- Arenz drops curtain on remarkable 2025 campaign
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) October 1, 2025 - Travis Arenz and the Travis Arenz Motorsports Team crew capped a highly memorable 2025 season with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series curtain closer as part of the eighth annual Wisconsin Sprint Car Championships at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis., on Saturday, Sept. 27. The 18th-year racer began the night by qualifying a strong third in the 33-car field with a lap of 11.554 seconds. Arenz then placed fifth in the third IRA heat race to earn a dash spot. The 2021 and 2022 Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing champion then placed fourth after starting third in the second four-lap dash to gain the eighth starting position in the 30-lap Rick Schmidt Memorial main event. Arenz's participation in the main event proved to be short-lived, as he was involved in a four-car incident in turn two on lap three, which ended both his night and the 2025 season. "The night started out on a positive note as I ran a third quick qualifying lap, but the night quickly started to take a turn in the opposite direction," Arenz said. "With hurting the equipment I have in the last few weeks, I had to run my backup car again. I describe that car as temperamental and it really challenges my skills as a driver. It requires very technical adjustments and really makes you work for it. We fell back a few spots in the heat race, but I was able to get back into a transfer spot, which allowed a starting position in the dash. Very early on in the feature, I was, unfortunately, caught up in a wreck with nowhere to go, ending our night early." Arenz capped the 2025 campaign with three A-main victories, five podium showings, 14 top-10 finishes, six heat race victories, 13 dash appearances, three dash victories, and one fast qualifier award in 24 completed events. The clear highlight of both his 2025 season and his entire racing career was a highly improbable $26,000 victory against the biggest names in the Winged Sprint Car business with Kubota High Limit Racing at the Rayce Rudeen Foundation event at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek, Wis., on Thursday, June 4. Arenz also tallied two IRA A-main victories at The Plymouth Dirt Track on Saturday, May 17, and 141 Speedway on Saturday, Sept. 13, to finish 2025 with a career-high three 410 Sprint Car victories in a season. On the downside, mechanical issues and on-track incidents forced Arenz to retire from a handful of main events early and to miss IRA events at Cedar Lake Speedway on Saturday, Sept. 6 and Jackson Motorplex on Saturday, Sept. 20. He ended the 2025 campaign eighth in the final IRA point standings. - Pokorski banks solid Jackson Nationals debut
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) September 23, 2025 - In his first appearance at the prestigious 47th annual Jackson Nationals, Alex Pokorski acquainted himself quite nicely with the fast four-tenths-mile Jackson Motorplex in co-sanctioned Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association, Northern Outlaw Sprint Association, and Midwest Sprint Touring Series competition at Jackson, Minn., on Saturday, Sept. 20. Behind the wheel of the No. 4 Akright Auto Racing Team 410 Sprint Car, Pokorski was fast right out of the trailer, qualifying 13th overall in the strong 35-car field with a lap of 15.565 seconds. After starting on the outside of the front row in the second heat race, the fifth-year Sprint Car campaigner fell back to seventh in the running order. He pulled off the racing surface on lap 7 after experiencing smoke from an overflow of oil. Based on the Jackson Nationals points formula, Alex earned the 17th starting spot in the 24-car A-main field. He drove a smooth and consistent race on the way to a 21st place showing in his first Jackson Nationals 30-lap main event. "I really liked Jackson," Pokorski said. "I felt comfortable right away on the top of the track. As the track changed from track work, we didn't make the right changes. Eventually, the track came back to us as it dried out later in the feature. Being behind at that point, I spent the rest of the race trying to learn how to run the inside berm effectively. It was a bit challenging, but I had fun. It was encouraging to have speed early, and we learned some things on how to set up our car for bigger tracks." Pokorski is planning to make an appearance at the final event of the 2025 Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series season on Saturday, Sept. 27, at The Plymouth Dirt Track. - Arenz tallies 2025 victory No. 3 at 141
