Custom Trailers and Carts, FK Rod Ends, King Racing, Griff's Engines; Berryman Racing Shocks, Callie's Performance Products, Dyers, Power Cool Manufacturing, SCS Gearbox, Tony Elliott Foundation backed #33W. Fremont, Ohio's Dustin Stroup spun late in the race Friday at Attica as he tried to get the win. He redeemed himself Saturday at Fremont, taking the lead on lap 14 and driving to his first victory of the year at Fremont in the Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprints. It's his 13th career win at the track. Paul Weaver led the first 12 laps before Steve Rando took over for a lap with Stroup taking the top spot a lap later. A late race caution with just three laps to go gave Rando a shot at the leader but Stroup drove away to the win, his third overall in 2025, over Rando, Weaver, Jamie Miller and Seth Schneider. Miller's fourth place run adds to his lead in the Real Geese Decoys/Real Capz AFCS standings as he looks to repeat as the series champion. "I had a little fire under my ass tonight. Me and Jamie (Miller) raced real hard last night at Attica and coming down for the white flag I made a mistake. I was pretty ticked off about it. Tonight we got it done," said Stroup beside his Pizza House Clyde, Mama Dukes TRP, GCE LLS., Myer's Racing Engines, Midwest Dyno Services, Sulphur Town Pub, The Bowman Family, Warwick Entertainment, Bobby's Truck, Auto and Bus Repair, Wear A Print LLC, TME Services, Advance Auto Parts, Eye Candy Custom Cycles #10X. Fostoria, Ohio's Shawn Valenti took the lead from Dustin Keegan on lap seven of the Burmeister Trophy Dirt Truck A-main and drove to his sixth straight win at Fremont after opening the season with a runner-up finish. The four time truck track champion sits atop Fremont's all-time win list with 88 career victories. Valenti had to deal with heavy lapped traffic the last third of the feature but he held off Jamie Miller with Keegan, Kent Brewer and Scott Milligan rounding out the top five. "I wasn't sure which way I needed to go and luckily I picked the right holes…I about got held up here on the last lap in three. Heck of a crowd here tonight and hopefully we put on a good show for them," said Valenti beside his Craig Miller Trucking, Conrad Transportation, Dave Story Equipment, A Plus Auto Center, Smolders Speed Concepts, Holman Drilling, S&S Hauling and Excavating #7B. Fremont Speedway will be back in action Saturday, July 12 for Crown Battery Night with the 410 and 305 sprints and dirt trucks on Date Night. The Kubota High Limit Sprint Car Series will be at The Track That Action Built Monday, July 14 with NASCAR star Kyle Larson and series stars Rico Abreu, Aaron Reutzel, Brad Sweet and others in action. - Lucius executes last lap, last corner pass for Attica 410 win
ATTICA, Ohio - Bryce Lucius - just 18 years of age - looked like a seasoned sprint car driving veteran Friday, July 4 at Attica Raceway Park. Lucius, in just his third year racing a 410 sprint car, waited until the last lap to diamond off the exit of turn four and drive under Cap Henry to score the victory by just .037 seconds on Sutton Bank/Heidelberg Materials Fan Appreciation Night. Lucius, who started eighth in the 30-lap, $4,500 to win Callie's Performance Products 410 Sprint feature, moved up to fifth on the opening lap as Trey Jacobs lead over Cap Henry, Cole Duncan and Jordan Ryan. Henry took the lead on lap five as he eyed his fifth win of the year at Attica. As Henry continued to lead, Lucius, the 2023 national 410 rookie of the year, moved into second with 10 laps to go. Lucius used lapped traffic to close on Henry with just give laps to go, setting up the last lap, last corner pass for the his third career Attica win. Henry, Jacobs, Duncan and Zeth Sabo rounded out the top five. "I don't even know what to say. Drew, my dad, Brian, mom, Kyle…everyone had be good all night. I really could go anywhere I needed to. I knew I had to wait until lapped traffic. I messed up a couple of laps before and I let him (Henry) get back away from me. Entering turn three I just pulled the wing back and never lifted," said Lucius beside his Truck Worx of Ohio, Jackos Sprint Parts, Smith Titanium, Big Red Truck Wash, Integrity Auto and Trucks Bucyrus, XR-1 Race Cars, STP Motorsports #32. Henry, who hasn't finished out of the top three in eight of the nine races at Attica in 2025, builds on his lead in the All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads/Kistler Racing Products Attica Fremont Championship Series Presented by the Baumann Auto Group as he looks to add a fourth series title. Greg Haskell, from Chatham Ontario, Canada, has been making the long tow to Attica Raceway Park week after week, year after year. All that effort and patience finally paid off as he took the lead in the Dirt Nerds Podcast UMP Late Model A-main on lap three and held off several late race challenges from defending track champion Kyle Moore to score his first ever Attica victory and first win in the United States. The non-stop 25 lap feature saw Moore, who won the previous two late model features at Attica, come home second with early race leader Mike Bores third, Collin Shipley fourth and Ryan Missler rounding out the top five. "I didn't even know where to go or what to do after winning. That was the longest last five laps of my