- Arenz takes first run at LaSalle, ramps up for three-race IRA weekend
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) August 27, 2025 - After competing in just three Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series races over the span of the past seven weeks, Travis Arenz and his crew got back on track with their first appearance at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Ill., on Saturday, Aug. 23. Arenz opened the night by qualifying 18th overall in the 36-car field with a lap of 11.660 seconds. After placing sixth in the second IRA heat race, the 2020 and 2021 Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion rolled off third and advanced one spot to place second in the 12-lap B main and move on to the evening's main event. The Sheboygan Falls, Wis. driver started 21st in the 30-lap main event and worked his way up to as high as 12th before tallying a 20th place showing. "LaSalle is a cool facility," Arenz said. "I have never raced there before, so I'm glad we got to experience it, but the night's results were less than favorable. I made contact with the wall after losing tack coming out of the turn during the closing laps of the feature, which resulted in making contact with another driver. It was a driving error on my part. I always want to race clean and respectfully. With the wreck this past weekend, there is a lot of work to prepare for this weekend. We will get everything back together and be ready. I hope to turn good clean laps all weekend. I'm also hoping to get a little redemption at Beaver Dam while we still can!" The Travis Arenz Motorsports Team is set to enter a big tripleheader weekend of IRA action starting at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis., for the annual Sheboygan County Fair race on Friday, Aug. 29. On-track action is set to commence at 5 p.m. One night later, Arenz joins the IRA for the Harry Neitzel Tribute and Jim Wipperfurth Memorial, billed as the last-ever Sprint Car race at Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wis., on Saturday, Aug. 30. Spectator gates are scheduled to open at 4 p.m. with racing starting at 6 p.m. The weekend closes with an appearance at The Hill Raceway in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., with the IRA 410 Sprint Car Series. Spectator gates open at 3 p.m. with racing scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. All 2025 IRA events are streamed live on floracing.com. - Hartmann preps for IRA Labor Day weekend tripleheader
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) August 27, 2025 - After 23 days out of the driver's seat, Austin Hartmann and the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing Team got back at it last week with the NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws and Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association. On Tuesday, Aug. 19, Hartmann and crew traveled to far western Wisconsin to take on the World of Outlaws 410 Sprint Car Series at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis. The fifth-year Sprint Car competitor qualified 23rd in the 27-car field with a lap of 12.045 around the lightning-fast, third-mile high-banked clay oval. After placing seventh in the second heat race, the Plymouth, Wis. driver advanced to the 30-lap A-main with a second place showing in the Last Chance Showdown. Hartmann held strong in the main event to post a 21st place showing. The team made its first-ever visit to the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Ill., with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association on Saturday, Aug. 23. The 2020 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing and Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Car Rookie of the Year Award recipient qualified 19th overall in the 36-car field with a lap of 11.679 seconds on the quarter-mile high-banked dirt oval. He then placed sixth in the first IRA heat race before starting fifth in the B Main. Hartmann was running seventh, needing to place in the top four to advance to the main event, when an incident on lap 8 ended his evening early. He was credited with a 10th place showing. "It was another IRA show where the results weren't what we wanted," Hartmann said. "I didn't have a very good night behind the wheel. We're looking forward to getting things straight for the three-race weekend coming up." 87A Hartmann Racing Team is preparing for a big tripleheader weekend of IRA action starting at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis., for the annual Sheboygan County Fair race on Friday, Aug. 29. - After eventful double dip, Pokorski eyes IRA tripleheader