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) September 17, 2025 - Although it may not be his home track, 141 Speedway is the next best thing for Travis Arenz. After earning the signature win of his racing career on June 5 with the Kubota High Limit Racing Series, Arenz backed it up with his first career Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series A-main triumph at the unique third-mile semi-banked egg-shaped clay oval in Francis Creek, Wis., on Saturday, Sept. 13. The Sheboygan Falls, Wis. competitor opened the night by qualifying 10th in the 25-car field with a lap of 11.232 seconds. After winning the first eight-lap heat race, Arenz won the first four-lap dash to claim the pole of the 30-lap main event. The 2021 and 2022 Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing champion fell to second on the opening lap and trailed race leader Danny Schlafer until using a low move to seize the top spot on lap 17. Arenz, who claimed the 2016 Northern Sport Mod title at 141 Speedway, would not be denied the rest of the way en route to his second IRA A-main victory of the 2025 season, third overall main event triumph of the current campaign, third career IRA A-main win, and 74th overall A-main victory in 17 seasons of competition. He opened the doubleheader weekend by qualifying 12th in the 29-car field at Wilmot Raceway on Friday, Sept. 12. After finishing third in the third heat race, Arenz advanced from the 11th starting spot to claim a fourth place showing in the 30-lap main event. "I ran our backup car this weekend," Arenz said. "This car tends to react to changes differently than my other chassis do, so we made what he had work. The car was not very good at Wilmot early in the night. However, it got better, and we had a respectable fourth place finish. We weren't as competitive as we should have been, but I knew finishing was important. "At 141, the car was decent in the heat race and dash, but again I had to make it work," he said. "The car was much better in the feature. After making a few adjustments, I was able to move around the track as I needed to earn another victory at 141." Arenz and the members of the Travis Arenz Motorsports Team are set to enter the 47th annual Jackson Nationals at the four-tenths-mile semi-banked Jackson Motorplex dirt oval in Jackson, Minn., on Friday, Sept. 19, and Saturday, Sept. 20. The 410 Sprint Car portion of the event is co-sanctioned by the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association, Northern Outlaw Sprint Association, and Midwest Sprint Touring Series. RaceSaver 305 Sprint Cars are also on the card both nights. Racing program on Friday, Sept. 19 features the Tweeter Memorial presented by Joel Pingeon Trucking for $5,000 to win and $500 to start. - Arenz aims to regroup with IRA doubleheader
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) September 10, 2025 - What was shaping up to be a promising weekend at one of the most prestigious events on the 2025 Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series schedule, ended in early disappointment for Travis Arenz and the members of the Travis Arenz Motorsports team during night one of the 25th annual Jerry Richert Memorial at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis. on Friday, Sept. 5. The Sheboygan Falls, Wis. racer opened the night by qualifying 41st in the stellar 46-car field. He advanced to sixth from the 10th starting spot in the fourth 8-lap IRA heat race. After starting fourth in B main 2, Arenz moved up to third to gain a starting spot in the 30-lap main event. The 2021 and 2022 Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion started 22nd and was running 18th when he hit the turn two wall and flipped on lap 18, which knocked him out of the race. He was scored 22nd. Extensive damage to the car forced Arenz to withdraw from Saturday night's racing program. "There isn't really anything to say about Cedar Lake," Arenz said. "We'll be back this weekend at Wilmot and 141." - Runner-up, top 10s highlight IRA tripleheader for Arenz
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) September 3, 2025 - In one of the toughest stretches of the 2025 Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series schedule, Travis Arenz and the members of the Travis Arenz Motorsports team came away with three solid top-10 showings, including a podium effort in a Labor Day Weekend tripleheader at The Plymouth Dirt Track, Beaver Dam Raceway and The Hill in Sturgeon Bay, Wis. Friday, Aug. 29 through Sunday, Aug. 31. The Sheboygan Falls, Wis. resident kicked off the three-race weekend by qualifying 10th in the 28-car field at The Plymouth Dirt Track during the Sheboygan County Fair on Friday, Aug. 29. Arenz went on to win the first heat race before placing second in the first IRA dash to claim the third starting spot in the 30-lap main event. The 18th-year competitor raced in the second and third positions throughout the hard-fought main event before coming home with a strong second place showing. One night later, the team entered the Harry Neitzel Tribute-Jim Wipperfurth Memorial event at Beaver Dam Raceway on Saturday, Aug. 30, in a race that was billed as the final Sprint Car race at the facility, which is for sale. The 2021 and 2022 Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion opened the night by qualifying 22nd in the 34-car field. After placing fifth in the second heat race, Arenz rolled off from the 18th starting position in