Chino Hills, CA — October 21, 2026 — After Mother Nature washed out his scheduled appearance at Arizona's Mohave Valley Raceway two weeks ago, Southern California racing star Eddie Tafoya Jr. is headed back to the Copper State this Thursday through Saturday for three nights of intense competition at the prestigious Western World Sprint Car Championships.

The three-night racing extravaganza will mark Tafoya's return to Central Arizona Raceway, where he made three impressive appearances earlier this season. His first visit came on April 18, when he raced to a fifth-place finish on the banked, 3/8-mile clay oval located at the Pinal County Fairgrounds.

One month later, the talented racer made the 395-mile trek from his Chino Hills, California, home to the Casa Grande, Arizona, speedplant, situated halfway between Phoenix and Tucson. Once again, Tafoya proved to be a formidable competitor, recording fifth- and sixth-place finishes during the two-night program.

Tafoya has established a solid record of consistency in one of the Southwest's most prestigious sprint car events. With the exception of 2023, when a pair of blown engines at Cocopah Speedway brought his Western World campaign to a premature end, the 2018 Perris Auto Speedway Young Guns Champion and 2019 USAC/CRA Rookie of the Year has qualified for every Western World preliminary and A-main event dating back to 2021.

Last year, Tafoya recorded his best Western World finale finish, bringing his car home in 12th place after placing 23rd in the preliminary event. With three solid performances already under his belt at Central Arizona Raceway this season, he will be looking to build on that experience and turn in his strongest Western World showing yet.

For fans unable to make the trip to Arizona to cheer on the 29-year-old Southern California standout in person, all three nights of the Western World Championships will be streamed live on FloRacing.