life. I was waiting for Devin (Shiels) or Kyle to fly by. I've been coming here for a long time and I vowed to keep coming here until I get a win. We lost one of our good buddies this past winter to cancer and this one is definitely for him. I didn't know if we would ever get this win. The lapped cars seemed to be everywhere and I didn't really know what I was doing. I was just letting the car go wherever it wanted to and hoping it would stick. Kyle Moore is not going to be happy that he told me one of his secrets last week. I think that really helped. I love this place and keep coming back," said Haskell beside his L&M Racing, Haulin' Haskells Performance Fiberglass & Marine, Kent Home Hardware, Moran Family Dentistry, Tye Tworg Racing, Tru Form Performance, Alley Bar and Grill, Appledore Farms, Dig R. Wright #RH21. Jamie Miller is having another one of those dominant seasons in the Fremont Fence 305 Sprint division. The Fremont, Ohio driver and defending Attica champion took the lead from Dustin Stroup on lap 13 from his sixth starting position and drove to his fifth win of the year at Attica. Miller, who now has 10 overall victories in 2025, moved to fourth on Attica's all time win list with 50 checkers in his career. It wasn't easy as Stroup used heavy lapped traffic to stay within striking distance of Miller but as they raced to the white flag, Stroup jumped the cushion and spun. Miller drove away the final two laps for the win over Paul Weaver, Dustin Dinan, John Ivy and Seth Schneider. Miller also pads his lead in the Real Geese Decoys/Real Capz Attica Fremont Championship Series as he looks to repeat as the series champion. "This is just an unbelievable year. The engines are working great, the car is handling great and we're having a ton of fun," said Miller beside his Boca Construction, JLH General Contractors, Kenny Kolb Farms, Tuck Pointing America, Queen of Clean, Smitty's Pizza, Roberts & Sons Contracting, Pizza Wheel, Crown Battery, Pub 400., Reedtown Tavern, Fostoria Mod Shop, Sandy's Dad, Gressman Powersports, Phil Rister, Slade Shock Technology backed #26. - Lucius executes last lap, last corner pass for Attica 410 win
Bryce Lucius – just 18 years of age – looked like a seasoned sprint car driving veteran Friday, July 4 at Attica Raceway Park. Lucius, in just his third year racing a 410 sprint car, waited until the last lap to diamond off the exit of turn four and drive under Cap Henry to score the victory by just .037 seconds on Sutton Bank/Heidelberg Materials Fan Appreciation Night.
- Henry capitalizes of Andrews' misfortune for Attica win; Moore gets 2nd late model victory; Stroup earns 305 win
ATTICA, Ohio - The old adage sometimes it's better to be lucky than good summed up what happened to Cap Henry at Attica Raceway Park Friday, June 27 on Ohio Laborers/Columbus Equipment Company/Impact Credit Union/Buckeye Pumps Night. Henry, the defending Attica 410 Callie's Performance Products champion, inherited the lead with just three laps to go when race-long leader Chris Andrews slid off the cushion in turns one and two and spun. Henry, from Republic, Ohio, drove to his fourth win of the year at Attica, his sixth overall victory of 2025 and the 24th of his career at the track. Sixth starter Kalib Henry, seventh starter Kasey Jedrzejek, 10th starter Tim Shaffer and Zane DeVault rounded out the top five. "I was watching Chris run that thing harder and harder and I tried picking up the pace and couldn't match it. I started seeing him make mistakes and I thought maybe….we got lucky. It was Chris' race to win. I felt we could match his speed but passing him was a whole other problem. I'm really proud of my guys. We tore up a bunch of stuff during speedweek. Zack got this car fixed from Waynesfield and put everything back together with Jeff and Gary back at the shop and Chris and Chad at the track and all the wives and girlfriends that help everything work," said Henry beside his Premier Planning Service, Jeff Ward Demolition, Ohio Logistics, Primal Tee Shop, Innovative Excavating, Elliott's Custom Trailers and Carts, FK Rod Ends, King Racing, Griff's Engines; Berryman Racing Shocks, Callie's Performance Products, Dyers, Power Cool Manufacturing, SCS Gearbox, Tony Elliott Foundation backed #33W. The Dirt Nerds Podcast Powered by Propane UMP Late Model feature saw Mike Bores lead the first lap before former track champion Devin Shiels took over. Kyle Moore, who started sixth, drove into the lead on lap 12, sliced through heavy lapped traffic and scored his second straight win at Attica. It was the defending track champion's eighth career win at Attica and his second consecutive victory aboard his Kepling Flooring, Tye Tworg Longhorn, Joyride Transportation, Smitley Towing, Short Stop, Malcuit Race Engines, Wilson Realty, Robin Jakubick, RL Bond Septic, Hepthorn Golf Cart Sales, House of Spud, K&B Septic Service, Coffman Composites, Team Midwest Paint, Platinum Design backed #1*. Shiels, 10th starter Ryan Markham, Bores and Greg Haskell rounded out the top five. In a race that saw three cautions at the beginning before a lap could be recorded, Dustin Stroup lead all 25 laps of the Fremont Fence 305 Sprint A-main for his second victory of the year at Attica. It was his 10th career victory at the track and came over John Ivy, Steve