the 30-lap A main. Arenz marched through the field to gain 10 positions on the way to an eighth place showing. With 22 cars on hand at The Hill Raceway in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., on Sunday, Aug. 31, Arenz turned in the second fastest qualifying lap before placing second in the second heat race and third in the second IRA dash. Arenz started sixth in the A main before a caution flew on the opening lap for a spin involving another car. After the caution was called, Arenz spun in turn three as he attempted to slow down his machine. However, he was sent to the rear of the field for being part of the caution flag. Racing from the rear of the field in the 21st spot, Arenz charged his way up through the field to break into the top 10 on lap 19. Five caution flags over the final 22 laps played to Arenz's benefit as he moved up to post a seventh place showing. "I wouldn't consider it a super great weekend, but definitely decent," Arenz said. "On a positive note, we were able to put a new car together for this weekend, and everything is in one piece. I wish we could have finished farther forward on Saturday and Sunday. We had a top-three car on Sunday in Sturgeon Bay, but when the yellow flew for another car, I lifted off the throttle coming into turn 3 in the slick. Unfortunately, the spin sent me to the tail on the first lap. However, we ended up finishing a solid seventh after coming back from 21st." The team is now scheduled to compete in the 25th annual two-night Jerry Richert Memorial event at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., this Friday, Sept. 5 and Saturday, Sept. 6. Limited Sprints and UMSS Traditional Sprints are scheduled to round out the card on both nights, with racing slated to start at 6 p.m. All 2025 IRA events are streamed live on floracing.com. - Hartmann aims to turn luck at IRA Richert Memorial
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) September 3, 2025 - An overall lack of good luck, which has hounded Austin Hartmann and the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing Team throughout the 2025 season, was again on display in a pair of Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series events at The Plymouth Dirt Track and Beaver Dam Raceway last weekend. The Labor Day weekend of IRA action opened during the Sheboygan County Fair at The Plymouth Dirt Track on Friday, Aug. 29, with Hartmann logging in the 12th fastest qualifying time in the 28-car field. The fifth-year Sprint Car competitor went on to place third in the third heat race to earn the 12th starting spot in the 30-lap main event. Hartmann was running 11th on lap 9 when another competitor moved up the track and forced the Plymouth, Wis. driver into the outside wall between turns three and four, producing a bent right rear wheel. After heading to the work area, Austin reported an engine issue, which ended the team's night with a 23rd place showing. Later, Austin and the team discovered a lost cylinder number 8 spark plug in the engine compartment. One night later, the team headed to Beaver Dam Raceway for the Harry Neitzel Tribute-Jim Wipperfurth Memorial event on what was described as the final Sprint Car race to ever be held at the facility, which is for sale. The night got off to a strong start for Hartmann as he qualified sixth out of the 34 cars signed in before placing fourth in the second heat race to qualify for his fourth dash of the 2025 IRA season. A fifth place showing in the second four-lap dash put Hartmann in the 10th starting spot for the 30-lap A main. Again, poor luck struck in a big way on lap 4 when, while racing for sixth, another driver steered left into Hartmann along the front straightaway. The contact sent Hartmann on a series of flips. While he was able to emerge from the hard wreck uninjured, the heavy impact destroyed his 87A machine. Hartmann ended up 22nd in the final race results. The incident caused the team to miss the final event of the three-race IRA weekend on Sunday, Aug. 31, at The Hill Raceway in Sturgeon Bay, Wis. "It was another bad couple of nights running with the IRA and having drivers make contact with our car," Hartmann said. "We will get everything put together and be at Cedar Lake this weekend." The team is scheduled to compete in the 25th annual two-night Jerry Richert Memorial event at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., this Friday, Sept. 5 and Saturday, Sept. 6. Limited Sprints and UMSS Traditional Sprints are scheduled to round out the card on both nights, with racing slated to start at 6 p.m. All IRA events the 87A Hartmann Racing Team enters during the 2025 season will be streamed live on floracing.com. 87A Hartmann Racing 2025 sponsorship partners include Kristine Hartmann Pleasantview Realty, Shufflebotham Tree Service, The Dispensary, Metalcraft, Ludwig & Sons Trucking, Quasius Construction, Holler n' Hills, Rich's Truck & Auto Repair, Gibbsville Cheese, Hepfner Racing Products and Berryman Racing Shocks. - Arenz takes first run at LaSalle, ramps up for three-race IRA weekend