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) August 26, 2025 - Following a month away from competition, a weekend of 360 and 410 Sprint Car action offered a little bit of everything for Alex Pokorski and members of the Akright Auto Racing Team. The team opened the doubleheader weekend with a night of Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car action at The Plymouth Dirt Track on Friday, Aug 22. Alex began the program by registering the seventh fastest qualifying time in the 26-car field with a lap of 12.746 around the semi-banked third-mile clay oval. After starting third and placing second in the second heat race, the fifth-year Sprint Car racer rolled off from the fourth starting slot in the 25-lap headliner. The West Bend native used a strong start to vault into second on lap 4. While dueling with Scotty Thiel for the runner-up spot on lap 9, Pokorski brushed the front stretch wall, which resulted in a flat right rear tire. After retreating to the work area for a tire change, he rejoined the field, charging from 21st to secure a 12th place finish. One night later, on Saturday, Aug. 23, Pokorski and crew made their debut appearance at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Ill., for a Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series event. After qualifying 31st in the 36-car field with a lap of 12.227 seconds around the quarter-mile high-banked dirt oval, Pokorski placed seventh in the fourth heat race. Alex lined up sixth in the 12-lap B Main and was battling for the final A-main transfer spot when he clipped the front stretch wall on lap 7. The impact produced enough damage to bring the evening to a close for the No. 4 car. He was credited with a ninth place showing in the B main. "We had good speed in the 360 again," Pokorski said. "We were just unlucky to crash early in the A main. On the 410 side of things, we are still learning. I ended up driving it too hard and made some more work for us this week. We have a good start on it. I'm hoping to finish up the season strong, beginning with making the three shows this weekend." The Alex Pokorski-Akright Auto Racing Team is preparing for a big tripleheader weekend of IRA action starting at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis., for the annual Sheboygan County Fair race on Friday, Aug. 29. On-track action is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. One night later, Pokorski joins the IRA for the Harry Neitzel Tribute and Jim Wipperfurth Memorial in what is being billed as the final Sprint Car race ever to be held at Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wis., on Saturday, Aug. 30. Spectator gates are scheduled to open at 4 p.m., with racing starting at 6 p.m. The weekend closes with the team's first-ever appearance at The Hill Raceway in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., with the IRA 410 Sprint Car Series. - Hartmann tallies 2025 IRA best at Beaver Dam Raceway
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 30, 2025 - In a season that has put Austin Hartmann and the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing Team to the test many times over, a solid weekend overall effort highlighted with a season-best showing was just what the doctor ordered in a back to back to back Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association weekend of action. The IRA tripleheader opened at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., where Hartmann opened the night by turning in a 12.671-second qualifying lap to place 22nd in the 30-car field. From there, the 2020 Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car Rookie of the Year Award winner placed seventh in the first eight-lap heat race before starting third and racing to victory in the IRA B main to advance to main event competition. Hartmann wrapped up the night with an 18th-place showing in the A-main. The following night saw Hartmann string together his best night of the 2025 season at Beaver Dam Raceway on Saturday, July 26. After qualifying 13th in the 34-car field with a lap of 12.947 seconds, the Plymouth, Wis. native placed third in the first heat race to gain the 13th starting spot in the 30-lap headliner. Hartmann stayed smooth and consistent in the main event to capture a season-best seventh-place showing. The weekend closed out on Sunday, Aug. 27, at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis., where Hartmann qualified 13th out of 31 cars before placing fifth in the first heat race and coming home 17th in the 30-lap main event. "It's crazy how humbling this sport can be," Hartmann said. "We had the best car all season and the worst in the matter of 24 hours. Ian, Eric, and Karlee did a great job helping the team this past weekend. We'll take a couple of weeks and dial in some equipment for the remainder of the season." After placing fourth in the first four-lap IRA dash, Arenz started seventh and moved up three spots to tally a weekend-best fourth-place finish in the 30-lap main event. At the historic Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. on Sunday, July 27, Arenz managed to qualify 16th in the 31-car field. Following a sixth-place finish in the first heat race, Arenz gained the 17th starting position in the 30-lap Salute to Bryan Gapinski main event. Arenz clawed his way up six positions to cap off the weekend in 11th. "The weekend wasn't that great for us," Arenz said. "We didn't perform how I would have liked, but I am pleased we moved forward each night. We also tried some new setup things that didn't go the best. On a positive note, the car is in one piece, and we all survived the hot temperatures. The only real problem I had this weekend was Sunday at Angell Park. I started losing oil pressure in the heat race. Luckily, it was just a gauge failure." After a two-week hiatus, the team is scheduled to resume its Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series campaign on Saturday, Aug. 16 at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., during the Kenosha County Fair. Spectator gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 5:45 p.m. and racing at 6:45 p.m. Arenz will close out the weekend at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis., as part of Corn Fest on Sunday, Aug. 17. - Pokorski finds speed amid motor woes in IRA tripleheader