Rando, Seth Schneider and 18th starter Jamie Miller. "That race took forever. I think on those last couple of laps I was running out of fuel. Coming off of two when I'd get off the gas and get back in it she kind of spit and sputtered. I can't thank everyone enough…my mom and dad, my girlfriend Katie, my kids and all my sponsors and everyone who still believes in this family owned 10x team," said Stroup beside his Pizza House of Clyde, Mama Dukes TRP, GCE LLS., Myer's Racing Engines, Midwest Dyno Services, Sulphur Town Pub, The Bowman Family, Warwick Entertainment, Bobby's Truck, Auto and Bus Repair, Wear A Print LLC, TME Services, Advance Auto Parts, Eye Candy Custom Cycles backed sprint car. Attica Raceway Park will be back in action Friday, July 4 for Fan Appreciation Night featuring $15 general admission, $1 hotdogs, 50-cent popcorn, a driver meet and greet and fireworks. - Racing icon Bert Emick passes away
FLORIDA - The dirt track racing community lost an icon Thursday, June 26. Former head of the All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Car Series Bert Emick passed away at Halifax Hospital in Daytona, Florida after a brief illness. He was 84-years-old. Emick was surrounded by his loving wife Brigitte, whom he married in 1962, and his daughter Kristi. Bert often said his greatest accomplishment in life was taking care of "his girls." His heart was filled with gratitude for the love and respect of the racing community and he was so looking forward to attending the All Star reunion in September and he will be watching from above. Born in Columbus, Ohio, to Betty and Bert "Pop" Emick Sr., Bert became interested in auto racing through his father who enjoyed racing photography as a hobby. Bert later joined his father as a photographer by the time he was in his early 20s. Bert began his working career in the automobile service industry, eventually owning his own muffler shop in 1975. Because of his upbringing, Bert and Brigitte were regulars at races in Ohio and the surrounding states in the 1960s and 1970s. Bert and Brigitte had racing photo stands at tracks in Ohio and West Virginia in the mid-to-late 1970s. The All Star Circuit of Champions was formed in 1970 by C.H. "Bud" Miller with partners Paul Waite, William Baieri and George Yobe. Eleven races were run in 1970, mostly 100 lappers on Wednesday nights in New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio, each paying $1,000 to win. Ralph Quarterson won the first All Star point title over Bobby Allen, Lee Osborne and Lou Blaney. Due to Miller's business commitments, no All Star events were contested in 1971 or 1972. However another season began in 1973 with 11 shows scheduled with Jan Opperman winning the series title. Because of those early All Star successes and the renewed enthusiasm in "outlaw" sprint car racing generated by Ted Johnson's World of Outlaws in 1978, racing photographer friends Jerry Clum and Emick decided to start their own series in 1979. Five events under the Midwest Outlaw Super Series (MOSS) were held in Ohio and West Virginia with Dub May winning the point title. Bert got involved because of his admiration for the grass-roots, low budget traveling racers. Bert's goal was to help these type of racers out with good purses without a lot of travel. By 1980 the MOSS series was growing quickly with 22 events scheduled and the addition of a MOSS late model series. Bert sold his muffler shop that year. MOSS events paid $2,000 to win with a point fund champion taking $10,000 claimed by Bobby Allen and Jim Dunn taking the late model title. However, unbeknownst to Bert and Jerry, a track promoter who had booked MOSS events in 1980, copyrighted the name and following an unsuccessful battle in court, the duo lost the MOSS name. Bert rededicated himself to the sport and the All Star Circuit of Champions moniker was used again starting in 1981 for both the sprint car and late model series. An All Star Board of Directors was created with Bert and Brigitte at the helm. As the series grew, Bert turned over the day-to-day operations of the late model series to Bill Moore in 1982. The late models series declined in the early 1990s before being disbanded in 1993. In 1983 Ohio Sprint Speedweek was started featuring six races in six nights under the All Star Circuit of Champions banner. The brainchild of Eldora's Earl Baltes, speedweek has been imitated in several other regions. In fact, Attica Raceway Park kicks off the annual Ohio Sprint Speedweek with the Bert and Brigitte Emick Classic each year. Bert gives all the credit for the growth in purses and points funds for the All Stars over the years to his wife, Brigitte who worked tirelessly on financials, statistics and running the series souvenir trailer. She was always at Bert's side. Bert was loved and respected by drivers, car owners, track promoters and the fans. He was voted the inaugural recipient of the National Sprint Car Poll's Outstanding Contribution to the Sport Award in 1985 and has been ranked in the top five of the most influential leaders in the sport every year since the poll's inception in 1991. He was inducted into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in 2000 and the Fremont Speedway Hall of Fame in 2012. A memorial will be held at a later date and a full obituary is pending.
