- Mann, What a Race! Jett Mann Captures First Career GLSS Win at Butler Saturday
Quincy, MI - The second night of a doubleheader weekend brought some different drivers to the table, hoping to find victory lane with the MacAllister CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP. A mix of championship hopefuls and ringers looking for a win put on an intense show for fans at Butler Motor Speedway. Alongside Boston Mead, Jett Mann led the field to the green ahead of the 25-lap main event on Saturday night. Mann held off Dustin Daggett and Jared Horstman to lead the opening lap. Mead fought back into third behind Daggett putting Horstman back to fourth ahead of Chase Ridenour. The first caution flag of the night came out just four laps in when Phil Gressman spun at the bottom of turn one. On the restart, things remained relatively unchanged throughout the field until the halfway mark of the race when the leaders started working through heavy lapped traffic. On lap 15, Mann missed the bottom entering turn one, opening the door for Daggett to get to his inside. Daggett took the lead down the backstretch and now had the task of navigating lapped traffic. The pass for the lead allowed Boston Mead to work back into the conversation for the top spot. With eight laps to go, Daggett caught a piece of the tractor tire exiting the turn, which gave Mann a run going into three. Entering the turn, Daggett was taking a big arch to try to get under a lapped car, opening the door for Mann on the extreme bottom. The pair made contact and bumped side-by-side several times until the center of the corner, when Mann was able to drive away, and Daggett spun to the bottom of the track which was the preferred line. Daggett attempted to hit the spin cycle and drive out of the incident, but with heavy traffic coming into three, officials called a caution which sent the No.85 to the tail, setting up a final restart with less than 10 to go. Mann was able to hold off Mead and Jared Horstman for his first career GLSS Feature victory in just his second start since a vicious crash at I-96 Speedway in June. The next event for the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP is Friday, August 22nd from Ohsweken Speedway in Ontario, Canada, and Saturday, August 23rd from Buxton Speedway. Fans who can't make the trip can catch the action live on www.GreatLakesSprints.TV. Max Stambaugh set the Ti22 Performance Quick Time. Max Stambaugh won Engler Machine & Tool Heat Race one. Dustin Daggett won Beacon & Bridge Market Heat Race two. Jett Mann won Miami Pain Heat Race three. Michigan CAT A Feature 1 (25 Laps): 1. 19-Jett Mann[2]; 2. 42-Boston Mead[1]; 3. 17-Jared Horstman[3]; 4. 38-Chase Ridenour[5]; 5. 71H-Max Stambaugh[6]; 6. 16-Ryan Ruhl[7]; 7. 23-Devon Dobie[9]; 8. - On Cloud Nine! Stambaugh Earns Ninth GLSS Win Saturday at Silver Bullet
Owendale, MI - In 2017, on his way to his first career Great Lakes Super Sprints Championship, Jared Horstman collected a record 11 feature wins. After Saturday night's event with the MacAllister CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP, Stambaugh is now within two wins of the record. Alex Clute and Phil Gressman led the field to the green flag ahead of 25 laps on Saturday night. Gressman jumped out to the early lead as Stambaugh and Mike Keegan hustled three wide around Clute. On lap 11 in heavy lapped traffic, Stambaugh found the outside of the race track which had been bottom-dominant all night long. Stambaugh ripped around Gressman down the backstretch before setting sail out front. Meanwhile, the rest of the top five were bumper-to-bumper trying to gain position. Gressman, Keegan, and Dustin Daggett negotiated the terms for the final rung of the podium amid thick lapped traffic. With less than five laps to go, Daggett moved into the second spot while Gressman held off Keegan and a charging Jared Horstman. At the finish, Max Stambaugh collected his ninth win of the season ahead of Daggett, Gressman, Keegan, and Horstman. With the win, Stambaugh moves into second on the all-time Great Lakes Super Sprints wins list with 27. He trails Horstman who has 31. Stambaugh extends his lead in the Tour Championship standings and closes in on Horstman for the MacAllister CAT Division with just four races remaining in Michigan and six on the Tour. The next event for the MacAllister CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints is Friday, August 15th at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan before going to Butler Motor Speedway on Saturday, August 16th. Fans who can't make the trip can catch the action on GreatLakesSprints.Tv. Michigan CAT A Feature 1 (25 Laps): 1. 71H-Max Stambaugh[3]; 2. 85-Dustin Daggett[5]; 3. 7C-Phil Gressman[2]; 4. - Arenz grabs mixed bag at IRA Bloomington, Butler jaunt
