(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 30, 2025 - In a season that has put Austin Hartmann and the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing Team to the test many times over, a solid weekend overall effort highlighted with a season-best showing was just what the doctor ordered in a back to back to back Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association weekend of action. The IRA tripleheader opened at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., where Hartmann opened the night by turning in a 12.671-second qualifying lap to place 22nd in the 30-car field. From there, the 2020 Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car Rookie of the Year Award winner placed seventh in the first eight-lap heat race before starting third and racing to victory in the IRA B main to advance to main event competition. Hartmann wrapped up the night with an 18th-place showing in the A-main. The following night saw Hartmann string together his best night of the 2025 season at Beaver Dam Raceway on Saturday, July 26. After qualifying 13th in the 34-car field with a lap of 12.947 seconds, the Plymouth, Wis. native placed third in the first heat race to gain the 13th starting spot in the 30-lap headliner. The weekend closed out on Sunday, Aug. 27, at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis., where Hartmann qualified 13th out of 31 cars before placing fifth in the first heat race and coming home 17th in the 30-lap main event. - Arenz pushes forward through three-race IRA weekend
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 30, 2025 - Following a three-week hiatus, Travis Arenz and the Travis Arenz Motorsports team hit the track for a three-race weekend of competition with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series action at Mississippi Thunder Speedway on Friday, July 25, Beaver Dam Raceway on Saturday, July 26 and Angell Park Speedway on Sunday, July 27. Arenz opened the weekend with a 20th-place qualifying effort with a lap of 12.622 seconds in the 30-car field at the third-mile high-banked Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis. on Friday, July 25. The 2021 and 2022 Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion finished sixth in the second IRA heat race to roll off 18th in the 30-lap A-main. Arenz went on to advance eight spots to claim a solid 10th-place showing. The Sheboygan Falls, Wis. competitor found his groove at Beaver Dam Raceway on Saturday, July 26 by qualifying 11th in the 34-car field and gaining a dash berth by winning in the third heat race. After placing fourth in the first four-lap IRA dash, Arenz started seventh and moved up three spots to tally a weekend-best fourth-place finish in the 30-lap main event. At the historic Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. on Sunday, July 27, Arenz managed to qualify 16th in the 31-car field. Following a sixth-place finish in the first heat race, Arenz gained the 17th starting position in the 30-lap Salute to Bryan Gapinski main event. Arenz clawed his way up six positions to cap off the weekend in 11th. "The weekend wasn't that great for us," Arenz said. "We didn't perform how I would have liked, but I am pleased we moved forward each night. We also tried some new setup things that didn't go the best. On a positive note, the car is in one piece, and we all survived the hot temperatures. The only real problem I had this weekend was Sunday at Angell Park. I started losing oil pressure in the heat race. Luckily, it was just a gauge failure." After a two-week hiatus, the team is scheduled to resume its Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series campaign on Saturday, Aug. 16 at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., during the Kenosha County Fair. Spectator gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 5:45 p.m. and racing at 6:45 p.m. Arenz will close out the weekend at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis., as part of Corn Fest on Sunday, Aug. 17. - Pokorski finds speed amid motor woes in IRA tripleheader
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 29, 2025 - Despite dealing with a misfiring motor, Alex Pokorski squeezed the most out of his No. 4 Akright Auto Motorsports machine during a three-night weekend stand with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series contested at three different Wisconsin dirt ovals. On Friday, July 25, Pokorski made his first appearance at the lightning-fast high-banked third-mile Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis. The fifth-year Sprint Car driver turned in the 12th fastest qualifying time in the 30-car field with a lap of 12.436 seconds. After starting on the pole in the third eight-lap heat race, the West Bend, Wis. native placed third to earn a transfer spot into the 30-lap A-main. After launching from the 13th starting spot, Pokorski was running 19th when he pulled off with motor issues. He was scored 22nd. One night later, on Saturday, July 26, Pokorski enjoyed a stellar start by qualifying a strong fifth in the 34-car field with a fast lap of 12.817 around the third-mile high-banked clay oval. Following a fifth-place showing in the first IRA heat race, Pokorski gained an IRA dash berth for the first time in his career. With a third-place showing in the second four-lap dash, Pokorski rolled off sixth in the 30-lap main event. After running as high as fifth, Pokorski brushed the wall on lap 22 and held on to equal his career-best IRA A-main showing with a 13th-place finish. One night later at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis., the team's weekend-long motor woes came to a head. After testing out the car during hot laps, Pokorski aborted his first qualifying attempt and retired the car for the remainder of the event. "I enjoyed racing at Mississippi Thunder and Beaver Dam," Pokorski said. "We had speed on Friday and Saturday. We just struggled with engine problems all weekend, which eventually took us out. Otherwise, we may have been faster yet." After taking the upcoming weekend off, the Alex Pokorski - Akright Auto Racing Team is set to make another start with the Plymouth Dirt Track Racing - Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Cars on Saturday, Aug. 9, at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. - Perfect pass punctuates Pokorski's first Plymouth win