- Henry, Miller, Valenti continue to roll at Fremont Speedway
FREMONT, Ohio - Cap Henry held off several challenges Saturday, June 7 at Fremont Speedway Presented by Gill Construction on Vision Quest Night to score his second 410 sprint win of the season at "The Track That Action Built." Henry, a former Fremont track champion, took the lead of the 30-lap Fort Ball Pizza Palace 410 Sprint A-main from Nate Dussel on lap five then held off challenges from eighth place starter Kasey Jedrzejek and Zeth Sabo to take earn his 23rd career win at the track. Jedrzejek, who crashed hard the previous night at Limaland Motorsports Park challenged Henry many times and also had to hold off Sabo to earn second with DJ Foos and last week's Fremont winner Brock Hallett rounding out the top five. Earlier in the night Jedrzejek put a halt to Henry's fast times in qualifying - he had five in a row to open the year - earning a $570 bonus. For Henry, the win was his fifth overall in 2025 having also scored three wins at Attica Raceway Park. He also added to his point lead in the chase to repeat as the champion of the All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads/Kistler Racing Products Attica Fremont Championship Series Presented by the Baumann Auto Group. "It was pretty hard to pass. The first green flag run I felt pretty good and the second one I knew I wasn't making good enough time but didn't know what to do. We got that last caution (with 11 laps to go) I could tell guys were running the bottom and I looked over my shoulder and saw Kasey running the bottom so that confirmed I needed to run the bottom. I tried to execute as good as I could. I was a little unsure. The car was good. We put a new engine in this week that Gary (Griffith) did for us and we had to figure some quirks out at Attica but I'm really happy," said Henry beside his Premier Planning Service, Jeff Ward Demolition, Ohio Logistics, Primal Tee Shop, Innovative Excavating, Elliott's Custom Trailers and Carts, FK Rod Ends, King Racing, Griff's Engines; Berryman Racing Shocks, Callie's Performance Products, Dyers, Power Cool Manufacturing, SCS Gearbox, Tony Elliott Foundation backed #33W. Defending Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprint track champion Jamie Miller showed patience pays off. The Fremont, Ohio driver took the lead from Brenden Torok on lap 17 of the 25-lap affair and drove to his third victory of the year at Fremont, the 55th career win at the track. Miller, who has four wins at Attica Raceway Park as well, has not finished out of the top three all season at Fremont. Torok, who lead laps 1-16, settled for second ahead of last week's winner Matt Foos, Jimmy McGrath and Steve Rando. Miller adds to his lead as he looks to repeat as the champion of the Real Geese Decoys/Real Capz Attica Fremont Championship Series. "I was just back there pacing myself, felling the track out. I could see the bottom was really good if I could run the tires without running them over. The race went on and the fuel burned off and I trunked the wing and kept getting better and better," said Miller beside his Boca Construction, JLH General Contractors, Kenny Kolb Farms, Tuck Pointing America, Queen of Clean, Smitty's Pizza, Roberts & Sons Contracting, Pizza Wheel, Crown Battery, Pub 400., Reedtown Tavern, Fostoria Mod Shop, Sandy's Dad, Gressman Powersports, Phil Rister, Slade Shock Technology backed #26. Fostoria, Ohio's Shawn Valenti held off opening season winner Kent Brewer to score his fifth straight feature win in the Burmeister Trophy Dirt Trucks. In fact, after running second to Brewer on opening night, Valenti has remained undefeated. Valenti's win - the 87th of his career at Fremont to stand atop the track's all-time win list - was even more special as his truck owner Jeff Bacock was inducted prior to the night's racing into the Fremont Speedway Hall of Fame. Brewer, Jamie Miller, Keith Sorg and Dustin Keegan rounded out the top five. "I got the lead early but wasn't sure where to be. I think my best lap was after the checkers. I have to thank Jeff Babcock for everything he's done for me and it was an awesome day to stand up here and get his award earlier," said Valenti beside his Craig Miller Trucking, Conrad Transportation, Dave Story Equipment, A Plus Auto Center, Smolders Speed Concepts, S&S Hauling and Excavating #7B. - Ryan gets 1st 410 Attica win; Moore stops Schlenk's win streak in late models; Schneider hangs on for 305 win
ATTICA, Ohio - Jordan Ryan has been so close to a 410 sprint car win at Attica Raceway Park over the past several years, only to see a late race pass or a mechanical issue arise. The Bellevue, Ohio resident finally expelled the demons Friday, June 6 on Burns Electric/Smith Family Foods/Ohio Contractors Association Mid-Season Championship Night to score his first 410 sprint car win at "Ohio's Finest Racing" speed plant. The victory in the Callie's Performance Products 410 Sprints is Ryan's 10th overall victory at Attica as the former track 305 sprint champion had nine feature wins in that division. Despite leading all 30 laps for the $4,000 pay day, Ryan had to execute a couple of perfect restarts to take the win over TJ Michael, Cap Henry, Bryce Lucius and Brock Hallett. "Finally! We've run second here so many times and led a lot of laps in a 410 here. We made a lot of changes to this car over the past week and it paid off. I can't thank the Russell family enough for giving me this opportunity to race and all the hard work from my dad and Matt and everyone involved in this. The car was fantastic tonight. I said a prayer to my buddy Prince (Evans)…I know he was looking down on me," said Ryan beside his Joy Ride Transportation, Meggitt's Sandblasting, Ernst Tire Recycling, Cole's Energy, Troy Sapp & Kerri Deel Realtors, Lil Craft Barn, Burn's Electric, Oscars Auto body backed #25R. Henry's third place finish will pad his points in his pursuit of a second straight All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads/ Kistler Racing Products Attica Fremont Championship Series presented by the Baumann Auto Group title. Defending Attica Dirt Nerds Podcast Powered by Propane UMP Late Model champion Kyle Moore from Mansfield, Ohio finally put an end to Rusty Schlenk's win streak at Attica. Moore led all 25 laps of the feature and held off several challenges from Schlenk to score his seventh career Attica late model win. Schlenk, who won the first six features at the track in 2025, settled for second with Devin Shiels, Collin Shipley and Jeff Warnick rounding out the top five. "The track has thrown us a curve every week we've been here. We were finally able to put together a complete night," said Moore beside his Kepling Flooring, Tye Tworg Longhorn, Joyride Transportation, Smitley Towing, Short Stop, Malcuit Race Engines, Wilson Realty, Robin Jakubick, RL Bond Septic, Hepthorn Golf Cart Sales, House of Spud, K&B Septic Service, Coffman Composites, Team Midwest Paint, Platinum Design backed #1*. Fremont, Ohio's Seth Schneider survived a broken Jacobs ladder after contact with the front stretch wall when a lapped car came down and hit him and went on to earn his second Fremont Fence 305 Sprints feature win of the year at Attica. Schneider had to hold off a charging John Ivy for his third career win at Attica with Matt Foos, Jamie Miller and Jimmy McGrath rounding out the top five in the 25-lap non-stop feature. "I knocked the ladder off of it when Bateson hit the front stretch wall and that made me really tight and that's when I went to the bottom. It was the only place I could steer at. I'm surprised no one passed me…it was pretty bad. The lapped cars moved up high enough where I could get under them. The RCF Chassis has been bad ass," said Schneider beside his Josh Kromers Seamless Gutters, Commercial Glazing Systems, Overwatch Precision, Level Performance, Level Utilities, Sandusky Bay Remodeling backed #36. Miller's charge from eighth to fourth will add to his point lead in the Real Geese Decoys/Real Capz Attica Fremont Championship Series champion as he looks to repeat as the series champion. Attica Raceway Park will kick off the 43rd Annual Ohio Sprint Speedweek on Friday, June 13. The Bellevue, Ohio resident finally expelled the demons Friday, June 6 on Burns Electric/Smith Family Foods/Ohio Contractors Association Mid-Season Championship Night to score his first 410 sprint car win at "Ohio's Finest Racing" speed plant.