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 2, 2025 - It was a tale of two nights for Travis Arenz and the Travis Arenz Motorsports team during a doubleheader weekend of Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series action at Bloomington Speedway in Indiana on Friday, June 27 and Butler Motor Speedway in Michigan on Saturday, June 28. Arenz's first visit to the quarter-mile high-banked Bloomington Speedway red clay oval in Bloomington, Ind. was one to forget. After struggling to muster the 28th fastest lap in the 29-car field, the 18th-year racer moved from 10th to seventh in the first eight-lap heat race to finish one spot out of an A-main transfer spot. He then placed third in the IRA B main to gain the 24th starting position in the 30-lap A main. However, Arenz pulled off early on, resulting in a 24th-place showing. "I thought Bloomington was a neat place," Arenz said. "I would be curious to see how things would have gone if the track didn't get as much rain and the surface wasn't crap. With having to start at the tail of the feature and already slicing two new tires, we decided to be smart, save our equipment and keep a few laps off our motor. Considering those factors, I chose to pull off in the early laps of the feature." One night later, at Butler Motor Speedway in Quincy, Mich., proved to be an improvement as Arenz opened the night by securing fast qualifier honors in the 37-car field with a lap of 13.382 seconds around the three-eighths-mile high-banked dirt oval. After placing second in the first heat race and third in IRA dash 1, the Sheboygan Falls, Wis. driver started the 30-lap main event from the fifth starting position. He wavered between fourth and seventh place throughout the event before coming home with a strong fifth-place showing to mark his fifth top-five finish of the 2025 campaign. "I liked racing at Butler," Arenz said. "It was sort of a combination of a few tracks we run frequently. I enjoy competing at new tracks to test my skills." With the IRA off until the end of July, Arenz is unsure if he will enter any races in the coming weeks. The IRA season will resume with a tripleheader weekend starting Friday, July 26 at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., moving on to Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wis. on Saturday, July 27 and ending up at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. on Sunday, July 28. "As for the plans in the next few weeks, it's up in the air as of now," Arenz said. "If I can, I would like to race a time or two to keep my skills sharp." - Fast start falls short for Arenz at Road Challenge, IRA road trip on tap
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 25, 2025 - Still riding the wave of his remarkable upset victory in a High Limit Racing national tour series event at 141 Speedway on June 5, it was a matter of so close, yet so far away in the Road America Challenge Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car event at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, June 21. The 18th-year racer enjoyed a great start to the night by qualifying a stout fourth in the 25-car field with a lap of 12.050 seconds around the third-mile semi-banked red clay oval. After finishing second in the first eight-lap IRA heat race, Arenz advanced to his seventh IRA dash appearance in eight tries in 2025. After making a huge outside move on the opening lap of the first four-lap dash, Arenz advanced from fifth to second to earn the fourth starting position in the 30-lap Road America Challenge main event. The 2021 and 2022 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing and Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Car champion got off to a strong start in A-main action before engaging in a battle for second with Jake Neuman. After moving past Neumann on Lap 17, the 2013 Plymouth Dirt Track Racing Outlaw Compact four-cylinder track champion tracked down leader Kelby Watt heading into the closing stages of the race. Arenz surged ahead to lead lap 24 before Watt battled back along the outside groove. On lap 25, Watt attempted to squeeze past Arenz next to the backstretch wall. However, the two drivers made contact before Watt cut down the track in turn three to seize the lead. Meanwhile, Arenz slowed to a stop on the following lap with a flat right rear tire resulting from the collision with Watt. After making a tire change in the work area, Arenz returned at the rear of the lead lap before moving up to secure a 15th-place showing at the finish