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) August 27, 2025 - After competing in just three Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series races over the span of the past seven weeks, Travis Arenz and his crew got back on track with their first appearance at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Ill., on Saturday, Aug. 23. Arenz opened the night by qualifying 18th overall in the 36-car field with a lap of 11.660 seconds. After placing sixth in the second IRA heat race, the 2020 and 2021 Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion rolled off third and advanced one spot to place second in the 12-lap B main and move on to the evening's main event. The Sheboygan Falls, Wis. driver started 21st in the 30-lap main event and worked his way up to as high as 12th before tallying a 20th place showing. "LaSalle is a cool facility," Arenz said. "I have never raced there before, so I'm glad we got to experience it, but the night's results were less than favorable. I made contact with the wall after losing tack coming out of the turn during the closing laps of the feature, which resulted in making contact with another driver. It was a driving error on my part. I always want to race clean and respectfully. With the wreck this past weekend, there is a lot of work to prepare for this weekend. We will get everything back together and be ready. I hope to turn good clean laps all weekend. I'm also hoping to get a little redemption at Beaver Dam while we still can!" (PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) August 27, 2025 - After 23 days out of the driver's seat, Austin Hartmann and the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing Team got back at it last week with the NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws and Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association. On Tuesday, Aug. 19, Hartmann and crew traveled to far western Wisconsin to take on the World of Outlaws 410 Sprint Car Series at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis. The fifth-year Sprint Car competitor qualified 23rd in the 27-car field with a lap of 12.045 around the lightning-fast, third-mile high-banked clay oval. After placing seventh in the second heat race, the Plymouth, Wis. driver advanced to the 30-lap A-main with a second place showing in the Last Chance Showdown. Hartmann held strong in the main event to post a 21st place showing. The team made its first-ever visit to the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Ill., with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association on Saturday, Aug. 23. He then placed sixth in the first IRA heat race before starting fifth in the B Main. Hartmann was running seventh, needing to place in the top four to advance to the main event, when an incident on lap 8 ended his evening early. He was credited with a 10th place showing. "It was another IRA show where the results weren't what we wanted," Hartmann said. "I didn't have a very good night behind the wheel. We're looking forward to getting things straight for the three-race weekend coming up." 87A Hartmann Racing Team is preparing for a big tripleheader weekend of IRA action starting at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis., for the annual Sheboygan County Fair race on Friday, Aug. 29. - After eventful double dip, Pokorski eyes IRA tripleheader
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) August 26, 2025 - Following a month away from competition, a weekend of 360 and 410 Sprint Car action offered a little bit of everything for Alex Pokorski and members of the Akright Auto Racing Team. The team opened the doubleheader weekend with a night of Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car action at The Plymouth Dirt Track on Friday, Aug 22. Alex began the program by registering the seventh fastest qualifying time in the 26-car field with a lap of 12.746 around the semi-banked third-mile clay oval. After starting third and placing second in the second heat race, the fifth-year Sprint Car racer rolled off from the fourth starting slot in the 25-lap headliner. The West Bend native used a strong start to vault into second on lap 4. While dueling with Scotty Thiel for the runner-up spot on lap 9, Pokorski brushed the front stretch wall, which resulted in a flat right rear tire. After retreating to the work area for a tire change, he rejoined the field, charging from 21st to secure a 12th place finish. One night later, on Saturday, Aug. 23, Pokorski and crew made their debut appearance at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Ill., for a Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series event. After qualifying 31st in the 36-car field with a lap of 12.227 seconds around the quarter-mile high-banked dirt oval, Pokorski placed seventh in the fourth heat race. Alex lined up sixth in the 12-lap B Main and was battling for the final A-main transfer spot when he clipped the front stretch wall on lap 7. The impact produced enough damage to bring the evening to a close for the No. 4 