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 29, 2025 - Despite dealing with a misfiring motor, Alex Pokorski squeezed the most out of his No. 4 Akright Auto Motorsports machine during a three-night weekend stand with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series contested at three different Wisconsin dirt ovals. On Friday, July 25, Pokorski made his first appearance at the lightning-fast high-banked third-mile Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis. The fifth-year Sprint Car driver turned in the 12th fastest qualifying time in the 30-car field with a lap of 12.436 seconds. After starting on the pole in the third eight-lap heat race, the West Bend, Wis. native placed third to earn a transfer spot into the 30-lap A-main. After launching from the 13th starting spot, Pokorski was running 19th when he pulled off with motor issues. He was scored 22nd. One night later, on Saturday, July 26, Pokorski enjoyed a stellar start by qualifying a strong fifth in the 34-car field with a fast lap of 12.817 around the third-mile high-banked clay oval. Following a fifth-place showing in the first IRA heat race, Pokorski gained an IRA dash berth for the first time in his career. With a third-place showing in the second four-lap dash, Pokorski rolled off sixth in the 30-lap main event. After running as high as fifth, Pokorski brushed the wall on lap 22 and held on to equal his career-best IRA A-main showing with a 13th-place finish. One night later at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis., the team's weekend-long motor woes came to a head. After testing out the car during hot laps, Pokorski aborted his first qualifying attempt and retired the car for the remainder of the event. "I enjoyed racing at Mississippi Thunder and Beaver Dam," Pokorski said. "We had speed on Friday and Saturday. We just struggled with engine problems all weekend, which eventually took us out. Otherwise, we may have been faster yet." After taking the upcoming weekend off, the Alex Pokorski - Akright Auto Racing Team is set to make another start with the Plymouth Dirt Track Racing - Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Cars on Saturday, Aug. 9, at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. The team is scheduled to resume its Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series campaign on Saturday, Aug. 16, at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., during the Kenosha County Fair. - Hartmann mounts Outlaws charge, eyes Knoxville dream
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 16, 2025 - In a season haunted by mechanical maladies and misfortune, Austin Hartmann and the 87A Hartmann Racing Team encountered more of the same early before coming on strong late to cap an eventful night with the NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis. on Saturday, July 12. The Plymouth, Wis. driver's fifth night of competition with the World of Outlaws in 2025 started on a sour note as his machine failed to fire for hot laps, qualifying and heat race action. After finally diagnosing a problem with the car's fueling system, Hartmann put together an inspired drive from 12th to sixth in the Last Chance Showdown to earn the final transfer spot into the 40-lap Larry Hillerud Memorial main event. The 2020 Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Car rookie of the year drove a smooth and steady A main to finish 19th from the 24th starting spot. "Man, what a struggle," Hartmann, "We found out the tail tank was causing the car not to fire. It was the same one the car ran on the race prior. I didn't really keep my composure at all. Then, when we pushed off for the B main, I realized I lost rear brakes, so that made it even worse in the B [Last Chance Showdown]. All in all, I can't thank the Goldsberrys, Neumans and Dave Uttech enough for brainstorming and helping to get the car running. The car runs great now." Hartmann is ready to hit the road to Iowa to make his debut at the most renowned track in the sport of Sprint Car racing this Saturday, July 19. "We will regroup and focus on Knoxville Raceway this weekend," Hartmann said. "Racing at Knoxville is a lifelong dream. It's finally coming true." Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m. with hot laps at 6:45 p.m. and racing commencing at 8 p.m. for the Knoxville Raceway weekly 410 Sprint Car program on historic half-mile semi-banked black dirt oval. The event will be live-streamed on dirtvision.com. 87A Hartmann Racing 2025 sponsorship partners include Kristine Hartmann Pleasantview Realty, Shufflebotham Tree Service, The Dispensary, Metalcraft, Ludwig & Sons Trucking, Quasius Construction, Holler n' Hills, Rich's Truck & Auto Repair, Gibbsville Cheese, Hepfner Racing Products and Berryman Racing Shocks.