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 15, 2025 - As last-lap passes go, Alex Pokorski's slide job to steal the victory in the 25-lap Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car A-main at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, July 12, will not soon be forgotten. Pokorski's final lap heroics propelled him to not just any race win, but his first career PDTR 360 Sprint Car main event victory at his home track. The night got off to a strong start as the West Bend native recorded his second consecutive fast qualifier award in PDTR 360 Sprint Car competition with a lap of 12.853 seconds to lead the 23-car field. In the first eight-lap heat race, Pokorski advanced to third from the fourth starting spot to gain the pole position in the 25-lap main event. After leading the first three laps, Pokorski relinquished the top spot to Billy Kreutz on lap 4. As the laps wound down, slower traffic became an issue for Kreutz, which allowed Pokorski to cut the gap significantly before making a bid for the lead to no avail on lap 19. Three laps later, Pokorski ripped off a slide job in turn four to briefly take the lead. However, Kreutz battled back to reclaim the top spot with a slide job of his own in turn one on lap 23. On the final circuit, Pokorski wound up tight and unleashed a thrilling race-winning slide job in turn two to seize the top spot en route to his first career PDTR 360 Sprint Car A-main victory and second career Midwest Sprint Car Association main event win. It was Pokorski's first MSA victory since June 2, 2023 at Dodge County Fairgrounds Speedway in Beaver Dam, Wis. In five PDTR-MSA 360 Sprint Car starts in 2025, Pokorski has racked up an A-main victory to go along with three additional podium finishes and a lowest finish of ninth. "That race was a lot of fun," Pokorski said. "I think it's more rewarding than the last one because we had to really work for it, both on and off the track. The race I had with Billy [Kreutz] with the slide job to win on the final lap is how you dream of winning them. Dave [Schultz], Randy [Leamer] and my dad [Paul Pokorski] did a great job of helping me get the car set up just right. Also, getting our second quick time award in only five events with MSA was the cherry on top. Those results show we have a little more speed than last year, in addition to our feature finishes." Next up for the team is a Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series tripleheader starting Friday, July 25 at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., moving to Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wis. on Saturday, July 26 and closing at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. on Sunday, July 27. - Arenz grabs mixed bag at IRA Bloomington, Butler jaunt
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 2, 2025 - It was a tale of two nights for Travis Arenz and the Travis Arenz Motorsports team during a doubleheader weekend of Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series action at Bloomington Speedway in Indiana on Friday, June 27 and Butler Motor Speedway in Michigan on Saturday, June 28. Arenz's first visit to the quarter-mile high-banked Bloomington Speedway red clay oval in Bloomington, Ind. was one to forget. After struggling to muster the 28th fastest lap in the 29-car field, the 18th-year racer moved from 10th to seventh in the first eight-lap heat race to finish one spot out of an A-main transfer spot. He then placed third in the IRA B main to gain the 24th starting position in the 30-lap A main. However, Arenz pulled off early on, resulting in a 24th-place showing. "I thought Bloomington was a neat place," Arenz said. "I would be curious to see how things would have gone if the track didn't get as much rain and the surface wasn't crap. With having to start at the tail of the feature and already slicing two new tires, we decided to be smart, save our equipment and keep a few laps off our motor. Considering those factors, I chose to pull off in the early laps of the feature." One night later, at Butler Motor Speedway in Quincy, Mich., proved to be an improvement as Arenz opened the night by securing fast qualifier honors in the 37-car field with a lap of 13.382 seconds around the three-eighths-mile high-banked dirt oval. After placing second in the first heat race and third in IRA dash 1, the Sheboygan Falls, Wis. driver started the 30-lap main event from the fifth starting position. He wavered between fourth and seventh place throughout the event before coming home with a strong fifth-place showing to mark his fifth top-five finish of the 2025 campaign. "I liked racing at Butler," Arenz said. "It was sort of a combination of a few tracks we run frequently. I enjoy competing at new tracks to test my skills." With the IRA off until the end of July, Arenz is unsure if he will enter any races in the coming weeks. The IRA season will resume with a tripleheader weekend starting Friday, July 26 at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., moving on to Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wis. on Saturday, July 27 and ending up at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. on Sunday, July 28. "As for the plans in the next few weeks, it's up in the air as of now," Arenz said. "If I can, I would like to race a time or two to keep my skills sharp." - Hartmann shakes slow start, tallies two top 10s