car. He was credited with a ninth place showing in the B main. "We had good speed in the 360 again," Pokorski said. "We were just unlucky to crash early in the A main. On the 410 side of things, we are still learning. I ended up driving it too hard and made some more work for us this week. We have a good start on it. I'm hoping to finish up the season strong, beginning with making the three shows this weekend." The Alex Pokorski-Akright Auto Racing Team is preparing for a big tripleheader weekend of IRA action starting at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis., for the annual Sheboygan County Fair race on Friday, Aug. 29. On-track action is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. One night later, Pokorski joins the IRA for the Harry Neitzel Tribute and Jim Wipperfurth Memorial in what is being billed as the final Sprint Car race ever to be held at Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wis., on Saturday, Aug. 30. Spectator gates are scheduled to open at 4 p.m., with racing starting at 6 p.m. The weekend closes with the team's first-ever appearance at The Hill Raceway in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., with the IRA 410 Sprint Car Series. - Hartmann tallies 2025 IRA best at Beaver Dam Raceway
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 30, 2025 - In a season that has put Austin Hartmann and the members of the 87A Hartmann Racing Team to the test many times over, a solid weekend overall effort highlighted with a season-best showing was just what the doctor ordered in a back to back to back Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association weekend of action. The IRA tripleheader opened at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., where Hartmann opened the night by turning in a 12.671-second qualifying lap to place 22nd in the 30-car field. - Arenz pushes forward through three-race IRA weekend
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 30, 2025 - Following a three-week hiatus, Travis Arenz and the Travis Arenz Motorsports team hit the track for a three-race weekend of competition with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series action at Mississippi Thunder Speedway on Friday, July 25, Beaver Dam Raceway on Saturday, July 26 and Angell Park Speedway on Sunday, July 27. Arenz opened the weekend with a 20th-place qualifying effort with a lap of 12.622 seconds in the 30-car field at the third-mile high-banked Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis. on Friday, July 25. The 2021 and 2022 Midwest Sprint Car Association and Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car champion finished sixth in the second IRA heat race to roll off 18th in the 30-lap A-main. Arenz went on to advance eight spots to claim a solid 10th-place showing. The Sheboygan Falls, Wis. competitor found his groove at Beaver Dam Raceway on Saturday, July 26 by qualifying 11th in the 34-car field and gaining a dash berth by winning in the third heat race. After placing fourth in the first four-lap IRA dash, Arenz started seventh and moved up three spots to tally a weekend-best fourth-place finish in the 30-lap main event. At the historic Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. on Sunday, July 27, Arenz managed to qualify 16th in the 31-car field. Following a sixth-place finish in the first heat race, Arenz gained the 17th starting position in the 30-lap Salute to Bryan Gapinski main event. Arenz clawed his way up six positions to cap off the weekend in 11th. "The weekend wasn't that great for us," Arenz said. "We didn't perform how I would have liked, but I am pleased we moved forward each night. We also tried some new setup things that didn't go the best. On a positive note, the car is in one piece, and we all survived the hot temperatures. The only real problem I had this weekend was Sunday at Angell Park. I started losing oil pressure in the heat race. Luckily, it was just a gauge failure." After a two-week hiatus, the team is scheduled to resume its Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series campaign on Saturday, Aug. 16 at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., during the Kenosha County Fair. Spectator gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 5:45 p.m. and racing at 6:45 p.m. Arenz will close out the weekend at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis., as part of Corn Fest on Sunday, Aug. 17. - Pokorski finds speed amid motor woes in IRA tripleheader