- Schuchart out duels Haudenschild for first Attica World of Outlaws win
ATTICA, Ohio - Logan Schuchart and Sheldon Haudenschild had a fantastic battle at Attica Raceway Park Saturday on Kistler Engines Night. The duo swapped the lead in the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series feature several times before Schuchart was able to drive away to his first ever win at Attica. Haudenschild, from Wooster, Ohio, lead laps 1-9 with Schuchart, from Hanover, Pa. taking over for laps 10-17. Haudenschild regained the top spot for laps 18-24 with Schuchart executing a slide job to retake the lead on lap 25. Schuchart survived several cautions and an open read in the last 10 laps to score his second World of Outlaws win of 2025 and his 44th career victory with "The Greatest Show on Dirt." "Sometimes it's better to be running second there for a little bit. There at the beginning I felt like I wanted to be able to follow him (Haudenschild) through traffic and kind of see what felt better. It's just tough when you are leading to be able to know when to move and where to go. I knew I could really run the top hard and Sheldon just didn't know that with the restarts that I could get a run up there. Great race with Sheldon…I know I'm not the hometown favorite but it really means a lot to me to get a win at Attica. It's a place I really struggled at in the past and got going last year. It's a hometown win for Brendon Collum so happy to get a win for him," said Schuchart beside his Drydeene-Duramax/Federated Auto Parts/C&D Rigging backed #1S. "This is just kind of gaining on it at this track, getting a notebook and getting better for when you come back. Last year I thought we were running down David (Gravel) in traffic for the Doty before we had ignition issues. We did some stuff tonight we wouldn't normally do, trying to change our way of thinking especially after last weekend at Ohsweken where we were just totally out to lunch. What used to work there in our notebook didn't. It's a fine line of going back to your notebook and giving yourself a starting point but not just being set in stone that's not what we're going to do. Use your teammates, use the people around you who help you out…I've got some smart minds around me and I have to go out and do my job," added Schuchart. For the second time in his career, Haudenschild had to settle for a runner-up finish at Attica. It is his fourth podium finish at the track with the World of Outlaws. "Hats off to Ripper and the boys. The car was really good all night. I don't think we knew where to go on those restarts. He chose the top and I was able to get him and on those other restarts I kind of protected turn three and left the door open one time. It feels good to be fast and up front every night," said Haudenschild beside his NOS Energy Drink/West Tennessee Expediting/Frozen Farmer/Maxima Oil backed #17. Leduc, Alberta, Canada's Skylar Gee scored his first ever podium finish with the World of Outlaws, bringing his Warrior Building Development/Building Packages Direcxt/Nelson Bros Construction/Pack Rat Dumpster #99 home in third. "This is huge. I felt like the only mistake I made during the entire race was the initial start. I was kind of wheeling it all over the place and Sheldon got by and Logan got by. I felt like I could pace it pretty good. We're just missing a little something," Gee said. Giovanni Scelzi an, Conner Morrell rounded out the top five for the 26th appearance of the World of Outlaws at Attica Raceway Park. Fremont, Ohio's Seth Schneider held off several challenges in lapped traffic from Jamie Miller to score his first win of the year at Attica in the Fremont Fence 305 Sprints. Schneider, who scored a win the previous week at Fremont Speedway, led all 25 laps for his second career Attica victory. Miller, Steve Rando, Shawn Valenti and 17th starter Paul Weaver rounded out the top five. "This is an absolute blast…I'm having a great time. The car was fast all night. The lapped cars were just everywhere…I couldn't even pick and choose where I needed to go and the next lap they would be in the same spot. I got lucky with the yellows….good luck is finally going my way for once," said Schneider beside his Josh Kromers Seamless Gutters, Commercial Glazing Systems, Overwatch Precision, Level Performance, Level Utilities, Sandusky Bay Remodeling, RCF Chassis #36. - Henry gets 3rd 410 sprint win at Attica; Schlenk remains undefeated in late models; McGrath conquers 305 sprints
ATTICA, Ohio - Cap Henry survived a one-lap shoot-out to score his third 410 sprint win of the year at Attica Raceway Park, Friday, May 16, on Norwalk Concrete/Bucyrus Road Materials/Palmer Bros. Concrete Night. To say Henry, from Republic, Ohio, is dominating at Attica is a vast understatement as he looks to score his fourth career track title. He has three wins, a second and a third in the five Callie's Performance Products 410 Sprint A-mains at the track this season. His 23rd career 410 win at Attica also increases his point lead in the All-Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads/Kistler Racing Products Attica Fremont Championship Series Presented by the Baumann Auto Group as he also looks to score his third series title. "Zack made all the right adjustments. The track was completely different that we've seen all year. We kind of went back to the speedweek show last year on set-up," said Henry beside his Premier Planning Service, Jeff Ward Demolition, Ohio