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) May 28, 2025 - After encountering a laundry list of setbacks during the early portion of the 2025 Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association campaign, Austin Hartmann and the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing Team broke through in a big way to register a pair of top-10 A-main showings at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis on Saturday, May 24 and 141 Speedway in Francis Creek, Wis. on Sunday, May 25. Hartmann kicked off the Memorial Day Weekend doubleheader by timing in eighth in the 36-car field with a time of 12.558 seconds at Wilmot Raceway. After placing third from the fourth starting spot in the fourth IRA heat race, the Plymouth, Wis. driver made his first dash appearance of the 2025 IRA season. After finishing fifth in the second four-lap dash, Hartmann rolled off from the 10th starting position in the 30-lap A main. The 2020 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing and Midwest Sprint Car Association Rookie of the Year Award winner ran inside the top 10 throughout the main event en route to a solid 10th-place showing. One night later, the 87A Hartmann Racing Team moved on to the 141 Speedway on Sunday, May 25 where Hartmann earned his second-career IRA fast qualifier award by topping the 30-car field with a quick lap of 12.231 seconds. Following a fourth-place showing in the first IRA heat race, Hartmann finished third in the first four-lap IRA dash to secure the fifth starting spot in the 30-lap main event. Despite challenging track conditions including a single-file, rubber-down surface in the closing stages of the race, Hartmann held strong inside the top 10 throughout the 30-lap headliner on the way to a season-best ninth-place finish for the 87A Hartmann Racing Team's second top-10 showing of the 2025 campaign. "Man, it felt good to put together a solid weekend of racing," Hartmann said. "This car belongs to be running up front, and we proved that during the weekend. My team is relentless. I couldn't be happier to give them a couple of good nights of racing. With some speed in our pocket, we're ready to tackle 'hell week' with the High Limit and World of Outlaws series as we're calling it in the state of Wisconsin. - Arenz storms to Plymouth IRA triumph No. 2
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) May 21, 2025 - Twenty-two months after recording his first career Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series victory at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis., Travis Arenz found his way back to victory lane at his home track on Saturday, May 17. The 18th-year racer opened the IRA's first appearance of the 2025 season at The Plymouth Track by qualifying third in the 32-car field with a lap of 11.367 seconds. The 2021 and 2022 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing and Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Car champ then advanced from fourth to second in the third IRA heat race to earn a berth in the first IRA dash. After drawing the pole for dash 1, Arenz outdueled 2010 Knoxville Nationals champion Tim Shaffer to claim his second dash victory of the season and earn the pole for the 30-lap Scott Semmelmann Memorial A main. Arenz used a strong start to seize the lead on the opening lap and was never seriously challenged throughout the main event, building up a sizable 2½ second lead over Scotty Thiel before a caution flag on lap 23. He again bolted away from Thiel on the restart en route to his second career IRA main event victory and first since July 1, 2023. It was also Arenz's 72nd overall career main event triumph and 38th career A-main victory at The Plymouth Dirt Track spanning four different divisions - Outlaw Compact 4-Cylinder, B Mod (Sport Mod), 360 Sprint Car and 410 Sprint Car. "In a perfect world, I would love for every night to go as it did at Plymouth," Arenz said. "The car felt really good each time I was on the track. I knew I still needed to be smooth and consistent through the feature, and I knew that with starting on the pole, the only option I wanted was a win. Before the last caution, we had a 2.5-second lead over the car in second, which told me I was doing my job well. It felt so good to get a win for my team, sponsors and myself." One night later, Arenz ventured to the Angell Park Speedway for the second half of an IRA weekend doubleheader. However, the results for the 25T Travis Arenz Motorsports Team car were decidedly different from the night before. After qualifying 13th in the 31-car field, Arenz finished sixth from the fifth starting spot in the first heat race to advance to the 30-lap headliner. After firing off from the 16th starting spot, Arenz's A main was over before it started as a multi-car melee along the backstretch on the opening lap left his car flipped on its side. Arenz retreated to the work area to try to repair the car. However, he was unable to return to the track before the race resumed and was credited with a 22nd-place finish. "Unfortunately, I didn't have quite enough help as I would have liked at Angell Park for the night to go as smoothly as it did at Plymouth," Arenz said. "It goes to show how quickly someone can go from winning a feature one night to wrecking the next. Luckily, it looks like I only damaged bolt-on components. We will go through the car and get it ready for this weekend at Wilmot and 141." The Travis Arenz Motorsports team will take part in a Memorial Day weekend of doubleheader IRA action starting with Founders Night at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis. on Saturday, May 24 and concluding at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek. Wis. on Sunday, May 25. Spectator gates open at 4 p.m., hot laps/qualifying begin at 5:45 p.m., and racing starts at 6:45 p.m. Saturday, May 24, at Wilmot Raceway. - Hartmann stays the course through motor woes