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 29, 2025 - Despite dealing with a misfiring motor, Alex Pokorski squeezed the most out of his No. 4 Akright Auto Motorsports machine during a three-night weekend stand with the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series contested at three different Wisconsin dirt ovals. On Friday, July 25, Pokorski made his first appearance at the lightning-fast high-banked third-mile Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis. The fifth-year Sprint Car driver turned in the 12th fastest qualifying time in the 30-car field with a lap of 12.436 seconds. After starting on the pole in the third eight-lap heat race, the West Bend, Wis. native placed third to earn a transfer spot into the 30-lap A-main. After launching from the 13th starting spot, Pokorski was running 19th when he pulled off with motor issues. He was scored 22nd. One night later, on Saturday, July 26, Pokorski enjoyed a stellar start by qualifying a strong fifth in the 34-car field with a fast lap of 12.817 around the third-mile high-banked clay oval. Following a fifth-place showing in the first IRA heat race, Pokorski gained an IRA dash berth for the first time in his career. With a third-place showing in the second four-lap dash, Pokorski rolled off sixth in the 30-lap main event. After running as high as fifth, Pokorski brushed the wall on lap 22 and held on to equal his career-best IRA A-main showing with a 13th-place finish. One night later at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis., the team's weekend-long motor woes came to a head. After testing out the car during hot laps, Pokorski aborted his first qualifying attempt and retired the car for the remainder of the event. "I enjoyed racing at Mississippi Thunder and Beaver Dam," Pokorski said. "We had speed on Friday and Saturday. We just struggled with engine problems all weekend, which eventually took us out. Otherwise, we may have been faster yet." After taking the upcoming weekend off, the Alex Pokorski - Akright Auto Racing Team is set to make another start with the Plymouth Dirt Track Racing - Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Cars on Saturday, Aug. 9, at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. The team is scheduled to resume its Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series campaign on Saturday, Aug. 16, at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., during the Kenosha County Fair. - Taylor Scores Second Plymouth Dirt Track And Fifth Wisconsin WingLESS Feature Win
Adam Taylor of Wheatfield, IN captured his second AutoMeter powered by Gandrud Performance Wisconsin WingLESS 20-lap feature of the season in as many starts at Plymouth Dirt Track on the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds on Saturday, July 26, 2025.
- Perfect pass punctuates Pokorski's first Plymouth win
(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) July 15, 2025 - As last-lap passes go, Alex Pokorski's slide job to steal the victory in the 25-lap Akright Auto Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car A-main at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, July 12, will not soon be forgotten. Pokorski's final lap heroics propelled him to not just any race win, but his first career PDTR 360 Sprint Car main event victory at his home track. The night got off to a strong start as the West Bend native recorded his second consecutive fast qualifier award in PDTR 360 Sprint Car competition with a lap of 12.853 seconds to lead the 23-car field. In the first eight-lap heat race, Pokorski advanced to third from the fourth starting spot to gain the pole position in the 25-lap main event. After leading the first three laps, Pokorski relinquished the top spot to Billy Kreutz on lap 4. As the laps wound down, slower traffic became an issue for Kreutz, which allowed Pokorski to cut the gap significantly before making a bid for the lead to no avail on lap 19. Three laps later, Pokorski ripped off a slide job in turn four to briefly take the lead. However, Kreutz battled back to reclaim the top spot with a slide job of his own in turn one on lap 23. On the final circuit, Pokorski wound up tight and unleashed a thrilling race-winning slide job in turn two to seize the top spot en route to his first career PDTR 360 Sprint Car A-main victory and second career Midwest Sprint Car Association main event win. It was Pokorski's first MSA victory since June 2, 2023 at Dodge County Fairgrounds Speedway in Beaver Dam, Wis. In five PDTR-MSA 360 Sprint Car starts in 2025, Pokorski has racked up an A-main victory to go along with three additional podium finishes and a lowest finish of ninth. "That race was a lot of fun," Pokorski said. "I think it's more rewarding than the last one because we had to really work for it, both on and off the track. The race I had with Billy [Kreutz] with the slide job to win on the final lap is how you dream of winning them. Dave [Schultz], Randy [Leamer] and my dad [Paul Pokorski] did a great job of helping me get the car set up just right. Also, getting our second quick time award in only five events with MSA was the cherry on top. Those results show we have a little more speed than last year, in addition to our feature finishes." Next up for the team is a Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association 410 Sprint Car Series tripleheader starting Friday, July 25 at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., moving to Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wis. on Saturday, July 26 and closing at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. on Sunday, July 27.