Logistics, Primal Tee Shop, Innovative Excavating, Elliott's Custom Trailers and Carts, FK Rod Ends, King Racing, Griff's Engines; Berryman Racing Shocks, Callie's Performance Products, Dyers, Power Cool Manufacturing, SCS Gearbox, Tony Elliott Foundation backed #33W. Nate Dussel led the first two laps as ninth starter Henry bolted into third on the first lap and drove to the lead on lap three. After a caution on the start, the race didn't see another caution until lap 29, setting up the one-lap shoot-out. At that point Henry had built a 4.2 second lead. He got a great restart and drove to the win over Dussel, Sebetto, 15th place starter Zane DeVault and Justin Clark. A bounty may have to be placed on Rusty Schlenk. The McClure, Ohio driver took the lead on lap two and drove to his sixth straight win in the Dirt Nerds Podcast UMP Late Model A-main to remain undefeated at Attica in 2025. Schlenk's 49th career late model win at Attica came over Kyle Moore, Gregg Haskell, Mike Bores and Ryan Missler in the non-stop 25 lap feature. Schlenk's supporters on the #91 include Buckeye Concrete Coatings, Terry Henricks Auto Group, Velocita USA, Dominator Race Products, Tom Finch Auto, Domination Race Cars and All Star Performance. Brenden Torok took the lead at the drop of the green for the 25-lap Fremont Fence 305 Sprint A-main but Jimmy McGrath powered around him on lap seven but Torok challenged over the next two laps. Great battles were going on behind the lead pair involving Dustin Dinan, Seth Schneider and ninth starter Matt Foos. Foos drove into second on lap 18 and was closing on McGrath when rain and heavy winds struck the speedway with just four laps to go, prompting officials to checker flag the race. McGrath's second career 305 win at Attica came over Foos, Torok, Schneider and 14th starter John Ivy. Jamie Miller's 10th place finish will keep him atop the Real Geese Decoys/Real Capz AFCS 305 sprints standings. McGrath thanked all his sponsors for helping secure his first win of 2025 including MAK Fabrication, BSE Welding & Fabrication, Sulfer Town Pub, Level Utilities, B&B Drain Service, Level Performance, WDLC Sheds & More, Wood Wizard and D2 Excavating. Attica Raceway Park will be back in action Friday, May 23 as the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars come to town for the first of two events at "Ohio's Finest Racing" speed plant. The 305 sprints will also be in action. - Callies Performance Products returns to Attica Raceway Park’s Brad Doty Classic as title sponsor of evening’s C-Main
The Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic presented by dac® Vitamins and Minerals is synonymous with not only big action, but big car counts, and with the 2024 edition welcoming nearly 50 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series entries, it's safe to assume a hefty count will make the call on July 15.
- Naida earns 1st Fremont win; Miller dominates 305s; Valenti gets truck win for 83rd career Fremont victory
FREMONT, Ohio - Darin Naida got his first laps in a sprint car at Fremont Speedway in 2022 and competed at "The Track That Action Built" many times over the past couple of years and the place frustrated him. Naida, from Adrian, Mich., put those years of frustration and learning to use Saturday, May 10, earning his first ever 410 sprint win at Fremont Speedway Presented by Gill Construction on Autokiniton Night. Naida, who picked up a win the previous week at a track in Michigan, took the lead from Craig Mintz on a restart with just 10 laps to go and drove to the win over Mintz who led the first 19 laps of the race, Cap Henry, Kasey Jedrzejek and Bryce Lucius. For Naida, Fremont Speedway's 2022 410 sprint rookie of the year, it was a very emotional win considering his grandfather, John, was Fremont's 1978 sprint car track champion and is inducted into the Fremont Speedway Hall of Fame. "This means a ton. I've probably raced here more than anywhere else in the country and to come on top is crazy. I came here in 2022 never drove a sprint car before and man I hated this place for like two years. I have to thank so many people for getting me here. L and M Properties, and Deddy Bears and Poor Racing and Ackland Insurance and Level Utilities and STP Motorsports. I have to thank Tyson…he's here tonight. My dad and my mom stuck with me through this all and all my crew guys and Harley for her support. I have to thank Evan and my little brother and Patrick and Greg. This means a ton," said Naida. "I struggled getting good on the restarts…I didn't have a lot of grip but it made is so good everywhere else on the race track. I felt like I could get through one and two with way more speed than him (Mintz) and as soon as I saw him just trying to putt around the tires I just ran the shit out of that thing…we were so much better," said Naida beside his Slusarski Excavating & Paving, Ackland Insurance, Poor Racing, L&M Properties, Deddy Bears, Rhino Racing, Level Utilities, Townline Variety backed #7N. Cap Henry's third place finish will keep him solidly atop the standings for the All Pro Aluminum Heads/Kistler Racing Products Attica Fremont Championship Series Presented by the Baumann Auto Group as he looks to earn his fourth series' title. While the stats will show Blayne Keckler led the first 14 laps of the 25-lap Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprint A-main and Dustin Stroup led lap 15. But when Jamie Miller, Fremont's defending 305 sprint track