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) May 21, 2025 - For the second consecutive week, the Austin Hartmann-87A Hartmann Racing team had to stare down engine problems, which cut short a planned doubleheader weekend of Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series competition. Hartmann and the 87A Hartmann Racing Team returned to its home track - The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. - aiming to shake off the engine issues from the week before at Sycamore Speedway and jump-start an uneven beginning to the 2025 IRA campaign. However, the mechanical gremlins were evident right from the start of the night as Hartmann was unable to register a qualifying lap due to lingering motor issues. Following an engine swap, the Plymouth driver came home seventh after starting eighth in the 8-lap IRA heat race. Hartmann moved up three positions from the ninth starting spot in the B main. However, he finished two spots out of an A-main transfer position with a sixth-place showing. The persistent engine problems led the team to forgo the following night's IRA event at Angell Park Speedway to regroup and plan its next steps in securing a new powerplant. "It's going to be a busy week, but we will have a fresh Kistler racing engine in for this upcoming weekend and from here on out," Hartmann said. "Hopefully, the common valve train issues we have been having will stop now." The team is planning to be back in action with the IRA during a Memorial Day weekend of doubleheader IRA action starting with Founders Night at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis. on Saturday, May 24 and concluding at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek. - Pokorski pogos through eventful IRA double dip
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) May 20, 2025 - For drivers and teams up for tackling one of the toughest disciplines of dirt track racing, the first season of 410 Sprint Car competition is typically filled with a wide array of challenges, frustrations and roadblocks sprinkled with breakthroughs, discoveries and successes. Alex Pokorski and the Akright Auto Racing Team experienced all of that and more during a doubleheader weekend of Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association action at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, May 17 and Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. on Sunday, May 18. In his first appearance of the 2025 season at the team's home track - The Plymouth Dirt Track - Pokorski opened the night by qualifying 21st in the 32-car field with a lap of 11.875 around the venerable third-mile clay oval. He went on to place seventh after starting sixth in the first IRA heat race, which put him in the B main lineup. Needing to finish in the top four to earn a transfer to the 30-lap Scott Semmelmann Memorial A main, the 2024 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car division runner-up launched from the seventh starting spot in the B main. However, he fell one position short of transferring to the A-main by registering a fifth-place showing. "I think we could've transferred directly to the A main at Plymouth, if I hadn't let up on the first lap of the heat race for some radio interference that I thought was calling for a caution," Pokorski said. One night later, the team moved on to Angell Park Speedway, where Pokorski made his 410 Sprint Car debut with the IRA in May 2024. The West Bend, Wis. native timed 19th in the 31-car field with a lap of 12.252 seconds. He then placed seventh in the first IRA heat to move to the B main. After starting on the outside of the front row and outpowering polesitter Bill Rose at the start, Pokorski led all 12 laps of the B main on the way to his first race win in IRA competition. On the opening lap of the 30-lap A main, Pokorski was involved in a multi-car incident along the back stretch, which left his No. 4 Akright Auto machine with front wing damage and concluded the team's night with a 20th place showing. "Angell Park was fun until the A-main crash," Pokorski said. "I'm not sure what happened in front of me there, but we broke off the rear mounting point for the nose wing. That ended our night. I enjoyed winning the B main. It was neat to share the front row with a driver like Bill Rose, who I watched race with the World of Outlaws growing up." The team is set to return to competition with a Memorial Day weekend of doubleheader IRA action starting with Founders Night at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis. on Saturday, May 24 and concluding at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek. Wis. on Sunday, May 25. Spectator gates open at 4 p.m., hot laps/qualifying begin at 5:45 p.m., and racing starts at 6:45 p.m. Saturday, May 24, at Wilmot Raceway.