line. "I was very happy to be able to put down a good lap in qualifying," Arenz said. "The heat race went well and I moved forward in the dash. Unfortunately, come feature time, there was a racing incident that caused a caution and cut down my right rear tire after taking over the lead position. We were able to get it changed and with five laps to go, and I was able to drive from the back of the field to get a few spots back." The team is preparing to head out on the road with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association Sprint Car Series this Friday, June 27 at Bloomington Speedway in Bloomington, Ind. and Saturday, June 28 at Butler Speedway in Quincy, Mich. At Bloomington Speedway on Friday night, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars and Super Stocks are also on the card. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. with spectator gates opening at 5 p.m., hot laps at 6:30 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m. on the quarter-mile high-banked red clay oval. On Saturday night at three-eighths high-banked Butler Motor Speedway dirt oval, UMP Modifieds and Four Cylinders will also be featured with pit gates opening at 3 p.m., followed by spectator gates at 4 p.m., hot laps at 6 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m. The races will mark Arenz's first career appearance at both tracks. "I always like to take on new tracks," Arenz said. "I see it as a challenge to test my knowledge and skill. We will do what we do every night - watch the track, watch other drivers on the track, make smart choices and be smooth and consistent." - GLSS Event for Friday, June 13th Postponed to Friday, August 8th
Hartford, MI - Officials with Hartford Speedway and the MacAllister CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP have announced that the event scheduled for Friday, June 13th has been postponed to Friday, August 8th due to continued rainfall. A progressively poor weather forecast has forced the postponement. The next scheduled event for the MacAllister CAT Great Lakes Super Sprints is Saturday, June 14th at Butler Motor Speedway alongside Winged 410 Sprint Cars, DIRTcar UMP Modifieds, and Compacts. Fans who can't make the trip can watch all the action live on www.GreatLakesSprints.TV. For more information on the Great Lakes Super Sprints log onto www.GreatLakesSuperSprints.com.
- Back Home Again in Michigan; Great Lakes Super Sprints Head to Hartford and Butler
Merrill, MI - The Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP (GLSS) are headed back to the place it all started with a pair of stops in Michigan this Friday and Saturday night. Southwest Michigan's, Hartford Speedway hosts GLSS for the one and only show at the uniquely shaped Speedway on Friday, before Michigan's home for Sprint Car Racing, Butler Motor Speedway, welcomes in the 360 Sprint Cars for the first of two scheduled stops this season. The weekend trip is an exciting one based on what fans saw last season. Each facility was featured in the GLSS Top 10 races of 2024 countdown from the off-season. Hartford is known for being fast and technical with a different shape and grove in turns one and two than what is featured in turns three and four. Drivers know they need to be careful entering turn three or calamity could strike. In the spring visit to Hartford in 2025, Phil Gressman held off Max Stambaugh and Jared Horstman for the win. In August, a completely different crop of drivers was at the front; Keith Sheffer, Jr earned the win over Dustin Daggett and Kelsey Ivy. Hartford Speedway also welcomes the Super Troopers and Cyber Stocks for Friday night's racing. On Saturday, Butler Motor Speedway has a dual sprint car feature with GLSS serving as the headliner and the weekly 410 Winged Sprint Cars alongside. Butler was the number one show in 2024 according to the countdown with intense racing throughout the field in both shows last year including slide jobs, lapped traffic, and hair-raising moments while battling for position. Corbin Gurley earned his first career GLSS win last spring at Butler with an impressive move through lapped traffic to get around Phil Gressman and then Max Stambaugh for the win. In August, Kasey Jedrzejek pulled a massive slidejob after a restart to get by Dustin Daggett for the win. Keith Sheffer, Jr moved through for second with Daggett falling to third. DIRTcar UMP Modifieds and Compacts are also on Saturday night's schedule. Tickets for each event this weekend in Michigan are available at the gate on race day. Racing is set to begin each night at 7:30 PM. Fans who can't make the trip can catch all the action LIVE at www.GreatLakesSprints.Tv.