champion, drove from third to the lead at the half-way point he put on a dominating performance, lapping up to eighth place in the non-stop feature. Miller's 53rd career Fremont Speedway victory came over Stroup, Keckler, Shawn Valenti and Matt Foos rounding out the top five. It was a weekend sweep for Miller in the 305 sprints as he won the previous night at Attica Raceway Park. He looks to repeat as the Real Geese Decoys/Real Capz AFCS champion. "The track was very technical tonight. You had a little of everything on the race track. It was very racy. Early in the race I didn't know if I was going to get there. I was struggling a little bit but we started to burn some fuel off and the car got better and here I am again," said Miller beside of Boca Construction, JLH General Contractors, Kenny Kolb Farms, Tuck Pointing America, Queen of Clean, Smitty's Pizza, Roberts & Sons Contracting, Pizza Wheel, Crown Battery, Pub 400, Reedtown Tavern, Fostoria Mod Shop, Sandy's Dad, Gressman Powersports, Phil Rister, Slade Shock Technology backed #26. Once it got going the Burmeister Trophy Dirt Truck A-main was entertaining with just a pair of cautions flying late. Craig Dippman lead the first five laps but it wasn't easy as Dustin Keegan, Keith Sorg and Shawn Valenti applying pressure. Valenti drove into the lead on lap six and built an over three second lead before a caution flew with just three laps to go. Sorg applied tremendous pressure for the lead the final three laps but Valenti hung on for the win with Sorg, Keegan, Brad Stuckey and Jamie Miller rounding out the top five. The win is #83 at Fremont Speedway for Valenti is leads the all-time win list. "I was rolling pretty good getting through lapped traffic and I didn't know Keith was out there and I kind of squeezed him into the outside wall…I apologize for that. He caught me off-guard and made me get back on the wheel of this thing," said Valenti beside his Craig Miller Trucking, Conrad Transportation, Dave Story Equipment, A Plus Auto Center, Smolders Speed Concepts, S&S Hauling and Excavating backed #7B. - Henry gets 2nd 410 Attica win; Schlenk earns exciting last lap pass for late model victory; Miller again in 305 sprints
ATTICA, Ohio - Cap Henry has served notice - he is the driver to beat at Raceway Park. The defending and three time Attica champion took the lead on lap seven and sliced his way through dense lapped traffic to score his second win of 2025 on the Eric Phillips 37th Anniversary Classic presented by Edward Jones/Mike Neill advisor/American Powersports/Erie Blacktop/Rath Builders Supply Friday, May 9. Henry drove under Nate Dussel on lap seven of the 30 lap Callie's Performance Products 410 Sprint A-main and was able to work lapped traffic for his second win of 2025 at Attica. It's his 22nd career 410 sprint win at the track. Craig Mintz got by Dussel late to take second with DJ Foos and Bryce Lucius rounding out the top five. The $4,500 victory also keeps Henry in the driver's seat to repeat as the champion of the Kistler Racing Products/All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads Attica Fremont Championship Series presented by the Baumann Auto Group. "It was pretty tricky to get around the lapped guys. A couple of guys missed the bottom and I was able to get by them. I didn't know how big of a lead I had but the car felt good. I never heard anyone outside of us so I just kept plugging away at it. First things first….thoughts and prayers to the Evans family," said Henry beside his Premier Planning Service, Jeff Ward Demolition, Ohio Logistics, Primal Tee Shop, Innovative Excavating, Elliott's Custom Trailers and Carts, FK Rod Ends, King Racing, Griff's Engines; Berryman Racing Shocks, Callie's Performance Products, Dyers, Power Cool Manufacturing, SCS Gearbox, Tony Elliott Foundation backed #33W. The Dirt Nerds Podcast UMP Late Model A-main was a thriller. Mike Bores battled with Devin Shiels the first 16 laps of the 25-lap affair before a caution. On the restart Ryan grabbed second and closed on Bores. Meanwhile, Rusty Schlenk, who has won all four feature events at Attica in 2025 had stayed in the top five the entire race and looked like he would see his win streak come to a halt. A caution with just three laps left set up a dramatic finish. Bores led the charge to the green while Schlenk blasted from fifth to second utilizing the extreme high line of the track. Bores looked like he had the feature win in sight but Schlenk blast the cushion on the last lap and snuck past Bores for his fifth straight win of 2025 at Attica. Bores, Missler, Casey Noonan and Ryan Markham rounded out the top five. The win is the 48th late model victory of Schlenk's career at Attica and coupled with a pair of stock car wins at the track places him third on the all-time win list. "Man it was treacherous up there and I was way too tight. We threw some adjustments at this thing….this isn't even the car we won the first four races with here. We brought out the old car because we have to go to Atomic tomorrow and I didn't want to take a chance at hurting the good one. I was just kind of bidding my time running around in fifth…I didn't think I could go anywhere. I couldn't get up there and run the cushion. It was hard to make any moves. When we took that green I told myself I was committed. I knew all the guys ahead of me were going to the bottom so I said to myself we'll give it hell on the cushion and see if it will work," said Schlenk beside his Buckeye Concrete Coatings, Terry Henricks Auto Group, Velocita USA, Dominator Race Products, Tom Finch Auto, Domination Race Cars, All Star Performance backed #91. The Fremont Fence 305 Sprint A-main was also exciting. Defending Attica champion Jamie Miller jumped into the early lead but by lap 15 Seth Schneider caught him and the duo battled side by side. Following a caution with 10 laps remaining, last week's winner Dustin Stroup put pressure on Miller, taking the lead on lap 18. Miller kept his composure and used the low line to retake the lead with just three laps to go. Miller drove away for his fourth win of 2025 at Attica over Stroup, Schneider, Paul Weaver and Matt Foos. Miller's 49th career victory at Attica also pads his lead for a repeat of the Real Geese Decoys/Real Capz AFCS 305 title. "That was interesting. I hope the fans enjoyed that as much as I did. I was up top earlier in the race and I was kind of tight. I just slowed down and hugged the tires and ran right back up on Stroup," said Miller beside his Boca Construction, JLH General Contractors, Kenny Kolb Farms, Tuck Pointing America, Queen of Clean, Smitty's Pizza, Roberts & Sons Contracting, Pizza Wheel, Crown Battery, Pub 400., Reedtown Tavern, Fostoria Mod Shop, Sandy's Dad, Gressman Powersports, Phil Rister, Slade Shock Technology backed #26. - Schlenk remains unbeaten in Attica late model action; Stroup tames 305 sprints; Sorg earns truck victory
ATTICA, Ohio - Rusty Schlenk remains undefeated at Attica Raceway Park in 2025. The three time national UMP late model champion took the lead with just seven laps remaining Friday, May 2 after a spirited battle with five time track champion Devin Shiels and drove to his fourth straight feature win on RPM Performance Parts/Morgan Stanley Night against the Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Schlenk, the 2024 American Late Model Iron-Man Series champion who won the series race at Attica last season, took home $5,049 in the Stephen Wagner Memorial event. He also earned an extra $1,049 for winning the special Australian Pursuit in honor of Larry Scott. "I tell all my drivers to drive at 80 percent at all times and leave 100 percent for when you need it. Man we needed 100 percent every lap tonight. That was wild…a hell of a race and a lot of fun," said Schlenk beside his Buckeye Concrete Coatings, Terry Henricks Auto Group, Velocita USA, Dominator Race Products, Tom Finch Auto, Domination Race Cars, All Star Performance backed #91. Shiels, from Britton, Mich., jumped out to the early lead and quickly pulled away from the pack as Colten Burdette, from Parkersburg, W. Va., held second over Schlenk, Kyle Moore and Ryan Markham. Moore took third on lap two but no one was challenging Shiels until he encountered heavy lapped traffic just eight laps into the 30-lap affair that saw only one caution flag. At the halfway point Shiels had a put two lapped machine between himself and a good battle for second between Burdette, who was seeing Attica for the first time in his career, and Schlenk as Markham drove into fourth over Moore. With 10 laps to go Schlenk, from McClure, Ohio, took second and quickly began to eat into Shiels' lead and used a lapped car as a pick to drive into the lead on lap 23. With just four laps to go Shiels used traffic and drove by Schlenk but something broke on his #51 and he drove off the high side of turn one, handing the lead back to Schlenk who drove away for his 47th career Attica late model win over Burdette, Markham, Todd Brennan and Moore. In the 25-lap Fremont Fence 305 sprint feature Dustin Stroup grabbed the early lead as a good battle formed behind him involving Dustin Dinan, Jamie Miller, Paul Weaver and Jimmy McGrath. Miller took second on lap three but a big bobble in turn two on lap seven put McGrath and Dinan into second and third. The only thing that slowed Stroup's march to the checkers was several late race cautions, including with just two laps to go. The Fremont, Ohio driver executed a perfect restart and drove to his ninth career Attica win over McGrath, Weaver, Dinan and Miller. "This feels great. I wasn't sure how much I could race this year with having a new baby so me and JRA parted ways on good terms and my family still had a lot of parts and I bought a car from Dan Roberts…I drove for him in Indiana. I finished third in the nationals in that thing and that's the car I got. It feels good to get a win in the family car again," said Stroup beside his Pizza House Clyde, Mama Dukes TRP, GCE LLS., Myer's Racing Engines, Midwest Dyno Services, Sulphur Town Pub, The Bowman Family, Warwick Entertainment, Bobby's Truck, Auto and Bus Repair, Wear A Print LLC, TME Services, Advance Auto Parts, Eye Candy Custom Cycles backed #10x. Fremont, Ohio's Keith Sorg battled with Shawn Valenti throughout the first 14 laps of the 15-lap dirt truck feature and then held off Jamie Miller in a one-lap dash following a caution on lap 14 to score his fourth career Attica win. "We blew up our good motor last week on opening night at Fremont. I've been kind of upset about that all week so to come out here and win makes up for a lot of that," said Sorg beside his Fremont Fence, M&L Excavating, Westend Tire, Great Lakes Garage Door backed #4s. Attica Raceway Park will be back in action Friday, May 9 for the 37th Annual Eric Phillips Anniversary Classic with the Attica Fremont Championship Series 410 and 305 sprints and the UMP Late Models in action.
